Appearance: Due to events in stardust he now resembles a humanoid rubberhouse cartoon character wearing a shirt, pair of overalls, and big shoes in various brown and white colors.. He is in actuality some sort of...genetic slime creature with slime that has an inky consistency.

Personality: He's a somewhat nervous and shy guy but tries his best to be as friendly as possible, he's anxious about what people think about him and trusts a little bit too easily, he's intelligent but tries to balance his emotions and logic as he sees it in order to make informed decisions. Despite this, deep down he has a courageous heart and when push comes to shove you can count on him to go the distance.

Traits: He loves aliens, cryptids, and anything to do with the sci-fi and supernatural and very much frequents alien and cryptid-based online boards, he's smart enough that he's rather good with technology, having built and modified his own computer from the ground up (With...pre-made parts of course) and has mechanical knowledge as well from spending summers fixing cars with his dad. He's also quite a whiz with robotics and due to his experiences in space, cybernetics to an extent as well.

His favorite kind of alien are the greys of course with his favorite cryptid being the Loveland Frog and generally loves to talk about both aliens and cryptids and tends to ramble when he's excited. He frequently travels around with friends to go explore abandoned areas and go on "Cryptid and Alien Hunts" although he's never found anything yet. He's at least an...intermediate in terms of skill with parkour considering he's explored abandoned buildings a chunk of his life as well

Due to the events in stardust he can no longer transform but has regained his osmosian powers as well as advanced shapeshifting and incredibly heightened durability. He can absorb any material, be it genetic, synthetic, or otherwise, and temporarily transform part or all of his body into that material.

TLDR Backstory: In a freak accident after the pod containing the omnitrix was jettisoned, a passing meteroid smacked the pod on it's way down to earth, causing it's trajectory to change radically, rather than landing in the forest to be found by Ben Tennyson, it landed in the brush by Tanner's house as he was outside watching the night sky with his telescope, after investigating the pod the Omnitrix latched onto him as the DNA scanner that was keyed to Max Tennyson's DNA had been damaged by the meteoroid's impact. Soon afterwards his home was attacked by vilgax's drones and since then he's traveled around the country, trying to discover the mysteries behind the alien attacks as well as the omnitrix itself. However, by the time Vilgax came himself he decided to leave the earth both to avoid his own demise and to protect the ones he cared about. This eventually led to him stowing away on a pirate ship where he rescued one of the children of Ma Vreedle and in turn gained a valuable ally in the criminal underworld who taught him many of her ways. He worked as a smuggler-type, flitting the very edge of legality as he took it upon himself to use the omnitrix's powers to bring justice to those who could not protect themselves. Eventually he forged a new home for himself in the anur system and through the way he did things, This eventually led him to the doors of corporations who had been taking advantage of multiple alien species for profit. He spent years busting these corporations from within and gained an infamous reputation among the plumbers and those that worked for them but became something of an actual hero to those who were disenfranchised and saw what he was truly doing. Eventually however, he was still only human, and he fucked up and was caught by the plumbers and brought before azmuth. Azmuth chastised him for the way he had done things and removed the omnitrix BUT due to modifications he had made to it, it caused a genetic feedback loop that infused the DNA of every alien species within the omnitrix into his own.

He would have died, if it wasn't for a new revelation. He was part osmosian, a sub-species of humanity that could absorb energy, materials, and all manner of other things and temporarily increase their own body's capabilities with them. Due to this, his rapid transformations stabilized and he spent the next few years on the verge of insanity as azmuth, angry but remorseful for what had happened to him, worked with him to regain his sanity. Unfortunately, although he was able to regain his original human form, he had limited time left and his mind was forever scarred by what had happened to him. The voices of every single alien that he could once transform into now blasted against his mind and it took everything he had to make sure he didn't go mad. During this time, Azmuth took a look into what he had been doing and sent some of the plumbers to investigate and they found out that...a vast majority of what he did was heroic, even if he took a more villainous path to do so. Azmuth built him a genetic regulator that would keep him in his human form while also acting like an omnitrix in and of itself but drawing from the DNA within tanner rather than from Primus itself. He was sent off to a planet of monks and there he learned to meditate to keep the voices at bay and eventually went off to have adventures in the universe once more. However, Vilgax was on his trail, believing he still had the omnitrix he hunted him down and Tanner came to the conclusion that he would have to keep the charade of being the warrior of the omnitrix in order to protect the warrior that had been chosen after it was taken from him until the day they were ready to fight to defend the universe.
