  1. Incensed mists roll in as Saran enters from the up, casting a haunting fog
  2. nearby.
  3.
  4. You whisper in Saran's ear and recount the memories of lives past, each as
  5. fleeting and vital as a breath. As you impart the wisdom of the turning cycles,
  6. spectral silver vines twine your twin forms. New life springs forth in the form
  7. of ebon and ivory flowers that birth a hale fragrance in the air as they fade
  8. away.
  9.
  10. Huskii of the Misty Vale says to Saran, "Um.... I did a thing I'm not entirely
  11. comfortable with... Can I trust your wisdom again?"
  12.
  13. Saran tilts his head curiously at Huskii.
  14.
  15. A wry smile spreads across your face.
  16.
  17. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "Aye, of
  18. course."
  19.
  20. Your soft voice reaches out to The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays
  21. Civalior Lyreth, tickling their ear, "Dear Huskii turns to thinking in terms of
  22. gain and loss when he worries."
  23.
  24. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "I went to the glade of the healing Lagoon,
  25. seeking wisdom. And while I knew She could make no promises, but I did hear that
  26. others could help if problems happened in Her healing."
  27.
  28. Huskii ponders the situation.
  29.
  30. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "So, I'm hoping we could make a new friend in the
  31. Seas, and that the Fae's empowerment could help us."
  32.
  33. Your soft voice reaches out to The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays
  34. Civalior Lyreth, tickling their ear, "That is, the Healing Mounds where the Lady
  35. of the Lagoons is cocooned. Huskii was worried about consequences to the Basin."
  36.
  37. Huskii of the Misty Vale says to Saran, "Do you think I made a mistake?"
  38.
  39. Xiran tilts her head.
  40.
  41. Saran ponders the situation.
  42.
  43. You ask, "Fae's empowerment?"
  44.
  45. Huskii nods their head emphatically.
  46.
  47. Blinking, you say, "The wisps?"
  48.
  49. Huskii nods their head at you.
  50.
  51. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "The wisps are fae, right?"
  52.
  53. You say, "Yes. They aid primarily with Her Healing Mound."
  54.
  55. Huskii tilts their head and listens intently to Saran.
  56.
  57. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "The Lady of the
  58. Lagoons was an Awakener, her experiences are what has shaped her. If one can
  59. ease her mind while she rests at the healing mound, perhaps, aye, there is hope
  60. that she might be restored in body, mind, and spirit."
  61.
  62. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "And, perhaps,
  63. if such healing reminds her of the true beauty and harmony of nature. She may be
  64. less willing to harm it in future, though I do worry that a Celestian elder
  65. leads the efforts."
  66.
  67. Huskii nods their head emphatically.
  68.
  69. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "Even if it doesn't... I'm hoping a show of faith
  70. will bring help to heal some of Her damage."
  71.
  72. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "A lot of those present at the fight weren't
  73. friends, but it sounds like the Empyreal is willing to take some of the
  74. responsibility."
  75.
  76. You wince in pain.
  77.
  78. You say, "I don't think we mortals should attempt to extract promises from an
  79. Elder."
  80.
  81. Huskii nods their head emphatically.
  82.
  83. Saran tilts his head curiously.
  84.
  85. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "I'm sure Her alone can't fix all the problems,
  86. but it's good to have friends to help."
  87.
  88. Rubbing her cheek with an open palm, you say, "Mm. To consider an Elder a
  89. friend..."
  90.
  91. Xiran she drops her hand without saying further.
  92.
  93. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "My caution
  94. would be more from implication, we work too closely and potentially assist those
  95. of Celest, we may provide a weapon for them against the Taint."
  96.
  97. Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart tilts her head up towards the skies.
  98.
  99. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "Oh... Is that wrong? Some of them have helped us
  100. in the past!"
  101.
  102. Saran ponders the situation.
  103.
  104. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "Regarding the
  105. Elders or the Light?"
  106.
  107. Huskii ponders the situation.
  108.
  109. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "I meant the Elders, but both might apply?"
  110.
  111. Lightning flickers across the treetops in scattered flashes, chased by rolling
  112. thunder that shakes every branch and bough.
  113.
  114. Xiran chews her lip. She opens her mouth, then closes it again, instead dipping
  115. her head to Saran, the Grey Waykeeper.
  116.
  117. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "At this time,
  118. despite the seeming calmness of such. We are at war with the Light, they work
  119. with the Wyrd, seek to contest us when we claim villages and aetherbubbles."
  120.
  121. Huskii of the Misty Vale says to Saran, "I hope I didn't make a mistake. I know
  122. it's hard. I don't want to hurt the Seren, but it's a hard problem."
  123.
  124. Adasser, Wolverine's Mask scratches the back of his head and comments, "I would
  125. say that the Divine are rather beyond friendship with mortals like us." He
  126. smiles sheepishly. "They might be friends with One Another. But, I would not
  127. dare presume to say I am a friend of an Elder, myself."
  128.
  129. A shaft of moonlight shines down from the heavens and bathes the Ellindel
  130. Arboretum in soft light.
  131.
  132. Huskii ponders the situation.
  133.
  134. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "We must be
  135. cautious and navigate the uncertainty of these times."
  136.
  137. You curtsey gracefully before Adasser, Wolverine's Mask.
  138.
  139. Huskii nods their head emphatically.
  140.
  141. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "Maybe my words were bad."
  142.
  143. Huskii ponders the situation.
  144.
  145. Huskii of the Misty Vale says to Saran, "I hope we can find allies in the light
  146. again. And we can push this new taint and abomination back."
  147.
  148. Saran ponders the situation.
  149.
  150. Huskii of the Misty Vale says to Saran, "I will admit to healing the Lagoon. If
  151. it is wrong, let me know, but if it is, let me make amends."
  152.
  153. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says, "Aye perhaps, in
  154. the end the taint and the light are two sides of the same coin. What is
  155. important is that we ensure that they remain at war with each other for such
  156. consumes their focus that might otherwise be turned upon Nature."
  157.
  158. Xiran nods at Saran's words.
  159.
  160. With a smile, Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart says, "The Taint and the Light
  161. allied together once, to bind and to destroy fae. Just as many of the forests
  162. died to the Light as did to the Taint. Neither are for the healing of the
  163. lands."
  164.
  165. Xiran flinches.
  166.
  167. Saran nods his head at Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart, showing his acceptance.
  168. Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart flashes Saran a joyous smile.
  169.
  170. You think to yourself: Huddled in the Queen Maeve's former court, pleading with
  171. the Dame to spare her own people in Faethorn.
  172.
  173. Huskii nods their head at Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart.
  174. Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart flashes Huskii a joyous smile.
  175.
  176. Huskii of the Misty Vale says to Miakoda, Maiden of the Moonhart, "The fae of
  177. the Wisp seem to be willing to offer their help to the healing."
  178.
  179. Huskii of the Misty Vale says, "I wish this was an easier problem."
  180.
  181. Huskii slumps down dejectedly.
  182.
  183. Your soft voice reaches out to Huskii of the Misty Vale, tickling their ear, "As
  184. Adasser put it, relationship between mortal and Elder is not something I would
  185. describe mundanely as friendship, even with Those who are friendly. They have
  186. seen and experienced far more than we will ever know, and Their decisions are
  187. drawn from that. The Lady Empyreal is among the earliest to emerge from Their
  188. creche, so."
  189.
  190. You say, "A problem that is no one person's burden, Huskii. Stand tall. You are
  191. with the Seren."
  192.
  193. The Grey Waykeeper, Saran Strongleaf, Ays Civalior Lyreth says to Huskii, "As
  194. the Blank Stone teaches us, the future is unwritten and unknowable. Aiding the
  195. Elders has helped the forest in the past, so it may do so again in the future,
  196. we can only do our best, and it certainly carries weight that you consider your
  197. path so heavily."
  198.
  199. Saran smiles softly.
