A Hat in Time 1.0.1 downpatch instructions

**How to download & install the fastest version of AHiT (patch 1.0.1)**

-Open your Steam Console (To open Steam Console, add the argument `-console` to your steam shortcut directory like this https://xara.moe/s/qpovu.png , it will then appear as a new setting on your steam client)
-paste the following code (without quotation marks) into the console for PC: "download_depot 253230 253232 679851710388128648" and for Mac: "download_depot 253230 253233 9161826236800191017"
-the steam console will now start downloading, there is no visual indication of this, but it *is* downloading
-eventually the console will print a line when it is finished, here it will tell you what the directory is that the files were downloaded to. This is usually something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\content\app_253230\depot_253232". Open this folder and copy the 3 folders inside (Binaries, Engine and HatinTimeGame)
-navigate to your hat in time install directory, and rename the 3 folders (again, Binaries, Engine and HatinTimeGame) to something like Binaries_old, Engine_old etc., then, paste the new folders into it. (if windows says some files are in use by ''steam client bootstrapper'' just kill steam in task manager and try again)
-navigate to your steamapps folder and look for "appmanifest_253230", open it in a text editor.
-look for `"StateFlags"`, set its value to 4 (it might already be at 4, in which case you don't have to edit it)
-look for `"UpdateResult"`, set its value to 0 (it might already be at 0, in which case you don't have to edit it)
-these 2 changes make it so that steam won't check for updates when you launch the client/game, to get newer updates, just delete this file and launch the game, steam will then re-download it.
-save the file
-restart steam

You should now be able to run the old AHIT patch from steam without going in offline mode! If you ran into any issues, feel free to @ me (Xarathoss) on discord in #hat-speedrunning or ask other people for help.

**Note:** This guide makes you download version 1.0.1, there are no patched tricks in this version compared to 1.0, it just has some added functionality compared to 1.0 (like the speedrun timer dropdown menu). If you want to ensure that you are not on 1.1 or higher after following all these steps, open your graphics settings in-game and look for `Depth of Field` in the advanced graphics menu. If you have 2 options "Standard" and "Complex" you are on version 1.0.1. if there is also an option "None" then you are on version 1.1 or higher, and probably didn't follow the guide correctly.
