Catallena: 10 I remember reading an article or something that described this song as a showcase of all the potential of what Kpop can be when it fully embraces what makes it so unique and I fully agree. There are a lot of good and interesting sounding songs on this list but if someone asked me to show them something that showed that Kpop had its own identity, it would be this. Fun, creative, polished, weird, it’s absolutely everything.

Eung Eung: 6.9 Maybe blasphemy but I feel like this song relies too much on that synth riff and the overall mood, when you look at it as an actual song it’s just like… fine.

Abracadabra: 10 Undeniably the best “electro sexy” song in the rate, if Lady Gaga had released this it would have been everywhere

Sixth Sense: 9.1 the dead people that the kid in *Sixth Sense* sees are all the people that Brown Eyed Girls killed with this comeback. “No need to worry, love is just a game” is one of the rawest lines ever recorded for a Kpop song.

Hot Summer: 6.5 I love saying “hot summer” but this song is pretty unmemorable outside of the chorus

Electric Shock: 7 I’m never sure to feel about this song because it’s simultaneously super cool and painfully flat at the same time

Rum Pum Pum Pum: 8.8 Finally f(x) figure out what to do with themselves… I love the weird “twisted spaghetti western” vibe of this song

Red Light: 9 What an interesting sounding song, it’s so… dangerous? But I’m not sure what the danger is.

4 Walls: 10 I’m tempted to low-ball this song because it’s probably going to win and there’s songs I like more than it but if I’m being realistic, this fully deserves the top spot

All Night: 8.5 This is like a copy of “Sugar” by Maroon 5 which is itself a copy of “Birthday” by Katy Perry which is itself a copy of Mariah Carey’s debut album so we’re like four steps removed from greatness at this point but this is pretty alright.

Artist: KARA: Such an underrated group, I think they had a more distinctly “European” sound that helped them stand out and their music has aged pretty decently all things considered. They always delivered fantastic dance pop!
