Lords and louds

It was an ordinary day in the loud residence, and lincoln was hanging out in the attic with Lucy. Playing around with some of the old nocknacks while he ignored her poetry.

Durring his bout of dicking around he made a large well aged cardboard box burst under his weight. When he stood up. Worrying he had broken something . he saw a large number of books with a familiar logo.

"Huh?" He picked up the book. Sweeping some dust off. And low and behold. There was a book which read 'advanced dungeons and dragons. 2nd edition'
Upon taking a closer look at the rest of the box's content. There was almost every major splat book, as well as the core rules! Complete fighter's handbook. Guide to hell. Al quadim.

Unfortunately. Lincoln knew nothing of this, having only played the fourth and fifth editions of the game.

After a bit of debating with himself. He went downstares. Luc following behind him. Trying to get his attention. Lincoln got his walkie talkie.

"Clyde. Get over here right now i got something to show you. Over."

"Okay , but what about our code names? Over."

"Forget about the codenames. Just get over here."

"Roger that." Lincoln put his walkie talkie away for the time being and started looking through some of the books. Why didn't the newer version of the game do some of these things? He especially liked the concept of 'kits'.

Lori walked by the small spectacle. "Hey dweeb, what's up?" She sat on the couch ith a look of 'i dn't give a shit.'

Lincoln didn't bother noticing. "I found some old d&d books. Wanna play?" He asked hopefully.

"Ha! As if! You do your nerdy little things while i enjoy the life i actually have." Lori replied with a lazy smirk. Texting bobby.

Lincoln glared. "Suit yourself then." He went right on back to looking through the books.
"Wait! Change of plans! I am deffinately playing!" Said the eldest sister not five seconds later.

Lincoln flinched at the suddenness. "Why the change of heart?" He aksed at least happy he had more than one person to play with.

"Bobby loves retro tabletop ganes." Of fucking course

After spending a good thirty minutes writing the intro to an adventure Clyde had knocked at the door. Lincoln invited him in "Hey Lincoln. What is it that you wanted to shoe me?"

Lincoln lead him to the living room "i found sone old d&d books, i think they belonged to my dad or something."

"Wait, dungeons and dragons?! I dunno Lincoln my dads say that d&d makes you crazy!" Clyde gave his two cents on the idea.

Lincoln hummed. "Well that's too bad, lori said she would play." Clyde suddenly seemed to change his mind.

"I am in!" Clyde emphasized the whole sentence. Before the doorbell ringed. Lori was the one to get the door this time. Surprise surprise, it was Bobby.

Clyde glared at Lincoln as bobby walked in. Ronnie anne following behind. Ronne, seeing Clyde had kept her tough girl act up.

"Hey Lame-o," she said with a halfheartedly spiteful tone."before you even ask, bobby's watching me for the weekend, so he decided to drag me along."

Lincoln nodded. "That's just fine, you gonna play with us?" He asked hopefully.

Ronnie anne nodded. "Well, it's not likethere's anything better to do." She went to the living room as everyone else followed behind. Sitting around the coffee table

"Okay, i have four blank character sheets a player's handbook , and all kinds of player resource stuff on the table, if anyone needs help just ask,." Lincoln offered having gotten a decent feeling for the rules presented.

Bobby being the veteran of second edition was the one to help Lori and Ronnie Anne while clyde asked for lincoln's advice.

Soon enougheveryone was finished and the party was composed of.

Sir-Orgot Oaktower the human cavalier (Bobby)
Merida the amazon magician (Lori)
Shaka tengu the savage (Clyde)
And lyzbeth oaktower the half elf falconer (Ronnie)


And so the game begand

Lincoln began speaking in his lowest most serious voice."your journey begins in the small town of Helfer,..."

Sir orgat had been leading his younger sister safely around the village of merchents enjoying the atmosphere of the busy streets.The aforementioned sister however, was not. She hated the business of civilized areas. The noise drowned her very thoughts, her hawk was even more irritable than she.

Rlsewhere a man in a loincloth sat calmly in a cage glaring at his captors with a tranquil fury. When the pair of half siblings had seen him, orgat was just as enraged as the savage behind bars. How could one treat their fellow man like this?

He had made his way to the show temper flaring. As he asked as politely as possible to see the owner of this little cirque. Lyzbeth following her elder sibling.

Spying from a distance A woman well versed in the art of magic.from a land dominated by women. Had seen the sight, she had never seen such a strong looking, strong willed man before, and was...curious. She made her way toward the knight without allowing herself to be seen just yet


The cavalier had the circus owner by the collar, fist raised, as the falconer stood by trying to talk some sense into him. Before thinking of something

"Orgat, this is a man who speaks the language of money, what if we were to buy the man's freedom?" This seemed to calm the young knight.

Setting the owner free he asked. "How much?" The owner scrambled aboutwith his words before speaking.

"He's my most popular attraction, fifty gold, and no less." Spoke the cirque owner.

"Wow, that much?" Ronnie was more than a bit aggrivated,"i mean, it's the beginning of the game, we probably wouldn't have that much."

Lincoln shrugged. "That's why i let you have the maximum gold. Anyway, Clyde. Mind carrying this along?"

The other boy nods "yeah sure."

The savage had been listening to the conversation, having picked up a bit of common. "You know." Said Shaka, surprising the entertainer and two would be adventurers."if you are going to cheat dem. I'll have no choice but to kill you , we bote know i am not wort so much." He said with intent to scare the owner into offering at least a better price.

"Nonsense! You've earned me hundreds of coppers! I am here to make a profit"he kicked the cage

This was really getting on orgot's nerves." Yes, and he goes unpayed and starving.without the choice to leave."

Meanwhile Merida had been hidden within the bustling crowd. And casted a sleep spell on the fat bastard. The cavalier and ranger were both very confused, but rolled with the punches. And began rifling through his pockets for a key. Soon the foreigner was released from his prison. The amazon sorceress had stepped from the crowd.

"There you are, the lot of you are welcome. By the way." She said to the trio proudly. The fighters felt warm in the face, causing the ranger to groan. As if she has seen the armored one in this state before

"Stop the niceties we are here for a reason brother." Commanded the young ranger grabbing her brother's arm



"Wait , for what reason are you here?" Asked Merida raising a brow. Walking to the knight."perhaps i may assist?" The savage stepped forward as well.

"I must come along as well. I owe the three of you my freedom. Until this debt is payed i cannot go freely." Shaka demanded.

"Huh, this is going faster than i expected." Lincoln was fairly happy about how everyone was cooperating.

"What are you doing?" A quiet voice spoke up, starling the players. It was Lucy.upon calming down lincoln Lori began explaining.

"We're playing a game Lucy, go... I dunno, be creepy somewhere else." The oldest sister commanded pointing to the doorway.

Lucy turned to Lincoln."May i play too?"she asked her croaky monotone voice seemed slightly hopeful.

"Uh. Sure, but then everyone else will want to too,. So if you can convince a couple others we can play later." Lincoln offered Lucy uttered the word sigh feeling impatient. But nodded and left.

"Okay, where were we?"

Orgot hummed. "I see, are you certain you do not wish to go free? I simply can't ask you to come along." The savage only nodded in responce.

Meridan grabbed the knight's shoulder. "Now, tell us exactly what it is you traveled here for." She offered a sweet smile to the strong man.

"Ah, well as a member of the oaktower family, i must provemyself a man of the people, as a knight's errant." He explained with haste. "Should i fail , i can not inherit castle hallowcrest."

"Castle Hallowcrest? I thought i was the DM" lincol was slightly frustraited.

Bobby was embarrassed "oh right , sorry! I shoulda run that by you dude." Said the teen sheepishly.

Ronnie was getting bored she thought this would be more combat heavy."hey lame-o, get on with it."

Lincoln shook head. "It's fine.I'll  call it an opportunity for world building., now back to the story." But Clyde raised his hand.

"Hey Lincoln? Mind telling us more about the setting?" Asked Clyde hoisting his hand up. "I could probably roleplay better if i knew." Ronnie and Lincoln both groaned.

"Fine, uh... It's a mid fantasy campaign, where magic is known and well catagorized, but overall a rare talent that not many people can do.as such those not 'in the know' tend to aee it as either cheap parlor tricks or something to be feared, monsters are a similar case, its common knowledge they exist, but theyre way more mystified than normal, anyway, back the game."

Ronnie sighed in relief "finally!"

Lincon cleared his throat. "So, after all is settled. What do the four of you choose to do?

After thr group explains a few basic things about themselves. They notice that the sun will soon give way to night Orgot felt te need  to comment on this "so, those are stars huh? Never really seen them before" Orgat looked toward the sky, admiring the tens thousands f tiny cosmic lights.Lyzbeth concurred nodding along.

The amazon chuckled. "Ah, right, you're a city boy. Whatever the case we should go find an inn , get some food in us." She suggested leading the way as the two fighters nodded and followed. The ranger had no choice but to do the same.

Some fifteen minutes later, the party find their way into the Brass Beatle. Going in, they saw before them a smoke filled front room, filled with patrons and gossip..

The sorceress made her way to thecrowd to listen. As the nobles sat at the bar to negotiate the price for a room. Shakatengu hid away in the corner to avoid contact, giving a look of sterness as a means to intimidate the unfamiliar folks.

The barkeeper spoke to Orgot "So wot yoo fink o da rumars?" Asked the fat elderly man in a cockney accent causing the knoght to raise his brow. "Ah, muss be new 'ere, parently orc's be in da mountains. Buldin a strong'old"
