  2. Still good to do the interview tonight?
  3. Evandorf — Yesterday at 7:58 PM
  4. Yep
  5. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 7:59 PM
  6. Good to start now then?
  7. Evandorf — Yesterday at 7:59 PM
  8. Sure
  9. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 7:59 PM
  10. Alright, i'm gonna break tradition and do this first so i dont' forget All good with these being posted publicly on the app?
  11. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:00 PM
  12. That's not a problem
  13. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:01 PM
  14. Alright, do you need the list of all the powers you'd have a mod? There's a few new things you'd have access to since you were a mod last time, but, nothing relevant to any questions being asked
  15. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:02 PM
  16. Sure, give me the rundown. It's been a while.
  17. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:03 PM
  18. As a moderator, here are the following perms you have:
  19.
  20. - Access to msay. It allows you to speak with other staff members.
  21. - Access to dsay. Self-explanatory, you see the deadchat and can even speak in it.
  22. - Access to in game logs about a lot of things. This include LOOC, dchat, admin actions(like kick, ban, note, warn) and some things to prevent grief. Imagine Urist McUrist open a phoron tank you'll have a message stating it. Same for a fuel tank or a valve of any kind.
  23. - Access the variables of the objects on the server. While you cannot edit them, you can view attack logs on a player, who touched what the last, etc.
  24. - The ability to adminghost, basically will consider you as if you ghosted from the lobby or died. You can aghost again to re-enter your body.
  25. - The ability to Wind people. It freeze them and keep them from interacting with the game.
  26. - The possibility to AdminPM someone, and check all the tickets that have been made on the server.
  27. - The ability to kick, note, warn, ban. More in-depth about this:
  28. Kick = Just boot someone off the server. You can set a custom message. It's not really used often, but still useful to get someone's attention.
  29. Note = It's basically our notepad about players. It's useful for the other staff that will interact with the player, to know their behaviour and if something already happened before.
  30. Warning = Depending the severity of something, it can be directly a warning. This one is visible to the player, and they need to acknowledge it to play on the server again.
  31. Ban = Same thing as kick expect on a larger scale, or even permanently. A ban is often an escalation of warnings.
  32. Every action taken by a staff member is visible on the player's ckey. Only kicks are not shown.
  33. The big newish thing you'd have access to is the ability to give people respawns, but, not going to be brought up in any questions
  34. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:05 PM
  35. OK, sounds good
  36. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:05 PM
  37. If you have any questions on a power now or during a question feel free to ask it, When you're ready for the first question lemme know
  38. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:05 PM
  39. None at the moment but if something comes up I'll ask
  40. Ready for the first question.
  41. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:07 PM
  42. Alright, first question: While alone on the server someone joins by the name "Big Chungus", what would you do?
  43. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:10 PM
  44. I would check to see if they have any notes or warnings about previous behavior (improper naming) and if not I would PM them to make sure they were aware of the rules for character creation.
  45.
  46. I don't know if I have the ability to change the name myself but if not I would contact an admin to do the actual name change to whatever the player's preference was so long as it remains within the bounds of the rules.
  47. I would then make a note about the interaction if it was their first offense, perhaps a warning as Big Chungus is a bit of a meme but it would depend on priors.
  48. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:13 PM
  49. They have a previous note for joining with another improper name but dcing before they could be contacted, whem pming them they don't respond, what'd you do?
  50. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:15 PM
  51. I would issue a permaban to force communication with staff. Especially considering the same behavior previously recorded.
  52. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:16 PM
  53. Should say, they only didn't respond to the initial bwoink, would you still issue the perma?
  54. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:17 PM
  55. Oh, I misread I thought they DC'ed on me as well
  56. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:17 PM
  57. They dcd before they could be contacted in the previous note, but, not while you're pming them, they'd just keep moving around without responding
  58. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:17 PM
  59. There is a way to force a message to the user, right? Is it a warning that brings up a window that they have to acknowledge?
  60. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:19 PM
  61. hold on
  62. Warnings only prevent the user from joining the next round until they acknowledge it, not from playing the one they're in
  63. Image
  64. The picture is about what the message would look like on their end
  65. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:21 PM
  66. My assumption, especially with the name given is that they're ignoring me but if all they have is a note, not a warning, ban, ect I suppose I would try various ways to get them to acknowledge my messages. I might wind them to make sure they're aware something is up but if they just remain radio silent after multiple attempts I'd have to permaban them mainly just to force them into contact with staff.
  67. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:23 PM
  68. In this case they respond to the winding and agree to change it, but dc a minute or so after it's handled
  69. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:25 PM
  70. I'd make a warning for not ghosting or using cryo so that they see the relevant info if they log back in and make sure I refer them to the rules regarding roleplay/leaving the round.
  71. Also have a character nearby move them into cryo if possible.
  72. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:26 PM
  73. Alright, that should be all for the first question unless you have anything to add
  74. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:26 PM
  75. No, I think that's it.
  76. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:26 PM
  77. Alright, ready for the next?
  78. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:27 PM
  79. Yep
  80. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:27 PM
  81. While observing a round, you get an ahelp from a borg with a default name claiming that they just got ganked and turned into a cyborg by the machinist, how would you respond?
  82. (I'm pretty sure when someone gets turned into an mmi/borgo it gives them a default borg name, it's not them lying or something if i'm getting it wrong)
  83. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:31 PM
  84. I would first check to see if the machinist was an antag. I would ask the borg if any RP happened before hand and get details of the encounter. I would then ghost over to the machinist workshop to see what happened and then PM the machinist as to why the borgification occurred. Context to this would determine future actions.
  85. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:33 PM
  86. The machinist is indeed a traitor, in the machinists lab there is no signs of a fight but the borgo's original human body is still on the operating table. The borgo's player (originally a janitor) says they were called over to clean something in the lab, was let in, parapenned wordlessly, and borged, with the machinist afterward emaging them and telling them to help them break into the bridge.
  87. The machinist essentially says the same thing, but said they were speaking to them while they were stunned from the parapen, also claiming their gimmick was to borg crew
  88. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:40 PM
  89. I'd check the previous notes, warnings, ect for the machinist to see if they have had issues with poor RP in the past. If possible I would also just check the chat logs to see exactly what was said and if it was as bad as it seems. I'd refer them to the rules regarding ganking and playing an antagonist and explain that the brief exchange they had is not sufficient RP. Depending on priors I would have to note/warn/ban as appropriate. I'm not sure if an admin could suitably rectify the problem but I would see what could be done. If we were unable to fix the janitor I would simply tell them the situation is handled and reset their respawn if needed so they could rejoin as a different character.
  90. Ah, actually
  91. I see that you said they were speaking while paralyzed
  92. That would definitely not count as proper RP
  93. And I would make sure the traitor understands they would not be heard.
  94. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:45 PM
  95. The machinist was speaking to the paralyzed person, I mean
  96. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:45 PM
  97. Right, so regardless of the content of the RP it wasn't seen or heard.
  98. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:45 PM
  99. Parapens nowadays have the person still be awake/able to hear things, but stuns them on the ground for a bit
  100. So the victim would've been able to hear what they were saying
  101. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:50 PM
  102. I didn't know that. Which is interesting because it would mean that the change to the parapen was made specifically for this or similar purpose. I suppose the question would be whether or not sufficient RP was given after the pen but before the borgification. I would check the chat logs and see what was said.
  103. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:52 PM
  104. The machinist's only relevant note is one for, as an officer, randomly opening fire during a hostage negotiation. You can see the chat logs since you were already observing when this went down, the machinist spoke about three lines essentially just saying they needed help into breaking into the bridge, and figured making a borgo to do it would be their best option.
  105. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:52 PM
  106. I would also likely reach out to another member of staff for clarification on the ganking rule itself. Does ganking refer to removing the player from the round alone? Would removing the character from their normal round activities count?
  107. All context around the ganking rule indicates killing.
  108. But I can see it being applied to removing you from the round in other ways.
  109. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 8:53 PM
  110. They'd say it doesn't have to be 100% removing them from the round, but could be randomly doing something that severely impacts it, like randomly turning someone into a vamp as another vamp with no prior buildup
  111. Evandorf — Yesterday at 8:58 PM
  112. The previous note from the hostage negotiation is relevant as it shows a lack of RP in that situation as well. Given the additional context of the logs I would stay with my initial assessment that the RP provided was insufficient, refer the machinist to the rules pertaining to ganking and playing an antagonist, and likely give them a warning as this is the second time they've seriously hampered other player's rounds due to their lack of RP.
  113. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:00 PM
  114. They accept it, but, during this bwoink security officers coming running down to the machinists lab, trying to open the door which none of them have access to, with it eventually opening from seemingly nothing, would you let it play out or do something?
  115. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:02 PM
  116. Do I have the ability to see why the door opened? Did the borg open it for the officers? Was there any information on whether an admin could revert what was done for the janitor?
  117. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:02 PM
  118. You can see in VV the most recent "fingerprint" was the borgos, at the time no admins are on/available on discord, it's just you and another mod
  119. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:07 PM
  120. I would first send maybe an LOOC to everyone nearby that we were working to resolve an ahelp. I'd check to see if the borg was also making attempts to contact security while this was going down. If they were sending PDA messages, ect. Given that the damage couldn't be reverted I would say the borg has two options: roll with it and follow the rules accordingly, or go into storage.
  121.
  122. If they plan to continue playing they would be expected to follow their emagged laws and not grudge the machinist and work against them.
  123. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:08 PM
  124. No pda logs or attempts to contact anyone, but medical did report the body through sensors. In this case the borgo als chooses to go into storage
  125. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:13 PM
  126. If the borg has no prior issues with powergaming/metagaming I would make a note in their records regarding the situation and make sure to refer them to the rules regarding borgs and their laws and powergaming/metagaming. Basically I would want them to know that the issue was reported, we were dealing with it, and beyond that they were breaking their laws to open the door for security. As for the officers, I don't have the means to delete or remove the body or the evidence of what happened from the round so rather than have to try and have many different people void the entire thing I would let them continue with whatever charges or arrests they make after I finish with the ahelp.
  127. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:14 PM
  128. Borg has no previous relevent notes, so that should be all then unlkess you got something to add?
  129. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:14 PM
  130. No, I think that's it.
  131. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:15 PM
  132. Alright, ready for the third?
  133. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:15 PM
  134. Sure
  135. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:15 PM
  136. Immediately upon joining the server, you get an ahelp from a priest saying that a group of people ganked them, saying they were lings, what would you do?
  137. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:16 PM
  138. I'm assuming the priest is dead.
  139. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:16 PM
  140. *Adding that you're alone on the server at the time
  141. Yes
  142. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:16 PM
  143. Do I have access to logs from before I joined?
  144. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:16 PM
  145. No, unless you ask a player to send it
  146. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:18 PM
  147. I would definitely PM the people the priest name and get their side of it. I think I can see the body object to see what killed them so I would look at that as well. If the priest or the lings have access to gyazo or something like that I would try to get logs as well.
  148. I would also check again previous issues with the lings, check their antag status, ect.
  149. The fact that there is a group of lings sounds off to me as I'm not familiar with them being able to turn others into lings. That may be a change I'm not familiar with though.
  150. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:19 PM
  151. (For the sake of ease i'm going to be calling the lings Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie)
  152. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:19 PM
  153. It's possible there are three separate lings at round start but I think you'd need a decent round pop for that.
  154. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:20 PM
  155. The body shows that only one ling attacked/stung them, Bravo, who killed them via the ling suck thing, Bravo has no relevent notes, Charlie has a note for ganking someone, and Alpha has a note for attacking an ssd person as a ling
  156. And yeah there are three lings, they're all around the body still
  157. (Lings can turn people into "morphs" now, but this won't be relevant to the ticket, they can't turn others into straight lings)
  158. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:21 PM
  159. Do the lings or the priest give any relevant logs or proof of RP beforehand?
  160. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:23 PM
  161. The logs given by both sides are the same, the group walks in to talk to the priest, alone, Bravo and Alpha talk to them while Charlie doesn't, eventually they convince the priest to have a fully private talk and lower the blinds, after this Alpha says they'll be back, a few seconds later Bravo stings the priest with a stun/parasting, neck grabbing them and saying "Thank you" before killing them with the ling kill
  162. The convos previous was essentially about the group finding a new god and wanting to discuss it with the priest
  163. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:31 PM
  164. As Bravo was the one who attacked and killed the priest while both Alpha and Charile were away, I would say that he bears responsibility. Now, it's possible that the other two spoke with Bravo and had some influence on how things went down, and I would ask Bravo if that were the case, but I would let him know that to me it seems semi-low RP as nothing discussed seems to have driven a story incorporating the lings. Ling is a difficult antag to balance the stealth necessary early on with the RP the server requires and given that Bravo has no prior notes I would likely leave this as a note/verbal.
  165. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:32 PM
  166. Alright, would you speak to Alpha/Charlie at all, or just leave it with Bravo?
  167. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:35 PM
  168. If I've got nothing saying they influenced or encouraged the low-RP then I'm just making assumptions on what their intent was. I would make sure they are aware of the rules regarding RP required as antag but I wouldn't go further than a verbal warning without something to go on, especially as the body clearly shows one attacker.
  169. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:36 PM
  170. Alpha & Charlie both say they were essentially just teaming up with Bravo for the kill for a gimmick where they eneded a morph, with Bravo and Alpha doing the planning, but no one ever said to kill the priest when they did/while alpha left
  171. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:41 PM
  172. I'd check the story with logs Bravo provided. It seems from what I can gather that a plan was in place to kill the priest and create a morph but perhaps Bravo acted too early before RP could be established. Unless I see anything to contradict that then I would continue with notes for Alpha and Charlie, as they were not responsible, and notes and a verbal warning for Bravo as he has no priors. I would make sure they were all aware of the necessity and rules for RP as antag.
  173. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:43 PM
  174. Logs provided seem to add up. That should be all then, but what would you include in the alpha/charlie notes compared to the note for Bravo?
  175. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:46 PM
  176. I would make clear that Bravo engaged in killing with insufficient RP in his notes, to indicate the rules were broken and he was spoken with. As for Alpha and Charlie I would indicate that they were tangentially involved in a possible ganking as a group of lings but no official warning or punishment was given, mainly to show a pattern if this sort of thing continues to occur.
  177. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:49 PM
  178. Alright, ready for the last situational question?
  179. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:49 PM
  180. Sure
  181. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:49 PM
  182. During a round of cult, the cultists in aooc say early on that they plan on doing a peace gimmick, but a little early into the round one of the cultists ahelp saying that another cultist started to hostilely convert people and kill them if they refused, how would you respond?
  183. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:54 PM
  184. I would start off getting logs and stories from both sides and any potential victims. There's no hard rule saying that antags have to agree or work together but being a dick should be avoided. I would see if the cultist doing hostile conversions and killings was providing any RP prior to this, or if the crew was aware at all of the peace-cult at that point.
  185. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 9:56 PM
  186. Most of the cultists are together preaching in the bar and overall not doing anything hostile, meanwhile the logs show at this point the other cultist has converted at least one person and killed another. Bwoinking both victims they say that they felt there was sufficient rp to the conversion, and the one killed said they resisted rather vocally while the cultist kept trying to tell them to convert, before eventually being killed and shared/turned into an artificer
  187. The crew at this point is pretty aware of the peacecult going on in the bar through common radio stuff
  188. Evandorf — Yesterday at 9:59 PM
  189. Does the hostile cultist have any prior notes/warnings/bans?
  190. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:01 PM
  191. None, they're a newish player (30 days) with only one for going SSD as a traitor
  192. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:05 PM
  193. I'd let them know that while there is no rule requiring antags to work together they should consider how they are affecting the other cultists and the fact that it will likely ruin the gimmick they are going for. I'd encourage them to work with their fellow antags in the future and if for whatever reason they disagreed with a gimmick it might be best to bow out for that round and maybe have an admin find another player to take your place. Since they are new with no prior issues I would leave it as a note and verbal warning. I'd have to tell the reporting cultist that they will have to roll with what's done at that point as they have already converted another cultist and created an artificer. The peace group might disavow the hostile one, there's a few options but the damage is done at this point.
  194. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:08 PM
  195. They respond, claiming that the gimimck was kinda bullshit and would've just made the round boring, and say they don't agree with the ruling
  196. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:08 PM
  197. I would tell them that the issue is closed and if they have problems with the decision they should open a staff complaint on the forums.
  198. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:09 PM
  199. Alright, think that's all for the question unless you got something to add?
  200. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:09 PM
  201. No, I think that's it.
  202. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:10 PM
  203. Alright, that'll be it for the situational questions, next two are more just personal questions, ready?
  204. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:10 PM
  205. Sure
  206. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:10 PM
  207. Do you have any concerns or things you'd like to bring up regarding your time as a moderator previously? Any questions or concerns?
  208. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:13 PM
  209. Not really. If I have one issue with moderating it's that if I were to play Head of Security or a busy role I tend to get a little overloaded but I plan to reserve a round where I turn off mod to play those roles so that I can enjoy the game when I need to and just observe or play a slower paced character like chaplain when I'm actively modding.
  210. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:14 PM
  211. Alright, ready for the last one?
  212. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:14 PM
  213. Sure
  214. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:14 PM
  215. If there's anything you would like to change regarding the server, what would it be?
  216. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:18 PM
  217. Make Unathi eligible for Captain.
  218.
  219. All jokes aside though, I really enjoy how things are. Pop could be higher sometimes but it's still a nice place to interact and hangout. That's really why I wanted to come back to modding so I could try to help keep things running smoothly.
  220. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:20 PM
  221. Alrighty, that should be it then
  222. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:20 PM
  223. Cool
  224. Yonnimer — Yesterday at 10:20 PM
  225. Anything you'd like to add in general?
  226. Evandorf — Yesterday at 10:21 PM
  227. No, I think we covered most of it.
