+Growing up on the mean streets of Helsinki, Miika Makinen never had any aspirations. Learning to pick pockets and break into houses to keep food in his belly, all he ever really cared to do was petty crime. The cycle of poverty, big score, luxury, poverty had everything he really needed, and for just over thirty years it was enough, and a few short stints in prison (where he picked up the noble art of knife fighting) did nothing to change that. Unfortunately for him, a few notable incidents of betrayals by freelancers spooked the organized crime outfits, to the point that he could no longer keep this lifestyle up. After dodging a few hit squads that believed him to be involved in the betrayals, he resignedly blew the last of his cash on a flight to Seattle, to make a new life. Of course, since planes don't typically let you check a bunch of suspicious-as-fuck breaking and entering gear without permits, Miika was forced to pawn his gear in Helsinki, then take out a loan from the Yakuza to buy it all back again.
 
 Repaying this loan will be both helped and hindered by old instincts from his early days as a thief. When one or two fenced items is the only buffer you have against starving or freezing, you tend to pad your total theft with as much extra stuff as you can carry, whether or not stealing is actually the job or not. While the extra money is often nice, it's gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.
-Renata Ostrovsky was born to be a gangster. Raised by her father, the gangster Anton Ostrovsky, she learned from an early age of the ancient, long-forgotten code of the Vory, and to follow it in life and death, freedom and prison. Growing up in Novosibirsk, she learned the thieves trade and was groomed to one day take over a gang of her own. This was derailed somewhat by a stint in prison from an early heist gone bad, where she spent eight years of her life, from 20 to 28. Getting out of prison, she spent a good amount of time in a vodka bottle before stepping forward once again to seize her destiny, this time in Singapore. She's contacted an old friend of her father's, Yuri Ovchinnikov, to get some things moving on her own, taking control and refurbishing an abandoned warehouse in a shitty part of town.  Appearance:
-Renata has a very gregarious and friendly personality, often winning people over with her eagerness and charm on the first impression. However, she has noted eccentricities, including a poor ability to assess risks. She is a tall, lithe elf with black hair and blue eyes, preferring to dress in armored business clothing in most situations. She is a strict follower of the old code of the Vor z Zakone.
