- [5/24/2013 12:15:48 PM] Gaserlake: K23232323232323232323
- [5/24/2013 12:15:50 PM] Gaserlake: There.
- [5/24/2013 12:15:53 PM] Gaserlake: That's much better.
- [5/24/2013 12:17:16 PM] Gaserlake: Let's see...
- [5/24/2013 12:17:39 PM] Gaserlake: Oh yes! The leveling system. I have 20 minutes to go before I'm prematurely terminated.
- [5/24/2013 12:17:49 PM] Gaserlake: So let's do the leveling system in 20 minutes! :D
- [5/24/2013 12:18:04 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: Lol it's just us
- [5/24/2013 12:18:10 PM] Gaserlake: That makes it more fun.
- [5/24/2013 12:18:14 PM] Gaserlake: :P
- [5/24/2013 12:18:35 PM] Gaserlake: 2 people have to figure out how to do the leveling system in 20 minutes, otherwise one of them dies.
- [5/24/2013 12:18:40 PM] Gaserlake: It's like Saw!
- [5/24/2013 12:18:43 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: O_O
- [5/24/2013 12:18:47 PM] Gaserlake: :3
- [5/24/2013 12:19:40 PM] Gaserlake: Don't worry dude. There's pizza in the middle of this... injected with heroin...
- [5/24/2013 12:19:47 PM] Gaserlake: So yeah. Enjoy. :3
- [5/24/2013 12:19:59 PM] Gaserlake: Gaserlake eats pizza.
- [5/24/2013 12:20:03 PM] Gaserlake: Fuck, I'm high.
- [5/24/2013 12:20:24 PM] Gaserlake: Okay. Leveling system. You have to beat a level to get to the next one... Damn this is gonna be revolutionary.
- [5/24/2013 12:20:35 PM] Gaserlake: Of course... members can just do cheat codes to skip all the way to the last level.
- [5/24/2013 12:20:50 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: lol
- [5/24/2013 12:21:19 PM] Gaserlake: Leveling system is completely optional. We don't want members to feel that they are forced through a fixed system.
- [5/24/2013 12:21:30 PM] Gaserlake: Soooo... we just highly recommend it.
- [5/24/2013 12:21:36 PM] Gaserlake: Duh. lol
- [5/24/2013 12:22:15 PM] Gaserlake: We warn them what could happen if they skip the leveling system, like getting caught WAAAAY off guard.
- [5/24/2013 12:22:25 PM] Gaserlake: Like, "HOLY SHIT I DIDN"T EXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN! X.X"
- [5/24/2013 12:22:29 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: mhm.
- [5/24/2013 12:22:57 PM] Gaserlake: And then umm... umm... ummm...... ummmmmmm.... Oh yeah! We need to figure out how many levels there are.
- [5/24/2013 12:23:23 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: Gaser, mate, we can't do this with two people.
- [5/24/2013 12:23:30 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: We need everyone's input.
- [5/24/2013 12:23:30 PM] Gaserlake: FUCK!
- [5/24/2013 12:23:40 PM] Gaserlake: Who else is gonna eat all the heroin-injected pizza, then?
- [5/24/2013 12:23:42 PM] Gaserlake: >.<
- [5/24/2013 12:23:54 PM] Gaserlake: OH WELL! MOAR FOR ME! :3
- [5/24/2013 12:24:18 PM] Gaserlake: Gaserlake eats all of the pizza and dies a prematurely premature termination.
- [5/24/2013 12:24:33 PM] Gaserlake: Cuz I died in less than the 20-minute mark. >.>
- [5/24/2013 12:24:45 PM] Gaserlake: died before the*
- [5/24/2013 12:24:46 PM] Gaserlake: Anyway...
- [5/24/2013 12:25:25 PM] Gaserlake: Can I just say MY input for the leveling system, then, just to get it out of the way, and so people, such as I, can refer to it for future reference?
- [5/24/2013 12:25:35 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: go ahead
- [5/24/2013 12:25:39 PM] Gaserlake: Yay.
- [5/24/2013 12:25:59 PM] Gaserlake: Damn, I'm high... hang on...\
- [5/24/2013 12:28:46 PM] Gaserlake: Gonna write this in pastebin...
- [5/24/2013 12:30:32 PM] Gaserlake: K2, you there?
- [5/24/2013 12:30:39 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: Yes.
- [5/24/2013 12:30:45 PM] Gaserlake: You went offline.
- [5/24/2013 12:30:53 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: o.o
- [5/24/2013 12:31:03 PM] Gaserlake: Or plus.im is fucking up. >.<
- [5/24/2013 12:31:59 PM] Gaserlake: Okay...
- [5/24/2013 12:31:59 PM] Gaserlake: There are going to be x levels, where 2x is the derivative of x^2 + C.
- [5/24/2013 12:32:10 PM] Gaserlake: Wait... wtf...
- [5/24/2013 12:41:49 PM] Gaserlake: http://pastebin.com/e9QXHDL8
- [5/24/2013 12:41:50 PM] Gaserlake: Kay.
- [5/24/2013 12:42:00 PM] Gaserlake: I got to go, now. I died 2 minutes ago. Meh.
- [5/24/2013 12:42:05 PM] Gaserlake: Laters, all.
- [5/24/2013 12:42:07 PM] Kaleb the Sexy Robot.: k lol
- [5/24/2013 3:47:16 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: What about takeovers? The point of the level system was to prevent members from being wiped out before they have a chance.
- [5/24/2013 3:47:21 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: You didn't even mention that
- [5/24/2013 6:36:10 PM] Gaserlake: That was one point I forgot, sorry. >.<
- [5/24/2013 6:37:19 PM] Gaserlake: Umm... they would have protection until... lvl 2, I would think.
- [5/24/2013 6:37:55 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: They need protection until they can request their own faction and have at least survived a few battles
- [5/24/2013 6:40:48 PM] Gaserlake: I was thinking that was what the protection meant, that the protection was until they get their own faction. However, the protection should also apply the the characters they own, as well, I would think... I mean, I would think that their characters would face death several times before they get to own a faction.
- [5/24/2013 6:41:28 PM] Gaserlake: So I would say lvl 3, but lvl 3 tops.
- [5/24/2013 6:41:43 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: It's not exactly protection it's more immunity.
- [5/24/2013 6:42:01 PM] Gaserlake: That's what I meant by protection. Protection as in immunity.
- [5/24/2013 6:42:09 PM] Gaserlake: But I guess I used teh wrong word for it.
- [5/24/2013 6:42:10 PM] Gaserlake: the*
- [5/24/2013 6:45:11 PM] Gaserlake: This is a recommended step. The recommended route would be to explore and stuff, and to try to avoid conflict. It wouldn't make sense to send new players into the front lines. That would severely demotivate them.
- [5/24/2013 6:45:30 PM] Gaserlake: Unless, of course, they want to take the boot camp route, lol.
- [5/24/2013 6:45:43 PM] Gaserlake: Hey... that might be another idea...
- [5/24/2013 6:45:45 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: ...
- [5/24/2013 6:45:58 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Please don't militariaze the level system >.>
- [5/24/2013 6:46:38 PM] Gaserlake: lol
- [5/24/2013 6:47:44 PM] Gaserlake: Well... I think there are two choices: The recommended way, which is the leveling system, and the bootcamp way, which is NOT taking the recommended way. Bootcamp way means that we treat them as if they know what they're doing, and not treat them like new members.
- [5/24/2013 6:49:14 PM] Gaserlake: The bootcamp way is for the confident ones who want to go straight into the action.
- [5/24/2013 6:49:38 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: It shouldn't be up to us what to do it should be up to the members entirely. If they want to do lvl 3 and skip lvl 1 and 2 because they have RPing experience, then let them. If they want to do lvl 1 and after they have confidence they're ready to be a full member and want to skip the rest let them! If they want to skip the entire damn thing because they think they can survivie? Let them.
- [5/24/2013 6:50:01 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: It's supposed to help members, make it easy for them, so they're not wiped out and they stay. It should not be forced down their throats or even suggested way too much
- [5/24/2013 6:50:07 PM] Gaserlake: Yeah. Hence it's optional.
- [5/24/2013 6:50:22 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: ...I already said optional when I first suggested the thing
- [5/24/2013 6:50:44 PM] Gaserlake: Oh.
- [5/24/2013 6:51:07 PM] Gaserlake: You were saying this right now as if I was planning to force them into the leveling system... I wasn't...
- [5/24/2013 6:51:21 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: *cough* "Adding onto my above system: So new members aren't chased away by having to wait too long to be a full member..? Make it optional! Don't force it. If they think they can handle being attacked, know the RP well enough after reading a few guides and want to jump in? Let them. The entire system should be optional and only used to keep members, not chase them away. The system needs to be FOR the members. Not for the staff and thus not forced. We want to go both ways to make people happy. "
- [5/24/2013 6:51:49 PM] Gaserlake: I agree.
- [5/24/2013 6:52:46 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: THis makes sure that the new members that can't get into the RP normally do get into it by taking it slow and that the new members that don't want to go through stupid systems and just want to RP because they think they know what to do can also get into it.
- [5/24/2013 6:53:09 PM] Gaserlake: Yeah.
- [5/24/2013 6:54:16 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: I put Full Member before Advanced Member as Advanced Member isn't required to RP. What made you decide to put Advanced before Full?
- [5/24/2013 6:54:36 PM] Gaserlake: Advanced, as in, advanced training.
- [5/24/2013 6:54:55 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: And why did you open the grounding system on lvl2?
- [5/24/2013 6:55:00 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: That's like... advanced advanced
- [5/24/2013 6:56:01 PM] Gaserlake: Oh... Well... I did have second thoughts on doing that, but... I mean... they should understand some more things about the RP on lvl 2... maybe they're allowed to learn the BASICS of the grounding system?
- [5/24/2013 6:57:23 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Uhh everybody unless stated otherwise is Grounded/Medigrounded, Embodiments being Surgrounded
- [5/24/2013 6:57:41 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: It shouldn't even come up unless they're into the advanced guides and request Subgrounded or an Embodiment/Surgrounded
- [5/24/2013 6:57:55 PM] Gaserlake: Then the rest on lvl 3? They should at least be on lvl 3. If they're allowed to learn the backstory of the RP on lvl 3, we may as well add the entire grounding system on lvl 3.
- [5/24/2013 6:58:23 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Eh, I already posted the levels I think we should have... albeit with better names.
- [5/24/2013 6:58:33 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: You posted yours.. let others post theirs I guess
- [5/24/2013 6:59:38 PM] Gaserlake: Sure. Let me revise my idea, though, seeing how one person, being you, reviewed my idea.
- [5/24/2013 6:59:56 PM] Gaserlake: I'm gonna try to get everyone's idea into the idea.
- [5/24/2013 7:00:00 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: This is what Nisorin said about it when I asked him a while back
- [5/24/2013 7:00:04 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: [5/14/2013 9:38:43 PM] Nisorin Lertis: I think the member levelling system should be simplified, but other then that, this might actually work.
- [5/14/2013 9:39:09 PM] Nisorin Lertis: IF you can accept other peoples' ideas and not just your own. AND if the others can do the same.
- [5/14/2013 9:43:50 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Kay..
- [5/14/2013 9:43:56 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Simplified how?
- [5/14/2013 9:45:19 PM] Nisorin Lertis: Less levels. Simpler boundaries between levels, and a clear point of how to progress between levels.
- [5/24/2013 7:01:25 PM] Gaserlake: Ah, yes. I was thinking about how to progress between levels. I would say that it depends for each member. Again, the leveling system is FOR the MEMBERS, not for the staff, so each member would progress through as fast as how confident they feel to progress.
- [5/24/2013 7:02:27 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: One problem with letting members decide when to progress
- [5/24/2013 7:02:40 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: They could choose to stay on the member right before f ull members just because they know they'd get attack immunity
- [5/24/2013 7:02:48 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Thus taking advantage
- [5/24/2013 7:03:24 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: That'd be Hawkeye >.>
- [5/24/2013 7:03:25 PM] Gaserlake: Lol.
- [5/24/2013 7:03:31 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: "If I stay on this level I can't be attacked!"
- [5/24/2013 7:03:34 PM] Gaserlake: I see what you're saying...
- [5/24/2013 7:04:36 PM] Gaserlake: Ummm... THat's why I think it should end on lvl 3. No more immunity on lvl 3. The immunity lasts from lvl 1 to lvl 2. That way, if they want to stay immune, then they would stay weak and such. This puts into play the rewarding system, where the more you progress, you have more things to do, but you have more freedoms.
- [5/24/2013 7:05:47 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Anyone else here to add their two cents?
- [5/24/2013 7:08:18 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: K2? Lyoko? You both were on the forum in the last 15 minutes so I know you're there.
- [5/24/2013 7:09:37 PM] Lyoko222: Well how would we impliment, and keep track of the system?
- [5/24/2013 7:10:17 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: If we make requests forms, it'd be easy, just disable the ability until they're at a certain level. Kinda like posting levels on SMF?
- [5/24/2013 7:10:49 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: Coding comes later. Figuring everything about it and what we need before coding is kinda important.
- [5/24/2013 8:47:26 PM] Hikaru/Ember Bright: As much as I hated planning documents for coding class, I hate to say it's kinda needed for this >.<
