  1. UTV (formerly Ulster Television) is a British free-to-air television channel owned and operated by ITV plc as part of the ITV Network. Formed in November 1958 and appointed as programme contractor for the Independent Television Authority soon after, UTV became the first indigenous broadcaster in Northern Ireland.

  3. UTV is the one of two ITV plc-owned stations that retain local continuity announcers. As of July 2018, playout and presentation for the channel originates from City Quays 2 in the Belfast Harbour Estate.

  5. UTV Live is the evening news programme produced by UTV and broadcasting to Northern Ireland. It broadcasts for thirty minutes each Monday to Friday from 18:00, covering national news stories, features, sport and weather. Shorter bulletins air at other times.

  7. The 18:00 programme (known on air as UTV Live at Six) is broadcast from UTV's headquarters in City Quays 2, Belfast. UTV also has studio facilities at Parliament Buildings, Stormont and news bureaux in Derry, Dublin and Omagh. The station also makes use of video journalists based in Coleraine, Enniskillen and Newry.

  9. The main edition of UTV Live airs from 18:00 to 18:30 every weeknight, covering the day's news, current affairs and sport from across Northern Ireland. The main evening programme is supplemented by shorter UTV Live bulletins seven days a week. On weekdays four news bulletins are broadcast during Daybreak. The mid-morning bulletin airs immediately after an ITV News Summary, during This Morning, this update airs for around three minutes. The lunchtime edition of the programme follows on from the ITV Lunchtime News, giving a ten minute round-up of the days developments between 1:00pm and 1:10pm. At around 8:00pm, there is a 1-minute round-up of the day's headlines. On Monday 27 April 2009, UTV launched a 30-minute late evening news and current affairs programme, UTV Live Tonight, which airs at 10:30pm on Monday - Thursday nights and incorporates the station's late news bulletin alongside extended political and business coverage. A 15-minute late night bulletin airs each Friday at 10:30pm and during the programme's summer break.

  11. UTV Live also has four bulletins throughout the weekend; two on Saturday and two on Sunday. The broadcast time of each bulletin varies, but they are usually shown at lunchtime and early evening on both days.
