And since I'm spending so much time writing stuff up, I think I'll write a guide on how to even get CM3D2 ready and playable since I still see so many people having trouble just getting the darn thing to run.

Since I still see people to this very day have issues with trying to get CM3D2 to work on their PCs, I've decided to make this not-so-quick start guide that should work for anyone and everyone that wants to play.

First thing's first...

1. Change your system language locale to JAPANESE. (THIS IS IMPORTANT)

Not setting your system locale to Japanese is usually the main culprit as to why users can have issues with not getting the game to work properly. Make sure that you have your locale set to Japanese before proceeding any further. It should be very easy to set by simply checking your OS' Region & Language settings.

NO. DO NOT. STOP THAT. Fuck AppLocale. Fuck NTLEA. Fuck LocaleEmulator. Fuck any person or any guide that tells you to use a Locale program for any reason ever. They're all stupid and dumb because they only emulate a Japanese locale for a single program and that's it. Switching your OS locale to Japanese will allow your system to properly display and READ Japanese text, which is required since the game will need to read filenames and directories in Japanese. This will also allow you to properly extract files and mods with Japanese text instead of them getting extracted with corrupted gibberish text.

Using locale emulators is 90% of the reason why so many folks have problems getting the damn game to start. It may be a pain in the ass to have to switch between system locales just to play, but it must be done. Seriously, don't make Helga mad. Switch your damn locale to Japanese.

NO. DO NOT. STOP THAT. Fuck AppLocale. Fuck NTLEA. Fuck any guide that tells you to use a Locale emulator for any reason ever. Locale emulators are all a waste of time because they only emulate a Japanese locale for a single program and that's it. Switching your OS locale to Japanese will allow your entire system to properly display and READ Japanese text, which is required since the game will need to read filenames and directories in Japanese. This will also allow you to properly extract files and mods with Japanese text as well, otherwise you'll end up extracting said mods with corrupted gibberish text.

2. Download the base game. (Not going to post a link on where to get it. That's up to you to find, which should be easy.)

It may be a pain in the ass to have to switch between system locales just to play, but it must be done. (Not to mention that everything else about your PC will still be set to your default language, so you shouldn't have to worry about all your programs and text being displayed in moonrunes or whatever.)

And that should be it. If you followed everything to a T, your game should be running with no issues. There's still expansion updates like ACT 2 & ACT 3, but those are also technically option and can be added in at anytime. There's still a shitton of mods and DLC you'll need if you want to get your furry maids looking the way they do in the /trash/ threads, but again that's all on you to find, discover or request on various sites across the internets.
