dream log 107

first and foremost of all, i am a little girl, facing the ocean at nighttime, when a large, deerwolf-like creature pounces and takes me to her place

"little one, you mustn't go out. i can take care of you here. you are safe on land," she says soothingly as i struggle to escape the cage she's put me in. she looks dependable enough, but the girl i'm inhabiting doesn't think so, as she immediately jumps out first chance she gets, and walks into the ocean

when daytime arrives, i am in an atoll of sorts, coral reefs poking out of water, but the oddest part is that there are so many fish who seem dead, but are still wiggling around. i wade around for a little while before picking up one, which appears to be a carnivorous salmon with sharp teeth, and i toss it back.

the dream changes, and i am myself.

i'm in a narrow, pink hallway with several doors, and several entrances to rooms without doors. i don't try any of the doors, but before long, i'm running from animal people who want me dead. i keep running and coming up with ways to show them that i'm from here, and it must have been a few days, because now i had my own room, full of my things.

when i'm in my room, taking a break, i am suddenly in trader joe's for a few minutes. i'm looking at some cheeses, and notice that there's a package of long string cheddars from 100 years ago, but it's very expensive - while the package of two cheddars, one from the 70s, the other from the 90s, seems more affordable. i pick this one up, contemplating, before i'm back in my room again.

i bite into the cheddars without thinking, and worry about paying for them, when my mom walks in.

"you've been here? and you have a room of your own?"

i choose to not tell her about the cheddars, and she walks out. i relax before a very large ape man appears behind me, and i'm back to screaming, crying, pleading to be out of this place even just once. he seems to understand, and opens up a portal for me to walk into.

this leads to an outdoors, alien world, though not entirely unfamiliar. i look behind me, and the ape is gone, but the portal to my room remains. i deduce that i can access my room at any time, and that no one else will touch it.
