Box

As David sat himself in his chair, the electronic beeping of the answering machine echoed through the security booth. It sounded off for a few seconds as David let it buzz. For a few seconds after, the room was silent as David sloshed the cheap wine in his cheeks,  the taste like a mouthwash liquid gone bad.

Isn't that important, he thought. I just got here, who'd want to steal from a ghetto Chuck E. Cheese's anyways? He took another swig out of his container, and then twisted the cap back on. He slung it back over his shoulder, as he let his eyes probe the sweaty, stifling room. Empty window and door frames let in some air, but the pizzeria couldn't afford a fan or any air conditioning it seemed.  David sat upright as an electronic screech emitted from the yellowed speakers of the answering machine. It droned on for five seconds, a constant stream of, if one could personify, a "Eh" sound. It stopped, as a clicking noise signified a new beginning. A masculine voice began talking over the answering machine. Southern, David could tell.

"Hello? Hello? I'd like to record a message for you.." A burst of static sounded off over the speakers, the kind of one you heard flipping the radio channels. A flipping noise, like that of pages being turned, as the man cleared his throat with a raspy cough simultaneously.

"Welcome to your exciting new jab at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, yaddah yaddah, we're very excited to have you in our stable of friends and family, and hope your career at Freddy's is a fruitful one. Now, cutting all that corporation bullshit, standard regulations and rules dictate that under no circumstances, is any Freddy Fazbear Secure-It Squad personnel allowed to be employed in the daytime schedule. Now, a lot of this is baloney, lemme tell you that. Because I've been working here for a real long time, ya see."

David reached out with his arm to mute the recording, before being interupted by a loud burst of static from the recording again.

"Hey, don't touch that button now, I know you're gonna touch it," the man said in a scolding, almost firm voice.

"Because, if I'm being honest with ya David...."

The new guard's skin turned white.

"I think you're fucked. Thought you should...Know that, ya know."

A click over the other end.

David did not have the time to react as the rabbit and bear limped into his room, and cornered him.

David did not do much thinking as his body separated at the waist

David did not know what to think when things suddenly got very, very dark in the helmet, and very, very warm.

David did not know what to think when part of his body was in one suit, and part of it in the other.
