Downloading Guide

- Join Doujin Music & Doujin Style Discord.

- If you can't find the album(s) you can request them, via their request channel

- Search for the album(s) you want, under each post there will be a direct download button.

Now What?

- Read the Guides below on Discord Search/VK Search if needed.

- Search in the Download Channels in the Discord Servers (#upload-sharing in this Server)
- Search in the Download Archive (#download-archive in Doujinstyle Discord)

- Search via Community on DoujinMusic's VK Thread for the Albums You Want.

- Download your favorite doujin albums, all ~25,000 publicly available in these sources.

★ Unregistered Members

- Find a vk community that posts download links for albums/songs that you want.
- You can find Doujin Music related threads in the Sites section of this channel.
- Once on the thread, scroll down until you find the option "Search by Community"
- Use this specific search feature to find what you want within the thread.
- There should be a filehost link or a direct download link above/below each post.
- If the thread has neither, you'll need an account to download the songs individually.
- Simply ask for help in #general, someone with an account will lend a hand.

★ Registered Users

- Install a vk downloader browser plugin (there's many, such as VkOptz or VKD)
- Search via site-wide search or google if you need specific search terms for what you want
- Once you find a thread or song file you want, simply hit the download button beside it.
- The way you download may vary depending on which plugin you have
- Keep in mind that both site-wide search and music database search are inaccurate
- Search by community within wellknown threads first, use site-wide as a last resort.


Discord Search

- Locate the search box (top right corner)
- Left click in the search box to bring up filtering terms
- Select "in" then "channel you want to search in" to bring up results in one channel.
- Type in the search term you want to find, it will only show results within that channel now.

- If no search results show up, try searching alternate names (romanji)
- If you still can't find what you're looking for, you can request it in #upload-request
- Make sure you read the rules on requesting in each server you're in before doing so.


Deezer Ripping

- Choose a ripping software (Deezerloader Remastered, Remix or Smloadr)
- Majority of the server uses deezerloader remix which I'll be explaining in this guide

- Create an accout on deezer (it's free, use a throwaway email if you want)
- Open up the ripping software and sign into your deezer account

- Locate the "settings" button (should be top right for all 3 programs)
- Select your directory, tagging settings, bitrate
- Save your settings (you can change them whenever you want)

- Search for the music you want via Song, Artist, Album or URL
- Sometimes searching will show no results, try googling it instead
- If you find it on google copy the deezer URL into the URL section
- Once you find what you want hit download
- Once downloaded you can do whatever you want with the file(s)


Converting Lossless (FLAC) to X

- Download Foobar2000 & Install : https://www.foobar2000.org/download
- Download Foobar2000's Free Encoder Pack & Install : https://www.foobar2000.org/encoderpack

- Drag the file you want to convert into foobar2000
- Select the files you just put into foobar2000
- Right Click > Select Convert > Select "..."

- Select the type of quality you want & the file path.
- FLAC is typically converted to MP3 V0 or 320
- Select Convert once you're okay with your settings.

NOTE: These go down a lot since they break ToS on the app store & extensions page

:BP: VKD/VKOpt/VKDownloader: Shows bitrate for songs on VK and lets you direct download them.
:BP:  baidu-dl : Lets you download from pan.baidu without registration/downloading the baidu spyware client

Common Issues

:BP: Zip1/Rar1/7z: Files from vk primarily have an extension such as zipp, zip1 or rar1 to open these files use 7zip.
If you don't have 7zip you can simply rename them to their proper extension (Zip1 = Zip) then extract them.

:BP: Corrupt Files: This can either be due to winrar/7z not being fully updated, your download manager or browser corrupting the file
Or, that the file is actually corrupt. If you're up to date and have changed download methods and it persists it's the download itself.

:BP: Unicode/Text is Corrupt: Japanese/Chinese text will corrupt from time to time when extracting.
To fix this, you'll need to change your computers locale to Japanese/[Language] https://i.imgur.com/Stldvym.png
Alternatively, you can emulate your locale. This can be done using this: https://pooi.moe/Locale-Emulator/

:BP: Songs won't play in [music player]: If your music player doesn't support the file type you're trying to listen to you will not be able to open it.
iTunes for example, can't play all lossless formats and therefor you may have to get something like MusicBee or Foobar2000 instead.

:BP: Failure to Connect to X Some sites & ad redirects don't allow VPNs and will show this when attempting to connect to them.
You may also be region locked, it's best to google the specific site you're having an issue with to get the best resolution cause it varies greatly.

:BP: Song is too Loud/Quiet: If your song file is a legit rip and you're experiecing this, depending on music player you can...
Fix your ReplayGain to have all songs playing at the same volume, or adjust this specific track/album to your liking.
This is based on music player so you will have to research if yours can do it and how to do it using that player.

:BP: Reaching a Download Limit: Depending on the filehost the amount of data and the amount of time varies.
The solution is always the same, wait until the limit goes away or use a VPN to change your IP every time you hit limit.

:BP: Can't Change Music File Tags:  If you use itunes changing your tags inside of itunes will not effect the actual ID3 Tags.
Research if your music player can change your music file's tags or not when editing info in the player.
If it can but you can't get it to work, the file(s) are probably set to read only. Right click > Properties > Untick Read Only.

:BP: Theres no Seeds on a Torrent I Want: If you're using nyaa or some other public trackers the site seed count isn't always correct.
If there are no seeds or peers in your torrent client as well, check the comments to make sure it isn't a bad upload.
If the torrents fine, just leave it in your client for a few days/weeks, the seed(s) may just not be on when you initially tried to download it.
