The main idea has been trying to find the creeks within the area of the LOST poster. Logic being that nobody would put a lost pet sign up in a place that animal has never been seen.

  1154. Looking at the trees, they have 5 distinct features. UpBare DownBare UpNeedles DownNeedles and Knots. E ach feature is a single digit, so pairs of features matter, not individual trees; so every 2 features is 1 letter. So you end up with 22 features, which in Poly is 11 letters. Since the first tree and the last tree have the same features, it stands to reason that the code starts and ends with the same letter (because their number value would be the same). Someone smarter than me realized that the location was probably in Oregon, so assumed the last two letters were OR, which meant the first letter was also R. After that it was simple trial and error; using standard pattern recognition and letter substitution, he was able to fill in the first two letters as vowels (since letters 2 and 3 are the same, they had to be vowels). The only place that fit REE...OR was Reedsport, OR. It could then be verified by encoding REEDSPORTOR into a Polybius sequence, and then matching up the tree features with the encoded numerical form. (NOTE: typical 5x5 Polybius squares exclude the letter J; this method involved excluding the letter Q instead.)

So here's the deal: It appears that the presence of our fellow Fallers brought in a concern from the owners of the land/land nearby and the statue has unfortunately now been removed from its location by local law enforcement. We are trying to determine what is going on, but until we have the full information we ask that people respect everyone involved. This was not what any of us wanted, but it is just how things go sometimes. Hopefully Bill will be visitable again soon.

  1306. An update on the hat situation: according to @Saturn , the Confusion Hill staff have revealed that Bill is getting a new hat around next week! Although the hat situation is seemingly resolved, the treasure chest is still nowhere to be found, with no further information available on its location at this time.
