Abilities: Azumi is not an Interference who has any magical powers, relying on her extensive training, equipment, and supplies for her strengths.
16
17
- She has a high level of skill with hand-to-hand combat and knife work, and is a pretty good shot with a firearm (though she needs practice, time, or stationary targets to shoot heads), all due to her training. She has learned this through her training as an ODST, better than many, and through intense, extensive training with Batman of the DC Animated Universe.
18
19
- If given medical equipment, she is able to fix many wounds if nonfatal, though only according to the properties of the materials themselves, and not through any special abilities of her own. She learned this in the field on her missions as an ODST.
20
21
- Azumi is a traceuse, which is to say she is capable of using parkour in order to get around. She is faster at this in her less armored forms, but is perfectly capable of using it in her armor as well. She learned this from weeks of training in the world of Mirror's Edge with Runners, and her own training when she has time to make it better.
22
23
- Otherwise, she is a completely normal human being, albeit trained in the special forces of an army, her other capabilities limited to her armor (see Appearance), and able to be short-circuited or otherwise damaged.
24
25
26
Powers: None to speak of. Azumi is a completely normal human being, all of her skills gained through either weapon attachments or equipment if not her own personal physical training.
27
28
29
Personality: Azumi is rather headstrong and quick to anger, prone to taking out a weapon if she feels threatened. Nonetheless, she is also able to calmly plan attacks, having experience with commanding from her time with Fireteam Kilo and the moments directly after when she was escaping with her new promotion. Also due to her military training, she can be very formal around superiors (though not necessarily following their orders), often giving a salute as greeting. However, her anger is generally a facade, as she is very emotionally unstable. While she does not cry out from physical pain often due to her training and determination, she can be upset if one talks about her past, and can be very kind and sympathetic to those she feels hide their pain, a trait she also uses through her rage. Only when around her closest friends does she ever let her true self out, though she generally does her best to hide any emotional distress, especially from her enemies.
30
31
Due to her training, it is very difficult to make her do things through physical harm, though she can be psychologically broken down if someone knows the right buttons. In particular, she feels highly responsible for her teams, feeling that as leader, she should take the brunt of anything they get into, and not hide behind them. That said, when she is angry about someone, even a member of her team, she is not above causing physical harm in order to make sure they stay in line and don't get in her way.

- This picture, with a small metal ball implanted in the back of her head at the base of her skull. Her hair color is naturally black, with some of that color coming back in over her orange hair lately, but not enough to be noticed in most extents. Her eyes are a light brown, her skin fair, and she seems to be of Asian descent. She stands at about five-foot-eight-inches, with a muscular build.
39
- Her armor as shown is the standard Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Battle Dress Uniform (ODST BDU for short), seen in engine here (albeit with blue where the red is) and a variant in live action here. The chest has an insignia of a UNSC Marine Sergeant in relief upon it. This is her standard outfit, and where she has most of her weapons. She keeps her pistol slung at her right hip, her knife in a sheath attached to her chest plate, the Brute Machete across her hips on her back, and her rifle or other larger gun on her back above it on an angle.
40
- When in casual attire, she wears a navy blue T-shirt, brown pants, and a green jacket, with hunter green combat boots matching the jacket and her gun in a holster at her waist, with her knife in a sheath at her other hip.
41
- In fantasy-based worlds, she wears a black, kevlar body-suit. There is a brown belt on with several pouches for various items, and a sheath for her normal knife. A black hood is over her head, dipped into a "beak"-like formation that goes near to her eyes, shrouding her face.
42
- In her outfit as the "Dawn Priestess" of Rikka, she still has to wear the clothing Lightsworn maid, but has multiple modifications to the attire. she wears a white corset with a jacket over it that has only one button, approximately at her abdominal muscles, and with coattails that reach a quarter of the way down her thighs. Covering the corset, she has on a sleeveless top that consists of many wrapped-around pieces of fabric, in both white and silver. Two of those strips reach down her back, tying on the jacket further by wrapping around her waist and criss-crossing her back, the entire thing having a "White Veil" enchantment on it courtesy of Rikka to act as a protective measure. The coloration of the jacket is a navy blue at the ends of the sleeves, but fades into silver, and finally to gold for the torso-covering area, and the shoulders are somewhat stylized, "crumpled" like an old-fashioned dress. The jacket is marked on the back by two kanji symbols: "Miyabi" (Elegance) in silver, and "Hijiri" (Holy) in white. The entire top is tight to her body, compressing her to both make her look less imposing and allow for cleaner movements, while also accentuating her form for visitors. There is also a golden bow in her hair, though this is typically only worn while on the White Night, and is not always on. For pants, she has a white mini skirt that fades into silver at the edges, with gold on the outermost edge and on the inverse, as well as a knee-length skirt underneath for somewhat more decency, as well as being cut to resist flaring in case of a need to jump. She has on nylons under the skirt, with navy at the bottom and fading up into silver and finally a silvery white as they reach her waist, and white thigh-high boots. On the outer sides of the nylons, the Japanese "Raitorōdo" (Lightlord, or Lightsworn) is marked in gold on the outer sides, and "Joō Shin'eitai" in navy on the inner sides. As far as weaponry goes, she carries a Lightsworn Sabre rapier, which she wears on her right hip, and cannot harm Lightsworn creatures (i.e., anything Rikka has, or her herself), though it can cause a limited amount of harm to Dani. For a long range measure, she has access to a modification on her own grenades to act as an ancient Chinese gunpowder bomb, complete with a smoke effect as well as the damage. However, these weapons cannot deal damage to Dani, instead having shrapnel pass directly through her, though it can deal limited damage to Rikka. In this outfit, Azumi wears her hair down, reaching to her shoulders and a bit down her back.
43
- Wraith Armor: A custom-built armor set incorporating various armaments. She has a mentally collapsible helmet that covers her entire head in black metal, with six parallel horizontal, red, dimly lighted slits going down the front in such a way that it is is nearly impossible to tell where the user is looking if using them as eyepieces, or how many eyes the user has, and a thick, midnight blue bar going vertically down all of their midpoints, splitting the slits into twelve in two columns. The actual use of the helmet instead is through a high-tech one-way visor interface. There are also sheathes and holsters on her back, chest, and leg. It is a black bodysuit with a thin, very dark, navy blue, "ribbed" armor over it that has a full plate on the torso with multiple overlapping plates to give an impression of abdominal muscles from the armor alone. The armor's structure is such that it is impossible to tell gender from the makeup of it alone, but still gives free movement and better speed at the expense of less protection from the armor itself. There is a navy hood over the Recon Hood. Furthermore, the stun H.F. blade is on her back, a gun on her waist as well, and she uses an omni-tool Shock-blade on the armor itself, with hacking and data analysis functions only aside from that.

45
46
Weapons: In the case of all of Azumi's weapons, she has a habit of adding attachments when she finds issues with them, though this has not come up just yet.
47
- M6C/SOCOM Automag: A UNSC issue M6S sound and flash suppressed magnum pistol, Azumi was given this sidearm as her standard operating weapon for her occupation as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. This weapon has high-penetration, semi-armor piercing ammunition, though this is usually not a real point to make. Said has a scope that zooms in to four times normal vision, linking up with her helmet's helmet-mounted display via a "smart link" technology when in use, though it is not usable by other means outside of that technology. It also has a flashlight and a red laser sight underneath the barrel, for different aim assist or lighting depending on the situation in terms of stealth. Contrary to popular belief, the laser sight does not paint a red line in the air, only placing the light on the target, except in cases of high atmospheric disturbance.
48
-- On the same sight, if chosen, she can also equip a laser-functioning microphone that reads vibrations off of walls to hear and record conversations in other rooms if she is unable to get a read on the conversations otherwise. However, this can leave her exposed, as it requires her to remain motionless. This was developed after some research in the world of Tom Clancy and applied to her gun.
49
- M7S Caseless Submachine Gun: A sound suppressed submachine gun used for mid range combat and increased rate of fire, this weapon was also given along with the Automag pistol for Azumi's initial job as a shock trooper. Like the Automag, this gun has a flashlight and laser sight under the barrel, both for additional aim assist. It also has a "smart link" scope that links up directly to her helmet-mounted display when she wears a helmet for two times the magnification of normal vision, though, unlike the Automag, it also has a "reflex" scope on top, enabling scoped vision even without a helmet. As with the Automag, the laser sight is only painted directly to the target, and does not leave a red line in the air between the shooter and target.
50
- Seeker Rifle: A high-powered, armor-piercing sniper rifle that Azumi found on the USG Ishimura aboard the EarthGov "Sprawl" station. This gun has a low rate of fire and a high degree of sound output as of yet, but makes up for it with sheer firepower, and is a useful weapon for even close range breach tactics. As for aim, it has a scope on top for double the accuracy as normal, along with a pinprick of green light as a laser sight on the target of choice.
51
- UNSC Close Quarters Combat Weapon System: A standard UNSC issue combat knife that Azumi uses with her close quarters combat skills. This weapon is not very strong, and best paired with her skill up close, rather than alone, or used as a tool. She obtained this, like her M7S and M6S, from her original occupation as an orbital drop shock trooper.
52
- Jiralhanae Combat Knife: A serrated machete that Azumi took from the corpse of a Jiralhanae War Chieftain upon killing him in close combat in New Mombasa. Azumi is not very skilled with this weapon, however, still needing more training in its use. It is also only taken on such missions where it is likely that she will run into close combat situations where the other person is more highly equipped than her.
53
- "Deadshot Gun": A double-barrel, arm-mounted, silent, armor-piercing gun that Azumi took off of the unconscious body of Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton after defeating him in Arkham City during her night there, one of his two signature guns. This is fired from being held on the back of the forearm, and so can be concealed under her armor or clothes otherwise. This weapon can also be equipped with a variety of ammunition, from typical armor-piercing rounds to "darts" or nitrate-infused bullets for knocking people unconscious to tracker bullets meant for stealth operations to tail someone.
54
- Stun Wakizashi: A thirty-five inch wakizashi built by Greg Zivaku as requested by K1-R4 without telling him for whom it would be. Its blade resonates at high frequencies, raising its temperature, thereby increasing its cutting ability to the point where it seems to be able to cut through anything but energy weapons and perhaps magic. The sharpened edge and point are used for lethal attacks, and the blunt edge used as a clubbing weapon. There is a powerful, but nonlethal (to organics) charge of electricity activate-able from the hilt that she can easily activate, but takes time to recharge. It also emits a lower level electric charge constantly when in the "blunt" formation, as a kind of stun club, though the charged attack is more powerful and useful, the electrified edge being more for added force. This weapon is only used with her "Wraith" jobs, and so is not normally seen on her person. This is primarily used with her "Wraith" identity, and cannot be traced back to her by most people.
55
- "Shock Blade": The only melee application of her omni-tool, this is a form of the "omni-blade" akin to that of an Infiltrator. The "shock blade" takes the form of an electric prod on her left hand, and, when stabbed into a victim, causes an intense electric shock, disabling most synthetic enemies, and incapacitating many organic ones. The shock-blade is a searing hot, disposable silicon-carbide weapon flash-forged by the tool's mini-fabricator. The transparent, nearly diamond-hard blade is created and suspended in a dark energy field safely away from the user's skin, and charged with electricity by ionizing the area between the prongs. Like the stun high-frequency blade, this weapon, along with the omni-tool itself, is only seen with her "Wraith" jobs, as the omni-tool itself is attached to her "Wraith" armor directly, rather than by surgery.
56
- "Omni-Bow": A longer range function of the omni-tool, also given to her by Liara T'Soni in the same omni-tool. This one-arm crossbow can fire a single tracking arrow or a burst of three over a wider area, and is primarily used to launch her shock takedowns over a far longer area, including a more powerful form of her wrist launchers in her Wraith armor. The arrows of this come in concussive "knockback" variety, "shock" variety for paralysis, or armor-piercing for when necessary. However, this is almost only used in long range, since it is very visible and takes a longer time to launch.
57
58
Equipment:
59
- Neural Interface: A small metal ball that was surgically implanted in the back of her head, this provides an Identify: Friend/Foe tag for her allies, as well as providing her with a method to communicate via radio and to activate her VISR system (below). She has had this since enlisting in the armed forces, as it is standard issue. However, due to the magic used on her by Merlin (and the reason he stopped short of more additions to her armor), it has been enhanced to be capable of holding a full "Smart" artificial intelligence.
60
- Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance (VISR): Due to the implanted neural interface in the back of her head as a standard of all members of the United Nations Space Command, she can access computer files that she has downloaded to her VISR, including maps, limited audio and video feeds (transferred to her ship between stays on the worlds), and tactical data, though an artificial intelligence may be required to use this information. The system can also download information from nearly any source on or orbiting a planet if not shielded, though the "Air Assault" helmet can hack into more for information on the go. Also, she is incapable of fighting while using the deeper menus of this system, aside from a green-tinted nightvision mode that outlines her allies as in a green highlight, her enemies as red, though it takes a long time to show a change in alliance. Due to integration of the medical scanner, it can also show the medical situation of allies if targeted for several seconds for a scan. This system can also see the outlines of invisible enemies, but only if they are given their invisibility by technological means. Objectives have a yellow outline and a marker for distance, while weapons not equipped by anyone are outlined in blue. Due to the nature of this nightvision, daylight conditions or any other bright light combined with its use can cause temporary blinding. While in the system, she can view various systems, but without said systems in the VISR being seen by people other than her or an artificial intelligence in her interface.
61
-- NAV (Navigation): A map of the area in which she is currently located. Unfortunately, this requires a full download of a map to be useful. However, once it is, the user can see the entire map, mark off waypoint markers to go find personally, and, if possible, track enemy and allied movements (only whether friend or foe and vehicle or not, not who or what they actually are) in the sector ("map area" in the case of Kingdom Hearts) where she is currently located.
62
-- INTEL (Intelligence): A comprehensive multi-listing of current mission objectives, kept up by the user or an AI in the neural interface. This can also be used to place a waypoint marker on select mission objectives on the NAV map, in addition to a brief description of what each piece of the objectives entail at each location.
63
-- COMM (Communications): The radio function, usually not viewed directly, but instead accessed without going into the VISR menus.
64
-- Also, she has two alternative vision modes, and has the capability to add more (though only able to bring one per mission). Those two current modes are:
65
--- Thermal Vision: See heartbeats and discern unconsciousness if possible, with easier analysis the closer she is.
66
--- Sonar: Provide additional aid for sight in lieu of actual heat to gauge, or able to be used with other modes in order to see through walls to a limited degree. This mode is due to be replaced once she comes to Requiem in her universe.
67
- ODST Battle Armor: The helmet can be polarized or depolarized using the neural interface, the polarized form having the necessary Helmet Mounted Display for combat, the depolarized allowing the face to be visible. The back has a rucksack attached with a supply extending into Hammerspace, her only somewhat magical component due to a need to carry as much as possible. The front pouch, over her chest and disguised as just an armored plate, is another compartment to keep her things in, but this one is not magically enhanced. The entire uniform, if all on without any tears, has a fifteen-minute air supply for vacuum situations, and can be internally heated or cooled for comfort, or, if given ample time, to match outside heat temperatures for stealth operations. It also has the ability to record select amounts of audio footage, though it requires unloading of said footage after missions to keep up space for it. She occasionally adds attachments to her armor, depending on the situation, but cannot change them after landing on the world. Three are available, all gained after her tine on in the Haloverse during and the month following the 2552 Battle of New Mombasa. The base helmet design has been replaced with the upgrade to it, the Air Assault helmet taken from the corpse of Noble Two of Noble Team, most often known as "Kat", on the planet of Reach. This helmet features specialized optics, and can provide real-time satellite imagery and enemy signature allocation.
68
-- Close Quarters Combat Variant, a.k.a. ODST/UA Personal Protective Equipment: Her primary armor is a version of this with blue rather than red on it. This armor gives added protection against plasma and bullets, but is built for closer combat rather than longer range sniping. The left pauldron is replaced with a longer two-piece ballistic plate down to the elbow, which protects the user in a firing stance. The armor is also equipped with an optics device for recording video and images to transmit to teammates or superior officers, the up-armored hardened uplink module (UA/HUL).
69
-- Sharpshooter Variant: Designed for snipers, this variant is used only for long range assassination or otherwise sniping missions in the field, and is made to give a sharpshooter both protection on the firing arm and freedom of movement. The standard pauldron on the shooter's firing, dominant arm is removed, while the one on the supporting arm is covered in a larger plate that covers the top of the shoulder horizontally, and the arm down to the elbow vertically, allowing for more protection on that side. There is an optics device on the right side of the helmet to allow for link up with the rifle via smart-linking if possible.
70
-- Recon Variant, a.k.a. ONI/S-1 Recon BDU: Reconstructed from the armor usually given to Naval Intelligence officers of the ODSTs, this variant has less armor than some of the others, but allows for more speed. The chest plate offers better stealth capabilities, reducing the infrared signature and reflective surfaces with little to no drop in endurance. This variant also has no shoulder pads, allowing for freedom of arm movement at the expense of some protection, and some kind of green, translucent orb in the center of the chest piece. This armor is used for stealth-based operations that require speed and mobility over defense.
71
-- She occasionally adds attachments to it, depending on the situation, but cannot change them after landing on the world. Three are available, all gained after her tine on in the Haloverse during and the month following the 2552 Battle of New Mombasa.
72
-- Up-Armored Hardened Uplink Module: A recording device outside of the helmet on its side, this is the most-often used attachment.
73
-- External Command Network Module: A connection to the UNSC "battle-net" of information or similar data, this is only used on select missions with militaries.
74
-- CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiation, and Nuclear) Hardened Uplink Module: A breath filter and otherwise protection against hazardous environments, this is only used in situations with a toxic atmosphere or similar situation.
75
- Jackal shield gauntlet: A plasma-based shield that can be activated to keep on one arm, this provides indefinite protection from bullet gunfire (though it can be pushed away) and limited protection from magic, being taken down by light or fire based attacks most quickly, but strengthened by some of the inverse magics. She obtained this from a Kig-yar corpse in New Mombasa, and upgraded the armor and shape of it to a larger, but still relatively small hardlight shield with K1-R4's information.
76
- "Tech-Hacker": An invention of Cid Highwind given by Batman of the DC Animated Universe, this device allows her to hack into most communication panels and into radio frequencies crossworld or between worlds if Azumi get the right "datacards". The efficiency and reach of it can be improved upon, however. The device also allows for her to disable a select amount of firearms or mechanically operated traps if targeted.
77
- Smoke Bombs: Small, gray smoke pellets she can throw down as a quick-acting smoke grenade, facilitating a quick escape. Also can be thrown at people as a distracting method, or in other directions for misdirection. Got this from Batman himself of the DC Animated Universe. She has also modified them herself to have a burst at times in order to avoid infrared sensors when she finds the need for it.
78
- UNSC Medical Scanner: Used by UNSC personnel to treat wounds, repairing tissue and bone damage. It also contains a medical encyclopedia, for field medical procedures and remedies. In order to make analyses easier, its functions were incorporated into an upgraded HUD function of her VISR, though this takes longer than using the actual handheld analyzer, or gives less information in a shorter time, and is more often used for her Wraith activities. It was obtained by Azumi along with her new armors after the Battle of New Mombasa.
79
- TACPAD: A left forearm mounted computer of sorts on her ODST armor, this was gained from the UNSC with her new armor following the Battle of New Mombasa. It allows her to analyze and display combat information, though she is learning to use it to hack into things as well by incorporating the "tech-hacker"'s functions into it. However, as this is a work in progress, the analysis of tactical data and transmission of information is the primary use of this device.
80
- Jet Acceleration System/Fulcrum Mitigating (Custom model): Built from schematics constructed from two different devices (one of which may have been far ahead of its time) with help from K1-R4, this is a combination of the UNSC portable jump-jet and the later UNSC ground-based thruster pack, this piece of equipment is used in evasion and limited aerial combat. A gray, man-portable jet engine attached to the user's back, with secondary thrusters on the sides of the pack with a yellow coloration. The exhaust of the jet is moved between its functions depending on the purpose, from away from the back and pointing slightly down to allow for a ducked position, to being pointed downward, to some variations between the two as necessary to move during a jet operation, on a ball and socket joint so as to allow, as well, for the forward acceleration to be in more or less any direction other than directly backwards, which requires a physical roll. The device has two modes. If the device is activated by way of a neural interface for a short burst, it will fire in a forward motion at an extremely high speed, allowing the user to move quickly and aggressively in combat, whether closing the gap between the user and an enemy, or finding cover. If the activation switch is held down instead, it fires in a continuous, lower-energy burst that, while not sending the user flying into the air at an uncontrollable speed, does enable a reasonably swift liftoff and some sustained airtime. This device is also capable of, in the second mode, slowing down a rapid descent if there is enough fuel before a recharge left in the suit, using the countering acceleration against gravity to slow, stop, or reverse descent. A downside to this device is that the use is very loud, as well as very bright in the case of the first mode. However, in the midst of large-scale combat, this noise may be overlooked. The device also comes with jump-jet restraints that she tends to put on as well on her armor, and still allows for her to access her rucksack if necessary.
81
- Wraith Armor (described in Appearance): This armor was fabricated from various sources, as detailed in the scrapbook entry "Pale Rider". It is easily put on or taken off to exchange for her armor, for which she has her etherspace pouch. A hologram projector on her chest that can show an insignia, but is armored. She uses more tech and speed in this form at the expense of armor and some physical strength. That said, the armor is composed of carbon nanotubes, and so is still strong, just more agile. It also comes equipped with a Geth Scanner technology given by Liara T'Soni to allow her to track enemy movements within up to twenty meters of her position.
82
-- Vocal synthesizer: Azumi is capable of speaking in a male or female voice depending on her preference in this form, though it does not work when the helmet is off.
83
-- Dart Launchers: Present in the forearms, these darts can be used for a distraction or to knock down or out unaware foes.
84
-- Right-hand omni-tool[/ucl]: This holographic interface is a substitute for her TACPAD, which she bought on the station of Omega in the Mass Effect universe circa Mass Effect 2. She only has this usable on her Wraith armor, since it is directly incorporated to the suit, rather than surgically implanted to her arm. Aside from being useful for some hacking, communication, and audio recording, it also has the incorporated Shock-blade and Omni-Bow (see Weapons), along with incorporated VI to act as aim assist when necessary.

History: Azumi Emily Ian was born in the year of 2510 on the Outer Colony of Jericho VII in the Lambda Serpentis System to Asian-ancestry parents. On this world, she mainly learned English, appreciating the four silver moons in her sky. She bleached her black hair at one point, turning it to an orange color.
93
94
She knew of rebellious factions on her homeworld, ones that aimed to fight against what they deemed to be the oppression of the Earth-based United Nations Space Command (UNSC), but simply showed anger at these groups, having faith in the safety of her world without the insurgency brewing. However, though safe, she found herself generally friendless, her few close companions turning on her in favor of bullies time and again due to her unflinching faith in the status quo. The young girl was forced to teach herself martial arts in order to defend herself against the occasional bully, generally triumphing with naught but a few scratches or a bruise.
95
96
At the age of fifteen, she was witness to strange, fast, powerful human soldiers in odd green combat armor (SPARTAN IIs in Mark IV MJOLNIR armor) came to the world in order to silence the rebel factions. The operation was quick and bloody, simultaneously scarring her and interesting her in aiding humanity militarily. Her attitude only increased when news came of a war with an alien empire known as the "Covenant," having begun the same year. One year later, she ran away, hitching a ride aboard a colonial ship that came back to a world with a training facility. Luckily, she just barely made it within the age limit to enlist, entering her training. At that facility, she cut her hair short, learning the art of short-blade combat with a knife and gunplay. She also refined her unarmed combat, though she was never afraid to fight dirty in her training.

Within a few years' time, she had reached the rank of Lance Corporal, the third Enlisted rank from the lowest. She volunteered to undergo a psychological and physical examination as well as even harder training than she had ever done. She passed the physical examination, and managed to get by the psychological one as well by a slimmer margin. Though she neglected to choose a specialty, she trained herself in medical work, though not to the level of the medicine that the official medic "Hospital Corpsmen" had, instead merely to mending bones, sealing some wounds, and quick emergency work in case the Corpsman on her team died, as occasionally occurred.
99
100
In 2530, she was hand-picked for a four-person fireteam known as "Fireteam Kilo" to be transferred to the already years-long campaign on the human colony of Harvest. There was an engineer from Mars named Private James Anchors, a Harvest-born corpsman named Private Tyler Vesely, and the mysterious Gregory "Zulu" Zivaku, the corporal who had picked them all under his low command position.
101
102
Together, they went through orders from the highest command on the operation, Captain James Gregory Cutter, their personal artificial intelligence K1-R4 from Zulu having a very bad relationship with the AI on board the Spirit of Fire freighter along the way, though giving a plethora of tactical information as they obeyed their COs or disobeyed, "acquiring" bases secured by the remaining Insurgency on Harvest or clearing landing sites for air support to be given to later, lower-trained teams.
103
104
Over time, she came to have different relationships with each member of her team. James was nice to her, being between neutral and on good terms in her books. Tyler was the opposite, a major annoyance with his crude comments and unnecessary sarcasm.
105
106
She spoke with her direct CO a lot as second-in-command to first of the team, treading lightly through his cold, distant, often angry demeanor to find details of his history, anything to make him more relatable, more human. Over time, her sympathy for his plight developed into a deep attraction, though she would not say so, often ending their conversations about such topics as his family or other parts of his past with arguments that had her leaving the room in a huff. During these conversations, she also saw him show a depressed side to himself, mainly in regard to his ex-girlfriend, one Kynthia Usagi that he had known from a training facility on the Earth's moon of Luna. To Azumi's dismay, he had never let his feelings for the ex go, still carrying a picture of her with him wherever he went.
107
108
In 2531, their fights led them to a different colony, Arcadia. There, she was wounded while trying to aid citizens in evacuating the capital, Pirth City, as the Covenant massacred the entire settlement as much as they could. Though she lost consciousness from blood loss, Tyler patched her wounds after they had evacuated themselves via the city outskirts. She awakened hours later in the Spirit's med bay, weak but nearly combat-ready, and learned that the resident scientist, Professor Ellen Anders, had been kidnapped by the Sangheili ("Elite") Arbiter of the Covenant, who "Kira" identified as Ripa 'Moramee, a massive Elite who had fought off both Greg and high-prestige Sergeant John Forge.
109
110
Due to her healing wounds, she was unable to stop her corporal as he used his ODST suit and a stolen Covenant "antigravity pack" jet pack to jump out of one of the freighter's airlocks into space, going from one ship to the other mid-flight before they warped to an entirely different planet in a slipspace vortex. Azumi never truly found out the whole story of that, but knew that Anders was shot, Greg lost his weapons aside from one pistol, and the Covenant had been alerted due to...something the corporal had done.
111
112
Not long after they landed and began securing the area, James came by with the crazed Private Jack Chambers and several stowaways from Arcadia. Amongst them was Kynthia Usagi herself, slightly older than her picture would make one assume. Others included Hawk Shadowflash, with his enormous sword; Jasmine, with her chakrams and red eyes; Audrey Jones, with her magic sword; Louis Delgado, having a plethora of weapons and a...second K1-R4 for some reason. The group met up with Greg, Sergeant John Forge, Professor Anders, and a man named Alex Mercer, and returned to their base without the sergeant or strange man, who went off to fight more after they broke Chambers' leg for attacking the refugees in a crazed, racist rage.
113
114
The group gave a tour of their base on this world, this "Shield World," but they all attacked Greg in their sleeping quarters when he was revealed to be their commander. Azumi almost shot them for the assault, but Greg ordered her to leave. The tone, cold and demanding, upset her enough to walk out of the room in a rage, telling him she was just concerned. She truly walked away from the door when he shouted at her one more time from beyond to get away. She came back an hour later, however, still concerned for his well-being after hearing from James about Louis' mysterious disappearance in a miniature slipspace rupture that made him cease to exist. She was horrified to see them all unconscious, unable to be awakened by her shakes, and so she came to Tyler, ordering that he help them come back to consciousness and staying right behind him until he would finish his work.
115
116
Two hours of trying went by, each of the women moved to a bed and the men aside from Greg moved to the walls. He was leaning against Kynthia's bed. They all talked about how they were "back" from something, and Greg did something she never saw before. He laughed, showing geniune positive emotion for the first time she had ever seen. Enraged that he would laugh after worrying her sick, she punched him, storming out after asking that Audrey and Jasmine come to help with the Elephants.
117
118
With the Elephants, she asked Audrey and Jasmine to check the restraints holding the FTL drive, their only way home, to one of the Behemoth-class carriers. The plan was to bring it to that station Zulu and Anders had seen, the Apex, and use a shuttle there to bring the drive up to the sun above. The chain reaction would kill the driver, but also obliterate the planet, destroying a portion of this fleet and the Forerunner ships that Regret and the Arbiter hoped to deconstruct and replicate. She talked with Audrey and Jasmine, who told her about the Interference phenomenon. Though initially skeptical, all of their statements about Greg rang true. She told no others, only partly believing this talk of "game universes" herself. During that talk, she accidentally revealed her feelings for Greg, but ordered that the two of them never say a word about it.
119
120
Before they left for the plan, Greg brought the group together for a speech. He told about how he was never cut out to be a corporal, never to be a soldier or even a hero. That he had done his share of deeds and paid the price again and again, lost his friends and allies, lost his love. That he hoped that he could one day make it up to them all, but that it would be best if they found someone else to lead, like Azumi. As a result, she simply gave him his guns after the other two just looked to her, telling him to shut his mouth and lead them to the end of this, to which he smiled and agreed.
121
122
The fight to the launch site, the Battle of the Apex, was very costly for the remaining UNSC forces, especially for Fireteam Kilo. Tyler Vesely was the first to die, his message to the rest of the team saying how he expected to be the first, as the "funny guy," and had not expected to survive his defense of their rear position with the one sniper he had, even though he had taken out many of them before running out of ammunition. James Anchors died as he dove to save Kynthia Usagi from a spray of Needler fire, the plasma melting his chest cavity. His last words told how he had always known Greg had never been to Luna, and that he asked Greg to take care of Kynthia and Azumi herself, since he would not be able to care for his own beau, Federica back on Mars. Her two closest friends, even if one was a jerk. Dead, dead like those from Jericho VII who may have died in the SPARTAN invasion when she wasn't watching it in wonder five years prior, even if she did not drop off contact with her friends and to an extent her family when leaving her homeworld.
123
124
With the leader of the Covenant on this world, the Prophet of Regret, intent on capturing Greg in order to find out what he knows and the origins of his weapons, an extraordinarily large force attacked the top of the Apex once they had reached it and begun to set up the FTL drive. The immensely powerful Ripa 'Moramee came as well, Greg challenging him to a sword duel despite his strange capabilities. Only with the aid of both Kynthia Usagi and another Interference who knew Greg known as Alex Mercer saved the young man's life, killing the Arbiter. As this went on, including a portion during which Kynthia was aiding them instead, Azumi joined the other Interferences, Red Team, and the remaining Marines in fighting off the force coming for them. The Interferences used the truly awesome extent of their abilities in this endeavor, completely obliterating the opposition without much trouble at all.
125
126
In his duel, Greg had been wounded, his hand bloody. He was breaking down crying at the edge of the Apex for the first time she had ever seen him do so when Azumi softly requested that Kynthia comfort him in his time of need, which she complied with. There was a brief moment of romance, one that depressed her even further, before he stood, going to John Forge, who was talking with the Red Team SPARTANs about how he would sacrifice himself for the plan. When the younger soldier knocked him unconscious, the three super soldiers opened fire on him, wounding him before Azumi stepped between the seven-foot-tall shooters and her commander. She stood there as protection with her arms out, telling them they would have to shoot her before they killed him, or they could let him live to save them all, bringing the unconscious Forge to safety.
127
128
All three of them complied, taking the sergeant away as Azumi helped Greg to his feet, hugging him as a confession of her love. Still, she was heartbroken, though understanding, when he quietly rejected her advances, saying he did not feel the same, but giving his position as a Corporal to her, his badge as one, saying she deserved a unit a lot more than he ever had. Then he walked into the ship, limping and leaving a trail of blood as he closed the door. And that was the end of it, as far as she knew. She loved him, he didn't love her, and he was going off to commit suicide to save them. Why did he always have to be the hero?
129
130
Many more temporal ripples, like the one that had taken Delgado, came into being not long after the shuttle launched, the remaining Interferences entering them as the Marines were leaving, only her as a witness to the event. Through a nerve-wracking escape, Azumi and the remaining Marines and SPARTANs managed to leave the detonating Shield World behind, though their lack of an FTL drive left them unable to return to a human settlement, lost and drifting. The young woman went into cryosleep sadly, crying herself into a drug-induced slumber. Again due to that battle, she was friendless and loveless. Her sacrifices, along with those of all others in this Pyrrhic campaign, would never be known due to their lack of appropriate hardware, and could easily be written off in one way or another by the propaganda wing of the human Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). Silently, she hoped that she would never awaken again, her life purposeless beneath her hardened shell.
131
132
Unfortunately for her, one last temporal rupture within her pod would not allow this. She had learned the ways of the Interferences, but perhaps now it was her time to help in her own way.
133
134
Upon arriving in Radiant Garden, burned by the change in temperature from the cryopod, she learned the truth after her rucksack had been magically enhanced by Merlin to serve as an etherspace compartment. She had transferred to a point where her universe was in the year 2552. The Elites had joined with humanity at least in part, though humanity itself was mostly losing the war, but for the aid of one Spartan II. She also learned that, some years earlier, her homeworld had been glassed, leading her to despair. Though she decided not to up front commit suicide by fighting, she did go heavily drinking in Port Royal not long after, killing a bartender and several patrons in the process before being taken away by her ally, Hawk Shadowflash, and sent on her way once she overcame her hangover.
135
136
Still nearly broke, she went back to Radiant Garden, wanting to apologize for her rudeness in leaving Merlin's house. However, she saw two suspicious women, and followed them, watching as one named Dani hypnotized Cid Highwind, and the other, Rikka Masami, seemed to be her ally. Trying to assassinate them from the shadows, she was caught, having no magical defense against the binds or light magic of them, and was hypnotized to work for them for several minutes after rejecting Rikka's invitation to serve her as her personal maid. She gave away her name and who she worked for, but broke out, running off and swearing revenge silently on at least Rikka.
137
138
She went to the world of the Arkhamverse, during the time of Arkham Asylum. Though she mostly stayed out of that Batman's way, she did face off against Pamela "Poison Ivy" Isley, using her guns and grenades in place of his batarangs and explosive gel. She also met with that universe's Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane, using her helmet's filters to mostly keep his gas out of her, but did bear witness to his effect on other people.
139
140
After trips to the worlds of Nippon (disliking Kynthia, but agreeing to tolerate her alongside people like Kalas, Isaac Zivaku, and Sorin Mireu) and Atlantica (liking the peace and quiet mostly, but not liking the dress code), she went back to Radiant Garden once more. This time, she came to Space Paranoids, which was being attacked by a falsely rampant K1-R4. With the help of others, including time traveler Naito Zivaku, Damien Reid, and others she knew such as Isaac and Audrey Jones, they managed to stop the assaults on the world before it completely deconstructed itself, but she, psychologically scarred and wounded by some of the events in there due to post-traumatic stress due to the Flood, stayed behind to recover.
141
142
Over that time, she watched as K1-R4 rebuilt the world, aided by Tron as security, monitoring the resulting portal to other cyber worlds. One day, she met with the Batman of the DC Animated Universe, and was taken in as a student in combat after asking for it. Over the course of many weeks, she developed her skills far more, including the ability to fight blind, use the shadows for stealth, and to fight specific enemy types. He inducted her into the Bat Family, as he and his artificial intelligence butler A.L.F.R.E.D. called it, as both a group to be a part of and a surrogate father of sorts. Unusual for him, she was allowed to kill nonhumans if she had reason to believe there was no other way, and was allowed to keep using lethal firearms. She also received a handheld communicator from him, one that she fit into her helmet for use in combat situations.
143
144
Later, meeting a woman by the name of Cheryl Mason, she helped her to deal with some boy trouble, letting her know her own problems, but was interrupted by a man by the name of Ignis Fatuus. Though she held her own in combat due to her training, she did not manage to defeat him, noticing his horrid treatment of Cheryl and his knowledge of her own name and planet's fate, leading her to believe, before he left, that he was allied with Rikka Masami and Dani.
145
146
Some time later, she found her universe again, Earth during the Battle of New Mombasa. She ended up helping the Rookie, alongside several other Interferences, in completing his mission, showing kindness to Vergil in the Engineer body. Along the way, she met with the Reploid Zero. She also saw Greg once more, having been revived in a somewhat younger body, and made up with him after a short bout of breaking his nose. However, her armor was badly damaged in the process (though she did manage to take a Jackal Shield and Brute knife [really a machete in practice]), so she was given a new one fit better for closer combat, along with the variants for other operations (one for sharpshooting, and one for reconnaissance alongside a standard one if she needed them), and several other helmet attachments for her own use. She was also promoted, albeit covertly, by Veronica Dare from the Office of Naval Intelligence and Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson, becoming a Sergeant if she would act as ONI's Interference operative (not that that actually took any work), not mentioning any other reasons. However, amongst all of these things, she was still declared legally dead due to the fact that the Spirit of Fire had never returned, and was mentally scarred by voluntarily watching the glassing of the city of New Mombasa.
147
148
Some time later, Zero called her in, trusting her after a month in New Mombasa as a military officer like himself. He said that he had a plan to start something called "the Crimson Dawn", an organization made to use any means needed to ensure the preservation of free will. He admitted that he was not one to like to take charge, but did want her to try. Agreeing that they would not kill unless absolutely necessary and would stay out of sight for the most part, she took the role, deciding to work on ranking systems, alliances, and recruitment. After a mission was botched due to Kynthia Usagi (a member) charging ahead when not told to, and hating authority, she tried harder, but decided to be more careful about who she picked, making sure they could handle themselves first.
149
150
Landing in the world of "New City", Azumi stayed there for seven weeks with several others, including one "Spencer Parker", increasing her mobility via learning parkour and how to incorporate it into her combat, and teaching the others, including him, Cheryl Mason, and Isaac Zivaku, close combat as they did. After seven weeks with Runner "Abigail Walters" and her mentor Tracker "Leaf", they left them, on their own paths. Following that, she went to the world of "Dead Space", on the USG Ishimura within the Titan-based space station "the Sprawl", where she met with Jasmine once more, along with Naito Zivaku again, helping to bring them together while getting a "Seeker Rifle" heavy sniper rifle and speaking with engineer Isaac Clarke until they had to leave him.
151
152
Meeting Rikka once again in Radiant Garden's marketplace, she more politely declined the offer to be her maid, but ended up goading her into attacking her on the cameras around the city now. Beating her through the use of some ingenuity, manipulation, and a stealing of her sash, she left, but the angered self-proclaimed goddess damaged her ship greatly, sending it into a downward spiral where it crashed on the world of Fairport, during the second Monolith FEAR game. She aided Dark Signal through the game plot, saving the life of Lieutenant Keira Stokes and shooting Genevieve Aristide, but was trapped there for four months while she repaired her ship, with Kira still on it from the fight with Rikka. Finally, by the end, she was given the name "the Wraith" by the increasingly insane civilians, forced to hide and kill to survive, and losing herself progressively in the process until Greg came in and took her away with Kira, bringing their weapons as well. The encounter left her with a lasting mantra for when she was psychologically unstable: "Instinct, training, discipline, control."
153
154
Psychologically scarred and trying to get back together again, Azumi followed Greg's advice and, when she asked to, went and spoke to a woman she knew only as "Jessica Mireu". However, when in private, the woman revealed herself to be a version of the Laguz from a magical mirror that inverted her entire personality and power set. This version of her threatened everyone Azumi cared for, specifying the women, especially Kynthia Usagi, unless she would let her do whatever she liked with her. Torturing Greg to force the choice, she took Azumi away, forcing her into a very tight black bodysuit with a headband having catlike ears on it and calling her her "pet", forcing her to assault innocent people. However, in The World That Never Was, this Jessica, breaking her promise, was brutally killed by a combination of a half-sane Azumi and several others, including the original Jessica Mireu, for whom Azumi had a lasting irrational hatred. Even once she spoke with Bruce Wayne, Batman out of costume, she only barely managed to pull herself back together, though she did receive a handheld device she could use for hacking into communications and panels at a distance or for disabling weapons in the process. That said, when she had done so, she did not revert back, although she did develop a fear of asphyxiation and a limited split personality as a result that called itself "Zumi", and only came out when she was sufficiently psychologically damaged.
155
156
Some time later, she ran into still more trouble. Under threat of having Greg turned into Dani's mindless worker (an encounter he would not remember), Azumi offered herself in his place, being brought to the Gummi palace (not ship, palace) and signing herself to work for Rikka, as she had previously refused. She would be allowed out, but not to tell anything about the Collective, which included Dani, Ignis, Rikka, and the Arkhamverse's Scarecrow. She was given a dress for the entire thing, and, embarrassed and feeling psychologically a little confused about being alone with Rikka in a semi-amiable manner on the latter's part, also learned that her contract, which protected her friends at her expense, had given Rikka a new "card" based skill, "Vengeful Servant".
157
158
Needing to get out and calm herself, Azumi went out to the worlds for another time, first upgrading her gear, then training herself. She came to the universe of Mass Effect, to the Afterlife club, where she had come up with an idea to ally themselves with a mercenary group known as the Blue Suns, along with the other mercenary groups known as the Blood Pack and Eclipse on more minor levels. There, she met with Isaac, Cheryl, and Kalas once more, alongside Zero. Although Zero managed to secure the alliance with at least the Blue Suns and one with Liara T'Soni with Cheryl and Kalas' help, she was forced to chase after Ignis, who had kidnapped Cheryl Mason and Kalas, with Isaac helping. Using a loophole in her contract, she helped him to save the two alongside Scarecrow of all people (who disliked Ignis' unwarranted methods), Audrey, and her boyfriend Sorin Mireu. Though they did escape, she was assaulted by Ignis in a rage while lacking her armor or weapons, only barely saved by Rikka. Although she was given time to recover, she was later tortured by Rikka, forcing her obedience to her and her alone of the Collective members (though allowing her to keep her morality) after the semi-betrayal.
159
160
Later, she saw Batman again in the world of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, alongside his allied Spiderman of Earth-96169, a fellow Interference with his own superheroic origin. Aiding the Spider-Man of this universe (Earth-TRN009) and the Moon Knight of the same universe, she, and the other Interferences did some work, followed by Azumi having her forced work with the Collective revealed to Batman by Kalas at her request. She received a tracker that she did not check and a set of smoke bombs to help her, however.
161
162
Along with some other Interferences she knew, Azumi spent time in the world of Resistance, during the "Grateford Prison" arc of the third numbered game. She obtained a "Mutator" rifle for her trouble, upgrading it fully with various materials she had found, and calling it technically nonlethal, since the enemies did not strictly die from the poisoning, just were very easy to fully kill. Also, due to being forced there for days with no supplies, she developed her skill with closer combat unarmored better. By the end of the trip, however, Kalas, one of those with her, turned out to have been one trying to get her killed in petty revenge. Though she let him live, she told him the extent of his sin in comparison to her sacrifices, and shot him nonfatally before treating some sickness he had taken in.
163
164
She once arrived in the pre-War version of the Fallout universe, during the Anchorage Reclamation. Aiding the US Army surreptitiously, she helped to take down some of the threats toward them and help them to achieve victory there, not realizing how short time would be before the Great War caused the bombs to fall, annihilating most of their civilization. In her travels, she also managed to steal a Chinese Hei Gui Stealth armor from a Crimson Dragoon stealth warrior, though the stealth functions on it were destroyed in the process. After leaving that world, however, she became jaded about it upon learning that her impact would essentially mean nothing, seeing as the world would be completely changed within the month to a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
165
166
Feeling that she needed to make sure that she was able to still work against the Collective, Azumi created a secondary identity for herself, a secret only for her. Using components found or asked for over her adventure, she went to the Mass Effect universe once more. First, she aided Aria L'Toak, the "don" of Omega of sorts, in fully establishing her control over Omega, so as to get some form of aid in the future and trust from her on some level. Then, this time after the suicide mission of the Normandy SR-2, she arrived on the world of Hagalaz. Speaking to Liara T'Soni, the latest Shadow Broker there, one of the Crimson Dawn's allies, she had a suit of armor constructed for her place as "the Wraith", as well as bladelike and crossbow-like combat applications for her omni-tool that she had gained earlier in Omega, but never used.
167
168
She spent a full night in Arkham City of the Arkhamverse with various Interferences, most importantly the Scarecrow and her Batman, though the normal Jessica was also there. Over her time, she performed a great many deeds, including, but not limited to, the defeat of Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton, the revelation of the identity of the "Identity Thief", Thomas Elliot, saving the lives of Talia al-Ghul and the Joker in spite of herself, and cracking Scarecrow's façade of actual scientific process. Over the process, she also obtained a schematic for the smoke device of Michael Lane, the current Azrael, along with getting Freeze Blasts and Freeze Clusters from Dr. Victor "Mister Freeze" Fries.
169
170
She then, through the use of a time travel device of Naito Zivaku that was followed by Damien Reid and Nicole Archer along with Kira being in her helmet, visited her universe again, this time during the Fall of Reach. She met with a team of supposed "Spartan IIIs" as the Covenant began to glass the city (an event that again scarred her memory), following them as one of their members died to sniper fire, and until they found the famous Doctor Catherine Halsey, with whom she discussed Interfering and various military secrets before leaving once more with a handheld UNSC medical scanner, a UNSC TACPAD for her armor, and taking the deceased Noble Two's Anti-Air variant helmet as an upgrade for her own ODST helmet. She had also seen Louis Delgado for the first time since the time in the Shield World.
171
172
Going to the world and time of the first part of Watchmen: The End is Nigh, Azumi worked alongside Spencer Parker and the heroes Rorschach and Nite Owl II in a prison break, meeting other characters along the way. The fighting was routine, almost completely easy, due to Spencer's magic scaring the hostile inmates, but she did manage to get a concept of the grappling gun used by Rorschach and constructed by his saner partner before the Interferences left.
173
174
Going to the world of The Elder Scrolls, Nirn, Azumi allied her Crimson Dawn with the Morag Tong at the end of the Third Era by helping to destroy the Cyrodiil sect of the antagonistic Dark Brotherhood there with the help of the ninja Mary Delgado and Zero. She left the latter there for two hundred years in the time of the world, allowing him to develop and expand the Dawn there until it was much larger and still covert, she herself just a myth to the people there. Leaving him to train and induct Mary Delgado as a poisons expert in the Crimson Dawn, she let that be, knowing that the Morag Tong, having been saved through the fall of the Morrowind faction by Zero's expansion, would be an invaluable ally in the coming fights. She stayed a bit more, letting him clear things up as she wandered a bit. Finding Haafingar Hold in Skyrim, Nirn, she also found Dani. Zero had put a hit on all Collective members except herself, so she was attacked, but Azumi showed up, being subsequently forced to act as her "housecarl" (bodyguard) and secure a "Thaneship" (effective hero of the area of Haafingar) for the entirety of the Collective, complete with a house in the capital, Solitude. Not having any choice, Azumi did help, though Dani did some work, and the Collective (except Azumi as the housecarl) was given the Thaneship together due to Dani hypnotizing the provincial leader, or "Jarl".
175
176
When the others were checking that world and trying to stay away from Azumi's assassins, Rikka had taken her to the Castle of Dreams in order to act as a scout for newly appearing worlds (ones of Birth By Sleep had only recently been rediscovered). There, Azumi witnessed a fight between Rikka and her heroine of a cryomancer twin sister, and, although Rikka won, she convinced her to spare her sister in order to cause her the most pain, not mentioning that she also just wanted to spare a good person. That done, however, she and Rikka departed.
177
178
She later went to the city of Dunwall in the world of Dishonored alongside Greg, Isaac, Audrey, and Nicole, where she aided in the nonlethal disappearance of Lady Boyle from her party. Though she felt somewhat guilty about it, she didn't let it bother her too much, and she obtained a dart for knocking people unconscious in the process. Through this, Nicole joined the Crimson Dawn, though a later mission would be necessary to prove her worth and loyalty.
179
180
Not long after that, she went to Dwarf Woodlands for a short time, where Naito Zivaku seemed to, without realizing the truth, worship Rikka when she called herself a goddess, until Zero, knowing the truth, arrived and took him away. Zero questioned Rikka, but Azumi managed to convince him that things were fine. However, she knew that hZero would keep questioning this.
181
182
Not long after, she, with help from K1-R4 and Nicole Archer, infiltrated the CIA headquarters of the Tom Clancy universe during the Georgian Information Crisis, helping Sam Fisher of the Splinter Cell program to obtain information easier, an securing an alliance between his group, for the moment Third Echelon, and the Crimson Dawn.
183
184
Afterwards, Azumi returned to Hagalaz, gaining new upgrades for her Wraith armor: a radar, lighter armor, aim assist, and an "Omni-Bow" (with various types of ammunition). She also got a warning to to help Liara T'Soni, and vowed to do so at a later time.
185
186
Going back to Radiant Garden get more equipment from K1-R4, she met up with Isaac, suggesting that he return to the Mass Effect universe. She also learned that the AI had secured the Crimson Dawn's alliance with Sam Fisher and the Third Echelon. She once again ran into Nicole Archer at the RGRC headqarters, and learned that the girl had a crush on her. However, she chose not to pursue this, instead moving and hoping Nicole accepted her decision.
187
188
Later, she met up with Yuki again in Deep Space. Ignis Fatuus appeared as well, trying to use his usual tricks on Yuki, but Azumi managed to intervene, reveling who Ignis was and his true intentions, subverting yet another of his plans for the time being.
189
190-
Afterwards, on the White Knight, Azumi was approached by Dani. The Hypnotic Seductress told Azumi of her sincere intentions with Gregory Zivaku, saying that she truly did want to help him out of his deep depression after the death of his love, Kynthia Usagi. Azumi agreed to modify the contract with Rikka to allow Dani to be with Gregory, so long as she didn't hypnotize him in any form. The two got on much better terms, almost to the point of friendship, and as well became more friendly with Rikka. In turn, this prompted Rikka to make a further change to the contract, elevating Azumi to the position of her Lightsworn Priestess. This gave her a much stronger standing within the Collective, as well as further good relations with Rikka.
