Personality. Hwi Ji seems lazy to most people, and that she doesn't like working. But the reason she is so lazy is because she's always tired and because she is so upset. She stays up at night trying to discover ways to make herself feel better. She is quite antisocial for the simple fact that every person she has ever made friends with, she has offended or hurt in some way. She had no filter between her mind and her mouth and it tends to drive others away. Her lack of friends/company caused her to be depressed. That depression slows her down, making her seem lazy. And when she does do something, one thing or another breaks.

Background. Hwi Ji was born to a young couple in Daegu. She was soon put up for adoption. She was adopted to a slightly above middle class family in Gwanju when she was 3. She has never been close to any of her family, because they hated her clumsiness and how unlike them she was. She lived in the shadow of a perfect older sister. Every time something was broken, she heard the oh-so-familiar line, "Its at times like this I remember you're adopted. Not to mention she has serious asthma, so growing up, physical activities were a major no. To her "family" it translated to laziness and weakness. Their words weighed down on her her entire life and they got to her badly. She finally escaped them in college, but she's was never able to escape the harsh words of others, the words that led to her minor depression. She never made friends that lasted long. She had never really talked to people growing up, so she didn't know what wasn't too much and what was crossing the line. She's always been alone. And that's how she planned to stay.
