Rahul, a young man of 40, runs a sweet shop established by his grandfather, whose death gives him a chance to enjoy his life and step out of the regular stereotypes. However, first he is given the task of immersing his grandfather's ashes in the holy waters of Rameshawaram. While he's on the journey, he unintentionally becomes the part of another journey : to Komban village, because of being a witness to what happened with the ticket collector. The ones who did with the ticket collector were none other than the cousins of Meenamma, the woman Rahul had helped board the train. What happens further in this journey of adventure, comedy, drama, action, and of course, true love, forms the rest of the story.
Rahul embarks on a journey to a small town in Tamil Nadu to fulfill the last wish of his grandfather: to have his ashes immersed in the Holy water of Rameshwaram. En route, he meets a woman hailing from a unique family down South. As they find love through this journey in the exuberant lands of South India, an unanticipated drive awaits them.
There&#39;s always something interesting in watching Shahrukh Khan do his usual &quot;common man&quot; antics in his films. In Chennai Express, he proves yet again why he is called as King Khan in Bollywood.<br/><br/>fully family entertaining movie... you can enjoy with everyone comfortably.. you will feel that there should not be an intermission... the movie should go on..you will not get bored for a single second.. and as always our KING KHAN&#39;s acting is just outstanding.. Deepika did a great job as well.. and Rohit&#39;s best direction work ever... people didn&#39;t move till the last scene of Lungi Dance. There is a clever humor, a few really genuine laughs and a man whose charm doesn&#39;t wear out – SRK.<br/><br/>in one word - BLOCKBUSTER..!!<br/><br/>So it&#39;s an entertaining film, a travelogue, a love story, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and a lot of elements of Rohit Shetty. You don&#39;t need more reason to go and watch the film.
This Movie is really Boring.. Even though first Half is better and entertaining, movie eventually becomes so irritating after interval. My rating is 1 out of 10. Deepika&#39;s acting is good, but so many unwanted drama scenes are inserted in the movie.. which makes it a headache. Story is not that much interesting, and could be completed within 1 Hour and 50 Minutes. But No...!! Rohit Shetty pulled it with boring dialogs and drama scenes. Songs starts when they are undoubtedly NOT REQUIRED. there is a part in movie when there are 2 songs in 15 minutes of interval. Ending fight is too long to tolerate. and finally, movie ends in a DDLJ style, which is the most predictable from the maker of the movie..
Although the film serves as a charming introduction to audiences new to the Bollywood genre, those well studied in the history of Shah Rukh Khan movies will be most rewarded, since the screenplay and songs make dozens of references to his earlier films.
