"But where else are you going to-"
>"Absolutely not. They would never hear me out."
>The air of the abandoned house was stuffy, and it reaked of black mold and God knows what else.
>It was also dark, the only light coming from one of Jinx's black candles that she had taken with her in her bag.
"I'm just saying... They're good people. They let that Terra girl have two chances, even after she tried killing them."
>"But that's different. They knew her. She was in the Titans for like... A month? We kinda stopped keeping tabs for a while when we started plotting heists."
"But still. Even after she tried killing them they let her have another go. All you've done is just steal stuff. If they let her have a chance after something like that, I don't see why they won't let you have a chance either."
>She tapped her chin thoughtfully, before sighing and shutting her eyes.
>"But... I just don't think I can do it." She opened her eyes, and while they usually were full of mischief and energy, they were slightly dull now as she spoke. "I've been no good for my entire life. Everytime I've tried to do good, I ruin everything. I'm bad luck."
>You shake your head at her.
"No you're not."
>You put your hand on her shoulder.
"You don't have to be anything you don't want to. We are our choices. You can choose to make that bad luck into good luck. It's all on you."
>She sighed and rubbed her temples. "Well..."
"And hey - won't it be nice to finally sleep in somewhere that isn't-"
>You pause as a very slimy rat rushed under your feet and darted into a dark hole in the wall.
"...Full of rats?"
>She smiled, and her usual look returned, although this time something twinkling in her eyes. "Alright... I'll give it a chance. Thanks Nonny."
>You raise an eyebrow at her.
"'Nonny'?"
>She giggles at you, then before you can react, quickly leans in and pecks your cheek, and then immediately after this the candle is extinguished, casting the room into complete pitch black darkness.
>You fumble around in your backpack for a flashlight for a few minutes, and when you finally turn it on, you see that Jinx is gone, along with her pack of stuff, but the candle still remains in place, a small amount of smoke rising off the top.
>Carved into the candle is a single word.
