Synopsis: delia is a therapist treating beetlejuice after a downward spiral/overdose/suicide attempt in out patient care, she secretly hires him as a music teacher/babysitter for lydia and they start to become close. The maitlands are bj's neighbors and slowly develop a friendship and then eventually romance with Beetlejuice and help take care of lydia and him tbh.

Firstly with the deetz family (including delia):

-Emily died with lyida was still pretty young (like 6 or 7) so younger than the musical but they were still incredibly close and completley destroyed lydia and charles when she died.

-charles is a successful real estate lawyer and makes pretty good money. Emily renovated old homes and genuinely enjoyed it.

-like the musical they fixed up their old home together.

-lydia still enoys photography and got into from her mother, emily looks lots of pictures of the homes she renovated and lydia really like taking them and photography in general became her passion

-lydia was already pretty "dark" and "wierd" before her mother's death but she was alot more happy. After her mother died her grades slipped and she became increasingly more rebellious. Talking about death and the occult more and more. She still loves photography one of the few things she cares about after emily dies.

-charlies doesnt know how to handle emily's death, like the musical he's bad with expressing emotions. Its incredibly hard for him to cope and he has a nervous break down and moves to Connecticut with lydia and starts working again.

-he meets delia while signing lydia up for therapy. (He doesnt think he needs it)

-delia at this point is doing clinical training/internship and finishing up school

-delia used to be deep into new age mumbo jumbo "life coaching" in her younger days but realized it was mostly a scam and wanted to actually help people so went to school for therapy a while before she met charles.

-she still loves spirtual stuff,crystals, new age stuff but to a much healthier extent now and still wants to incorporate it somewhat into her therapy, including art therapy.

-falls in love with charles over the course if a few months if lydia going into therapy, they talk alot of their free time and eventually see eachother outside if that and begin a secret romance. Sneaking out and sleeping together, secret dates,ect. (They obviously cant let people know because their relationship is very unprofessional)

-since charles is pretty well off he helps pay delia's studebt loans and delia falls for him even more.

-their secret relationship lasts until delia is finished with school completley and clinical intern training about a year later? And they become more open about their relationship and soon after charles proposes because he loves delia and wants a good mother figure for lydia

-lydia gets angry and hwr rebellious streak gets worse,resents delia and they have a strained relationship

-delia actually loves lydia and her creative spirit although she hates the gloom and doom and wabts to be a good mother to her and finally get through to her

- when delia graduates charles pays for a  rental building (one of those small house type ones) where she starts treating patients.

-she isn't respected by other people in her feild as much because shes eccentric and still abit into the new age stuff but her patients love her because she actually cares and will take patients who are harder to treat.

-enter Lawrence Betelgeuse (i might use the original last name given to him but still not sure) one of her newer patients who's a fucking mess.

Beetlejuice and juno:

-juno was a successful buisness woman who didnt intend on having children she enjoyed having money, casual partners, and her freedom

-after one particlar night with a man she was seeing she realizes he got her pregnant

-he agrees to marry her and help take care of the child thinking maybe they can work it out and maybe they're actually in love

- they're wrong. He and juno get married and have lawrence and things slowly get worse

- bj's dad never has a stable job, juno tries to be a stay at home mom (mainly through convincing of bj's dad) and fight all the time.

-alchohol addiction gets worse and they emotionally and verbally abuse bj

-beetlejuice's father leaves when he's around age 8-10

-bj already had a tough time in school due to adhd (which juno and his father wouldnt get him diagnosed for because they're from an older generation where its alot more stigmatized) but ontop of family problems and his father leaving bj increasingly gets worse in school and his teachers can barley handle him.

-Juno's drinking gets worse and she straight up neglets beetljuice

- after a meeting with beetlejuice's teacher's seeing bj's failing grades ontop of constantly getting in trouble in school juno decides to make a change. Juno doesn't want bj to be like his father and a completley failure/embarrassment

-this is close to when bj is entering middle school

-gets her life somewhat back together, starts working again and slowly rises up in the ranks.

-this doesnt mean its for the better though she's still an abusive alcoholic (and chain smoker) and pushes bj to be the best in class making sure by any means necessary he gets good grades.

-juno constantly compares bj to his father and his slips up even a little reminds him of what a failure they both are.

-bj is desprate for his mother's approval and affection and wants to prove her wrong as well. He also blames himself for everything wrong that happened in her especially since she constanly blames him.

- juno pays for the best tutors she can and hounds bj all the time about his grades and appearance so he wont embarass her.

-bj actually likes band and music and become his special interests/passion

-juno takes this to her advantage and encourages his interest in music to make them look better.

- gets the best music teachers she can, makes sure he keeps up music and band and gets good grades in those

-its less fun for him but he wants to make his mom happy and still genuinly loves music

- later in bj's highschool years he starts drinking and smoking pot but it doesn't effect his grades as much he mostly does it when he can sneak out to a party and see the few friends he does have.

-bj still have behavioral problems due to undiagnosed adhd and bpd

-wants to attend Juilliard and so does his mom in convinced thats his dream school and thats what they're working for

-beetlejuice still graduates with pretty great grades but gets rejected by Juilliard making juno incredibly dissapointed and she verbally harasses him more. Ontop of threatening to not support him in college.

-bj gets into his second choice. Although juno is upset she supports him but says he's on thin ice and one slip up means she's cutting him off completley

-bj sleeps a round in college and doesnt have a stable girlfriend really, due to multiple reasons but mainly because he doenst think he can juggle his grades and a relationship.

-bj has always had a great sense of humour and loves making people laugh including his classmates, he stillclikes to pull little pranks and even in his senior year if highschool helped pull the senior prank. He continues to be a class clown but still keeps his grades up so its acceltable.

-starts going by his middle name during college

- beetlejuice works pretty hard and college but found time to make friends and party on weekends. Through these social circles experiments with harder drugs like cocaine and psychedelics. Beetle juice also starts smoking tabacoo more heavily to deal with the stress of school

- he sells a little on the side for extra cash at first but doesnt want it effecting grades especially because of juno.

-he slowly becomes somewhat of a successful dealer and makes decent money selling to people outside his college and in the city.

-some of his customers include many wealthy people including socialites one of them being miss argentina (i might call her angela in this too but im not 100% sure yet) a rising model and beauty pageant queen with major self esteem issues. (Shes the same age as him maybe a little older?)

-miss A is bulimic and also self harms due to the high expectations people put on her and harmful beauty standards (even worse because she's a pageant queen/model) including many of her agents, "friends", partners,ect. Manipulating her, abusing her, and taking advantage if her.

-bj being her dealer sees him more and more and they become friends. They see eachother outside of the parties and other places be sells to her and her social group and become close.

-one day bj has enough of seeing her being taken advantage if and abused and kicks her boyfriend at the time's ass getting into a huge fight.

-bj and miss A start dating

-beetlejuice graduates college for classical guitar
(He knows how to play classic, acoustic, and electric guitar and also can llay the ukelele) and music theory

- juno is proud of him for the first time in a long ass time

-through bj's time in college she moves to a different and nicer home. Once bj graduates she gives him the old house as a gift.

-Juno is not only happy that bj successfully graduated but also that he has a steady girlfriend who's pretty, smart, and a beauty queen/model. She loves miss A

-after college bj's cocaine and alcohol addiction steadily gets worse as well as miss A but to a lesser extent because she has an image to keep.

- beetlejuice continues to sell drugs this time its his main source of income but he does find work elsewhere

- juno has no clue about beetlejuice's addiction or the fact he sells drugs. If she visits they hide it from her except alchohol

-while bj isn't abusive or manipulative to miss A his spiraling addiction ontop of having undiagnosed bpd and adhd makes it hard to live with him. Bj's mood swings get worse, burts of anger are more frequent, its harder for him to keep a job that isnt dealing drugs. Bj still loves her to death and she's his whole world, he makes empty promises he'll get help with her and stop dealing.

- they're house is a mess, they barley keep up with it or their lawn, and back yard. It sticks out loke a sore thumb in their neighborhood.

-bj starts to sell from his house occasionally but mainly when miss A isnt home because she doesnt like it being traced to their home especially since they can get thrown into prison. The neighbors already hate then enough and are suspicious.

-miss A also comes to realize she's a lesbian but still loves bj very much even if its not romantic and wants to stay and help him as she starts to get clean and go to rehab but bj refuses to actually seek help.

-one day bj comes home and all her things are packed, miss A explains that she can't live like this anymore and that if he doesn't get help she's gone as well as comes out to bj as a lesbian.

-bj accepts she doesnt love him romatically (bj comes out to her as pan) but refuses to get help causing her to leave. She doesn't want to cut ties for good but tells bj to keep his distance until he goes to rehab and tells him she'll always care about him.

-bj goes down a deep spiral lasting a months. His substabce abuse gets worse, as well as binge drinking, selling drugs is his only source of income at the time. Sleeps with countless women and men.

-his neighbors hate him even more and know miss A left him. Constant stares and whispers when he actually leaves the house.

-one of these neighbors are the new maitland, a married called named adam and barbara (more on them soon)

-this all goes on until one night he decides to attempt suicide (not 100% sure how rn but probably by overdose)

- beetlejuice gets found by a stranger and gets hospitalized going through inpatient treatment and spends a while in the hospital and agrees to get clean, go to rehab, seek help and a diagnosis.

-beetlejuice goes to rehab and seeks help but continues smoking weed, that and ninge eating are his two vices.

-bj gets released from the hospital and and is currently in rehab and getting therapy from delia deetz who's determined to help him even if he's stubborn

- although bj is getting help he's still deeply dpressed and suicidal but tries his best to get better for him and miss A

-doesnt have a steady job, takes odd jobs and such for cash at the moment.

-barley leaves the house other than the odd jobs be takes which aren't many or for late night food trips.

-pajamas,sweatpants, and raggity/ripped up old clothes are his signature look

- bj likes delia and appreciates her help especially since she refuses to give up on him but does find her a bit weird and obnoxious at times

-beetlejuice tells delia he's having a hard time paying bills and making a living which gives her an idea.

-lydia's behavior and rebelious streak is getting worse, ontop of that she scares all her baby sitters away. Shes also still very distant to delia and charles.

-delia asks bj to give her music lessons and babysit since she has to take clients and charles is often busy hoping this could help them both.

-delia knows lydia will love bj.

-bj isnt sure at first he's not great with kids and not to mention his whole fucked up situation and the fact that its not really proffessional for their relationship but he's desparate for cash and delia is desparate to get through to her step daughter and find someone who understands her

- bj agrees and they keep it a secret especially from charles who has no clue about beetlejuice's past or that he's a patient of hers. As far has he know delia found him online and he's actually happy that lydia will be learning music and maybe have a babysitter that won't run away.

-bj also has to promise to stay sober, out of touble, continue to go to treatment/therapy.

-lets just say lydia and bj hit it off pretty well from the beginning and become closer over time, bj becoming lime a uncle/big brother to her.

The maitlands:

-perfect couple, completely meant for eachother, they understand eachothers thoughts and feelings very well, can talk they're problems out easy. Barbara and adam are madly in love. They talk to eaxhotber about (almost) everything

- highschool sweet hearts that stayed together throughout school, they even went to college together.

- adam and barbara love reading books, especially old ones

- they also have a pretty extensive music collection

-barbara and adam were nerds in highschool, barbara and adam met in the library trying to find the same obscure book.

-they both came from middle class suburban homes and pushed to kewp up good grades and go to good colleges. Barbara's parents were more strict though

-barbra took different art classes in school as extracurriculars but didnt really take them seriously especially she focused more on her core classes although she did find it fun and therapeutic

- barbara goes through a great deal of stress because of the high expectations put on her and frequently has panic attacks when she gets especially stressed . barbara also has a good deal of anxiety as well as adam.

- they're able to cope pretty well together and help eachother through their anxiety.

- barbara and adam go to the same college together to the school they both wanted to go to everything at first is fine but barbara changes her major a few times because she doesnt know what she actually wants to do with her life she feels like she was pressured by her parents her whole life.

-during college barbara gets pregnant, although its unexpected they are both excited because they wanted have a babyand get married in the first place.

- barbara and adam decided to get married during college and beg their parents, they decide keep the pregnancy a secret until after the wedding.

- they have a small intimate wedding which is what they want.

-after the wedding they announce their pregnancy and barbara continues to attend college until her first miscarriage.

-barbara spirals into a depression and drops out of school for a year, takes up hobbies, painting, gardening, pottery,ect. To distract herself and to cope, sells her art online to make money.

-barbara attempts to go back to college and become a pediatrician

-adam eventually graduates and gets a degree in woodworking and helps at his family's hardware store

-barbara continues college and gets pregnant a second time. Both adam and barbara try their best to keep this baby but barbara has her second miscarriage.

-barbara drops out of school again and spirals inti another depression. She goes back to making money through her hobbies online.

-adam and Barbara decide to move away from home especially due to the judgement if their family and neighbors.

- they dont have alot of money so they buy a old run down conneticut home they plan to renovate and start a family in.

-adam takes a job at a local hardware store and Barbara continues selling her creations online and doing her hobbies.

-they move in next to beetlejuice during the beginning of his downward spiral and the other neighbors warn them about him.

-adam and barbara hate beetlejuice for a while. He's a terrible neighbor, noisy epsecially at night, thetre pretty sure he's selling drugs out of his house, his front lawn is a mess, bottles of beer and liquor tossed around the yard amongst other things, strange people come in and out of his house all the time. They have no clue how he hasn't been arrested yet.

- whenever bj does interacts with them its always flirting and they constantly have to tell him to stop. They hope he goes away by the time they have their child because they don't want to raise them around beetlejuice. Bj is attracted to them both but knows they dont like him.

- after beetlejuice's suicide attempt while he's still being hospitalized Barbara gets pregnant again and they both are very careful, they do everything possible to get the baby follow tons of advice,ect.

-Barbara is still pregnant when bj comes back but he's very different, quiet, keeps to himself, stays inside most of the time, barley intereacts with them, no more parties or guests or drug deals he mostly just smokes pot in his house or cigarettes in his back yard Barbara and adam are just happy he's alot better neighbor now.

-a little whe after barbara has her 3rd miscarrage and spirals into her deepest depression yet. She barley leaves the house, eats, or talks she mainly sits in bed or on the couch all day listening to records or reading. She fears adam blames her for everything (he doesn't) and begins to have self destructive suicidal thoughts but doesn't go through with them. She still sells things online but less than before, she's having a harder time even doing her hobbies.

-pajamas and a big fuzzy robe are her signature look at the time

-bj notices she's been acting strange and staying home all day, he doesnt want to be nosy but he see's her all the time abd actually is pretty conserned because he recognizes the way she's acting not to mention he noticed that there was no baby after she was pregnant and heard from tbe neighbors she had a miscarriage. He doesn't attempt to say anything for a whole because he knows they do not like him so he keeps his distance.

-one day while smoking in his backyard he hears crying and things being smashed next door he peeks over the gate and its barbara his neighbor smashing things like canvases, pottery, ect. In their back yard while crying her eyes out. The last thing that gets destroyed is the crib adam restored for their future child which she instantly regrets and makes her cry more. Beetlejuice finally speaks up and asks her whats wrong.

-she tells him to leave her alpne at first but he offers to help her clean up the mess and she begrudgingly accepts abd they clean up the back yard together where they make small talk.

- beetlejuice attempts to leave after he helps her clean up not wanting to push anyhting but she invites him inside for tea and snacks. Barbara opens up about her miscarriages and her frustrations to beetlejuice including the the rare things she doesn't tell adam even though she has no clue why becuase she really used to hate bj but he's being very sweet and listening. Beetljuice in return opens up a bit about himself but of course not too much (you have to reach a certain trust level to unlock the full tragic back story lmao)

- barbara genuinely enjoys his company and they talk about music until he leaves later before adam comes home. Bj can feel himself getting attached to Barbara (ruh-roh)

-adam is concerned about Barbara's outburst while he was at work but not mad, he of course comforts her. Barbara doesnt tell adam about the beetlejuice part at first though.

- barbara starts to slowly feel better and wa ts to thank beetlejuice for his kindness. She comes up to his house one day with cookies as a thank you and meet lydia when he first starts babysitting he.

-barbara assumes that lydia is his kid at first but he explains he's her music teacher/babysitter and he doesnt have children (that he knows of). She thinks it's sweet hes watching lydia and teaching her music especially since shes a kid and Barbara adores children.

- barbara stays and hangs out enjoying lydia and bj's company. And their friendship grows a bit.

-barbara and adam grow more fond of bj overtime although it takes adam a little more time not only how he used to be but his constant flirting with them. Adam doesnt really trust bj around his wife and feels like bj is treating ber like a "manic pixie dream girl"

-it takes barbara and adam a while to realize they're attracted to beetlejuice.

-during the current time when bj first. Babysits lydia is 13-14, Barbara and Adam are 29-30, bj is 31-32 probably.
