  4. • Because this game is from an isometric perspective, it can be annoying to direct Up, Down, Left and Right when it may not be clear. As such, I will use UL, UR, DL and DR to refer to exiting a room via screen transition by the Up-Left, Up-Right, Down-Left or Down-Right directions.

  8. • Set time upon booting up game with dry battery to 2004/08/01 anytime at night (22:00 works fine) to get Lunar Bugs to spawn
  9. • Use password to obtain Dark Boy title (grants +2 STRG and +2 AGIL as well as one Power Nut (banana) and one Bearnut)

  63. • Ensure at least 1 bar of SUN, scan room counterclockwise looking for sparkle in window lights to find randomly placed chest with Red Crystal, UL (up stairs)
  64. • Trap! Kill Ghouls as before, clockwise, UL
  65. • Drop down to obtain Short Spear, DR (not Triangle Door)

  67. • Hammer torch alight and insert Red Crystal, hammer blocks, UL
  68. • Hammer torch alight, cross trap door (needs good timing after trap door resets), read hint panel, drop down trap door

  72. • Flame spear the torch, raise SUN to 8 bars during cutscene, DL

  98. • Equip Spear, Menu to increase STRG to 24, equip Leather Armor (otherwise Duneyrr’s powder attack is devastating), UR to boss
  99. • Attack Duneyrr with 3 unenchanted spear attacks, then attack torches as close to the center as possible to alight all 4 at once, keep until all 4 are lit; attack with 3 spears when she’s down, avoid/ignore larvae; she will divebomb after lighting the torch 4 times (or half health I think), wait for her attack to finish before lighting again because the fire will go out after the divebomb; final set of attacks may need Enchant Flame to deal enough damage to her without another cycle, use Flame as needed

  102. • Menu to unequip Leather Armor, use Power Nut, pick up coffin, DL

  106. • Avoid enemies (killing them here could be an option for getting the Gradius), obtain Circle Key always, obtain the three weapons (ONLY if you never got the Gradius drop) and obtain the left orange chest for a Power Nut, DR
  107. • Pick up coffin, DR
  108. • Menu to use Power Nut when depleted, use Circle Key on bottom door, DL (out of Cathedral)

  113. • DR (Power Nut will run out, but Piledriver is short distance away)
  114. • Cutscenes, drag coffin to center of Piledriver, Sol Sword generators EXCEPT bottom right one (skips cutscene), commence Purification
  115. • Attack final generator, max out SUN and charge to max ENE if not already there; process is quick on max SUN, just avoid her linear powder attack and keep max ENE for next section
