  1. Zephyrus is a Rabbit-like BOSS Monster from before the war, having no direct or distant relations to the Dreemurr Royal Family. He was born sometime before the war and lived peacefully under the rule of King ASGORE, with his father as a member of the Royal Guard. As a young child, he desired to become a member in the future and to this end, his father would train him very strictly and very harshly. By the time Zephyrus turned 16, he was considered a high-level combatant able to stand against even the leader of the Royal Guard at the time as well as a master of his family's combat style, the 'Jumping Jack' Style. Having devoted himself to training, he had few people he could talk to and call friends, however, he often spent time with other children of the Royal Guard, eventually forming a battalion with 3 of them that was jokingly called the 'Junior' Guard. Sometime after he turned 18, the War with humanity began. As The Junior Guard was comprised of moderate to high-level combatants, they would be deployed quite often, with Zephyrus, reluctantly, being instated as the Captain. Eventually, due to Zephyrus' often destructive use of his fire magic, The Junior Guard would become officially known as the Order of the Firestorm and would gain a few more members, upping their count from 4 to 8. Despite achievements from the Order of the Firestorm as well as other monster battalions, Humanity had not lost a single soldier and was dominating the war. The Order, drunk off of their successes, quickly received a harsh reality check.

  5. During a scouting mission alongside a few members of the Royal Guard, including Zeph's father, the Order was ambushed by a band of human mages. Zephyrus and his father fought hard to buy his compatriots enough time to escape. Realizing that, despite their magic and skills, they were still far outclassed, Zephyrus' father lured the humans away before sacrificing himself, taking his SOUL along with him. Zephyrus, having found what little remained, promised himself to hate humanity for all that they had done until their "sins" were repaid. He returned home, filled with hatred towards the humans who slew his father...and himself for failing to be strong enough. Having inherited his father's belongings, he began to look through them for things he could use. Eventually, he found a capsule alongside a note: "I fear this war cannot be stopped, old friend. Do take what little remains of me before humanity makes a mistake. Hopefully, this will help you in the future. -######". Opening the capsule and finding fragments of a Human SOUL, Zephyrus moved the fragments (careful to not let them touch his body) into a small, glass vessel and kept it on his person. Refusing to leave the humans who murdered his father alone, he gathered the Order and declared a mission: Get revenge for Zeph's father. Fearing for their own lives, 4 of the members left, leaving Zephyrus and his 3 childhood friends to their warpath. Leaving bright and early, the Order scouted out the nearest human encampment from where they were ambushed, finding the very same group of mages. They stalked the mages, day in and day out until they found their opportunity. During their wait, Zeph's friends began to wonder...was what they were doing right? Was it correct to let their friend go through with a suicide mission to squander the life his father gave him? Before they could bring up their opposition, the opportunity arose. The mages wandered off from the camp, followed discretely by the band of four. A ways away from the human encampment, the mages found themselves ambushed by the Order. While the 4 Monsters briefly had the upper hand before the mages regained their composure, quickly turning the tide of battle. Finding himself locked in one-on-one combat with one of the humans, Zephyrus was left helpless as he saw his friends struck by a killing blow, seemingly ending their lives. Zeph pushed himself onwards to his friends' location, watching them fade from life, as the human mages regrouped and prepared to end Zephyrus himself. Compelled by their loyalty to Zephyrus and DETERMINED to save him, even if they couldn't save themselves, the 3 forced themselves together into an amalgamate. They protected Zephyrus from the spell that would've ended his life and fought against the humans, trying to buy time just as his father did. Told to run, Zephyrus made his escape...but stopped to watch his friends fighting. Zeph, feeling regret once more at his own weakness, took ahold of the glass vessel of the SOUL fragments and shattered it in his hands, absorbing the fragments into himself. With renewed vigor, he re-entered the battle, though not for long. Creating a large flame barrier between the humans and himself and his amalgamed friends, he led his friends away to Mt.Ebott. Weakened by the fighting and knowing their demise was soon, his friends allowed Zephyrus to take them in, dissolving the SOULs within to mere energy and fusing with Zephyrus to make him much stronger, turning his SOUL into something both Human and Monster yet, distinctly neither. His body, under stress from the constant battling and the absorption of so much DETERMINATION began to breakdown, before forcing him into a magically-induced stasis to regulate his body. During his stasis, the soul fragments in his being turned black, tainted by the hatred in his heart. Sometime following the barrier-breaking, he awoke from his stasis, his body brought back under his control. He then took over an abandoned house in New Home and made it his own.

  8. [OLD Section] (canon-breaking section):
  9. During a scouting mission, the Order was ambushed by a band of human mages. Zephyrus, still being in fighting condition, would do his utmost to protect his allies and allow them to retreat though, as the onslaught continued, came to the realization that even if they successfully retreated, the rest of the Order would succumb to their wounds. Knowing this fact, his allies became Determined enough to defy their eventual deaths though their bodies, having already started breaking down, merged them into a single amalgamate. This amalgamate, already being on the verge of death, managed to kill a single human before it began to destabilize even further. It could only claim a few fragments of the human's SOUL as the humans had made an attempt to destroy the SOUL to prevent the monsters from taking it. Using the last of its strength, the amalgamate fused itself with Zephyrus, using the SOUL fragments as a catalyst to hold the high amounts of Determination. Instead of Zephyrus becoming apart of the Amalgamate, the other SOULs within were destroyed while the body became one with him and allowing him to retain his qualities and even enhanced his magic further. His SOUL now became one that could be considered both Human and Monster, while also distinctly neither. Using this newfound power, he avenged his fallen comrades and killed the human attackers. Heading home, he soon found himself in a situation: His body and SOUL began to reject one another and thus, his body began to breakdown. He took rest near Mt. Ebott before he entered a magically-induced stasis, in hopes that eventually his body and SOUL would offset the imbalances within. During his stasis, the Human SOUL fragments he absorbed changed their trait, going from Perseverance to Hate as a result of the hate for humans he had foremost in his mind, resulting in the markings on his face. Sometime after the barrier broke, he was at least able to awaken from his stasis, his body and SOUL now at peace. As of recently, he's taken over an abandoned house in New Home and made it his home.
