  1. Rosenkrantz:
  2. RosenkrantzGM IT IS THE 41st MILLENNIUM...
  3. Makh_Chomun makes his way toward where Lord Selvan is recovering from his "duel." He brings along 3rd Lt. Iyetsev and a small team of armsmen.
  4. Lucretia is on her way to argue for the life of the Temerin men.
  5. Neue_Ziel heads toward the librarium.
  6. Baine_Mort heads for the nearest bar.
  7. RosenkrantzGM The port remains busy, though commerce has significantly slowed down. Still, the bars and canteens remain open, and auction houses sell wares.
  8. Baine_Mort enters the first bar he finds.
  9. RosenkrantzGM You walk in, and half the room stands. You realize it's full of both senior and junior officers of the /Aurorae/.
  10. Baine_Mort looks at all of the officers, "At ease." Mort says to them. He then heads over to the bar counter.
  11. RosenkrantzGM The men sit after you do, and carry on their conversations, softly at first. Then the laughter begins, roaring as the merry men take advantage of their freedom. However temporary...
  12. Baine_Mort ask the bar tender for a beer.
  13. Caerwyn_Beraht wanders through the entrance, censer swinging like a pendulum in his hands. His inquisitive eyes scan the bar, the ghost of discomfort and fear lurking behind them. He rubs his bare chin with a free hand before questing further into this den of sin. He takes a seat at the bar.
  14. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ah, garcon? Might you get me some water? I'm parched."
  15. RosenkrantzGM The bartender nods, though appears a bit confused. He serves you a tall glass of water.
  16. Baine_Mort looks at the person sitting at the bar.
  17. Caerwyn_Beraht raises his glass in salute before bringing it to his lips. He mutters a silent prayer: "God-Emperor, I thank you for this small reprieve. May your faith fill my belly. Ave Imperator." The young man casts his glance to the stranger staring at him.
  18. Caerwyn_Beraht "I now this is a faithless place, my good man, but surely you have seen a priest before?"
  19. Caerwyn_Beraht *know
  20. Baine_Mort "Not one as young as you."
  21. Caerwyn_Beraht frowns, a hint of something profound tugging at his lips. "The work of a Questor does not wait for the march of time, my good man. Ah, my manners escape me! Praytell, what is your name my fellow transient?"
  22. Caerwyn_Beraht takes another sip. "God-Emperor, I thank you for this small reprieve. May your faith fill my belly. Ave Imperator." He swings his censor, letting the sweet smelling smoke drench the bar.
  23. Baine_Mort "Baine Mort, and you are?"
  24. Caerwyn_Beraht The young man is suddenly jolted, furrows developing in his brow. "You do not know who I am? Are you a simpleton?"
  25. Baine_Mort looks at his beer, "Well I don't see the problem, I have only arrived at this place recently."
  26. Baine_Mort drinks his beer.
  27. Caerwyn_Beraht can hardly speak, so red is he. He can scarcely see past the mouen that now masks his face. "I am Caerwyn Beraht, man! Son of Geraint Beraht, Questor Interlocutus, paragon of His Faith, wisdom seeker! Damnation, my son, you must have languished long in darkness to be so ignorant of your shepherds."
  28. Caerwyn_Beraht takes another sip of his liquid, before swinging his censer in Baine's face. "Certes, my friend, if there are foul creatures inside of you they shall no longer vex thee. Tell me, is your mind clear now? Can you recall my holiness?"
  29. RosenkrantzGM The bartender approaches, "Erm... do you mind?"
  30. RosenkrantzGM He fans away the strong aroma.
  31. Caerwyn_Beraht "Do YOU mind, garcon? I am trying to save this bedlamite from the ignorance this dark place has cursed him with! Begone, the Emperor's work shall carry on unabated!"
  32. RosenkrantzGM "Clerics..." he says under his breath, as he walks to another patron.
  33. Baine_Mort looks at the priest, "Well sir I don't think I'm the one that need help." He then finishes his beer a puts it down. Mort get up from the table and walks over to the offices sitting down.
  34. Baine_Mort "I'll see you all back on the ship." Mort then proceeds to leave the bar,
  35. Caerwyn_Beraht stands up, dogging his every step. "Wait, wait! Perhaps we have begun our interactions on a rather poor foot! I shall swear to you an abeyance of my ministrations if you would just lend me thy ear! Please!"
  36. RosenkrantzGM "Yes, my Lord!" they call back
  37. Baine_Mort continues to walk the hall of the station, ignoring the priest.
  38. Caerwyn_Beraht "You seem like one of those churlish, sailing types. May I petition your captain for employment for my followers and I? The only repayment I require is the oppurutnity to spread the good word of the God-Emperor and his most holy servants!"
  39. Caerwyn_Beraht quickly gains on the man, swinging his censer in a vigorous and violent motion. "Present me to whatever nabob you serve, I promise he won't be disappointed!"
  40. Baine_Mort stops, "Boy, do you want me to punch you?"
  41. Caerwyn_Beraht throws his arms up, feigning obsequiousness. "Milord, I'm desperate. I beg of thee. If you won't take me, I will be stuck in this hellish stew of godlessness! Surely, you feel some degree of commiseration towards my plight? The God-Emperor would smile upon you if you do."
  42. Caerwyn_Beraht "I mean, how could you distrust a follower of Interlocutus? The good saint taught candour, after all!"
  43. Baine_Mort looks over the Priest again and smiles, "Well if you really are really that desperate then follow me then." Mort start walking off towards the were the Aurorae is docked.
  44. Baine_Mort *the direction where
  45. Caerwyn_Beraht follows along, scribbling something on a piece of parchment as he goes. "Good, good, very good...O God-Emperor, Tibi gratias pro beneficiis"
  46. Baine_Mort tunes his Micro-Bead to the bridge of the Aurorae +Hello is any one there.+
  47. RosenkrantzGM +Master Mort?+
  48. Baine_Mort +Yes this is Mort, who am I speaking with?+
  49. RosenkrantzGM +YOUR MOM+
  50. Makh_Chomun [redaction]
  51. RosenkrantzGM +Vox-Operator Paulus, my Lord+
  52. Baine_Mort +I'm bringing aboard a guest that wishes to speak with our Lord Captain, is he available yet.+
  53. RosenkrantzGM +I'm... afraid not, Master Mort. He hasn't been on the bridge.+
  54. Baine_Mort +Then who is there that I can speak to that is currently in charge?+
  55. Caerwyn_Beraht leans in, grinning. He's trying to pick up the conversation.
  56. RosenkrantzGM +Lord Heinrich is presently in command+
  57. RosenkrantzGM Varenus_Grandier: +Hello everyone, we have a meeting later tonight with a Lord Cornavald.+
  58. Baine_Mort +Patch me through then.+ Mort says to Paulus.
  59. RosenkrantzGM +I will try, sir.+
  60. Baine_Mort +That will be much appreciated.+
  61. Baine_Mort responds to Varenus, +Understood,+
  62. Caerwyn_Beraht "So, has my abandoment in this godless place been forfended?"
  63. Baine_Mort "Nope, you'll have to wait and see."
  64. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: +This had better be important, Mr. Mort, to require my attention.+
  65. Caerwyn_Beraht pouts. "Why must my fate dangle so perilously?"
  66. Varenus_Grandier Varenus_Grandier +Mr.Chomun, Lucretia would like to speak to you when she is no longer intoxicated.+
  67. Baine_Mort +Hello Heinrich, I have someone who want to join our marry crew of misfits.+
  68. Baine_Mort (Merry)
  69. RosenkrantzGM +Damnit, boy, you call that important? I don't care. Have Mr. Chomun add him to the ship's ledger and give him the necessary clearance.+
  70. Varenus_Grandier +Would you enjoy to drink alcohol with us Chomun?+
  71. Baine_Mort +Understood+ switch his Mirco-bead over Chomun channel +Hey Chomun, you there.+
  72. RosenkrantzGM Makh_Chomun: +Mr. Mort let me get back to you, very urgent business, if it can be handled by Leftenant Downfield have her handle it.+
  73. Caerwyn_Beraht has grown *quite* impatient at this point, fiddling with his own microbead and shifting uncomfortably in place. God-Emperor knows how much filt and dirt is getting on his boots, what with all this walking he's doing!
  74. Baine_Mort +Understood, good luck+ "Well this day is going to be fun," Changes his mirco-bead channel again, +Come in Downfield, this is Mort do you copy?+
  75. Baine_Mort Redacted
  76. Baine_Mort +Understood, good luck+ "Well this day is going to be fun, follow me." Heads off to the Rosenkantz estate.
  77. Caerwyn_Beraht follows, breathing a sigh of relief. He thumbs his microbead: +Wen, tell Tao to wrangle the choir boys and fetch my things. God-Emperor willing, we may leave this place yet.+
  78. RosenkrantzGM +Which vessel will be our deliverance?+
  79. =-= RosenkrantzGM has changed the topic to “ROSENKRANTZ ESTATE”
  80. RosenkrantzGM =========SEVERAL MINUTES LATER==========
  81. RosenkrantzGM Hoards of records are piled atop the dining table, Lord Francisco Castelan and many dynastic aides sort through them.
  82. Makh_Chomun "Good day Lord Castelan! What did you need me for, Professor?"
  83. Baine_Mort enters the estate.
  84. Lucretia walks into the dining hall, surprised at al the records and documents. "I leave for a week and this is what you've done to the place?"
  85. RosenkrantzGM Francisco puts down a dataslate, and looks up at you. "Mr Chomun! Glad you could come so soon. It's to do with the Mercenaries."
  86. Varenus_Grandier follows quietly behind Lucretia
  87. Makh_Chomun "Oh? The ones our dear Lucretia found?"
  88. Caerwyn_Beraht peeks his head into the room, surverying the area before skittering inside. He stiffens his back and puffs out his chest, putting on airs before marching in.
  89. Makh_Chomun "Speaking of the demoness!"
  90. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Glad to have you all here. There's something I need to show you."
  91. Caerwyn_Beraht he takes a deep whiff of the room, smelling the refreshing stench of ink and paper. He lights his censer once again, and lets it swing on a slow pendulum in his grip.
  92. Lucretia frowns slightly. "I'm not that much of an old crone yet, Chomun." She then takes a seat and looks at Francisco. "And what would that b-" She then coughs as the scent of incense hits her.
  93. Makh_Chomun "Find a friend Mr. Mort?"
  94. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Have you seen this? It was on the local print..." he lays down a copy in front of you.
  95. RosenkrantzGM "ROSENKRANTZ: TYRANT OF FLORESTAL"
  96. Baine_Mort "Yea this is Caerwyn, he is looking to join our crew."
  97. Lucretia shrugs slightly. "Well, I warned him not to murder willy nilly."
  98. Makh_Chomun "Regarding this, I've seen it in passing, I've gotten my men to get some press-gangs to go around and clean up as much of this filth as possible."
  99. Varenus_Grandier "I do believe we have some upset locals on our hands."
  100. Caerwyn_Beraht shushes Baine. "'To open one's mouth in the presence of an open book is to slay wisdom at its most vulnerable', so sayeth Interlocutus."
  101. Lucretia leans forwards. "Right, so where did that paper come from?"
  102. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Lord Wilhelm is responding with a bit of propaganda of his own... here" he shows you a design. "Commissioned a remembrancer to give a 'truthful' account of the events."
  103. Lucretia whinces. "Uh... but aggresive, don't you all think?"
  104. Lucretia *bit
  105. Caerwyn_Beraht scoops up the paper from where it lays. He gives it a cursory look over, flipping through pages at a rapid pace. "Crass garbabe, all of this. How dare they spread this salacious nonsense, and disparage one of the Imperium's duly appointed servants?"
  106. RosenkrantzGM [Caerwyn]: You know the print style... this isn't the first time you see this sort of sensationalist content around the port. Amon Luram, formerly under the employ of Lord Temerin, owns the print. Temerin's House Guard recruitment posters, and all manner of propaganda depicting Lord Temerin as a hero of the Consortium were all made by Luram's print.
  107. Lucretia "Money, dear boy, money."
  108. Makh_Chomun "Not aggressive enough, considering how much Temerin has betrayed the dynasty."
  109. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "In any case, Port Florestal's Coat of Arms will be changing. Lord Wilhelm means to make a point to the Consortium about this."
  110. Lucretia "Hey, if you all want the port razed instead of brought back into the fold, please inform me because I clearly missed the memo."
  111. Lucretia "Also, I'm not here as far as upstairs is concerned."
  112. Lucretia makes a sign of drinking.
  113. Caerwyn_Beraht he throws the paper down before looking over to the woman he has yet to notice. "An astute obersvation, m'lady. Scurples are sadly lacking 'round here, it seems."
  114. Lucretia looks at the young man. "Traders aren't the most proper of His servants most of the time, I'm afraid."
  115. Caerwyn_Beraht "As a new member of this fine band of reprobates, I suggest that we proselytize. Surely those who oppose us will be swayed by the word of the God-Emperor?"
  116. Lucretia "Reprobates? Pardon?"
  117. RosenkrantzGM Francisco stares at the priest for a moment.
  118. Makh_Chomun "Who are you exactly, Priest?"
  119. RosenkrantzGM "He hasn't met Wilhelm, has he?"
  120. Lucretia "More like choir boy."
  121. Lucretia says with a small laugh.
  122. Caerwyn_Beraht blushes, averting his gaze from the woman. "I-uh, I am...Caerwyn, Caerwyn Beraht. Son of Geraint Beraht. Lore Seeker, Preacher, bearer of the Teachings of Interlocutus! The name of my family is known throughout the Segmentum Solar! Even the Eccelsiarch knows of me and my fahter's holy works!"
  123. Caerwyn_Beraht turns a deep beet red, biting his lip and muttering to himself. "I am no choir boy," He squeaks.
  124. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Adorable. Our Lord will like you, I'm sure."
  125. Varenus_Grandier "Now now, may we return to the task at hand?"
  126. Makh_Chomun "More than like." He says with a raise of the eyebrows.
  127. Neue_Ziel enters the room.
  128. Lucretia chuckles. "My apologies, your eminence. Not the church going sort. I tend to see to His will in the field. At the right end of a gun."
  129. Caerwyn_Beraht "O God-Emperor, Ut quid dereliquisti me? M'lady, I fear you and your companions need to take confession posthaste. Who knows what sort of sinfullness have entereted your pure body?"
  130. Neue_Ziel disables his Mechadendrite.
  131. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Lady Lucrezia, the Consortium has requested a meeting. I would like you all to attend. It will be held at the Cornivald Estate. There are many uncertainties that exist. If you can find any among the Consortium's leadership to replace Temerin, then do so. If none can be trusted, then we will place one of our own."
  132. Caerwyn_Beraht slaps himself in the face, realizing too late what he just uttered.
  133. Neue_Ziel "Did I miss something? Who's the priest-boy?"
  134. Makh_Chomun "Mr. Mort's friend, Ziel."
  135. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Ah yes... and Mr. Chomun? Be sure to execute the remaining Temerin Guard before this meeting."
  136. Varenus_Grandier "So do we have any idea who has been creating this propaganda?"
  137. Makh_Chomun "Where are they now, Professor?"
  138. Lucretia can't help but grin at the priest's words before turning back to the matter at hand. "Right." She says with some playful joy back in her voice. "Oh, yeah... about that..." the joy once more is gone.
  139. Lucretia "I would like to ask for any records you may have on the Temerin guard."
  140. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "They have been rounded up as part of a 'press gang' and are being held at a former Temerin auction house. Should be an easy enough task, Mr. Chomun."
  141. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Records? What for?"
  142. Caerwyn_Beraht "This print is the work of one Amon Laram, former employee of our friend Lord Temerin. Naturally it paints the man like a hero of the Consortium. Rubbish, all of it."
  143. Lucretia "Mercenary business. There may be some info there that may give us some sway in further contract negotiation."
  144. Neue_Ziel "Master of Ordnance Mort. Care to inform me what has happened?"
  145. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "I thought their loyalty was already assured, Lucrezia?"
  146. Lucretia "It is, but those contracts will need renewal in the future."
  147. RosenkrantzGM "Mr. Chomun will be taking charge of that. I need you to focus on the Consortium negotiations. They are crucial."
  148. Baine_Mort "Went to a bar, found a priest, came here and now we have found out that someone named Amon Laram owns the print of these posters."
  149. Lucretia leans back into her chair. "Very well... not much I can do about them currently, though. Well, besides getting into more appropiate clothing."
  150. Neue_Ziel "What about Wilhelm's next conquest...? I mean the priest-boy."
  151. Lucretia "Hey, hey, don't scare him."
  152. Caerwyn_Beraht balls his fists and shouts, "I IMPLORE YOU ALL TO TREAT ME WITH THE RESPECT ACCORDED TO MY STATION!"
  153. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Listen. You are all representatives of this Dynasty. Act like it."
  154. Baine_Mort "It seems he is desperate to get off this station, and it seems he could be useful."
  155. Makh_Chomun "Leftenant, get on the comms and get a platoon of armsmen over to the auction house formerly owned by Temerin. Tell them I'll be there shortly."
  156. Neue_Ziel "I'm sorry, Professor Francisco. I have acted disgracefully."
  157. Lucretia "Oh, pardon me but I've done plenty of acting for the last few months. Wanted to let off some steam."
  158. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Ah, yes, and your Holiness? Lord Wilhelm isn't exactly a pious fellow. Which means the Ship lacks a Confessor. If you'll be inclined to perform such duties without much support from anyone else, you're welcome to board the vessel with the title."
  159. RosenkrantzGM Iyetsev: "Aye, sir!" he salutes and takes his leave.
  160. Caerwyn_Beraht folds his arms and takes a deep breath, calming down. "I accept it. I apologize for my gross misconduct."
  161. Lucretia turns to Caerwyn. "Do you know where our ship is?"
  162. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "Do you have any serfs or servants I need to log on the ledger?"
  163. Neue_Ziel [Explorator Binary] "More conquests?"
  164. Caerwyn_Beraht whispers, "Benedic, sanctum est enim fides fit via semper." He mouths a quick cantillation before turning to Lucretia. "No, m'lady. Would you be so kind as to guide me, and assure me that all things shall be copacetic for me and my followers?"
  165. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ah, yes m'lord. I have a small retinue of cherubs and choir boys with me. I also need to arrange suitably posh quaraters for my maidservant Aeronwen and my bodyguard, Sister Tao Xen. I trust you can arrange this?"
  166. Lucretia nods. "Certainly. I'll lead you to the Aurorae after we are done here. Also, for Thrones sake speak Low Gothic."
  167. RosenkrantzGM Francisco: "We have quarters of luxury suitable to a man of your station... and your servants, of course.".
  168. Caerwyn_Beraht "M'lady! I can't bring myself to do such a thing! It would be like deprieving thee of your weapons, or the mechanical man his implants."
  169. RosenkrantzGM ========SKIPAROO!=======Dress well, and be on your best behavior======
  170. RosenkrantzGM Evening comes, and you are greeted at the Cornivald Estate by unarmed sentries -House Guards being banned by Arbitrator-General Chomun.
  171. Lucretia walks in wearing one of her lighter and more comfortable dresses, at least she could have that small freedom. It was still one of fine make.
  172. Baine_Mort enters wearing his Imperial Navy Uniform and Mono-Sword.
  173. Lucretia "Everyone's so damned formal. All uniforms."
  174. Makh_Chomun Arbitrator-General Chomun is wearing his formal uniform, as befitting his rank, with fur draping across the left shoulder down across the chest. He has equipped himself with his mono-edged Falchion and one of his bolt-pistols. He has even brought his grappnlehawk who resides on his right shoulder, scanning and looking pristine.
  175. Caerwyn_Beraht stalks behind, closely, dressed in his handsome robes.
  176. Neue_Ziel is wearing clean red Mars Priest Hood Rode and is carrying his shock staff and boltgun along with a few other trinkets.
  177. Varenus_Grandier is wearing what he was before, Impeccably clean nobility robes and a silk headscarf concealing his third eye. His hellpistol positioned in a holster under his robes
  178. Caerwyn_Beraht swings his censer to and fro, praying silently to himself.
  179. Baine_Mort "Yea, well we are representing the Rosenkrantz after all."
  180. Lucretia lightly shrugs. "Oh well."
  181. Makh_Chomun "Well I'm sure you're just glad not having to wear a dress heavier than I am, eh?" Barks of laughter escape his frame.
  182. RosenkrantzGM You are escorted to a large hall, two long tables stand parallel to eachother in a chamber. Florestal Consortium representatives stand behind their seats, and wait for you to sit on the table across the chamber from them. Lord Cornivald stands in the middle of them all, "Please, come in. Have a seat. We thank you for coming."
  183. Neue_Ziel "I'm confused. I thought people were disgusted when I wear my oil and blood stained robes."
  184. Varenus_Grandier "I rather enjoy it, reminds me of home."
  185. Lucretia speaks just before entering. "You don't have the faintest idea of how happy I am about that." She then walks in and takes her seat.
  186. Makh_Chomun "Thank you for having us Lord Cornivald!" Makh says as he takes a seat at the middle of the table.
  187. Baine_Mort enters and takes his seat.
  188. Caerwyn_Beraht shuffles to his seat, getting censer smoke all over it. "Benedic ,convenimus, Benedic."
  189. Varenus_Grandier takes a seat
  190. Caerwyn_Beraht takes a small vial from his robe, and sprinkles water on the seat. "Benedic, Convenimus, Benedic. Ave Imperator." He then takes his seat.
  191. Neue_Ziel activates his Mechadendrite and sits next to Beraht.
  192. RosenkrantzGM After the last of you sits, the Consortium representatives take theirs.
  193. RosenkrantzGM "We do appreciate your presence," Lord Cornivald begins, with a smile on his face.
  194. Caerwyn_Beraht coughs, the acrid smoke getting in his eyes. "God-Emperor's sake, man! Show some respect!"
  195. Lucretia shoots a stare at both Carwyn and Ziel.
  196. Caerwyn_Beraht lifts his censer, swinging it in the tech-priest's face. Abscede , Daemones !
  197. RosenkrantzGM "Though we can't but notice the good /Lord/ Rosenkrantz isn't here to speak on these important matters himself." a man sitting far to Cornivald's side chimes in.
  198. Neue_Ziel disables his Mechadendrite.
  199. RosenkrantzGM "Amon, please..." Cornivald beseeches the man.
  200. Caerwyn_Beraht "He sent us in his stead, my good man. Is not a great compliment, sending Caerwyn Beraht to entreat with you?"
  201. Makh_Chomun "My Lord Liege is currently still in mourning for his deceased Cousin. I'm sure you can respect that." Makh replies, eyeing the man who spoke.
  202. Neue_Ziel elbows the priest-boy.
  203. Lucretia sighs and turns to the representative. "The good Lord is currently in mourning. His cousin was lost at the hands of mister Temerin, as you probably well know." She responds, her words filled with venomous hints.
  204. Caerwyn_Beraht whispers to the tech-priest. "What? Men have died to meet with me and my father. It truly is a great boon."
  205. Neue_Ziel whispers back "Who?"
  206. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "And now... let us begin."
  207. Caerwyn_Beraht sputters and sighs. There are more important matters to attend to; dismantling this scurrilous tech-pirest can wait.
  208. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: “With Temerin out of the picture, and no surviving legal heirs to his Estate - a significant amount of wealth, I might add, the Consortium is feeling the pressure.
  209. |<-- Mally has left irc.thisisnotatrueending.com (Ping timeout)
  210. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "Questions have come up, Lady Lucrezia... have you seen some of the recent prints?"
  211. Lucretia "Indeed, they have come to our attention. Some of the publications even belong to gentlemen currently within this room. A rather sad state of affairs. The Rosenkrantz Dynasty has the utmost interest in restablishing a healthy relationship with the Consortium."
  212. Baine_Mort whispers to Ziel, "Looks like you two will get along nicely."
  213. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "And they speak truth!"
  214. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald sighs.
  215. Neue_Ziel whispers to Mort "I don't know what you mean."
  216. Lucretia "Oh? Truth? Like how my Lord's cousin wasn't imprisoned by Temerin men?"
  217. Lucretia "And how he wasn't shot by Lord Temerin himself?"
  218. Lucretia "Because that's some pretty flimsy truth."
  219. Baine_Mort whispers to Ziel, "You priest should stick together you know."
  220. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "If the man was imprisoned, it is because he was a criminal. Temerin was just."
  221. Caerwyn_Beraht nods along, looking quite determined. "She speaks the truth, milords. You should be ashamed, slinging such canard!"
  222. Lucretia "I was there when it happened, there was no justice in his actions, mister Amon."
  223. Makh_Chomun watches on, his hands interlocked in his lap.
  224. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "My question is… are we under indefinite Rosenkrantz occupation? The Merchant houses, Banking houses, Chartist Captains… they are all pressing for answers. "
  225. RosenkrantzGM "Hear hear!" the Consortium representatives echo
  226. Neue_Ziel whispers to Caerwyn "I think our Master of Ordnance may need one of your serums."
  227. RosenkrantzGM "Will the Consortium be allowed to maintain freedom to function?" one of them calls
  228. RosenkrantzGM " Is Lord Castelan to rule as a Governor from the Rosenkrantz Estate?" yet another chimes in
  229. Caerwyn_Beraht whispers back to the tech-priest: "Oh? I am well versed in the art of medicae. Does his humours need balancing?"
  230. Lucretia raises her hands, smiling. "One at a time, gentlemen."
  231. Neue_Ziel starts laughing.
  232. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "Is this amusing, techpriest?"
  233. Lucretia "Now, the immediate state of affairs and it's duration depends mostly on your willingness to cooperate. Both in the reconstruction efforts and in the required restructuring. As well as in the matter of all the propaganda flying around." She then stares at Ziel. "Indeed, is there something funny we are missing?"
  234. Neue_Ziel tries to stop himself from laughing and says "Nothing. Nothing at all."
  235. Caerwyn_Beraht "Gentlement, gentlemen, we hear your concerns but you must repudiate this dated concept that those in control are your oppressors. We seek to work with you, express the solidarity that is our species. Is not true that our society is an interconnected organism, each component fulfilling a function within the greater skin of the Imperium? How can we function, if the heart does not agree with
  236. Caerwyn_Beraht the brain?"
  237. Lucretia leans back into her chair and subtly rolls her eyes.
  238. RosenkrantzGM "You speak of solidarity, priest, but you negotiate with an occupying force in our port and a vessel that could decimate anything in the system!"
  239. RosenkrantzGM the other representatives tap on the table, "clapping" in agreement
  240. Varenus_Grandier listens quietly, watching the conversation unfold
  241. Makh_Chomun "I would like to remind the Consortium, that the only reason we even arrived, is because your former Lord Temerin broke his oaths to the Rosenkrantz Dynasty. I am sure as long as you cooperate this will all go smoothly and we'll not bother you again."
  242. Neue_Ziel "If you didn't anger the machine spirit, the holy vessel wouldn't have attacked."
  243. Caerwyn_Beraht "If our intent was to enslave you, to decimate you, would we not have done so already? Why would we, we so called dictators, even listen to you air your remonstrations. Whether you like it or not, brothers, we are here to work with you, not fetter you." The priest grins, smug.
  244. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald raises his hands up, silencing his comrades.
  245. Lucretia subtly grits her teeth. 'Why was she here, again?' She thought.
  246. Varenus_Grandier gives Lucretia a reassuring smile
  247. RosenkrantzGM "They speak true, friends. Temerin fooled us all. He provoked Rosenkrantz. The tithe was his responsibility, as was interaction with Dynastic representatives. Temerin took such matters into his own hands, entrusted by the Dynasty to fill in for the 'implied powers' of the Compact. And if Lady Lucrezia's claims are true, the only reason he gained so much power was because he embezzled funds belonging to the Dynasty."
  248. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "The priests speak nonsense. A Machine spirit didn't cause this. It was Rosenkrantz Greed. This is the very reason you won't destroy us, because you wish to take, and take, and take some more!"
  249. RosenkrantzGM Once again, the Consortium representatives roar in agreement.
  250. RosenkrantzGM An older man now speaks up, his voice softer, more frail. As he does so, those sitting at his table fall silent, wishing to hear him.
  251. RosenkrantzGM "Mister Chomun..."
  252. Lucretia stands up. "Mister Amon! If that were the case, why is it that Dynasty funds are the ones used to repair YOUR station?"
  253. Caerwyn_Beraht "Nonsense?" Caerwyn growls, gritting his teeth. "This plebeian believe me a charlatan? The nerve...!"
  254. Lucretia then quiets down as the man talks.
  255. RosenkrantzGM Amon's face burns red, but he refrains from interrupting the more senior representative.
  256. RosenkrantzGM "Mister Chomun, I direct this to you in your function as Arbitrator-General..."
  257. Varenus_Grandier stands up
  258. RosenkrantzGM "What is to happen to Security? The good people of this Port do not feel safe. Will it remain a function of the Florestal Consortium to provide for it?"
  259. RosenkrantzGM The man coughs, and takes a sip of water to calm it down. He clears his throat before continuing, "Will the Mercenary Captains be instead under Rosenkrantz employ, and loyal to the Dynasty?"
  260. Varenus_Grandier " Hello, I am the House Visscher Representative for the Rosenkrantz dynasty
  261. Varenus_Grandier ."
  262. Varenus_Grandier {redacted}
  263. Makh_Chomun sits forward. "The question is then, how loyal is the Consortium to the Dynasty? Given the example of your former leader the answer was no, now it seems it might still be no, given how some of your number are acting. My compatriots make good points, if we were here to conquer you, you would not be here."
  264. Makh_Chomun smooths his hair before continuing.
  265. Baine_Mort listens to the people argue.
  266. Neue_Ziel covers his face after seeing Chomun play with his hair.
  267. Makh_Chomun "What can you do to prove that you are still loyal to the Dynasty? If you can prove you will not make the same /mistake/," he shoots a look at Amon, "then your autonomy will not be threatened, and I will personally see to the training of your new defensive forces."
  268. Makh_Chomun "So, in short, you tell me."
  269. Caerwyn_Beraht bites his lower lip, the tension disquieting him, "Pax , pax inter nos frateris" He whispers, over and and over and over...
  270. RosenkrantzGM "Understand, Mister Chomun... the Consortium delegated the responsibility to Temerin. Young Amon, I am sorry to say," he looks over to him with a somewhat apologetic expression, "was too attached to the deceased Temerin to see his betrayal. Betrayal to us all, sir," he maintains eye contact with Chomun.
  271. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "We are ready to sign a new Compact with the Dynasty. One which will clearly define the relationship the Consortium will have with our Liege Lord and his lineage."
  272. Makh_Chomun "Then who would you choose then to lead, if we give back your autonomy?"
  273. Lucretia "And what would be the terms of this new Compact?"
  274. RosenkrantzGM The old man adds, "What of the right of the Major Houses of the Consortium to maintain House Guards? You made no mention of this, Mr. Chomun."
  275. Lucretia looks at Chomun.
  276. Lucretia "That right will be allowed to persist, although with some limitations. An understandable solution, I think."
  277. Makh_Chomun nods at Lucrezia. "I also did not need to question the loyalty of the Major Houses until this betrayal came to light. Prove your loyalty and you may retain your House Guard, though they will be far less than previous."
  278. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "There is a more pressing matter... something that will stand at the core of a new Compact: As for the matter of the tithe… is it the wish of the Dynasty to collect all that it is owed? How sharp a raise will that reflect?"
  279. RosenkrantzGM Each group then takes time to discuss their terms for the new Compact.
  280. RosenkrantzGM After you make your decisions, you convene again and present your demands.
  281. Varenus_Grandier "I will be apart of these negotiates to represent my house."
  282. Varenus_Grandier Negotiations*
  283. Caerwyn_Beraht swings his censor, sprinkling water as he walks a circuit around the room. "I bless this negotiation...Interlocutus...Jocus...God-Emperor...I bless this place. May honesty reign. Ave Imperator.".
  284. Lucretia sighs and sits for a moment. "Alright. At the most basic we propose the following: You will need to change your coat of arms somewhat, indicating a new and bountiful beginning between us. You will be allowed to operate independently with a Dynasty representative having a listening role in the decision making process and a supervising role in terms of order and tithe. Security will
  285. Lucretia be dealt in the following way: A 60-40 percent split in terms of cost and forces in place. With that 40 percent being divided equally between the houses composing the Consortium. Now, on the matter of debt...The Temerin state is to be liquidated and that will be used to pay part of the debt while the rest will be paid with the taxes being increased to 10 percent until settled. Does this
  286. Lucretia sound agreeable, gentlemen?"
  287. Varenus_Grandier "The House Visscher is in complete support of this compact."
  288. RosenkrantzGM They discuss the matter among themselves for a while.
  289. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald stands.
  290. RosenkrantzGM "While there are... reservations... on the matter of the legality of liquidation of the Temerin Estate, you are generous to allow a large portion of the debt to be paid from this source. That being said..." he stops, looks at his peers, sighs slightly, and takes a gulp of water.
  291. RosenkrantzGM "...that being said, to double the tithe is very taxing. Consider, my Lords, that the port will not be back to full functionality for several months."
  292. Varenus_Grandier "If I may, this has been very taxing on the Dynasty as well."
  293. Lucretia "What would be a more... accomodating tithe?"
  294. RosenkrantzGM The representatives whisper among themselves.
  295. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "6 percent."
  296. Lucretia "7 percent."
  297. Caerwyn_Beraht "The miser, blinded by greed, cannot see the Emperor's holy light, so sayeth Interlocutus..."
  298. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "Six and a half percent."
  299. Lucretia "6.80"
  300. Varenus_Grandier looks at her "I would like to be consulted on this matter also."
  301. Lucretia "Or do you want to talk it with Lord Wilhelm when he's back? I'm sure he'll love putting it at say... 20?"
  302. RosenkrantzGM Amon chuckles.
  303. Caerwyn_Beraht "Six percent, but priests and their entourages get free passage through the station and exclusive proselytizing rights."
  304. Lucretia looks at Caerwyn. "You know, that's a good one."
  305. Lucretia "What about that?"
  306. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald looks surprised. "You... agree with 6?"
  307. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ahem. Six and the caveat."
  308. Varenus_Grandier "This is ludicrous, they should feel the weight on their profit, not by a single persent."
  309. Lucretia nods at Caerywn's direction. "Oh and their lodgings will be prioritized towards dynasty businesses, if available."
  310. Caerwyn_Beraht "We came here, mutant, with a message of solidarity. Crushing them with tithes is a bit hypocritical, no?"
  311. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "The effective leadership of our Liege's representatives, everyone" he mocks
  312. Varenus_Grandier turns to the priest "That is a fight far to large for you child."
  313. Varenus_Grandier returns to the negotiation
  314. Neue_Ziel grabs Beraht and sits him down.
  315. RosenkrantzGM The others laugh.
  316. Lucretia "Mister Amon... if you'd rather not negotiate and return to hostilities, by all means. We still have men around. And a ship."
  317. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "There is no need for that, my Lady... these are negotiations."
  318. Lucretia "Or you can sit down and be civil about it."
  319. Lucretia "Of course, Lord Cornivald but our patience is wearing thin from his childish attacks."
  320. Makh_Chomun "Lord Cornivald, these negotiations would go much smoother if you could keep the late betrayers pet silent."
  321. RosenkrantzGM Amon: "Insolent scum!"
  322. RosenkrantzGM The representatives fall silent. Realizing what he's just done, they don't dare back him.
  323. Varenus_Grandier turns to Amon
  324. Lucretia looks at him and grins. "You sure you want to go down that path?"
  325. Caerwyn_Beraht rolls his eyes. "Ecquiscus erit pax?"
  326. Baine_Mort puts his hand on his sword
  327. Lucretia "If you want to go ahead with it, by all means. Let me get my chainsword."
  328. RosenkrantzGM Amon stands.
  329. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "Lady Lucrezia, Gentlemen, please!"
  330. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "I invite you here to my Estate, my home, to have civil negotiation."
  331. Caerwyn_Beraht "Then silence this fool. His jejune maundering is destroying the peace we are trying to build!"
  332. Lucretia "And we have done our best to do so. But that's difficult when we continue to be insulted and provoked by one of your own."
  333. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald turns to Amon. "Mr. Luram... your interests are no longer aligned with that of the Florestal Consortium."
  334. RosenkrantzGM "You remain free to conduct business on this port, but consider yourself a free-agent. You are barred from attending any Consortium Council meetings, and you no longer enjoy the privileges of member-houses. You shall be payed your contributions fees for the year, as severance."
  335. Makh_Chomun A predators grin slowly creeps across Makh's face.
  336. RosenkrantzGM Amon goes pale. His body language changes completely.
  337. RosenkrantzGM He straightens his coat, and storms out of the chamber, without a word.
  338. Makh_Chomun smooths his hair again. "Now then. Shall we continue, my lords?"
  339. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald sits back in his chair, and takes a deep sigh.
  340. Lucretia looks at him as he leaves. "Right...that was unfortunate."
  341. Varenus_Grandier settles in, his face a mask
  342. Baine_Mort relaxes and moves his hand off his sword.
  343. RosenkrantzGM Cornivald: "My Lords... you have been more than patient..."
  344. RosenkrantzGM "We will agree to a 7% tithe for the trouble we have caused, and recognize it as just."
  345. Varenus_Grandier "I find this acceptable."
  346. Lucretia takes her own seat and rubs her temples. "Can the ecclesiarchal addition remain?"
  347. RosenkrantzGM His fellow representatives roar in disagreement. Cornivald now raises his voice, "And I will meet this amount from my own Estate if need be!"
  348. Neue_Ziel rolls his eyes.
  349. RosenkrantzGM The representatives appear calmed by this.
  350. Makh_Chomun Greedy little serpents, Makh thinks to himself.
  351. Caerwyn_Beraht gasps, a grin forming across his face. There is a twinkle in his eye. "Lord Corinvald, Jocus the Drah of Erudition would smile upon your nobility. Truly, you are a gift to this Imperium."
  352. Neue_Ziel facepalms.
  353. Caerwyn_Beraht "I have considerable influence with my peers in my ecclesiarchy. I will be sure to sing that praises, milord. Mille super vos"
  354. RosenkrantzGM "We will have our clerks work with yours and Lord Castelan to iron out the details," he bows his head to the Priest.
  355. RosenkrantzGM "I thank you for your time, my lords."
  356. Lucretia "Very well... And we thank you all for your time, comprehension and patience, gentlemen. Truly."
  357. Varenus_Grandier stands and bows to the men "Have a good evening."
  358. RosenkrantzGM They all stand.
  359. Lucretia starts to stand up and bows.
  360. Caerwyn_Beraht stands, sprinkling a single drop of water into the center of the room. He draws his chainsword, The Final Rejoinder, and cuts his finger on one of teeth. The sanguine liquid drops, and mingles with the water.
  361. Caerwyn_Beraht "Per sanguinem comprobareturas."
  362. Makh_Chomun "What will become of Lord Amon, now that he is a free-agent? Should I or the dynasty need to worry about him?" Makh asks as he stands.
  363. RosenkrantzGM "He will fall into place eventually, Mr. Chomun. Nothing you should concern yourselves with."
  364. Neue_Ziel [Explorator Binary] "Praise the Omnissiah! It's finally over."
  365. Makh_Chomun Makh smiles. "Very good, my lords, may the Emperor be with you." He says with a slight bow.
  366. Neue_Ziel "I hope Lord Wilhelm will be pleased."
  367. Lucretia "Have a good night, my lords." And with that, she turns to leave.
  368. Varenus_Grandier follows her out
  369. RosenkrantzGM +Master Chomun, this is Heinrich. Round up the crew. A new course is set, and we begin undocking procedures within the hour+
  370. Caerwyn_Beraht shadows Lucretia, glowing with self-satisfaction.
  371. Makh_Chomun +Aye, I'll set to it straight away.+
  372. Lucretia speaks up once she was out of the room. "I need a few drinks. Anyone know a good place?"
  373. Neue_Ziel follows Lucretia.
  374. Makh_Chomun "It'll have to be aboard the ship, we're setting off."
  375. Baine_Mort "That went better then expected." He stands and leaves, making his way to the Aurorae.
  376. Makh_Chomun coordinates via vox with his officers to organize the crew to re-board the vessel.
  377. Lucretia looks at Chomun. "We are? Already? Come on..."
  378. Lucretia "Why can't I be properly rewarded with some peace and quiet and a bottle of good spirit for once?"
  379. Makh_Chomun "Hop to Leftenant." Makh turns to Lucrezia, "aye, there's more adventure to be had, dear "sister!" He starts to roar in laughter as he walks off.
  380. Caerwyn_Beraht "Aye, give the woman her daemon's piss. She's earned it."
  381. Lucretia follows, stopping and turning towards Caerwyn. "Excuse me?"
  382. Varenus_Grandier "I win purchase you the finest bottle of whatever you'd like nearest chance we get."
  383. RosenkrantzGM ======SKIPPIN' TO SHIP=====
  384. Makh_Chomun proceeds immediately to the bridge.
  385. RosenkrantzGM The new members of the crew are shown to their luxurious quarters. They are, indeed, pure luxury, a veritable source of income, you realize, if wealthy passengers pay for passage. And as it happens, such is precisely the case, as you find several quarters occupied by nobles and merchants who have paid to board the /Aurorae/ to its next destination.
  386. Baine_Mort makes his way to the bridge with Chomun.
  387. Makh_Chomun "Leftenant Iyetsev are all crew who are re-boarding accounted for?"
  388. Neue_Ziel waiting on the bridge and is reading "Passions in Battle."
  389. RosenkrantzGM "Aye, sir!"
  390. Varenus_Grandier proceeds to the navigator's chamber."
  391. Caerwyn_Beraht swings his censer quite vigorously as he boards, muttering prayers of abjuration, steeling his new home against the monsters of the warp. He assures that his servants are properly accounted for before heading to the bridge.
  392. Lucretia is sitting at a free chair by the Auspex screens, a half full glass of amasec at hand.
  393. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm then walks into the ship's bridge.
  394. RosenkrantzGM He looks pale, and tired.
  395. Varenus_Grandier changes his mind and heads to the bridge
  396. Makh_Chomun "Very good." At the sight of Wilhelm Makh salutes his Lord-Captain with a fist to the chest.
  397. Lucretia doesn't say anything but a whispered. "Good day, m'lord." towards her glass before drinking.
  398. Makh_Chomun "Captain on deck!"
  399. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ah, Lord Wilhelm, I am Caerwyn Beraht. Perhaps you have heard of me? I am the most recent addition to thy crew." He bows deeply. ""Salutamus vos , et respiciamus"
  400. Baine_Mort salutes, "My Lord Captain."
  401. Varenus_Grandier takes a low bow
  402. Lucretia then stands and salutes, somewhat later than most.
  403. Neue_Ziel stops reading and says [Rogue Cant] "Is something wrong, Lord-Captain?"
  404. RosenkrantzGM "Emperor have mercy..." Wilhelm says under his breath after being greeted by the Priest.
  405. RosenkrantzGM [Trader Cant] "Who thought this was a good idea?..."
  406. RosenkrantzGM He sits upon his Command Throne.
  407. Neue_Ziel looks over at Mort.
  408. Caerwyn_Beraht "Milord, I know we have only just been acquanted but I feel obligated to inform you of your uncouth appearance. Don't you think it is unbecoming to appear so haggard when you are, by divine right, the voice of the Emperor in the stars?"
  409. Lucretia mutters to herself. "You could use the spiritual guidance..."
  410. Caerwyn_Beraht takes his censer and begins to orbit around the command throne, praying.
  411. RosenkrantzGM "Master-at-Arms, it the boy keeps that up, gag him."
  412. Lucretia "Caerwyn, I need your attention for a moment, if you may."
  413. Makh_Chomun "As you will, m'lord."
  414. Caerwyn_Beraht perks up. "At once, m'lady!"
  415. Neue_Ziel [Trader Cant] "I don't think that will silence him for long."
  416. RosenkrantzGM "Monsieur Grandier, destination is Port Wander. Charts will be here for your use soon."
  417. Lucretia then does her best to keep him busy with what theological questions she can come up with.
  418. Caerwyn_Beraht The young man scampers over, incense trailing in billowing clouds.
  419. Varenus_Grandier nods and heads for the Navigator's chamber and begins preparations
  420. Lucretia also offers him a drink while she's at it.
  421. RosenkrantzGM "Sheamus, begin undocking procedures."
  422. RosenkrantzGM Sheamus: "Aye, Cap'n!"
  423. Caerwyn_Beraht takes the glass, gingerly. He eyeballs the liquid, shame swimming in his eyes. He quickly resolves whatever conflict he is having inside him and takes a wig. "This odd vinous substance tastes like..." He gags
  424. Caerwyn_Beraht "A little strong...!"
  425. Neue_Ziel continues to read his book.
  426. Lucretia chuckles and can't help but pat the priest's back. "There, there. Maybe we should get you something softer."
  427. Baine_Mort grins
  428. Caerwyn_Beraht furrows his brow. "No, I can handle it!" He takes another swig, discomort contoring his face.
  429. Lucretia frowns as she tries to take her drink back. "Hey, hey! Easy!"
  430. Baine_Mort "Boy, you'll get use to it."
  431. Neue_Ziel "If he vomits, I'm not cleaning the bridge."
  432. Caerwyn_Beraht reluctantly returns the drink. "Lady Lucretia, please, my service to the God-Emperor has hardened me against worse things than strong drink."
  433. Caerwyn_Beraht gags, he scrapes his tongue with his hand. "Interlocutus enlighten me...people drinkt his willingly?"
  434. Lucretia looks at him incredulously. "You don't seem to be enjoying this one."
  435. Lucretia "It can be a bit of an acquired taste, you see."
  436. Makh_Chomun takes his place to the left of the command throne, nodding at the First Leftenant as he walks over.
  437. Lucretia "Some can be quite sweet, though."
  438. Baine_Mort "He does seems more of the sweet drinking type."
  439. Caerwyn_Beraht "Then I shall acquire it. I suspect serving here will require me to imbibe more of this mawkish liquid."
  440. Lucretia "I got you covered. Got a decent collection myself."
  441. Lucretia "And well, alcohol is part of ship life."
  442. Caerwyn_Beraht "Do you have Filiopan Shining Star?"
  443. Lucretia tilts her head. "I'd need to check."
  444. Neue_Ziel checks on the console for any problems with the ship systems and engine.
  445. Caerwyn_Beraht "Don't bother. Only the Interlocutus priesthood has it. We use it during meditation. One sip and the entire universe of the Imperial truth is open to you. I was...erm...well something happened before I was old enough to partake in it."
  446. Lucretia can't help but smile. "I see... sounds like quite the 'drink'. And you'd be surprised at what people can find in Wander."
  447. RosenkrantzGM The ship undocks successfully, and begins to cruise within the system for some time.
  448. Caerwyn_Beraht "I know, it distresses me greatly. A place ostensibly apart of the Imperium's realm, but still so mired in heresy. How could this antipode between what is and what should be exist?"
  449. Lucretia "Money, the frontier and of course, His Navy."
  450. Lucretia says the last bit with some pride.
  451. RosenkrantzGM St. Macharius's statue flickers as the Geller field comes to life. Alarms signal the ship's imminent insertion into the warp. Lights on the bridge dim to a low glow.
  452. Caerwyn_Beraht turns pale. He claps his hands together and bows his head.
  453. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ominius...Ominius...Ominius..Obsecro Increpa stamine...Ominius...Ominius..."
  454. RosenkrantzGM "Mr. Grandier is a masterful navigator. Don't worry yourself too much, boy."
  455. Neue_Ziel +Omnissianic Congregator Kurma start the prayers to aid the machine spirit.+
  456. RosenkrantzGM +Yes, Master+
  457. Caerwyn_Beraht He swings his censer to and fro, sprinkling holy water across the bridge. He even puts a dab of it on the head of the good captain. "Benedictus hunc famulumin tuum , quoniam ipse est!"
  458. Makh_Chomun folds his arms as he watches the bridge crew work.
  459. Neue_Ziel +Leader Magos Enginarium Katherine. Keep status on the geller fields.+
  460. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ominius! Ominius! Obsecro Increpa Stamine! OMINIUS!"
  461. RosenkrantzGM The warp drives hum, the entire ship resonates along with them, the vibrations traveling through every inch of the vessel.
  462. Varenus_Grandier +Everything looks to be fine Lord.+
  463. RosenkrantzGM +Geller fields 100% operational+
  464. Makh_Chomun takes the priest by the collar and drags him to the far side. "Please don't do that, I'd hate to have to throw you into the air-lock."
  465. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: +My trust is in you, as always, Monsieur Grandier.+
  466. Lucretia walks up to them. "The one time he's doing it when he should and you are against it? Or am I missing something?"
  467. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ach! Lord Chomun, I ammerely doing my duly ordained task! If I did not do my blessings, the worst would come to pass! *They*...They would walk among us. You do not know them like I do."
  468. Makh_Chomun "The Lord Captain was clear my lady, and he is still in a foul mood."
  469. Caerwyn_Beraht shoves the man's hand off him. "Ominius...Ominius...Osecro Increpa Stamine..."
  470. RosenkrantzGM Everything around you then becomes pitch black, the vibrations gone, no sounds at all. A very strange feeling of absolute emptiness fills you.
  471. Makh_Chomun "And I am sure he will come to appreciate that in time, but not now."
  472. Lucretia "Good point... Perhaps you should offer your services further down the ship?"
  473. Neue_Ziel prayers under his breath "Toll the Great Bell Once! Pull the Lever forward to engage the Piston and Pump..."
  474. Lucretia closes her eyes and tries holding onto something, anything.
  475. RosenkrantzGM Then, a bright flash, and a deafening sound...
  476. Neue_Ziel "Toll the Great Bell Twice! With push of Button fire the Engine And spark Turbine into life..."
  477. RosenkrantzGM "We're in the Warp, Lord-Captain!"
  478. Makh_Chomun Scowls. "Are priests always this obtrusive, Lucrezia?"
  479. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "It's never the same... impossible to get used to" he says, turning his head a bit.
  480. Neue_Ziel "Toll the Great Bell Thrice! Sing Praise to the God of All Machines."
  481. Caerwyn_Beraht finishes his pray as the translations completes itself. "All is well, now."
  482. Lucretia shrugs as she slowly loosens her hold on a nearby chair. "Not from my experience, no. Thought it seems he has heart, at least."
  483. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm stands, "Mr. Mort, bridge is yours. I will be in the Medicae Deck for some time - indisposed."
  484. Baine_Mort "Yes My Lord Captain."
  485. Caerwyn_Beraht "Captain, I am well versed in the medical arts. Might I tend to what troulbes you?"
  486. Baine_Mort looks at him, "Nope."
  487. Makh_Chomun "I just hope his 'heart,' doesn't foul the Captain's mood anymore and get him thrown into the void."
  488. RosenkrantzGM "Pray for me," he laughs as he exits.
  489. Makh_Chomun Makh laughs, "or it will, who knows."
  490. Lucretia "We'll see."
  491. Neue_Ziel starts reading "Passions in Battle" and every so often checks the monitor for problems.
  492. Baine_Mort moved around the bridge, checking in with each station.
  493. Caerwyn_Beraht intertwines his thumbs, forming the aquilla. "Go with the God-Emperor, Lord Captain."
  494. Caerwyn_Beraht "...cunt" He says, in sotto voce.
  495. Lucretia walks past him as she heads to her office.
  496. Makh_Chomun exits the bridge, making his way towards the armsmen barracks to check on the men and women.
  497. Neue_Ziel leaves for his techno-office to grab his cybernetic arm then heads to the Medicae Deck.
  498. Baine_Mort walks over to Sheamus, "How have you been Sheamus?"
  499. Caerwyn_Beraht , a little lost and still getting used to his new home, decides to wander to his quaraters and get settled in.
  500. RosenkrantzGM Sheamus: "Okay... couldn't find my Walderwolf anywhere..."
  501. Baine_Mort "Well you will find another one, unless it shows up and someone contacts us. Also did you ever hear from Amanda?"
  502. RosenkrantzGM Sheamus: "I am not going to answer that."
  503. Baine_Mort "That fine." Mort moves on to other stations to check in with them.
  504. Neue_Ziel acquires some tranq in the Medicae Deck.
  505.
  506.
  507. Rosenkrantz2 (In-ship):
  508. Varenus_Grandier finally leaves the navigators chamber and enters the bridge
  509. RosenkrantzGM Lord Heinrich has taken command of things on the bridge. He checks with aides to know the status of repairs, and ensures the warp route charts are ready for departure, wherever that may be.
  510. Neue_Ziel enters the elevator and opens the ornate box. He marvels at the gift.
  511. Lucretia enters the bridge and looks around.
  512. Varenus_Grandier approaches Lucretia and takes a low bow
  513. Varenus_Grandier "I am Varenus."
  514. Varenus_Grandier looks directly at her with his jet black eyes
  515. Varenus_Grandier has a fine silk scarf wrapped around the top of his head, he is dressed in fine clothing
  516. Lucretia stands awkwardly for a moment, not wanting to return to the rigidness of protocol just yet. She then offers a handshake. "Lucretia. Of the Gillam family." She's wearing a heavily personalized naval uniform. "I take it you must be this vessel's Navigator?"
  517. Varenus_Grandier shakes her and and nods "The recent events have not given me much time to introduce myself."
  518. Lucretia smiles slightly. "Not like we could have met earlier. First time on the dynasty flagship. Quite a nice vessel, if temperamental."
  519. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Lady Lucrezia!" he calls to you, dismissing a young officer.
  520. Varenus_Grandier "I assure you things were just as interesting on the vessel."
  521. Lucretia nods before turning towards Lord Heinrich and bowing. "My Lord. I've come here to inquire about some orders I received."
  522. Varenus_Grandier listens in on the conversation
  523. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Yes?"
  524. Lucretia "Apparently the Temerin men are to be executed? May I inquire why? And where that comes from?"
  525. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich sighs. "Wilhelm."
  526. Lucretia closes the distance between them and speaks in a small whisper. "Am I to follow this one? No offense but... that seems extreme and dangerous. He's had enough blood already, if I may be so bold, my Lord."
  527. Lucretia "I could pack them up on a ship and send them away instead."
  528. RosenkrantzGM "If it is any consolation, Lady Lucrezia, Master Chomun is to carry this one out. You need only inform him."
  529. Lucretia frowns but nods, a glimmer of a plan shining in her eyes. "Alright, I'll make sure Master Chomun gets the word swiftly. Thanks for clearing this up for me, Lord Heinrich."
  530. RosenkrantzGM "Have patience for him, Lucrezia... he and Erwin were as brothers."
  531. Lucretia "I lost more than a brother. Father, mother, cousins... But that's a story for another time, I believe."
  532. RosenkrantzGM "And where Wilhelm lost a beloved cousin, I lost a son. This is a time for mourning for all of us. But we mustn't forget our duties."
  533. Lucretia bows once more. "Oh, of course. Now, if I may be excused, I have duties to attend to. Good day, my Lord." And with that she turns to leave the bridge, thinking and planing.
  534. Varenus_Grandier stops her along the way
  535. Varenus_Grandier "I'm sorry to intrude, but may I join you? It's been long since I have been to land."
  536. Lucretia looks at Varenus for a moment. "You can join me in the elevatus ride, at least."
  537. Varenus_Grandier nods and follows her
  538. Lucretia then speaks once the elevatus is underway. "Good Navigator, can you keep a secret or two?"
  539. Varenus_Grandier chuckles "That is part of my profession young lady."
  540. Lucretia can't help but chuckle herself. "Wonderful. Then feel free to tag along. So, how long have you been serving our good lord Wilhelm?"
  541. Varenus_Grandier " Just recently, he has reopened negotiations between my house just after he took power, he didn't make the same mistake as the fool before him."
  542. Lucretia nods slowly. "I see... My family used to serve his line for generations. Not directly, mind. That's a recent development."
  543. Varenus_Grandier gains a more serious tone " So what exactly what is the this plan of yours? I can see you do not agree with your orders."
  544. Lucretia "Oh, I'm just having some problem with my micro-bead. And I'm still a tad drunk. Maybe I'll pass out for a day? And it just so happens that, rather regretably, most of the Temerin men wisened up and left somehow."
  545. Lucretia "Should really take it easier on the drink." She says with a somewhat playful grin.
  546. Varenus_Grandier gives her a smile " I'll warn you, I do not lie. But you shall never find a pair of lips as closely guarded as mine."
  547. Lucretia "That will do. In fact, why don't we share a few drinks?"
  548. Varenus_Grandier " That would be very pleasant, you are very enjoyable company."
  549. Lucretia laughs. "I'm flattered."
  550. RosenkrantzGM A young man approaches you two as you walk around the port, you recognize he wears the colors of House Cornivald.
  551. Lucretia looks at the young man. "What can we do for you?"
  552. RosenkrantzGM "Lady Beatrix?" he bows.
  553. Varenus_Grandier lightly pats the hidden pistol in his robes
  554. Lucretia nods politely. "That would be me, yes. Well, was."
  555. RosenkrantzGM "Lord Cornivald would like to convene a meeting between representatives of the Consortium and those of the Dynasty, my Lady."
  556. Lucretia "Well, that would be us currently. Though we are a tad busy at the moment. Is it urgent? And what would the meeting be about?"
  557. RosenkrantzGM "The future of Port Florestal, my Lady. If you can tell me whether you prefer to take place in the Rosenkrantz Estate or if Lord Cornivald is to be the host, that will suffice."
  558. RosenkrantzGM "Sometime this evening, perhaps?"
  559. Lucretia "This evening should be perfect. Though we would appreciate if he were the host of the meeting."
  560. RosenkrantzGM "Of course, my Lady." he gives a bow.
  561. Lucretia smiles and awaits for him to leave before turning to Varenus. "So, since my vox is not working, mind letting everyone know we have a meeting tonight?" She then resumes his search for Temerin records and the like.
  562. Varenus_Grandier +Hello everyone, we have a meeting later tonight with a Lord Cornavald.+
  563. RosenkrantzGM Makh_Chomun: +Are my ears going? Is that Lord Triclops I hear!?+ Makh laughs over the vox-channel. +Haven't heard from you in some time! I'll be sure to be there later once I'm done with all my current business.+
  564. RosenkrantzGM aine_Mort responds to Varenus, +Understood,+
  565. Varenus_Grandier +I do enjoy your sense of humor Chomun.+ he responds laughing
  566. Lucretia "Oh, Chomun's on the line? Tell him I have something to discuss with him when I'm actually sober."
  567. Varenus_Grandier +Mr.Chomun, Lucretia would like to speak to you when she is no longer intoxicated.+
  568. RosenkrantzGM Makh_Chomun: +Is that so? Well we'll have to catch up before you go back up to your eye-vory tower.+
  569. RosenkrantzGM Makh_Chomun: +Tell her I'm always available, even off-duty.+ He continues to laugh.
  570. Varenus_Grandier relays the message to Lucretia
  571. Lucretia "You know, what? This'll be easier if he know. Ask him if he's up for a 'drink'."
  572. Varenus_Grandier +Would you enjoy to drink alcohol with us Chomun?+
  573. RosenkrantzGM Makh_Chomun +Once I've concluded my business I shall join you.+
  574. Lucretia "Glad that's taken care of. Thank you for all this, Varenus. Now, let's see how we can make this work, shall we?"
  575. Varenus_Grandier "Yes, lets."
  576. Lucretia heads over to the Dynasty state in search for any records.
  577.
  578.
  579.
  580.
  581. POV's:
  582. Makh Chomun
  583.
  584. RosenkrantzGM
  585. RosenkrantzGM The aide who came calling for you leads you to a levatus down to the medicae block.
  586. Makh_Chomun "What's his status? Has he been more humble since he's regained conscious?"
  587. Makh_Chomun Makh smiles at that.
  588. RosenkrantzGM "Hardly, my Lord... he's been demanding to gain an audience with Lord Temerin... he wishes to be compensated for..." he clears his throat.
  589. Makh_Chomun bellows in laughter. "What a presumptuous curr." He turns to Iyetsev, "that was the correct usage of curr, right?"
  590. RosenkrantzGM Iyetsev chuckles, "Aye sir."
  591. Makh_Chomun "Ahhh fantastic!"
  592. RosenkrantzGM The levatus stops, and the double doors open with a whir and a hiss. The bright lights of the medicae block flood into the levatus and the aide walks out, leading you to the right chamber.
  593. Makh_Chomun follows behind, striking an imposing figure.
  594. RosenkrantzGM "In here, sir."
  595. Makh_Chomun walks in and has a look around before turning his attention to Lord Selvan.
  596. RosenkrantzGM A medicae assistant in the room approaches Selvan, who yet lays on the bed.
  597. RosenkrantzGM "A visitor, my Lord. Arbitrator-General Chomun."
  598. RosenkrantzGM Selvan appears confused.
  599. Makh_Chomun "Good day Lord Selvan, how are you feeling?"
  600. RosenkrantzGM "Chomun?... Arbitrator-General?!" the vitae-scans detect an altered state and begin to beep in alarm.
  601. RosenkrantzGM "What is this?!"
  602. Makh_Chomun "I am not Colonel Tsaelad, as you were lead to believe, I am Makh Chomun, the Master-At-Arms for M'lord Wilhelm Wilhelm Friedrich Johannes von Rosenkrantz." Makh pauses to catch his breath. "He always did have a wordy name." Makh chuckles. "I am currently in charge of overseeing the security of this port. As the title implies."
  603. RosenkrantzGM "Rosenkrantz? What the hell are you talking about?! Where is my staff?"
  604. Makh_Chomun "Yes, you know, the Dynasty that owns the trade lanes in these parts? The Dynasty Temerin was 'supposedly' loyal to?" Makh smiles at that. "Not that he has to worry about that anymore." He rubs his chin for a moment, "I have no idea where your staff is."
  605. RosenkrantzGM "Lord Temerin will not stand for this!" the vitae scanners are silenced by a medicae assistant who rushes in to quiet the alarms.
  606. Makh_Chomun "Lord Temerin is dead..." Makh looks at one of the walls for a moment, "and so is all of his known family." Makh pinches the bridge of his nose, and then looks back at Lord Selvan. "The Port is now back under the rightful rule of the Rosenkrantz dynasty."
  607. RosenkrantzGM "What have you done? What of my contract? What of the Consortium?"
  608. Makh_Chomun "If your contract was with the station I am sure it can be restored, as for this Consortium? They aren't in charge if that's what you're implying, and if they were they won't be for long."
  609. RosenkrantzGM "What of my ship?"
  610. Makh_Chomun "Iyetsev?" Makh turns to him, "Any word of a ship belonging to Lord Selvan?"
  611. RosenkrantzGM He checks his dataslate.
  612. RosenkrantzGM "A Clipper?" he asks, looking up to the recovering wounded.
  613. RosenkrantzGM "Yes, /my/ ship."
  614. RosenkrantzGM "Seems to be docked."
  615. Makh_Chomun "Well there you have it, Lord Selvan. She seems to be docked."
  616. RosenkrantzGM "I demand to be taken to her. At once."
  617. RosenkrantzGM Iyetsev looks up at you.
  618. Makh_Chomun "You will be taken to your ship as soon as you have been cleared by the medicae, and my own authority or that of my lord liege. Good day to you, Lord Selvan." Makh makes for the door, and motions for the medicae assistant to follow him and Iyetsev out.
  619. RosenkrantzGM "Lord Heinrich has forbidden the ship undock, Master Chomun," Iyestev says walking by your side.
  620. Makh_Chomun "Not surprising." He turns to the medicae assistant, "Lord Selvan is not to leave this ward under pain of death, until I allow it. Nor shall his staff be allowed to see him. Is this understood?"
  621. RosenkrantzGM "Yes, sir, of course."
  622. RosenkrantzGM "There is one other matter..."
  623. Makh_Chomun grins. "Oh?"
  624. RosenkrantzGM "Matters of security... Lord Castelan requests your presence at the Rosenkrantz Estate."
  625. Makh_Chomun "Ohhhhhhhh boy, well let's get going then, don'
  626. Makh_Chomun "Ohhhhhhhh boy, well let's get going then, don't wanna leave the Lord Castelan waiting." Makh gives the medicae assistant a two-finger salute before departing.
  627. Makh_Chomun +Are my ears going? Is that Lord Triclops I hear!?+ Makh laughs over the vox-channel. +Haven't heard from you in some time! I'll be sure to be there later once I'm done with all my current business.+
  628. RosenkrantzGM Varenus_Grandier: +I do enjoy your sense of humor Chomun.+ he responds laughing
  629. Makh_Chomun +Is that so? Well we'll have to catch up before you go back up to your eye-vory tower.+
  630. Makh_Chomun +Tell her I'm always available, even off-duty.+ He continues to laugh.
  631. RosenkrantzGM Varenus_Grandier: +Would you enjoy to drink alcohol with us Chomun?+
  632. RosenkrantzGM Baine Mort: +Hey Chomun, you there.+
  633. RosenkrantzGM As you approach the Estate, the House Guard gives you a salute.
  634. Makh_Chomun +Once I've concluded my business I shall join you.+
  635. Makh_Chomun +Mr. Mort let me get back to you, very urgent business, if it can be handled by Leftenant Downfield have her handle it.+
  636. Makh_Chomun Makh salutes the guards back as he passes them and into the estate.
  637. Makh_Chomun "Seems I've been getting really popular today, eh?" He says to Iyetsev.
  638. RosenkrantzGM "Arbitrator-General, afterall."
  639. Makh_Chomun "Yeah, M'lord warned me of power, said it was a bitch sometimes." He grins at that.
  640.
  641. Neue-Ziel
  642.
  643. RosenkrantzGM The levatus stops at its destination.
  644. RosenkrantzGM You realize the deck is unusually populated by the House Guard.
  645. RosenkrantzGM The large, ornate doors to the Librarium are shut.
  646. Neue_Ziel slowly approaches the doors while observing the House Guards.
  647. RosenkrantzGM They remain perfectly still.
  648. Neue_Ziel stops at the door and knocks on them. He says "Hello?"
  649. RosenkrantzGM The doors open slightly, and a young man in house colors appears.
  650. RosenkrantzGM He gives you a bow, "My Lord."
  651. Neue_Ziel "Greetings. I have a gift for the Lord-Captain from the local Adeptus Mechanicus Sec."
  652. Neue_Ziel *Sect
  653. RosenkrantzGM "The Lord-Captain is in his... new study."
  654. Neue_Ziel "What do you mean 'new study'?"
  655. RosenkrantzGM "He's made a section of the Librarium his temporary quarters. Pouring over tomes of all sorts."
  656. Neue_Ziel "Understood. Please take me to him"
  657. RosenkrantzGM "I don't know if he'll want to be interrupted, but we may approach."
  658. Neue_Ziel "Lead the way."
  659. RosenkrantzGM The Vault is very dimly lit, you travel through several corridors lined with large wall-high shelves until you reach a slightly better-lit area. Candles and chandeliers illuminate a large table where several books and tomes of all sorts are left open, even astral charts lay in display.
  660. RosenkrantzGM Lord Wilhelm stands in front of the table, leaning with both hands over its surface.
  661. Neue_Ziel walks toward Lord Wilhelm.
  662. Neue_Ziel "Hello, my lord. I'm sorry to interrupt your studies."
  663. RosenkrantzGM "What is it?" he doesn't give you any eye contact, scanning through the pages of one tome.
  664. Neue_Ziel pulls out the ornate box under his robes. Ziel says "I brought you a gift from the local tech priests. They are pleased at the opportunity to board this holy vessel and were awed at the machine spirit's fury."
  665. RosenkrantzGM "Leave it on the table" he says, closing the book, and laying out a star chart in front of him.
  666. Neue_Ziel is a bit annoyed at Lord Wilhelm's disposition. He says "My Lord. May I ask what you doing?"
  667. RosenkrantzGM He finally looks up at you. "Reading."
  668. Neue_Ziel "Reading, my Lord? Have you discovered something of interest?"
  669. RosenkrantzGM He sighs.
  670. RosenkrantzGM "Whats in the box?"
  671. Neue_Ziel delicately removes the best craftsmanship Interkeratlc Implants.
  672. Neue_Ziel *from the box.
  673. RosenkrantzGM "Well? What am I looking at?"
  674. Neue_Ziel "Interkeratic Implants are a photo-augur placed over the eye. It allows the user to adjust and filter light depending on the environment."
  675. Neue_Ziel "It is masterly crafted by a local Artisan. So it is concealed over the eye, making it difficult for the average person to detect."
  676. RosenkrantzGM He approaches you, to get a closer look.
  677. RosenkrantzGM "This... goes in my eye?" he asks, with a spark of genuine curiosity.
  678. Neue_Ziel excitingly says "Yes, My lord."
  679. RosenkrantzGM "Is it... painful?"
  680. Neue_Ziel "Not at all. It is a simple minor surgery and some bed rest afterwards."
  681. RosenkrantzGM "Interesting... how risky is the operation?"
  682. Neue_Ziel "Very low. I trust our genetors and surgeons." He taps on his skull. The metallic sound reveals Ziel's cranial armour.
  683. RosenkrantzGM "I see... alert the medicae deck. Prep for the implant procedure. I'll be there in the next hour or so."
  684. Neue_Ziel "Of course, my lord. I will leave you to your studies."
  685. Neue_Ziel exits out of the librarium.
  686. Neue_Ziel +Master of Etherics Olga. Please, patch me to the Medicae Deck+
  687. RosenkrantzGM +Yes, Master+
  688. Neue_Ziel +This is Engineer Prime, Ziel. Senior Medicae Officer report.+
  689. RosenkrantzGM +Aye... come in?+
  690. Neue_Ziel +Prepare a room for Lord Wilhelm's surgery, a cyber augmentation. I will send an assistant with the implant.+
  691. RosenkrantzGM +Lord Wilhelm? Sorry, can you confirm that?+
  692. Neue_Ziel +Do not question my authority in this matter. He will be there in an hour or two.+
  693. RosenkrantzGM +Interesting... of course. We will make all the necessary preparations.+
  694. Neue_Ziel finds a techpriest to deliver the implants to the Medicae Deck and leaves for the estate.
