  1.
  2. the desert lands are goverend by three main satropys with a satrap being the head of each group
  3.
  4. the eastern satrapy has the lush riverlands which flood during the rainy seasons, their land provides the bumper crop food for the entire desert land
  5.
  6. the eastern satrapy was owned by a wealthy trader family but nearly their entire family was assasinated from various pirate lords going along the massive river
  7.
  8. the 2nd most wealthy trader family is positioning themselves to become the new satrap as soon as the other family's wealth runs out and it seems it will soon
  9.
  10. there are two main pirate lords that control the river and operate more like a gang than a typical pirate group
  11.
  12. one pirate group controls the north, and sinks the ships of the people who try and fish on his turf
  13.
  14. the other group controls the south and captures the people that cross him. The men serve the oars the women are tortured.
  15.
  16. the southern desert land are the oldest satrapy, their city is a long travel through a harsh desert, and while the city is built on an oasis, there is no other water source
  17.
  18. the southern satrap is loved by all of his people for he is kind and generous, he provides many services to his people who are mostly scholars and artists
  19.
  20. they manage their limited resources extremely well, very educated people own one of the largest papyrus libraries in the world
  21.
  22. the western satrapy contains the great city of the desert lands, however it is dusty and dirty and poorly maintained
  23.
  24. the leader is corrupt and gives all his responisibilities to whichever noble house or gang lord will take and as such he holds no real power
  25.
  26. the city is massive, but the houses are ramshackle, it's extremely dirty, the people are on guard from muggers and burgelers in the streets
  27.
  28. the distrust of the commonfolk makes it extremely dangerous for outsiders, whomst the traders attempt to scam and the theivs steal from
  29.
  30. all three satraps of this land are a part of a larger collective of 4 small neighboring countries that were forced into peace by their huge neighbor to the north
  31.
  32. the 2nd land in the collective is on the holy land, they believe their country is sacred and none shall be allowed in other than for worship
  33.
  34. basically isreal tbh xd
  35.
  36. the 3rd land in the collective is a long stretched country that contains the mountain range on the edge of the desert (all deserts are surrounded by mountains geographically in real life btw)
  37.
  38. these mountanous people ride on llamas and alpacas as no horse can stand the steep hills the paths in their lands take
  39.
  40. each city is independent to eachother they have their own laws and regulations, but they will all answer to the Nfazi that the capital city
  41.
  42. the Nfazi are a scimitar weilding police force that patrol the entire mountain range maintining order and the laws of the capital
  43.
  44. dispite the Nfazi's best efforts, the mountains are a huge place with many cave systems and overhangs, this country is very often used to hide fleeing criminals from other countries
  45.
  46. it is also believed that secret criminal organizations most likley hold their main base of operations in this land
  47.
  48. the 4th country is on very fertile soil and contains many mines full of precious gems, it is an extremely wealthy land full of traders, delivering their rare goods at enormous profit in other countries
  49.
  50. their land is full of lavish buildings and plants and people. However if you do not wish to be a trader traveling to other countries, and are not aprt of the wealthy family then you will work the mines
  51.
  52. the mines are a foul smelling, hot terrible working condition for terrible pay. While not technically slaves, no one works the mines if they have any choice
  53.
  54. the wealthy familys exploit the mine workers to further increase their own wealth. This country also has the largest army in the collective as they can pay to feed a large stading fighting force
  55.
  56. during the war for the collective with the great nation to the north they bought ownership of the other three countries in the collective and whilst they don’t own their governements
  57.
  58. the other countries rely so heavily on the 4th countries goods that they can teriff or blackmain control at any moment
  59.
  60. the great northern nation is a communist utopia, everyone does the job their the best at and supports the lord's great land
  61.
  62. the northern nation is a united utopia so there are no ranks amongst the people officially but there are some cities that are empoverished and some much better off
  63.
  64. the cities on the border to the 4 nations in the collective are never really recovered from the war. The people there work hard but are not allowed to leave.
  65.
  66. the most southern town is a trading post for dealings with the collectives large number of traders, the town also acts as a boarder patrol and does not allow these people to enter the lords great land
  67.
  68. the prices are set and the goods are traded and distributed through the rest of the great country.
  69.
  70. This work is dangerous, as theives often wait for the merchants to get denied access to the country at the border and steal their goods.
  71.
  72. gang violence is very quiet in these lands as each person holds a stable job that the government has assigned them. But the pay is so poor they turn to muggery to supplement their income
  73.
  74. more inwards the country is not much better, given the huge amount of land the great land has, very little of it is actually suitible for farming in. the ground is rocky and the winters are harsh
  75.
  76. the people must still farm due to the huge number of people in the country and they are not paid by how much food they produce as a designated farmer so the crops suffer further
  77.
  78. the farming cities surrounding the capital in the center are all pathetic compared to the great farmlands in the collective. Farmers keep most of the food for themselves and lie to officials
  79.
  80. food is very sparcely distributed to anywhere outside of the capital, so the people in these lands are often lean and sickly looking
  81.
  82. the people are miserable but the army is everywhere. There are constant people watching your every move here. Group organizing is strictly forbidden
  83.
  84. so crime is limited to individuals mostly, but underground a resistance exists, it is so well hidden that no one knows anything about it beyond the name "men without masks"
  85.
  86. the city is a huge place, all of the wealth from the country must go through the capital for inspection and counting before it can be distrubuted elsewhere
  87.
  88. as such this is where the corruption takes place. The pay is so bare minimum that nearly the entire city participates in kickbacks and miscounting of goods
  89.
  90. the leader regularly distributes fliers that declare how great their leader and their country is, the people pray to their leader every morning before starting work under watch of the guard
