Headphones not transmitting sound

Alright, I just got my laptop back from having the screen repaired. so, I've got my High Definition Audio Device in my Device Manager, which is normal. Speakers work fine, but when I plug in my headphones, all sounds stop, be it speakers or headphones. This occurs with any headphone/earphone, and even after I reinstall the driver. If I attempt to update drivers, it instead becomes 'IDT High Definition Audio CODEC'. Now, in my playback devices, I clearly see a section for 'Speakers' and one for my headphones, but I have to manually switch from one to the other by disabling Speakers whenever I wanna use my headphones.
