 [17:45] Jesse leveled his blade with Ethan. Where his conviction had faltered, Jesse's remained strong. The only way forward was to fight, in his eyes, to give the vampires what they wanted if he was to survive. Blood was to be spilled. That was just the law of the land out here.
 
 "Funny that you say that, brother." He narrows his eyes.
 
 "You're already dead, after all."
 
 With that, he rushed forward with everything he had. There was no sense in holding back. Not anymore.

 [17:49] An impressive burst of mana exploded outwards from Ethan's form as his brother rushed forward. The potion on his person having been consumed by his magic circuits rather than by his mouth, somehow. The blue-haired one stood before his brother, releasing forth wave after wave of flames - engulfing the plains with a bright darkness that burned down one's soul.
 
 This was it.
 The moment Ethan feared most.

 "HRRAAAH!" He dances through flames, his blade of starlight cleaving the cosmos in twain as he slices towards his brother. Every movement is twinkling - divine - the bristling edges of his lightning effortlessly flowing from his body and singing their target with precision and power. His magic and swordsmanship combined together are enough to topple his brother time and time again.
 
 Darkness.
 
 A surge of mana came in response. A frenzied reaction to his sight being stripped, his power increased. Even if he was blind, he would fight.
 
 His hands are put together out in front of him, his mana gathering in a single point as ground beneath his feet gave way. Whatever approach Ethan might've had during his moment of blindness, Jesse didn't give a damn. From his palms ignites a beam of energy that cuts through the air with a phantasmal speed.
 
 Pure cosmic radiance catches his brother - and sends him flying away.
 
 The battle goes dead silent for a moment, Jesse's movements slowing to a walk as he caught his breath. Ethan would be up any moment now...

 It was difficult to keep his head coll with the influences that plagued it. Corruption. Anger. Addiction. Despair. He was losing it before a whole crowd, fighting a fight he didn't want to, against someone he never wanted to hurt. This was a living hell - one he didn't want to be a part of. A living hell he wanted to escape.
 
 More dark flames spilled outwards in a desperate manner, as if the boy was trying to get everything to stop. To get this madness to cease. He was lost.

Every step he'd take would end with one more burn, one more wound. There was no helping it; this was the way it had to be. The way he had made it to be. The world was getting darker and the older of the Hawke would find the stars in the skies being blotted out by the very flames of Hell.
 
 "WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME DO THIS?!"
 
 It was a cry for help, one that made not his assault relent. Before the redhead could even drag himself back up to his feet he'd feel it again, that burning sensation. The feeling that the world was no longer his.
 
 The skies were the limit, nothing laid beyond that.

 [18:06] The boy would look on as the two fought, this was getting good. The passion and pain of the two forced against each other, he didn't know nearly half of the story but he was still entertained.
 
 Though he would clench his fist as he looked on and was confronted by his overwhelming weakness. The two on the battlefield were stronger than him, and that fact cause his eyes to burn a bright hue.

 "I'LL KICK YOUR ASS, SAVE YOU AND BRING DOWN THAT TOWER ALL ON MY OWN, DAMN IT!" He had kind of gone and lost it. Such was the way of the mind when presented with a scenario as terrifying as this. "You started chasing girls..."
 
 The fire engulfed him. Tried to drown out his voice.
 
 "Started hanging out with these monsters..." He stood, a pyre of flames. But within that burning heat, he was starting to find his stride as well. The cosmos around him knit itself tightly to his form, the star that had watched over him weeping out more and more as Jesse found himself on the precipice of defeat.
 
 With a final, triumphant burst, the flames release - Jesse's mana having finally repelled the attack.
 
 He stands, a tattered, burned figure, holding his blade with a white knuckled grip.
 
 "You should be thanking me." He wanted his brother back. Regardless of what he'd have to do to get his way.

 [18:34] Ethan's flames were roaring, getting greater, stronger and bigger with each blow. The fires that burned at the very depths of Hell were crashing against energies that went beyond the limits of this land, beyond this plane of humanity they knew of.
 
 The stars couldn't be reached, yet it wouldn't stop Jesse from attempting to do so. The redhead had obtained what he wanted; he got his brother to fight back, to prove himself, to show that he was going to be fine - that the world around them was dangerous, but that the smile he wore and the bonds he made still... Mattered.
