+born in hangzhou but raised in jeju, xiuying was raised in a unaffectionate and genius family. her mother and father both were a chemist and doctor that always tried to force her to get smarter and keep a high social status. from the very beginning she was stressed and felt like she needed to break away from her family, to do what she wanted. once she was older, around 12, she began to be rebellious and do whatever she wanted just to spite her parents. she was originally a sweet girl but she was pushed and pulled so much that she could no longer be that sweet girl. her parents would punish her often, which only made her angrier and more rebellious. she began to blow up whenever and at whoever, the overwhelming stress getting to her more than she'd like to admit. eventually, her parents decided that she was a lost cause and wanted to get rid of her more than anything, her actions and personality ruining their reputation and business. they gave her a deal; she could leave and go where she wanted as long as she got her doctoral in a major of her choice. she instantly accepted and moved out on her birthday in order to be free of her stress and do the things she wanted, whatever they turned out to be.

 xiuying is the definition of a bitch. she is full of sass and smart comments about everything, no matter what it is. her mouth always moves faster than her mind which is why her words are always blunt and a honest. she's also a big daredevil, ready to do anything anyone challenges her to, even if it's a joke. she doesn't know how to communicate her feelings at all so she just does it by being extra sarcastic or just throw a lot of punches. speaking of punches, she is a big fighter. if she doesn't understand something, she wants to fight. if she is angered, she wants to fight. this is probably her biggest flaw because of her anger issues, the smallest of things making her angry. she has the shortest fuse and it's obvious, exploding over not being able to find her phone or not being able to open a jar. despite all of this, she is quite smart. she isn't a genius like her parents but because of their upbringing(no matter how much she hated it), helped her become much more knowledgeable. when it comes to academics, none of her friends can beat her. she is well-rounded but her adhd and quick temper are what hold her down. she can't focus and when she tries, the smallest noise can piss her off because she's lost focus.
 
 despite how means she is on the outside, deep down the sweet and awkward girl she was for most of her life is there. she really wants to be able to let everyone know how much she cares for them but she just doesn't know how to put it into words becasue they always just fly out of her mouth in a mean way. she likes playing and joking around but most of the time she just gets upset at something which ruins the fun and makes everyone not want to spend time with her. this makes her almost despise herself, hating that she makes her friends uncomfortable by being a big annoyance. she tries not to be such a nuisance but she can't help it; she is no longer her old self no matter how she tries to call the girl back.

 how they meet: namjoon works at a bookstore and xiuying is visiting in order to get a book she needs for class and a horror novel to read in her spare time. when he asks her if she needs anything, she shuts him down almost instantly because she is certain she knows where everything is. after about 30 minutes, she gives up and asks him for help to find the book she needs for class. while directing her, he gets distracted by how confident she is and the way that her face always looks like she's ready for anything to come her way. he found that very attractive and it made her seem 10x prettier than she already was. because of how distracted he was, he ended up leading her to the wrong section. she mumbled a bit of a thank you before grabbing the nearest book which happened to be 50 Shades of Grey. she instantly thought that he was hinting at something so she began to accuse him of being a pervert cursing at him at the top of her lungs(not really but she was quite loud). namjoon didn't register what had happened until she shoved the book at him and stomped away, leaving the bookstore altogether. once he realized what he'd accidently done, he tried to run after her to apologize but he was immediately yelled at by his boss and had to sit with his embarrassment all day.
 
 her first impressions; when she first got a look at him, she instantly thought he was some kind of dork who was a little(a lot) attractive. once he fucked up, she thought he was some kind of twisted pervert who lead girls to the back of bookstore and went 50 shades of grey on them.  all in all, she find him very annoyingly pretty and annoying in general. she kind of finds a bit of amusement in him but it's overshadowed by how angry he makes her.
 
 his first impressions; drooled a bit over her almost immediately, finding her and her aura of confidence almost intoxicating. he was a bit caught off guard by how angry she was but he also found that attractive becasue when she was angry he noticed how her ears turned red and her eyes widened. he was a little afraid of her(he wasn't gonna lie), but he as overall just fascinated by her and the bits of her personality he got to see.
 
 HOW SHE ACTS AROUND HIM ┊
 in the beginning she would be very angry around him and accuse him of being a pervert all the time because of their meeting. she, much like how she is with anyone when they first meet, she is overly sassy and rude to him. given the person she is, she would end up judging his every move and look but would never hold her tongue about and just call him out. more towards the middle, she would let him off the hook but only a little. she knows that he has good intentions but she also can't really help how blunt and mean she is. she always him to joke around with her more and she sometimes responds with a joke of her own, laughing at it and claiming she 'roasted him'. she starts to get a warm feeling in her chest whenever he's around which makes her angry becasue she doesn't understand it but likes the way it feels. towards the end, she figures out that she likes him and wants to be with him but she isn't sure how to go about it. she becomes really awkward and defensive all the time which she hates more than anything but she tries her hardest to get her feelings across in her own way that he could possibly understand.
 
 HOW HE ACTS AROUND HER ┊
 in the beginning he was extremely awkward and embarrassed around her, trying to find ways to apologize for what he did. he would be far too blushy around her and whenever he tries to start a conversation, he'd end up stumbling over his words so and that he'd want to kill himself. as time progresses, his embarrassment would fade a bit and he'd get more comfortable with talking to her, joking around more and helping her out with her work for school given how smart he is. he'd always found her pretty and unique but as they spend more time together it becomes much more prominent. he begins to notice how her face scrunches up when she laughs and all the other little things that make him like her more. in the end, he notices how awkward and defensive she is about everything which confuses him. he'd thought they were cool but her actions say otherwise. once he figures out that she'd trying to flirt and show how she feels, he lets her know his feelings and tease her to almost no end becasue the tables turned and she's the awkward one.
