  1. >You sigh and lean back on the wooden bench as you relax
  2. >Another beautiful day
  3. >Sitting in the park and people watching is better than clicking through a thousand channels on tv with nothing worth seeing
  4. >Counting everyone you can see, you realize there's a lot more women than men out and about
  5. >And every man is either with his girlfriend or wife, or surrounded by family members of the woman variety
  6. >Makes sense, you suppose, considering the new neighbors the dimension next door frequently hopping over and spiriting guys away
  7. >Kicking up your legs on the bench and laying your head on the armrest, you cross your arms and continue watching the crowds go by
  8. >You're not worried
  9. >Why would they take you away? As far as you know, you don't have anything to offer
  10. >Nothing to offer, nothing to fear, right?
  11. >Now that you think about it, there's a LOT of single women around nowadays
  12. >You bring a hand up and absentmindedly stroke the stubble on your chin as you start scoping out some of the ladies
  13. >Maybe you could snag a hottie now
  14. >What choice do they have? The only other men around are already married or gay
  15. >Aside from the poor bastards trapped in an overprotective bubble of mothers and sisters that is
  16. >Guess sometimes it pays to have no family
  17. >Your eyes are drawn to a cute little thing coming your way, long blonde hair and petite body
  18. >You scramble to sit up and make eye contact and the sudden movement gets her attention
  19. >Your eyes meet and you give her a grin, she responding in kind with a small smile of her own
  20. >This is it, she's slowing down and coming towards you
  21. >Hope she doesn't mind you're a step away from a bum with your shit job and shittier apartment
  22. >You give her a cocksure smile and open your mouth to introduce yourself as she gets closer
  23. "Hey there, name's Anon. Take a seat?"
  24. >Her smile wobbles a bit as you can only assume what must be shyness takes over
  25. >"H-Hey, my names Jennifer."
  26. >Score, she's a timid one too
  27. >Before she can sit down, something changes in the air
  28. >She gives you a confused look and you give her one in return
  29. >Your skin starts crawling and your ears begin to ring
  30. >Everyone else in the park starts quieting down as they all notice it too
  31. >As soon as it started, your ears pop and the ringing subsides, your skin no longer itching
  32. >It's dead quiet, no one around speaking
  33. "What the hell was-"
  34. >You're immediately cut off as a loud BANG goes off right behind you, followed by what sounds like ripping paper and a blast of air moving past you, making a mess of both your hair
  35. >Everybody is looking in your direction, staring at you, or rather past you, including Jennifer
  36. >You slowly crane your head behind you to see what's happening only to be greeted by a jagged, black tear in space
  37. >Just, hanging there, getting bigger by the second
  38. "Oh shit, I know what this is!" you yell
  39. >This looks way more impressive in person, seeing it on tv really doesn't do it justice
  40. >Jennifer slides to the front of the bench, putting you between her and the portal
  41. >"I-Is it them?" she asks in a trembling voice
  42. >You turn back to her, nodding, giving her a confused stare when you notice she's hiding behind you
  43. "The hell you hiding for? As far as I know they only come for guys, so some poor bastard is going to get taken today."
  44. >She gives you a sheepish smile and shrugs her shoulders, not moving from her spot
  45. >Looking back to the portal just in time, you see hooves stepping out
  46. >Everyone is watching with baited breath, women pulling their men away or trying to hide them behind their smaller selves
  47. >You snort, trying not to laugh
  48. >It's almost comical watching these tiny women trying to hide these big, taller by a head men behind them
  49. >The first one finally comes through, shortly followed by two more wearing armor, heads swiveling back and forth to take everyone in and taking position to either side of the tear
  50. >You squint, taking their features in
  51. >You're pretty sure the only ones to come through portals have been... mares, is what you call them, like horses
  52. >So it's a pretty good bet they're all female
  53. >The one in front shakes her head and rubs at her eyes, her hair an actually kinda pretty pale pink and white coat, and she has wings
  54. >So a pegasus then, haven't seen one of those yet
  55. >She's sleek and svelte as hell, too, like she's made for speed
  56. >Scanning the crowd, her face lights up when she spots someone
  57. >She suddenly explodes into action and quickly covers the ground between her and some sad schmuck in front
  58. >You can only watch with rapt attention and amusement as the crowd around the shortish dude in front scrambles to move away from him like he has a contagious disease
  59. >He kinda looks like you, actually
  60. >Funny how that works
  61. >He starts desperately looking for someone to help him as the mare comes closer, but she slows down and comes to a stop a handful of feet away, one of her ears flopping to the side as she tilts her head in confusion
  62. >The dude is starting to look pretty panicked now as the little horse looks him up and down in scrutiny, face scrunching up hilariously
  63. >Her ears pin back fully and she says something to him, you can't make it out, but he visibly relaxes and starts backing away from her as her attention shifts to the crowd again
  64. >"Hey, what's going on?" Jennifer says right next to your ear
  65. >You yelp and jump, forgetting she was even there
  66. "Holy- you scared the shit out of me, girl." you say, putting a hand to your heart
  67. >She at least has the decency to look apologetic and mouths 'sorry'
  68. "It's fine," you say. "and I have no idea what's happening."
  69. >Shrugging, you turn back to watch what the mare does next
  70. "Guess she didn't find who she was looking-" you stop dead in your tracks as your eyes meet the pink haired farm animal's across the field where she accosted the shorty
  71. >You can feel your blood run cold as you remember how the other guy looked
  72. >A lot like you...
  73. >Her calculating look breaks into a large smile that spreads from cheek to cheek as she starts prancing in your direction, wings fluttering at her sides
  74. "Oh fuck." you breathe
  75. >You slide off the bench and duck down, using it for cover
  76. >"W-What are you doing? Why are you on the gr- Ah!"
  77. >You cut her off as you yank Jennifer down with you and grab her by the shoulders
  78. "Hide me!" you harshly whisper, "She's coming!"
  79. >The irony of the situation is not lost on you
  80. >Her eyes go wide and she peeks through the wooden backrest, before ducking back down and gaping at you
  81. >"I-I can't! I shouldn't be here!"
  82. >You can't help but give her an incredulous look
  83. "Why are YOU panicking!?" you say, having trouble keeping your voice down "It's ME she's after!"
  84. >She quickly shakes her head, looking more nervous by the second
  85. >"I don't even know you! I'm not getting between THAT and you, those things are strong!"
  86. >You can't believe it, sold down the river and nothing has even happened yet
  87. >The loud clacking of hooves nearing your hiding spot snaps you out of your shock, making you dare to risk sticking your head up to see if it's really you she's after
  88. >You get your answer immediately, coming face to face with the alien as her ecstatic eyes bore into your own, terror filled ones
  89. >At least they're a pretty shade of blue
  90. >Jerking your head back, you give a short, nervous laugh as she leans towards you
  91. "Heyyy... you." you say, giving a nervous flick of your eyes over to a frozen in place Jennifer
  92. >Her smile somehow gets wider and she flutters her eyes at you
  93. >You swear they're actually sparkling
  94. >"I found you..." she says, letting out a giddy giggle and buzz of the wings, "I finally found you."
  95. >Gulping, you try to think quickly and come up with a way out of this
  96. "O-Oh, I see. But I already have a girlfr- I mean fiancée!" you brazenly lie, wrapping an arm around Jennifer's hip and pulling her to your side
  97. >You put on a plastic smile as the little horse's eyebrows shoot up into her mane and she squints at the girl, who's sweating bullets at your side
  98. >Your smile gets a little more strained when your 'fiancée' begins to panic again and tries pushing you off of her, but you refuse to let go
  99. >"I see..." the mare says, squint turning into an angry scowl at the girl, "So YOU'RE the one for MY one and only, then?"
  100. >Jennifer looks like she's about to cry as her lower lip trembles, you're starting to feel bad for her at this poi-
  101. >"No! I don't even know him! I want nothing to do with him at all!"
  102. >And sympathy gone
  103. >Somehow this just makes the mare angrier, her wings snapping open as she snorts
  104. >"Are you saying he's not good enough for you!?" she angrily says, voice cracking as she reaches higher pitch
  105. >Okay, this is getting out of control
  106. >You let go of Jennifer and raise your hands to try calming everyone down, you don't want to get trampled by a horse
  107. >But as soon as you do, Jennifer takes her chance and books it out of there to leave you on your own
  108. >Your arms drop back down to your sides as you watch her disappear around a bend, your hope for getting out of this leaving with her
  109. "Well fuck."
  110. >The mare in front of you sticks her snout into the air with a 'hmph' and flicks her tail
  111. >"Some 'fiancée' you have there," she dryly says, "But it looks like you're free again."
  112. >She struts around the bench you've been using as a barrier and stops in front of you, smiling again
  113. >"How about you come home with me and I show you how a REAL mare treats her man, hm?"
  114. >She bats her eyelashes and fans her wings out, showing off her plumage, mane framing the side of her face like drapes
  115. >You nervously laugh and take a step back, but she takes another forward
  116. "L-Look, you're... nice and all, but I hardly know you and going back to live with you is moving a little fast and-" you're interrupted by her powerful wings giving a single flap, propelling her upwards to hover eye level with you
  117. >She places a hoof onto your chest and gazes deeply in your eyes, hers holding a sadness that actually tugs at your heart
  118. >"It's okay, Anon, I understand." she says
  119. >You give her a bewildered look
  120. "How did you know my na-" she interrupts you again
  121. >"You're used to your own mares- women, even. You don't know how much better I can be yet, how we're a perfect match made by the Crystal Heart and by extension Harmony itself."
  122. >You stare blankly at her, you have no idea what the hell she's talking about
  123. >She smiles warmly, settling back down on the ground and hopping up to put her forelegs on your belly, caressing your cheek with a wing
  124. >It's incredibly soft and smells like ozone
  125. >It also kinda tickles
  126. >"But it's okay, you'll understand eventually." she says
  127. >Ohhkay, that's not creepy sounding at all
  128. "Could you make it sound anymore ominous?" you say sarcastically
  129. >She giggles, a sweet and airy sound, eyes sparkling again
  130. >She gently bats at your chest with a hoof, smiling up at you
  131. >"Please, you'd think I'm some kind of demon from Tartarus. I'm not here to hurt you, I'm here to LOVE you, silly."
  132. >The corner of your lip curls into a half smile and you look away
  133. >That's kinda... sweet, you guess
  134. >You've never had someone tell you that before
  135. >She's still a horse though
  136. >Looking away from her now, you can see the crowd distantly gathered around you both, phones out and recording, whispering between each other
  137. >Oh boy, that's not good
  138. >You can hear the distant sound of sirens, a lot of them in fact
  139. "Okay, listen, uhh-"
  140. >"Cherry Cream." she chirps
  141. "-Cherry, you should probably be getting out of here. The cops are coming and they don't really care much for uh... your... kind. That's not racist is it?"
  142. >She laughs and hops down from your belly
  143. >"No, it's fine, I get it." she says, looking in the direction the sirens are approaching from
  144. >She looks back to you, mischievous grin on her face
  145. >Before you can react she quickly pushes you over back onto the bench and flaps up into your lap
  146. >You're still recovering from the tingling in your stomach from suddenly falling backwards when she reaches up and presses her forehead to yours, using her wings as curtains to hide your faces from the crowd
  147. >Nervous and with a question on your lips, she slides her wings behind your head and slowly pulls you forward, cradling you in her feathers, and gives you a soft, gentle kiss
  148. >Right on your nose
  149. >She breaks into her musical laughter again as your eyes cross at her and confusion plays across your face
  150. >"I'm not going to steal away your first kiss until you're ready for me to." she says as she slides her wings back into position at her sides, brushing your ears as they pass
  151. >You blush, both at her consideration and her 'first kiss' remark
  152. "H-how did you know I haven't-"
  153. >She gently places the tip of her hoof against your lips
  154. >"Crystal Heart, remember?" she says, eyes full of mischief
  155. >Of course
  156. >She leans in close and whispers in your ear
  157. >"If it makes you feel any better... that would've been my first kiss too."
  158. >She leans back, smiling shyly, eyes vulnerable, soft pink mane almost glowing in the sunlight
  159. >You swallow a lump in your throat
  160. >D-Damn ponies shouldn't have this effect on you
  161. >The moment is immediately ruined by a loud voice calling out to you from the portal
  162. >"Cherry Cream!" one of the guard mares in armor yells, "We have to go, now! The authorities are nearly on scene!"
  163. >"Okay, I'm coming!" yelled Cherry, "Just give me a second!"
  164. >She turns back to you and reaches out with a wing again, gently brushing a primary along your cheek and down your neck, as though she'll miss the feeling, making your face heat up again
  165. >She's made you blush more in five minutes than you have all month
  166. >"I'll come back," she says, then grins, "You haven't seen the last of me, I'll bring you back home someday."
  167. >You cock an eyebrow at her, fighting through the heat in your cheeks and fluttering in your chest
  168. "How do you expect to find me a second time?"
  169. >Through half lidded eyes, she looks directly into yours
  170. >"Through the power of Love, of course." she says huskily, then pauses, "Also Twilight's tracking spell." she says with a giggle
  171. >You sputter
  172. "T-track-"
  173. >"CHERRY! MOVE!" you're interrupted by the other guard, the sirens blaring now, emergency response vehicle rounding the corner to the park
  174. >Cherry leaps off your lap and takes to the air, giving a hasty goodbye and shooting past the guards, into the portal
  175. >They follow immediately after her, the tear sealing closed quickly behind them and not a moment too soon
  176. >There's a half dozen police cruisers on scene thirty seconds later, officers storming into the park and searching the area
  177. >You're still sitting on your bench, somewhat shell shocked as to what just happened
  178. >You were chosen by aliens, and now they're going to keep coming back until you willingly go with them
  179. >Could be worse fates, you suppose
  180. >Could've been the abduct-y, probe-y types
  181. >Your musings are cut short by a very big, very stern looking officer walking up to you
  182. >He looks to you, then to a couple of large, creamy feathers left behind by your... companion
  183. >He speaks in a very gruff voice
  184. >"Let's have a little chat."
  185. >Great
  186.
  187. Okay, that would be it for now. I'll probably continue this, eventually, depending on the reception.
