- General FAQ:
- I want to start playing this game, should I play on the Playdom site or on Facebook?
- Its recommended you play on Playdom if you are just starting out. It is easier to get allies without bugging your actual friends, and with free gold and Command Point tourneys. And since you already missed out on Mockingbird, there is literally no reason to start on Facebook.
- But I want to start on Facebook/I already started on Facebook!
- That's fine, there is a group for M:AA on Facebook. Go ahead and post that you want allies there, then change how they access your information and who you share things to etc, etc.
- What free hero should I pick?
- After a few missions you get one free hero, a choice between Cyclops, She-Hulk, Invisible Woman, Iron Fist, and Ms. Marvel. Most people will suggest Invisible Woman, because for newbies she can be very hard to deal with in PvP. But really it all comes down to preference. All of the free heroes are 15 cp, an incredibly low amount, and all of them are pretty strong in their own right. And all heroes give stat bonuses in PvP, even if they aren't in your team, so no character is useless. So pick your favorite. I like Cyke, Iceman(a namefag) likes Ms. Marvel, so it really is all down to preference.
- What heroes should I buy?
- If you are just starting out, one of the generally more advised heroes to buy is Spider-Man. He unlocks ALOT of content, and has an added bonus of being pretty strong. Storm is another good option, since she unlocks the Epic boss for 4.4(Chapter 4, Mission 4), which is regarded as the best mission for farming CP(Command Points). But honestly just go ahead and pick who you want. If Nightcrawler is your favorite Marvel hero of all time, just go ahead and buy him. I've seen a Nightcrawler at 1300 Rating in PvP, so its not like he can't succeed, he's just less than optimal.
- How do I get CP easily?
- 5 Starring a mission gives 5 CP, but its a one time deal per mission. Other than that, the Epic boss on mission 4.4 requires the lowest amount of CP to clear the map and epic boss. Other than THAT it mostly just comes from playing. Just gotta keep at it and pray to the RNG gods you get CP after bosses. It is recommended you do not spend Gold to turn into CP unless you really want someone. At the early levels Gold may seem abundant, and CP so scarce, but I assure you at later levels it is quite the opposite, and Gold is necessary for many items that are very, very strong.
- Is this a Pay2Win game? Can I succeed without spending any of my hard earned Jew dollars?
- Yes, it is a Pay2Win game, clear advantages can be purchased for large sums of Gold, but it is still very easy to succeed without spending a single dollar, and many do. Playdom frequently has Gold tournaments that gives 2 gold, and if you win an MVP award during any tournament(no matter the prize) you can win 2 gold as well. Facebook has many offers like a Netflix offer where you can cancel your subscription after a few days, but still keep the gold.
- I don't have enough of resource X!
- CP and Gold I discussed earlier
- Shield Points are impossible to run out of. Get allies, then visit them every day to get more shield points than you could possibly spend.
- Energy may seem like a problem, but make sure you have a bunch of allies, and gift regularly. If you gift, the chances you get gifts(and the same gift that you sent out) goes up. You could also make another account and send yourself Energy 50 times a day.
- If you are having problems with Silver, a few options here. One, be more diligent with sending out your Jets every 20 minutes, and make sure they are the highest level they can be. Its worth it to upgrade a jet before a hero, since a Jet WILL eventually pay itself off, then just give more profits. Another option is to use Leethax(leethax.net). Its an extension that only works with Firefox that sends out jets automatically every 3 minutes. I can't get the damn thing to work, but I also don't have silver problems so its not a big deal to me. Just saying if you do use it, deal with it yourself.
- What Heroes will I need for Spec Ops 5?
- Beast and Tigra(who is expected to come out next) will be required for the next Spec Ops with a 99% probability. Generally, any new Champions released between the new Spec Ops and the Spec Ops before it will be required. In addition to new champions they have been known to pick champions that have a lower player/ownership base, like Gambit.
- What is the next Spec Ops?
- Its Ultron Wars, with Vision as the prize.
- What is being released next?
- Who the hell knows? No one knows when either. Some things that have revealed and not released yet:
- 90's Cyclops - Outfit
- New Mutants Magik - outfit
- Modern Rogue - Outfit
- Black Knight - Hero
- Psylocke - Hero
- Captain Britain - Hero
- Havok - Hero
- X-23 - Hero
- Red Hulk - I think its a Hero, and not just a Costume
- Grey Hulk - This is an outfit for Green Hulk
- Daimon Hellstrom - Hero
- Those are some of the upcoming releases off of the top of my head. No one in the whole world has any clue when they will come(if they ever do), so don't hold your breathe and wait patiently.
- PvP FAQ:
- My sub-par team isn't adamantium! This is bullshit!
- This is a poorly balanced game. To be honest, if you want to reach the higher leagues in PvP you really do need to go out of your way to have an incredibly powerful team, full of incredibly powerful Heroes, with good Iso set ups, and good equipment on your Agent.
- What team should I use in PvP?
- There are many teams that do well, however there are a few characters currently that excel more than their counter parts:
- Scarlet Witch
- Dr. Strange
- Hercules
- Emma Frost
- Mockingbird
- Beast
- Ghost Rider
- What gear should I put on my Agent?
- There are probably 40 billion combinations that work well, but here are some of the objectively best equipment in the game:
- Golden Screaming Eagle (5-starring all missions in Chapter 3)
- Golden Tyrant Blade (5-starring all missions in Chapter 9)
- Magnetic Field Generator (Dropped from Epic Boss Magneto from Chapter 4 Mission 4)
- Quantum Jumper (Bought with 36 Gold once you hit level 60, no other requirements)
- Only For Killing (Dropped from Epic Boss Modok from Chapter 9 Mission 4)
- Dark Sigil (Dropped from Boss Dormammu from Chapter 9 Mission 6)
- Curative Reach (Bought from store with appropriate research and silver)
- Digital Decoy (Bought from store with appropriate research and silver)
- Possessed Pistol (Dropped from Epic Boss The Hood from Chapter 8 Mission 5)
- But sage! I can't get/do not have any of those weapons!
- If you cannot get them, then your Agent is probably too low level to be of any use in PvP other than as a supporter. At early levels your Agent is best as a support tool, but at later levels the Agent deals the most damage on your team. Plan your equipment choices accordingly. If you are above level 60 and don't have any of these weapons, you should probably get some of them.
- What should I put into my armory?
- Who cares? Just make sure that the combined bonus of every item you put in your armory is at LEAST 900. Before this was more difficult for lower levels, but now there are very nice items to buy in the store with solid PvP bonuses.
- What Isos should I put on my Heroes?
- Who knows? Honestly most Iso set ups are at best subjective as to what is optimal on each character. As a general rule, push advantages not cover for weaknesses, and pick either Offense or Defense. Don't you dare try to mix the two on a hero. For offense, Prioritize HP/ATK/ACC, and STAM if your chosen hero has stamina problems. For Defense prioritize HP/DEF.
