  1. In my opinion, the death penalty is a punishment that is justified for use under certain circumstances. I believe that if someone has no will to change themselves for the better and they are helping destroy society, e.g. they are going around killing innocent people with no willingness to adjust their conduct, I believe the death penalty should be issued. People that are in the world to just murder and ruin other's lives should not be given the gift of life. If someone can not treat other people like human beings and just carelessly murder them, they do not deserve life. For example, I believe terrorists with their sole intent to murder innocent people should be issued the death penalty.

  3. Now although I may agree with the usage of the death penalty on certain types of people it does not mean I completely agree with it. I believe people that have made mistakes and are truly sorry should not be given the death penalty. People that are genuinely and truly sorry for what they've done no matter how serious it is, should not be given the death penalty. They should be imprisoned, but not killed. I also believe the death penalty should only be issued to people with extremely violent charges e.g. murder or terrorism.

  5. Furthermore, I understand some people may disagree completely with the death penalty. They may think that it is wrong or inhumane to kill another person because of what they did wrong. Now, I understand where they are coming from with this statement but I believe they have to think about what sort of person the criminal is. Are they a hardened murderer? Would you want your children around these people? Their answers would likely be no, therefore I believe the death penalty is more than justified. People may also say life imprisonment is enough of a punishment. But, if they have taken many lives, I don't believe life imprisonment is enough of a punishment.

  7. To conclude - I agree with the death penalty in certain circumstances. I do not believe some people are worthy of living life. Life is a gift given to us and we should not be going around murdering innocent people. I do however agree with the fact people should be given second chances if they are genuinely sorry for what they've done. I don't think just saying sorry to try to get away with it is enough, they should genuinely mean it.
