  1. Following the events of Final Fantasy X -Will-
  2.
  3. After Yuna delivers her speech to the crowd at Luca, promising them that she will defeat Sin once again. She goes with Kurgum and Wakka to visit the temples she voyaged to on her pilgrimage years ago. With all the beckoning, perhaps the Fayth have returned as well, restoring her ability to summon aeons.
  4. Meanwhile, Tidus, Lulu, and Chuami ponder the cause of the beckoning outbreal and how to aid Yuna. When Lulu further inquires about Chuami's claim of being Auron's daughter, Chuami recalls a woman summoner who arked people off to a safe paradise from Baaj Temple, but upon their arrival Sin attacked and they were separated. Tidus is reminded that Baaj Temple is where he first arrived in Spira, so collectively they decide to go investigate.
  5. Upon arriving at Baaj Temple, the party notices inscriptions written in Spiran script scattered around. They read “Seymour,” “Jyscal Guado,” “Flower,” and “Fire.” Chuami doesn't remember them, and although Tidus does he didn't understand them at the time and payed them no mind. Lulu recounts that Jyscal Guado was forced to exile his wife and son, Seymour, to Baaj Temple, but questions the meaning of the flower and fire inscriptions.
  6. “The flower refers to me,” a familiar voice calls out. The party turn and are greeted by the late summoner Belgemine. Although she was sent by Yuna, she too has been beckoned. Belgemine explains Baaj Temple was once visited by summoners on their pilgrimage, and that on her own pilgrimage to defeat Sin she discovered the Zanarkand dreamed of by the Fayth and how Sin never attacks it. After dying in failure, she remained as an unsent to send humans to the safe land of dream Zanarkand.
  7. She reveals one she sent was a young orphaned boy named Jecht, Tidus's father, leading to the revelation that Tidus is only half a dream which is why he is able to exist. When Seymour and his mother were exiled there, she offered them the same. Seymour liked the idea, but his mother refused in favor of challenging Sin instead. After Seymour returned he fell in love with Belgemine and accompanied her to Zanarkand. However, he was appalled by the idea of living in a fake reality. Their relationship ended when Belgemine refused to help Seymour's vile plan to become Sin.
  8. Belgemine was granted the aeon Anima from Seymour's mother when he moved his mother's Fayth to Baaj Temple, and continued the arking process until her last attempt, which included Chuami and her mother as requested by Auron, who Belgemine met while the latter was on pilgrimage. Auron was in love with the daughter of a high ranking official, who happened to be High Summoner Yocun's daughter. Yevon didn't approve of marriage and forced it's termination. Auron was offered a chance for redemption assisting Braska, but he feared Yevon would hunt down his family and never spoke of them. When Sin attacked Baaj Temple, Chuami's mother was killed while Chuami never saw Belgemine nor the temple ever again. Belgemine decided to stop the ark and assist summoners in their pilgrimage instead.
  9. The party is stunned by the revelations. Belgemine at last reveals she and Seymour had a son who wanted to be a summoner, but was headed down the same dark path as his father. Chuami speaks up, “So then, the fire of Baaj Temple is your son. It must be...” Lulu interrupts, “We must warn Yuna.”
  10. Realizing the temples no longer harbor any Fayth, Yuna is disheartened. Kurgum comforts her in Kilika. “There's no choice after all,” he utters, “we must use the final aeon. That's why you left Tidus, to protect him. Become my fayth instead, spare him.” Yuna pauses, but realizes she has no choice but to acquiesce. They voyage to Bevelle, where she hopes to see Tidus one last time.
  11. In Bevelle's Chamber of the Fayth, Kurgum begins the ritual to turn Yuna into the fayth for his final aeon. The bridge of pyreflies that are about to connect the two is suddenly severed by Chuami's blade. Both Yuna and Kurgum are shocked. Kurgum bursts out “Chuami, I told you I love Yuna!” “Love!?” exclaims Yuna. Tidus and Lulu explain all they learned from Belgemine, including how Kurgum is the one who beckoned Sin and aims to become Sin as his father did.
  12. Exposed, Kurgum is cornered and angered. But he realizes if Belgemine has been beckoned, then he can beckon him as well. Before their eyes Seymour himself materializes, who only smirks. Seymour willingly becomes Kurgum's fayth, and within seconds the final aeon Animus is summoned before the party. Animus, a terrifying monster not dissimilar to Anima's lower half, slightly reflects Seymours appearance. Although hit with curses and strong non-elemental magic, the party manages to bring down the aeon and Kurgum himself.
  13. Lulu and Wakka, injured, decide to go ahead while Tidus and Chuami remain to watch Yuna's sending. Before she can finish, however, Kurgum laughs and infuses himself into the weakened Animus, becoming Omega Animus, more humanoid in shape, but just as monstrous and muscular as before. Unlike Animus, Omega Animus slightly resembles Kurgum, who is fully conscious and can even speak. Kurgum/Omega Animus declares he has surpassed Yu Yevon, who was too weak to control Sin, and lashes out at the party using dark fire attacks.
  14. Yuna, Tidus, and Chuami struggle versus Omega Animus who has high defense and immunity to all but holy spells. Midway through the fight, beckoned forms of Braska, Jecht, and Auron walk in. Their children are shocked to see them, but Braska insists “there's no time for that now, we must defeat him.” Together they are able to overcome Omega Animus. Since it was Kurgum who beckoned Sin, which then caused an imbalance in the Farplane resulted in mass beckoning across Spira, his sending would end it. Yuna, Tidus, and Chuami spend a brief time embracing their parents before they fade away along with Kurgum as Yuna performs the sending.
