A Meeting of Alliances

[17:25] Finally, the founders had been assembled, and even Fingar would be here to attend. Revan would take a seat, his eyes wandering across everyone present with a faint smile on his face.

"You all.. May be wondering why I have gathered you here today.. Simply to deliver some news.. Developments.. And might I say.. it is quite good news.." His tone sounded oddly chipper, with a hint of enthusiasm as he would begin underway with their meeting.

"Both topics relate to alliances. The first one is in regards to Danica, and her guild known as The Bogeymen." It was a creepy title, but it was fitting for the Nightmare of a woman who lead them.

"She was very happy to hear me propose an alliance with her guild.. It seems they have their own medic, and alchemist.. However, they lack an Artificer.. So you will be very important for this alliance, Lilith." He would say, turning the focus to her.

"The terms of our agreement are simple, should we choose to accept them. We offer mutual protection and aid to one another, and Danica asks for our utmost loyalty to her and her guild- and they will return the same in kind to us. We get access to their strength, just as they receive access to our own. If they need assistance on a mission, we will offer some of our magi- if we need extra hands on an expedition, they will lend theirs."

Explaining what they had discussed, he thought they were very agreeable terms. Looking around, he would gauge everyone's reactions.

"What is everyone's thoughts on this?"

[17:28] Fingar looks over Revan taking a moment to think about it while rubbing his chin.

"Alliance means that they will expect us to assist them in whatever conflict they might get themselves into and vice versa. Double edged sword."

"Personally I will not participate in any armed conflict. We were supposed to be monster hunting guild not a rogue military group, Revan."

[17:29] Fingar says, "I understand the progress and aspiration but know this decision might bring unforseen consequences ."
[17:29] Fingar says, "We've been doing fine so far besides minor events such as that failed robbery."
[17:30] Hans thought hard as he stayed quiet in the guild hall awaiting everyone's response. The idea was pretty acceptable but he didn't go out much which means he barely knew the guild at all. All this time him and finger had been mining and didn't think that there were other guilds out there. Though he thought of a particular word Revan said, something he didn't quite get.

Loyalty

It may not have been intentional but to say but that word made it sound like they had an agenda in mind. He would simply stay quiet till he gets everyone's input in this.

[17:33] Lilith would sit down on the table, interested to hear about what they would talk about. She would listen closely, hearing about how the guild needed an Artificer she would smile as that meant she had more ores and things to do from now on.

Happy to have a reliable person in the guild and not really seeing any problems she would happily nod to having more friends.

"I think that's a great proposition! She's real strong and I'm sure that we'll learn a lot from them in the process!"

[17:33] "The... Bogeymen...?", she knew Danica wanted her to maybe join her guild, but she didn't know that her guild had such a name. What was it about against? Strength and protecting each other? Either way she didn't like the name in itself, it sounded a bit too ominous.
"That name sounds a bit too ominous to me..."

Her head tilted to the side , looking towards everyone else present at the table. Mostly the founders, really. Revan mentioned that both topics were about alliances, so there was another one that could be possible? She'll hear about that later anyway.

She then listened to the terms of this 'alliance' that Revan negotiated for, her eyes wandering over to the table in front of her.
"Protection. We protect them, they protect us. That was the goal of such an alliance, Fingar. Exactly because of that. But."
She frowned, eyes still looking down as she kept listening.
"Loyalty to each other...? And most of all they wanted our Loyalty to them, which seems to be more them trying to, like.. annex us to them."

She scratche d at her cheek, looking at their small lguild hall.
"...But I guess we do need the protection anyway. We're teens... But again.. that name sounds very ominous to me.. What is their goal? Did you ask them? Their actual goal?"

[17:34] Hans Hohenstein says, "How about you tell us what kind of people they are or maybe what kind of guild they are"
[17:34] Hans Hohenstein says, "Maybe it would give ups a bigger picture"
[17:38] Fingar remains silent letting others discuss this. However he is a little worried where this is going, not all of the guild members realize the fact that they could be put on leash in a subtle way in form of such agreement or even be be ordered to fight with their lives for somebody else's cause.

"Think very carefully about your decision."

He taps his finger on the table looking at Hans with a worried look on his face.

[17:42] There would be a nod, Revan was fully aware of how it all may of looked. The use of the word loyalty was off-putting to some, it seemed like they would be dedicated or indentured. However, perhaps trust was a more accurate word to use.

"You fought Danica, Fenes, you've seen her magic and spoke with her yourself.. She just has a taste for the dark." With that, he would turn to direct his attention to Fingar and Fenes who seemed to have more qualms.

"You should not have to worry about any guild wars, Fengar. Their guild values strength and wisdom above all. They are composed of.. I suppose you would say misfits, those hurt by the ravages of war, or tortured in some prospect of their upbringing." It was something Revan empathized with, it was how he was able to connect with their guild, the pain and suffering he endured being the son of The Clown prince.

"They seem.. Roughly in the same stages as us.. Getting missions together.. Though they still operate like a familial unit, much like us, and it seems their larger goal is to gather resources and funding to create their own settlement- somewhere that they can belong." He would look around, hoping that he had addressed all of their questions and concerns.

"If you wish.. I can.. Negotiate a contract.. Our agreement lasts every so many years, and if we find it is not working for us, we can terminate it at the end with no repercussions or hard feelings."

[17:47] Lilith seems like she's gonna fall asleep. Bussiness talks were not her forte

[17:49] "A taste for the dark...? That.. just makes me worry more."

The Ookami's ears flatten atop her head for a moment, hearing what kind of people were in that specific Guild- Misfits, probably like Magnus, some tortured souls, maybe Occultists, that.. dark magic. She was a bit scared there. If she didn't have a moment to relax before, she would probably be in full panic right now.
But she wasn't, luckily.

The next part did make her feel a little bit better, at least. the fact hey did what they could to maybe someday make their own settlement. Only gathering resources, doing some missions sometimes. Funding it.
She tilted her head to the side, letting out a sigh."OKay. I... Hope they won't drag us in some fight we don't want. I do want to say though, that if we discover that they fund their stuff by mugging people, I'm out.", she didn't like the notion, and her arms were still crossed.

"...A contract we could terminate would be a good idea I guess. As long as there's no conflict afterwards, yes...

I'd say, uh... Keep the mutual protection and stuff, I dunno."

[17:49] Fingar says, "..."
[17:49] Fingar says, "The very fact that we consider dealing with people who deal with dark magic."
[17:50] Fingar says, "Endangers our guild as whole according to government of two cities so far."
[17:50] Fenes says, "-Dark Magic as in shadows, for Danica, at least."
[17:50] Fenes says, "Not.. witchery."
[17:51] Revan Task says, "Yes- I should say that I have seen no other foul magics of them, yet."
[17:51] Fenes says, "None of that magic in them...?then that's good..."
[17:53] "I have no problem with people dabbling in the dark personally but.."

He would think hard to himself, creating a new settlement means a whole lot of hassle. Alliances to be made, people to convince and if they are making a settlement it also means politics.

"I say lets deal with them for now in one condition. If they intend to enter conflict with the major settlements in Esshar then we will be staying in the sidelines. It's a reasonable proposition considering the fact they'll be playing politics specially once their settlement is done."

He would then look down on the table in silence for a bit.

"We are a guild who intends to hunt monsters, some seek glory, some of us seeks fortune so any sort of politics and involvement in the war hurts us."

He nodded.

[17:54] Fenes says, "-Agreed..."
[17:55] Revan Task asks, "Very well- I will write up the contract under these conditions.. And we will say it is good for.. 2 years?"
[17:55] Fingar shakes his head with a sigh looking down at the table. He doesn't have much say in it even if he tries to make a point.

[17:56] Fenes says, "I guess for starters, just two years.. then the amount goes up the longer both our guilds get to know each other.."
[17:56] Hans Hohenstein says, "I agree on this with Fenes"
[17:56] Revan Task says, "I believe that is most agreeable.. Onto the second matter of business."
[17:57] Fingar says, "In my opinion you're making a decision in haste but you do you."
[17:57] Fingar proceeds to sit down on the red sofa, he's worrying too much and needs to rest.

[17:57] Revan Task says, "I assure you, Fingar, I have thought this through very thoroughly. "
[17:59] Fingar says, "A honest question."
[17:59] Fingar asks, "Do you think the guild is in need of assistance?"
[18:00] Fingar says, "Not a single expedition and you already want to make agreements."
[18:00] Fingar says, "That are potentially harmful, at least 60 percent chance we're gonna get simply used in this."
[18:00] Fingar says, "Lilith is prime example as number one."
[18:00] Revan Task says, "In need of it?.. Not really, but I feel we could benefit much more than without it."
[18:00] Fingar says, "Second is using us as cannon fodder."
[18:00] Fingar says, "They benefit from it much more."
[18:00] Fingar says, "We're treated as their backup plan right now."
[18:00] Fingar says, "You just don't realize it."
[18:00] Revan Task says, "Then we will have to use them back. "
[18:00] Fingar says, "They can disagree."
[18:01] Fingar says, "And they're potentially much more powerful people than we are."
[18:01] Fingar says, "THINK about i Revan."
[18:01] Revan Task says, "This agreement works both ways- and if they do, the contract is terminated."
[18:01] Revan Task says, "I have thought about it- this was my idea."
[18:01] Lilith wakes up and tries to input her own opinion to calm down Fingar

[18:01] Fingar shakes his head once again, he moves his head back resting it on the sofa.

[18:01] Lilith Allison says, "We ourselves have a good relationship with the Hunters Guild"
[18:02] Fingar literally plans ahead and predicts possible moves right away. To him it is clear what the other guild could do with them.

[18:02] Fenes says, "I've also quickly mentionned to Ezekiel if we could make a conjoint hunt, said he'll try to talk with yevon, or ask him sosemething or whatever it was."
[18:02] Lilith Allison says, "If they dare to attack us or force us into something, I'm sure the Hunters guild would help"
[18:03] Fenes says, "Their Lodge is... right on the outside of Alabastre, to the West..."
[18:03] Fenes says, "Yes.. There^s one in the Hunters's Guild, Orca.. that would definitely help us..."
[18:03] Lilith Allison says, "And Diedrich also thinks well of me"
[18:03] Fingar says, "You want to turn entire guild into workers for major power."
[18:03] Revan Task says, "I would not worry terribly hard, if Danica finds this contract unfavorable, then we will have nothing to worry about. "
[18:03] Fingar says, "Major power taht won't give a shit if we ask them not to do something."
[18:03] Fingar says, "They will extract whatever possible from us and we cannot say shit."
[18:03] Fingar says, "Because they can potentially destroy us."
[18:03] Fingar says, "I cannot believe you're actually considering this."
[18:03] Fingar says, "They will leech us before fulfilling their own side of agreementr."
[18:03] Revan Task says, "You're speaking of people you do not know."
[18:03] Fingar says, "You basically described who they are initially on the beginning of this conversation."
[18:04] Lilith Allison says, "Oh my"
[18:04] Fenes says, "...."
[18:04] Fenes breathes.

[18:06] Fingar says, "We shouldn't do any paper but make an actual meeting."
[18:06] Fingar says, "And make a point."
[18:06] Revan Task says, "I'll.. Think about it. "
[18:12] Gesturing back to Lilith, he would look back across the group. "Lilly was approached by another guild leader who wished to make a business arrangement. I was around, and joined them as we heard their request." He would explain where this second guild came from.

"Their leader is.. Zupak.. The self proclaimed boy-girl of the caves.. Their's is a much younger guild, and they wish for guidance.. Much how we sought the hunters guild.. I was initially opposed to taking them under our wing.. However, I told them all we could really offer them is how to craft, the trees of magic we know, and how to run a guild and operate on missions."

He would pause, letting that sink it, "I believe he said there was only four of them, small enough I.. Believe we could manage them quite easily.. As well as have more hands to assist us around the guild.. Fenes and Lilith, that would be four more hands to gather resources for us. Another body to brew potions, or forge equipment, and all you would have to do is instruct them, conserving your energy.

It also seemed like they were quite thankful for the opportunities I proposed, and they said they hoped it would forge a strong bond between our two guilds. I think there is something there to be strongly considered."

Clicking his tongue behind his teeth, his eyes would drift to Fingar. "The Boogeyman is an immediate assurance, if we find we do not benefit enough from this alliance, we can terminate it in two years.. The Shepherds is a long term investment, both I believe we can use as a great boon to our guild." He would finally finish, allowing the others to offer their input at this stage.

"Two years is enough ... for them."

[18:14] Lilith nods along with what Revan said, knowing already that Zupak is a kind person who only wants to grow stronger

[18:22] Now this next think wasn't really an Alliance, but more something like.. mentoring? She didn't exactly know why they would be mentoring a young guild they didn't really know anything about, but if the guild in itself is young along with its members, they can learn more from them, and guide them in a good direction.

"Four of them... Well, If they are so young, we might be able to guide them in a good direction at least. Whatever their guild name might be. But I want to do my alchemy myself.. If they start using my ingredients I swear..."

She mumbled a bit, ears lowering with a frown on her face.
Then the name of the actual guild came, The Shepherds. An interesting name, that was. In any way they might be able to have a good enough relationship with them, She was a bit more open to the idea of guiding that small guild.
"Okay... I like the idea of the Shepherds a bit more, since we will be pretty much growing together- a stronger bond to actually be forged between us. Whereas the Boogeyman, it's still.. a bit up in the air and everywhere, and I have some strange uneasiness when thinking about them, So that would probably need to be discussed in a full blown meeting..."

She shrugged, it was just a feeling, she didn't do well with thinking about it rationnaly, she didn't know how these alliances would work exactly.
"We could get friendly with the Boogeymen as well, but.. this whole... Loyalty to them thing is the thing that makes me question the deal, really. It doesn't seem like it's an alliance, more of a... overtaking. If that two year contract is what we're going for, then that's okay. It'll be pretty much just testing the grounds. We better really talk it through with them if they want the Alliance, though.."

[18:24] Fenes would have a quick walk towards the cauldron after saying that, brewing a specific potion and pondering wheter to drink it herself or give it to someone, since she has to figure how her body is doing with all the fightin' n' stuff.

[18:24] Lilith Allison says, "The hunters guild are busy dealing with other problems of their own right now"
[18:24] Hans Hohenstein says, "Hmmm then it can't be helped, we can help them"
[18:24] Fenes says, "We are fery friendly with the Hunter's Ldoge"
[18:25] Fenes says, "and can quite literally visit them anytime as they are real close to us"
[18:25] Revan Task says, "They wanted to go to us specifically because we are still growing."
[18:25] Lilith Allison says, "Indeed, Zupak's guild is off to Osrona though, just as a heads up"
[18:25] Revan Task says, "A well established guild like the Hunter's is relatively stagnate in it's growth"
[18:26] Hans Hohenstein says, "As long as Zupak is maintaining a no politics rule I don't see a problem"
[18:26] Revan Task says, "With us, there would be that mutual growth, you spoke of, Fenes"
[18:26] Revan Task says, "And I will... Speak again with Danica"
[18:26] Revan Task says, "And see if a propper meeting can not be arranged."
[18:26] Fenes drinks the potion... then suddenly feels EXTREMLY weeak.

[18:26] Lilith Allison says, "We met them near Theria"
[18:26] Hans Hohenstein says, "If you guys are meeting them personally, then it would be better if Fenes, Lily and you go I feel I'll be a weak link"
[18:26] Fenes says, "Theria...Alright.."
[18:26] Lilith Allison asks, "Weak link? How so?"
[18:27] Fingar asks, "Thats his decision no?"
[18:27] Fenes stares at Lilith, with 'pls no' eyes.

[18:31] Hans Hohenstein says, "That would be appropriate if anyone else doesn't have an objection"
[18:31] Lilith Allison exclaims, "Yeah!"
[18:31] Revan Task says, "Then I shall relay this to the appropriate guilds."
[18:31] Astrid would find herself hugged! Soon hugging the blue haired girl back in turn
