+°background: raeyeon was born and raised in daegu, south korea. growing up as a child, she wanted to be a dancer. she did ballet for a very long time but had to quit after an ankle injury. however because she was only a kid, it didn't really bother her that much and her attention quickly shifted to something else. after watching a girl group on tv perform, she decided she wanted to be an idol too. she auditioned for fm entertainment and officially became a trainee at the age of 17. after she became a trainee, she rediscovered her love for dancing and once again began to pursue her dream of being a dancer.

 	even though she is quite childish, raeyeon is still the oldest. despite her usual persona, she does have a certain maturity in her. she doesn't get mad when a younger member snaps at her and is actually very patient with them. she is very calm just in general. when things get serious, she is one of the first ones to gather her thoughts and pull herself together. she offers surprisingly good advice and often the source of comfort for the other members, although she never mentions it. raeyeon also has a tendency to lie. because she is the oldest, she feels like she should take care of the other members, the leader included. she ignores her health for them and then lies about it. if she feels sick or just in a bad mood in general, you'd have to cut off a limb for her to admit it. and she does this all with her eerie smile on her face while cracking some stupid joke, which is one of the many traits of hers that annoy the other members.
