- Some backstory thing on Corius and the daemon setting.
- First, let us mention the dimensions and worlds when things are operated:
- Corius. The "planet" where humans originate from. It is a world which offers environments similar to Earth, with fields, mountains, lakes, seas, oceans, deserts etc. There are a few specific occurrences like the "floating grounds", pieces of earth which defy gravity. Some cities were built on these ones, but now they are only used for airship launching and surprise attacks. The plant and animal life in there are strangely similar to those of the ground below, but sometimes, strange extinct species will appear. This leads to the belief these places have been lifted manually somewhat or rather, they were teleported, with a constant connection to the ground they were once in, but since nobody has found a likely spot, this has never been confirmed. The main continent is called the Cordian Land. The northern part is called The Cold, and the southern Cord, which gives the name to the continent, mainly due to it involving most of the stuff happening here. A few miles to the space an horizontally elongated island called Bered serves as the second known continent. Myths speak of a third, much further past the seas, but it has never been confirmed.
- Cord is the house of many diverse climates and environments. In these, humans have lived for millennia, and recently, they have adapted a nigh dystopian arrangement, with twelve, city-states managed by the vastly powerful H.A.T, simply known as Cities. But smaller realms exist in it nonetheless. Towns and cities (not Cities) that are left to the protection of H.A.T still prosper somewhat, and can grow to good sizes. There are also important spots for travellers, wanderers or even the H.A.T
- Starting off from the south and mid-western parts of it, we have the Pandorian desert, the largest known one in the continent. It spans a considerable bit of the whole continent as well. This desert is home to, understandably only two of the large Cities, that fill the world, Malish and Neral. Thee are some of the most technologically supported Cities as well , with a constant need for import and protection from the hostile desert environment. In the end, these people have succeeded in making the harsh desert their home.
- Other key points in the desert involve an expansive set of ancient ruins, belonging to some empire of ages past. Nobody has bothered much with them recently nonetheless. Beyond this, there is also Vhadris, a certain "pit" in the desert, that often caters to the needs of worn out travelers. End of the story, it is a nice place if you find yourself lost, and most long routes through the desert make sure to integrate it. It is located, as said, at the end of a pit, in the desert, on the sides of it.
- Above the desert, on the north of it, lay rather dark, unpleasant grounds. Nobody visits them, as H.A.T has very strictly prohibited approach. For some reason. Huh.
- Between this part, and Central Cord lie the Grand Alps. Some say, ancient as the planet itself, and with their height, one would only need to imagine how tall they were in their prime days. These mountains are oft assumed to be a simple sight, or obstacle depending on your intentions, yet H.A.T is very interested in them. Who knows what could be in there... Who knows... Few towns are built in these mountains, often serving as bits of trade routes.
- The central Cord is once more divided. The upper two thirds are composed of a thick forested area, a jungle if you will. It is rough, difficult to transverse terrain, but it actually houses Cities quite well, which is why, in this area, no less than four of such Cities lie. It is also the most daemon populated area, and the one with the most security as a result. It lies covered in dense bits of dream force, that alter both the flora and fauna of it. There are many rivers that permeate this region, as well as lakes.
- The largest cities are Boghula and Irshek, although a recent city has been emerging, built to shelter refugees of daemon attacks, courtesy of the Settlement Defense Division. It does however, not discriminate between who can stay in. Which is a good thing if you're a refugee, of daemon attacks.
- The southern third, is a massive swampland where many small cities and fishing village have formed. Nothing much happens here, but there are, very famous ruins of a gigantic tower complex, laying somewhere within this territory, and supposedly where the strongest remnants of the once mana fueled magic are. but it is just speculation. Who knows...hmm...
- The eastern plains are the next largest area. these expand for the entirety of the east and are some of the most fertile, flatter lands. it is where some of the largest cities, such as Arkwell, or Voltarre lie. it is where H.A.T completes most of its operations and well...generally the "center of the world, if you like to see it that way. there are significant towns, and trade routes here, perhaps too many to count as easily. furthermore, it is one of the lands with the largest capability for harbors, that lead to the Eastern Isles. These are...not the most opportune however, as the isles are rendered very "empty" recently.
- The Isles themselves are basically, a large archipelago, the Lone Isles as they were once called, to the far east of the world. after a recent event that caused considerable destruction, they are as of now, barely populated, and in essence a far off destination one would aim wt for few reasons. But people do nonetheless! Hh...strange folks, aren't they?
- The other off shore bits, are Bered, a horizontally elongated island, that is fill of iungles, rivers and unexplored mountains. It is a nice vacation spits, with two Cities making thiis, tourism, a large part of their economy. Nevertheless... Bered is just a small, nice place with little going on in it.
- But the other significant spot, well... That'd have to be The Cold. North of the Cord, both connected through land, the Cold is a massive, frozen wasteland, with little going on. There are two cities in here as well, but the thing is they do not spread their influence too far north. Daemons fill this area, and many things happen, in general... But these do so out of the eye of curious strangers...far, far to the north. Whatever the cold has eaten up and stored on its stomach...is not something it wants to let back out.
