  1. “The demons of Dianuc are the architects of all that man knows of Arcana. We pull magic from Dianuc itself – you've heard the stories.”

  3. The panels melt away and show the interior of a dark room. A circle of runes glow upon the ground, ringed with candles. Placed almost erratically within the runes are crystals. Three monstrous figures, cloaked and hooded frogmarch a screaming, raving demon into the room. They march him directly into the center of the circle, one figure on each side holding the demon in place. The third figure produces a cruel blade from his cloak – serrated and ending in a hook. He thrusts it into the stomach of the demon and pulls harshly up and out, tearing open his torso. Once more he thrusts the blade into the demon, this time into the side of his stomach and pulls it across it's stomach laterally. Blood and entrails spill out from the demon as it lets out a terrible wail. As the blood and viscera drop onto the runed ground it dissolves into sparkling red motes of energy. The cloaked figure steps away from the dying demon and pulls his hood down – a plain looking man is revealed but his features melt away, revealing a gaping black void that begins to suck in the motes of energy. Runes, faintly glowing red, begin to appear around the void and eventually the void closes and his features melt back into place. A single red rune sits on the center of his forehead and he reaches into his cloak again, this time producing a large, irregularly cut crystal. The rune upon his forehead begins to glow and the crystal fills with red light. Eventually the rune fades form his forehead and the crystal now glows brilliantly. He nods to the figures and then turns about to leave. They release the corpse of the demon, which burns to cinders as it falls to the ground.

  5. The panels melt back to Johannes and Julia.

  7. “The Demon Magi do not take kindly to absorbing Arcane energy for my own purposes. Casting spells written in books, or upon a Scroll, and what have you – that is approved by both those Magi and our own. But to weave it into the souls and let it course through ones veins, is, as you say, heresy.”
