+   ∘ from the beginning, an accurate way to describe tse daizhen would be, well, tragic. it might seem like an over-exaggeration, but honestly, her life was more than just a little rough. her story was prefaced with the mysterious death of her parents when she and her twin brother, tse weiyu, were only five years old -- barely old enough to even know the people who were meant to raise them. almost instantaneously, the children were shipped halfway across the country and plopped in the care of a grandmother from their father's side who, honestly, they had never met before. she was a woman of high standing, who just so happened to be the ceo of some hotshot chinese commercial empire, which meant she was very rich... as well as very busy. the first few months of living with her were hard for the tse twins, and more often than not, they were forced to turn to each other in such a foreign environment. after a while, though, their grandmother began to take a more active role in their upbringing, and they began to feel as if there was actually someone left in the world who still loved them. despite being placed in the care of one of the richest women in all of asia, daizhen and her brother learned early on that it was quite impossible to take anything for granted, and more often than not, they had to work for anything they wanted. their grandmother wasn't a cruel person, but she did believe in tough love and raising children who could fend for themselves in the world without her help. as a result, she ended up putting the children in situations that, although they weren't conventional, were ultimately helpful. daizhen and weiyu grew to love their grandmother like nothing else in the world, and although the hardened old crone would never admit it, she reciprocated the feelings just as intensely.

+   ∘ as they grew older, she began to realize that her brother didn't have as much of a willful spirit when compared to her, and instinctively just began to try and protect him in any way that was possible. the child rearing methods their grandmother utilized resulted in daizhen blossoming with an outgoing and fearless personality. (this was only supported more by the fact that both twins were enrolled in various forms of martial arts around the age of ten.) when they both entered high school, she gained lots of friends and became close to more people than she thought she ever could. however, she still stuck to her brother's side like glue, and they were practically inseparable -- even during the one year when they didn't have any classes together. it didn't come as any surprise to them that their grandmother was /also/ very pushy when it came to school activities and grades. daizhen and her brother often alternated between studying and practicing their martial arts, and even though this led to a loss in terms of a social life, they both came out towards the top of their classes. they also picked up a few more languages than they thought they could manage, but hey, whatever works. however, despite all the focus daizhen put into school and her studies, she always secretly felt as if her life was too... bland, and missing something. (it wasn't until a few years later than she realized that she was addicted to the adrenaline high she got after doing something particularly exhilarating.)

+   ∘ but, as most things, eventually high school came to an end, and it was time for the twins to move on to college and the next step of their lives. honestly, daizhen wasn't even sure what she wanted to do with her life. she vaguely knew that pursuing acting would be kind of cool for her, but she didn't know if her aspiration for it was big enough to push her in that direction. of course, when weiyu decided he wanted to leave china and head to korea in order to major in pre med, the decision wasn't too hard for her -- and she ended up following him purely out of loyalty, and the fact that she couldn't stand the thought of being separated from her brother. of course, their grandmother had a bit of a tough time when they informed her of their decision, but after many tears shed and what seemed like a thousand goodbyes and i love yous, they departed successfully and ended up rooming together in korea. and somehow, a few months afterwards, daizhen practically stumbled upon the kcia. she had decided to major in business (for her grandmother's sake,) and was just handling basic things in korea's branch of her family's company, serving as one of the higher ups, you know, but her life seemed like it was lacking the thrill. long story short, she essentially joined the agency because she hoped it would bring spice to her life, and that it did. but somewhere along the way, she actually fell in love with leading a double life, and how different the pace was compared to the boring and dull life she had been living earlier. of course, she would kill herself before letting her grandmother or brother know about her second life, and she would give it all up in an instant if it meant keeping her family safe.

+   ∘ upon first glance, tse daizhen is what you could consider a small and meek girl who honestly doesn't stand out further than her wide eyes and innocent face. she seems like a calm person who blends into the background, and if we're being real... she's honestly kind of cute. to the average person, she's a harmless little business major who you wouldn't think twice about doing anything top secret that involves risking lives in order to make the country a better place. the truth? of course is that she is none of that. i mean, sure, she does have the kind of small that could warm the hardest of hearts without any effort. and yeah, anybody might admit that she seems close to perfect. but, as they say, looks can be deceiving -- and nothing could be truer for daizhen. in fact, with how much of a bitch she truly is, she might as well be the devil in disguise. okay, so maybe she doesn't /mean/ to be such an ass, but when it comes to her true personality... well, there are some things that are hard to hide. one of her BIGGEST problems (and by biggest, i mean she has almost died on more than one occasion due to it) is that she truly has no filter. she says her mind without thinking twice, and more often than not, she tells the blatant -- and truly, sometimes hard -- truth to people who aren't willing to hear it. sure, she knows that its kind of stupid to just say whatever she's thinking (after all, she was one of the smartest in her year during high school) she just can't put a stopper on it. the issue is so bad that sometimes, her friends have to intervene by PHYSICALLY covering her mouth and suffocating her until she gets the point. daizhen is the kind of person who isn't afraid of what people think of her, and sees it as a disgrace to not reveal the cold, hard truth to those who have their heads stuck in the clouds, despite knowing that rationally, its never a good idea to point out a persons flaws and rub it in their face. what makes it all the more worse is that when she makes such comments, she does it without any true malice (albeit, she also doesn't have any remorse for the hurtful comments) and says them so plainly that people feel even more degraded, and as a result, even more angry.
    ∘ along with being blunt, daizhen is the kind of person who is always ready for anything and everything -- whether it be pigs flying, world war 3, or the next game of pai sho. she's the kind of person who seeks out adventure and a thrill in her life, and is always bouncing on the balls of her feet in anticipation for the next great escapade. more often than not, she'll be bouncing off the walls, just /waiting/ for the next attack or mission that they are to be sent on. of course, because of how unpredictable she is, wherever you find daizhen, you will most likely find LIVEWIRE. the pair of them always argue over trivial things, including when she'll calm down and take on the world like an actual adult, but when they're being honest, the two of them are actually the closest out of all the girls. she actually kind of has a thing for getting on her friends nerves -- all in good fun, of course -- and takes pleasure in getting them to pop. and of course, daizhen has a thing for pain: as long as its not hers or her friends, then she strongly advocates it, especially as the outcome of violence. in that sense, she's actually a bit of a wildfire because of how long she can burn for, and how she basically never settles down. of course, that kind of attitude sort of is why the kcia chose her to be recruited -- but its also why they always keep a close eye on her, out of all the agent they have. daizhen is a very violent person, even in her everyday life, and if she can find a way to playfully hurt you (eg. slapping you when something is funny, punching you when you make a joke about her, etc) then she probably will. she's slightly abusive, but somehow, she manages to pull it off cutely. most of the agents think its because of her wide doe eyes, but a lady never reveals her secrets... additionally, and quite surprisingly, daizhen is actually pretty hard to get /mad/ mad (because lets face it, she's probably always "mad") but when you do manage the hard feat, you better run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. she's all bite and no bark, and even though she has a cute and innocent face, she can do some serious damage that you probably would want to avoid.

+   ∘ daizhen also has a... slight issue with thinking things through. yeah, she's actually kind of a genius, but her intelligence is based only in books, and unfortunately not in the streets. as you could probably tell from how blatantly rude she is without even doing it on purpose, she doesn't really bother to think before she acts. despite her brains, its like she only has a one-track-mind, and can only think of one thing at a time. its actually a big problem, especially when it comes to the missions she's sent on, but luckily her friends are the best damage control korea can offer. when you compare her idiotic actions to her actual level of intellect, its almost laughable how stupid she ends up acting. daizhen is definitely the character who goes into a situation with guns ablazing without... actually knowing whats happening, or what the mission is. a few examples of places where's she just been ready to jump somebody (or worse) are during her college class lectures, while visiting and ice cream shop, and right after she's finished showering. needless to say, she's a bit anxious and ALWAYS ready, no matter where she is. however, despite being quite stupid when it comes to following set plans (she really enjoys to improvise) daizhen actually has a winning hand up her sleeve in the form of her decisiveness. for many people, making tough decisions under extreme circumstances can be a problem because of how they end up over analyzing the situation. with daizhen, however, she's able to make a choice just like that, which has often saved their asses in many missions. she doesn't think twice about it, and just... does it, which actually makes her a wonderful addition to the team. when asked, she claims that she has no problem making hard decisions -- because she prefers that when she looks back on her life, to regret only the things she did, and not the things she didn't do.

+   ∘ of course, being a wonderful decision maker isn't her only strong point. daizhen is actually extremely gifted in the art of acting, a skill she discovered while in high school when her grandmother pushed her to do literally everything. she auditioned for the musical on a whim in her freshman year, simply because one of her friends practically forced her after daizhen tricked her into thinking her dog died (she's allergic to dogs, to put things into perspective) and things just played out afterwards. she really fell in love with acting -- or, moreso, the thrill of being on a stage in front of so many people, and honestly its a skill thats always stuck in the back of her mind. to this day, daizhen prides herself on playing the role of the adorable, ditzy college girl to a T; and, not to boost her ego or anything, but she actually really does. essentially, she's a girl who might be a bit rough around the edges, and maybe just a bit too eager in most situations... but she's also an adorable little girl, who, while she could cut you with 57 different kinds of knifes, is quite endearing, and an invaluable member of the team that none of the members would trade in for the world.

 ―HOW DID THEY MEET:
    ∘ the circumstances that daizhen and taehyung met under seem very unorthodox and slightly ironic when you consider what they do for a living. rather than meeting in a traditional ganster-meets-agent showdown fashion, their first encounter occurred at the most unlikely of places: a charity gala. daizhen was attending on behalf of her grandmother; because the woman was a very influential, as well as important person in the business world, it made her one too simply by association. and along with being well known came attending fancy balls and dinner parties... not that she minded most of the time. as long as there was free food, and it was good food, you won't have a hard time convincing her to show up. taehyung, on the other hand, is a party boy through and through. he lives for going out and attending whatever the night has to offer; but, he isn't your traditional frat boy. he has class, and only attends things that are up to his gucci standards. the clothes on his back are worth more than 1 million won, and he'll be damned if he dresses like that only to go partying at some run down club with cheap alcohol. coming from old money really influenced taehyung, and his taste is of the highest caliber. no, he prefers the elite side of the social spectrum, and often thinks of it as a game to play with the snobby (but actually kind of hot) socialites that wander the streets of gangnam -- the ones he's grown up with, courtesy of his extremely rich parents. of course, when you don't have your wingmen with you -- jungkook and jimin claimed they were too busy with kharon business to go out with him, but they've done it twice before, and he is beginning to suspect its something else -- then the night isn't all that fun. upon arriving at the gala, daizhen and taehyung found each other quicker than they thought they would. standing on opposite sides of the spacious ballroom, chatting with random people while simultaneously stealing glances at each other, wondering if the other was doing the same. of course, when they realized that the interest was mutual, things only escalated, and for the next half an hour or so, they continued with the heated looks and the sex stare. to anyone around them, it was impossible to ignore the sexual tension that seemed to tighten like a string between them. finally, though, daizhen decided enough was enough, and that she should go have some ~fun~. so, knocking back whatever-the-hell was in her champagne glass, she mustered up the courage to go up to him and actually talk. their conversation started off simple enough: they introduce each other and start discussing something really arbitrary; funnily enough, they don't recognize who the other is. daizhen because the only information she and the other girls have on the hitman of kharon is that he goes by v, and nothing more. after all, coming from a big and influential family, taehyung DOES know how to cover his tracks. after talking for a while, though, she really ends up just cutting to the chase. at a certain lull in the conversation, daizhen blurts out something similar to "you're hot, and so am i. do you want to fuck?" taehyung is slightly amused by how straightforward such a cute girl is; and just like any warmblooded male, he is actually thinking about taking her up on the offer. of course, he can't let her know that, and responds with a chuckle and the line "do you really think i would stoop so low to fuck the first hot girl to ask me that at this party?" in his hella deep, hella husky voice.
    ∘ not surprisingly, 20 minutes later, the two of them have disappeared to the bathroom (which is actually really luxurious, considering how rich the hosts of the gala are) for a not-so-quick quickie.

    ∘ when they first met, there was mutually undeniable sexual attraction. it was like she was controlled by her hormones, and it didn't even occur to her that this guy she's never met before could be even the slightest bit sketchy. of course, when you look like taehyung does, most people probably won't speculate about any illicit behavior you could potentially commit. the first few times afterwards when they interact, its essentially a booty call. that's just the relationship they have for a while, until something comes up and taehyung needs a date for a "family" event asap -- the only person he can think of is daizhen. afterwards, their relationship continues to progress into something more, and they begin to develop feelings for each other... all the while, not knowing what the other is keeping a secret. they both feel bad for growing closer while living a double life -- daizhen in particular. she's never really had a good experience with boys and boyfriends, and she begins to realize that she REALLY wants this one to work out. she wants it so much that she tries to make sure he doesn't meet her friends (because knowing them, they'd probably find a way to screw it up.) and because of this, she feels bummed about not being able to tell him that she's a secret agent working for the kcia. it's against the rules to tell anyone, and although she doesn't see the harm in telling her boyfriend, she decides to follow the rules and keep it to himself. for taehyung, it's different. he's the kind of person who only agreed to join kharon because he couldn't stand the suffocating standards that his parents placed him under -- it's his, albeit gruesome and slightly illegal, escape from life and he doesn't want to mix his personal life into his work life. additionally, he's too afraid that telling daizhen will scare her far away from him -- something that he couldn't bear to even imagine. he knows that she's not the delicate flower that she seems to be to most people, but he also believes that telling her that he kills people because he's involved in a gang would just... break her. of course, he doesn't know that she's one of the agents tasked with taking down his organization. honestly, it's quite ironic how wonderfully everything works out for them -- daizhen doesn't know he's part of kharon, because he goes by the name 'v' in the organization. her fellow agents, who are the few to have actually seen him (once, and it was barely a glance) on a mission have never met her secret boyfriend, and therefore can't tell her who he is. and she refuses to let him know of her side job, no matter how much she wants to tell him. in a way, they're more lucky than the others -- who, although they have developing feelings, can't outright be together because of how they know they are enemies. taehyung's adamant insistence that nobody close to him, such as his brother and now, his girlfriend, know what he does is sort of their saving grace. they go the majority of their relationship while being completely oblivious to the things that the other does, until shit hits the fan and everything is revealed. honestly, they could have seen it coming earlier. for daizhen, she should have been able to pick up the signs based on the crime scenes taehyung left behind; for taehyung, he should have known that there was something familiar about whoever was tracking them, and how they always knew his whereabouts. essentially, the revelation destroys their relationship, and they call it off... and for the next weeks, they are miserable without each other. even though they know that the other goes against everything they stand for, they're kind of in love with each other, and are willing to put aside that side of their lives in order to just be together.
