  1. C1P1
  2.
  3. “Beep. Beep. Beep.”
  4. The clock rang and woke me up from my sleep.
  5. In my drowsiness, my arm wandered aimlessly to find the snooze to end that miserable thing that ruined my relaxation time.
  6. Struggling to find the snooze, I adjusted my body to get a better position. In the process, due to my mind not being sober enough to adjust my body with perfect control, I fell down on the floor.
  7. “Oowwww. Wait, what am I doing?”
  8. Sobriety was slowly coming back to me. Albeit very slowly.
  9. Even though the alarm had gone off, my twin brother - Keita - was still deep asleep.
  10. Why did I have to wake up so early that day? More importantly, how did Keita manage to sleep through that loud beep?
  11. As I pondered this truly philosophical question, I was brought back to reality by a call from my mom.
  12. “Keiko! Keita! Come down for breakfast. You’re going to be late!”
  13. “I’m coming mom!”
  14. I hurriedly brushed my teeth and went downstairs to see what the fuss was all about.
  15. “I’m here, mom.”
  16. “What are you doing, Keiko! Why do you still have your pajamas!”
  17. “Huh? What’s the hurry about?”
  18. “Today is the first day of school! Go upstairs and change this instant! And wake up your brother as well.”
  19. I couldn’t believe I completely forgot about school. And I was so excited when I got admitted.
  20. After all, this was where mom and dad met. Where the man named Kiyotaka who gave me my surname and the woman named Kei who gave me half my name met.
  21. Maybe. Just maybe. I’ll meet my special one here too~~
  22. “Are you having you daydreams again, Keiko? Do as your mom says.”
  23. “Okay, dad”
  24. I dashed back upstairs three steps at a time and immediately started packing my things.
  25. It seems mom had laid out what we would wear for us the night before so I didn’t have to spend time on that.
  26. “KEITA! Wake up, you big lazy pig! Get ready for school!”
  27. “Ugh, 5 more minutes.”
  28. Keita replied quickly and covered his ear with his pillow.
  29. “I could give a rat’s ass about your 5 minutes. The bus is coming soon.”
  30. “Ugh fine. I was planning to wake up anyways. Nobody needed you to do this. Buh!”
  31. This brat! He may be older but to do that to your own sister. Tch.
  32. “Oh really? How about you stop your nonsense and actually prepare!”
  33. “Ugh, fine.”
  34. After Keita finished packing. We both ran down the stairs and started eating breakfast.
  35. Dad was sitting in his favorite chair reading the daily newspaper and drinking coffee.
  36. Dad would leave slightly after the bus came.
  37. We didn’t know much about what to expect. All mom and dad told us was that they would miss us a lot and to not get caught up in the moment - whatever that means.
  38. “Did you pack everything?”
  39. Dad had put down his newspaper and walked over to us.
  40. “Yeah, dad”
  41. “You excited, Keiko?”
  42. “Of course!”
  43. “What about you, Keita?”
  44. “Uh, maybe.”
  45. “Keita! We won’t be meeting them for 3 years! Give a proper answer.”
  46. “Ugh fine. You’re always such a pest, Keiko. I’m excited. Okay?”
  47. “Haha, you two always get along so well.”
  48. “We do not!”
  49. Me and Keita both spoke in unison. It kinda hurt how quickly he said that but I did the same so i guessed I couldn’t really blame him.
  50. “You always tease them so much, Kiyotaka. I guess your past of manipulating people didn’t change completely.”
  51. “Haha, don’t say that, Kei. You’re the one who made me change after all.”
  52. “I know right? Now compliment your beautiful and lovely wife more.”
  53. “Alright alright.”
  54. As mom and dad had their back and forth, they were in their own world. It was incredible just how close they were. Us two could only dream of having a relationship and bond as intertwined and personal as theirs.
  55. Unfortunately, they didn’t us any tales of their time in school. Apparently, they wanted us to go into this school blind, just like they did.
  56. “Honk! Honk! Honk!”
  57. Before we knew it, the time had come for us to part.
  58. “Look at that, the bus’ here already. Me and your mother will miss you both. Just remember we love you guys.”
  59. “Yeah dad, we love you too!”
  60. After we both kissed each of them on the cheek, we headed out into the pathway leading to the road where the bus sat.
  61. Just before entering the bus, I could still hear a bit of what mom and dad was saying.
  62. “They definitely take after you, Kei?”
  63. “Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?”
  64. “I mean, they also forgot their bags and overslept. That’s definitely you, not me.”
  65. “Hey! Just shut up!”
  66. Mom pouted and hit dad on the arm.
  67. “Oww! Alright, alright. I’ll stop.”
  68. They truly are inseparable.
