14 | - | - Cruxis Flight: Greg is capable of flying with the use of his summonable wings of white energy. He has this due to the remainder of his former Cruxis-based Angel artes being infused into him by the Summon Spirit and guardian of the most recent World Tree of Aselia, Martel. |
14 | + | |
15 | Abilities: Azumi is not an Interference who has any magical powers, relying on her extensive training, equipment, and supplies for her strengths.
16 | - | - Angelic Magic: Gained through his revival by the magic of Martel. Currently, he is still trying to learn this magic, and has nothing more than the base spell of "Halo" and the minor healing "Blessing." |
16 | + | |
17 | - She has competent skills with hand-to-hand combat and knife work, and is a pretty good shot with a firearm (though she needs practice, time, or stationary targets to shoot heads), all due to her training. If given medical equipment, she is able to fix many wounds if nonfatal, though only according to the properties of the materials themselves, and not through any special abilities of her own.
18 | - | - Summon--Aska: Half of the Sylvaranti Light of the Heavens, Greg can call upon this more solar-oriented Summon Spirit for a limited time, which takes the form of a magnificent, golden, two-headed bird. He can do so due to the reinstatement of a Summon Spirit Pact since his revival. However, to perform the summon, Greg is required to play a set of panpipes produced from the fruit of the landlocked Linkite Tree. The Spirit has access to various physical attacks as well as its personal arte, Sunshine Nova, which produces a ball of light before him that quickly explodes. He can also carry two passengers upon his back, and rain beams of light from the sky as he flies, though this only happens on occasion. He can also increase the defense (both magical and physical) of one ally through the use of a skill known as "Resist," sometimes also known as "Aska's Embrace". Though healed by attacks using the light element, he is weakened quickly through the use of darkness magic, which quickly can cause his dispersal. |
18 | + | |
19 | - Due to the implanted neural interface in the back of her head, she can access computer files that she has downloaded to her Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance (VISR), including maps, limited audio and video feeds, and tactical data, though an artificial intelligence may be required to use this information. Also, she is incapable of fighting while using this system, aside from a green-tinted nightvision mode that outlines her allies as in a green highlight, her enemies as red, though it takes a long time to show a change in alliance. This system can also see the outlines of invisible enemies, but only if they are given their invisibility by technological means. Objectives have a yellow outline and a marker for distance, while weapons not equipped by anyone are outlined in blue. Due to the nature of this nightvision, daylight conditions or any other bright light combined with its use can cause temporary blinding.
20 | ||
21 | - | Personality: When he began Interfering, Greg was very friendly, but known to make a sarcastic comment at times. In battle, he tended toward trying to have fun with the occasional wisecrack. His anger led him to impulsiveness more than once. After learning of the evil within his brother, he became far more cold and humorless, only truly able to be happy when he was with Kynthia Usagi, the woman he learned to love above all else. Due to the influence of Jealousy, this obsession with Miss Usagi became completely unhinged, leading him to violence in her name on many occasions, up to and including murder to "protect" her. Following his breakup, he became far more distant and cold, his soul becoming cold as ice as he ventured over the course of four years. In his last few hours of life up until his death through his new revival, he has tried his best to be tolerant and to make amends for all of his past mistakes. He has regained his humor to an extent, but still has a determination streak, and will do what is in his power to fight whoever would harm his loved ones, especially family or Kynthia. However, if he does not think any good can come of a fight, he will do his best to settle a manner peacefully, even if it means being hurt as a result. His memories include both his own and an unknown multitude of others from various worlds. As such, he may occasionally mention someone he could not possibly know, or have hatred for one person or another that he hates for unknown reasons. However, these moments pass very quickly, and his own personality tends to hold preference, only leading to occasional slip ups and knowledge of the use of some weapons that he did not have previous training with. This strange memory is an unexpected side effect of Martel's revival process, and the reason she constructed the Bifröst and the Tendou swords as an apology. |
21 | + | - Otherwise, she is a completely normal human being, albeit trained in the special forces of an army, her other capabilities limited to her armor (see Appearance), and able to be short-circuited or otherwise damaged. |
22 | ||
23 | - | Aska, the Summon Spirit of Light that was paired with Luna of the Moon in the grouping of the Sylvaranti Summon Spirits known as the Light of the Heavens, holds a connection with Greg. He acts as a mentor and surrogate father figure, speaking in Early Modern English out of habit. This Spirit holds a close connection to Luna, and occasionally worries for her safety, but not nearly as much as she misses his presence when he is gone. |
23 | + | |
24 | Personality: Azumi is rather headstrong and quick to anger, prone to taking out a weapon if she feels threatened. Nonetheless, she is also able to calmly plan attacks, having experience with commanding from her time with Fireteam Kilo and the moments directly after when she was escaping with her new promotion. Also due to her military training, she can be very formal around superiors (though not necessarily following their orders), often giving a salute as greeting. However, her anger is generally a facade, as she is very emotionally unstable. While she does not cry out from physical pain often due to her training and determination, she can be upset if one talks about her past, and can be very kind and sympathetic to those she feels hide their pain, a trait she also uses through her rage. Only when around her closest friends does she ever let her true self out, though she generally does her best to hide any emotional distress, especially from her enemies.
25 | ||
26 | Due to her training, it is very difficult to make her do things through physical harm, though she can be psychologically broken down if someone knows the right buttons.

32 | - | Weapons: Bifröst (Bifrost) and Tendou, his twin swords. He received these new versions of his old weapons upon his revival. Bifröst is in a thicker blade in the design of his native world of Aselia, the artistic style of the "Tales" series. The blade is golden with lines of very bright blue spiraling down it, and an aqua hilt with an orange pommel. Engraved in the hilt is the word "Dellingr," written in Old Norse. Tendou is thinner, in the style of Nippon, the world of Ōkami and related games, one that had a key part in his life. It is a white blade with red, archaic lines running along the blade itself, and has a very bright yellow hilt with the kanji symbol for evening, "yui," engraved on the hilt in a shade of green reminiscent of the Agata Forest over which Yumigami reigns. A small tassel extends from the pommel, a silvery-white akin to the moon itself. |
32 | + | Appearance: This picture from the amazing Umiyuri, with a small metal ball implanted in the back of her head at the base of her skull. Her armor as shown is the standard Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Battle Dress Uniform (ODST BDU for short), seen in engine here and in live action here. The helmet can be polarized or depolarized using the neural interface, the polarized form having the necessary Helmet Mounted Display for combat, the depolarized allowing the face to be visible. The back has a rucksack attached with a supply extending into Hammerspace, her only somewhat magical component due to a need to carry as much as possible. The front pouch, over her chest and disguised as just an armored plate, is another compartment to keep her things in, but this one is not magically enhanced. The entire uniform, if all on without any tears, has a fifteen-minute air supply for vacuum situations, and can be internally heated or cooled for comfort, or, if given ample time, to match outside heat temperatures for stealth operations. It once had video recording capabilities, but these are not possible any longer due to the nature of her jump. The chest has an insignia of a UNSC Marine Corporal in relief upon it. |
33 | ||
34 | She keeps her pistol slung at her right hip, her knife in a sheath attached to her chestplate.
35 | - | Hobbies: Flying, joking around, being with his closest friends (mainly Sora, Kairi, and Kynthia) |
35 | + | |
36 | Contrary to what one might expect, this armor only gives her limited protection against glancing blows and darts, most regular attacks able to hit her.
37 | ||
38 | - | Awareness: Yes, due to being one of the first Interferences. |
38 | + | |
39 | Weapons: All of Azumi's weapons are holdovers from her job as a shock trooper. For close quarters combat, she has a standard-issue, UNSC combat knife. For more range, she tends to use an M6S Automag pistol, a relatively weak weapon that is nonetheless suppressed and scoped. When she gains new weapons, she tends to leave older ones behind, though trying to augment the newer ones to have some of the same capabilities as the older. She tends toward weapons with sound and flash suppressors, but not exclusively.
40 | ||
41 | - | History: Two years before the joining of the world, Greg stumbled upon a human ranch while walking in a forest. He snuck in, past guards, nd found what they called the 'Angelus Project'. Knowing guards would come soon, he took a crystal from the conveyor belts, and ran. When he got home, he pushed the crystal into the back of his hand, thinking it was an Exsphere, and was noticed. His father asked where he got it, but Greg did not respond until he unintentionally summoned two wings of energy. He told what had happened, but only his family found out. Two years later, the boy found what a friend of his names lloyd called the Renegade base. There was a portal of some sort above. Curious, Greg flew into the portal, not knowing where it would bring him, but wanting some adventure in his life. He thought it was starting to get a little boring. |
41 | + | |
42 | Hobbies: Training, and only when she finds the time to try it.
43 | - | After going through the portal, Greg awoke in an alley on Radiant Garden with a massive headache caused by a head-on collision with a brick wall. He met a war-crazed young woman who spoke in the third person named Kynthia Usagi, someone who he learned to like somewhat even though he found her somewhat odd and insane. Though they parted ways after some time, with him going off around the world and meeting the Original Interference who explained Interfering, she eventually became the most important person in his life. |
43 | + | |
44 | ||
45 | - | Next, he came to Destiny Islands. Here he met Alexander Karsath once more after running into him during his time in Radiant Garden, and also met Sora, learning about Nobodies in the process. The Keyblader quickly became a close friend, eventually his best friend platonic friend, even though for a time Greg did joke about his "imaginary friend," Roxas, which he still assumed to be a sign of schizophrenia regardless of an explanation. |
45 | + | Awareness: Yes, due to Audrey M. Jones in the thread "Swan Song". |
46 | ||
47 | - | Their next world was the Land of Dragons. Here, the duo met with Kynthia once more at the end, who decided to travel with the boys. They came to Deep Jungle, and went through an Awakening for Kynthia and Greg using Sora's Station, another way that linked them together. Here Roxas helped out, an addition that finally showed Greg that he was actually real. Afterward, the boys explained to Kynthia over tea with Jane what it meant to be an Interference. With her distraught and running off, Greg went after her, comforting her and in effect beginning to break her speech pattern as he became somewhat more serious. Through this experience, they grew emotionally closer, though Sora's eavesdropping did ruin the mood somewhat. |
47 | + | |
48 | History: Azumi Emily Ian was born in the year of 2510 on the Outer Colony of Jericho VII in the Lambda Serpentis System to Asian-ancestry parents. On this world, she mainly learned English, appreciating the four silver moons in her sky. She bleached her black hair at one point, turning it to an orange color.
49 | - | Together, the trio went to many worlds, and found out about the evil of Greg's brother Isaac on Bord'wan. This revelation completely erased his happy sarcasm, replacing it with anger and cynicism that only dropped when he spoke to Kynthia. |
49 | + | |
50 | She knew of rebellious factions on her homeworld, ones that aimed to fight against what they deemed to be the oppression of the Earth-based United Nations Space Command (UNSC), but simply showed anger at these groups, having faith in the safety of her world without the insurgency brewing. However, though safe, she found herself generally friendless, her few close companions turning on her in favor of bullies time and again due to her unflinching faith in the status quo. The young girl was forced to teach herself martial arts in order to defend herself against the occasional bully, generally triumphing with naught but a few scratches or a bruise.
51 | - | Not much later, the trio came to Disney Castle. There, they and many others went on an extensive journey, including Timeless River and a fight with two armored warriors. One wielded a Keyblade, the other a Lockshield. That night, spent in the castle, Greg woke from a bad dream, but was held up by an unknown mercenary with a whiplike weapon who wanted his Hi-Exsphere. Another mystery man fought him, smashing him out of a window in the process. The savior seemed to like Kynthia, leaving a rose for her, but left quickly, only telling Alexander, who was also present, not to die. |
51 | + | |
52 | At the age of fifteen, she was witness to strange, fast, powerful human soldiers in odd green combat armor (SPARTAN IIs in Mark IV MJOLNIR armor) came to the world in order to silence the rebel factions. The operation was quick and bloody, simultaneously scarring her and interesting her in aiding humanity militarily. Her attitude only increased when news came of a war with an alien empire known as the "Covenant," having begun the same year. One year later, she ran away, hitching a ride aboard a colonial ship that came back to a world with a training facility. Luckily, she just barely made it within the age limit to enlist, entering her training. At that facility, she cut her hair short, learning the art of short-blade combat with a knife and gunplay. She also refined her unarmed combat, though she was never afraid to fight dirty in her training.
53 | - | Next came the world of Twilight Town. Greg and Kynthia went to a recently-opened club known as the "Sunset Club" on their own, with Sora leaving them be to do what they want to. After some time, their dancing turned to a slow dance, and they came together, very nearly kissing. They would have gone through with it, too, if not for Sora taking a picture of them together using Pence's camera. Even though they both realized what happened and were closer for it, nevertheless, they chased the "keyboy" to the Usual Spot save point, beating him up for a little while on the Redemption, as Greg's Gummi ship was later named. |
53 | + | |
54 | Within a few years' time, she had reached the rank of Lance Corporal, the third Enlisted rank from the lowest. She volunteered to undergo a psychological and physical examination as well as even harder training than she had ever done. She passed the physical examination, and managed to get by the psychological one as well by a slimmer margin. Though she neglected to choose a specialty, she trained herself in medical work, though not to the level of the medicine that the official medic "Hospital Corpsmen" had, instead merely to mending bones, sealing some wounds, and quick emergency work in case the Corpsman on her team died, as occasionally occurred.
55 | - | Next came the world of Port Royal. Isaac fought Greg once more, now in the employment of a being known as "Marcel," truly an evil creature known as Zeik that was possessing the form of the dark fiend Yubel. In this fight, Greg used his wings for the first time since becoming an Interference, Isaac growing a pair of red-and-black wings akin to a "Red Eyes Darkness Dragon," from the same universe that Yubel itself hailed. Due to aid from others, Greg finally managed to force Isaac to leave once more, though his obsession with power did upset the angel. During this world visit, Kairi, identified by Sora's friend Riku as "Sora's sweetheart," caught up with the trio and joined them. Though Kynthia initially objected to the newcomer, as well as to sharing her Destiny ship, the two became close friends, as close as Greg and Sora were. |
55 | + | |
56 | In 2530, she was hand-picked for a four-person fireteam known as "Fireteam Kilo" to be transferred to the already years-long campaign on the human colony of Harvest. There was an engineer from Mars named Private James Anchors, a Harvest-born corpsman named Private Tyler Vesely, and the mysterious Gregory "Zulu" Zivaku, the corporal who had picked them all under his low command position.
57 | - | After some time, the quartet reached the world of Nippon, Kynthia's home. There, they stayed at the Sparrow Inn, but Kynthia left in the middle of the night. Greg went after her, others in pursuit. Eventually, they reached her in a clearing in the Agata Forest, where she was fighting with her father, the lagomorph lunar god known as Yumigami. To aid her, the group prayed hard for her victory, managing to unlock a "goddess form" for her to allow her to be victorious, though she did fall unconscious soon after. The fight itself caused Greg to hate Yumigami, feelings that were returned in kind with time. However, he did learn from the god that Kynthia's love for the angel had allowed her to use it instead of her rage. When she awoke, he brought her to another area of the forest alone, and they confessed their love for one another, kissing at last and becoming an official couple. |
57 | + | |
58 | Together, they went through orders from the highest command on the operation, Captain James Gregory Cutter, their personal artificial intelligence K1-R4 from Zulu having a very bad relationship with the AI on board the Spirit of Fire freighter along the way, though giving a plethora of tactical information as they obeyed their COs or disobeyed, "acquiring" bases secured by the remaining Insurgency on Harvest or clearing landing sites for air support to be given to later, lower-trained teams.
59 | - | After that visit, the group went to Greg's home world, which he wanted to show to his new girlfriend. Many events happened in Aselia, including, but not limited to, the death of Sain, Greg's father, at Isaac's hand, the joining of the small pink puffball fairy known as the Watapon "Wata" who became a kind of pet to Kairi, and the development of a counterpart within Greg known as Lukgar Revak, the manifestation of Cruxis powers. The sarcasm of the latter was caustic and insulting, especially toward Greg and Kynthia, and Roxas and Naminé eventually followed his example in varying degrees. |
59 | + | |
60 | Over time, she came to have different relationships with each member of her team. James was nice to her, being between neutral and on good terms in her books. Tyler was the opposite, a major annoyance with his crude comments and unnecessary sarcasm.
61 | - | After some time, the party came to the Jade Empire. There, Greg mercy-killed Kynthia by doing what he knew would cause his brother to kill her rather than hand her over to his immoral partner, Ronald Rivers, and was finally killed by his demonic brother soon after. In the Land of Spirits, the couple met Audrey Jones and "Heather" Mason, an external Interference and canon respectively, all four having died alongside Furious Ming, the protagonist of the game, with even Lukgar Revak having a physical form in this realm. As Sora and Kairi tearfully paid their respects at a makeshift funeral, the deceased fought through a snowy city known as "Dirge," cleansing a temple for the local goddess of reincarnation and the circle of life in the process. At the end of that journey, all but Audrey fought the manifestation of their sins, doppelgängers that looked exactly like them, except without the snow-white hair color of a spirit. Ming fought his Sorrow, Heather and Kynthia their respective Rage (the latter apparently showing attraction for Isaac), and Lukgar a large monster known as the Minion of Suffering while Greg fought his Jealousy. The females and Lukgar rejected their sins, but Greg simply killed his Jealousy through a trick. This distinction would haunt him for years to come. |
61 | + | |
62 | She spoke with her direct CO a lot as second-in-command to first of the team, treading lightly through his cold, distant, often angry demeanor to find details of his history, anything to make him more relatable, more human. Over time, her sympathy for his plight developed into a deep attraction, though she would not say so, often ending their conversations about such topics as his family or other parts of his past with arguments that had her leaving the room in a huff. During these conversations, she also saw him show a depressed side to himself, mainly in regard to his ex-girlfriend, one Kynthia Usagi that he had known from a training facility on the Earth's moon of Luna. To Azumi's dismay, he had never let his feelings for the ex go, still carrying a picture of her with him wherever he went.
63 | - | After visiting a great many worlds, most of which were previously unknown, the party was split up into three groups during a sequence of events that can be known generally as "the soul-bind affair" on the Earth of the Haloverse. During this time, Kynthia had been forced to kiss Isaac as she normally would Greg under the control of the demon, resulting on the angel believing her to have cheated on him. Sora and Kairi were left to themselves, while Kynthia traveled with Isaac on many psychologically scarring adventures. The focus for us here, however, is that Greg chased Ronald Rivers across several worlds in his attempt to find out why Kynthia would cheat on him, becoming increasingly angry and insane in the process, even going into true combat with a forced Kynthia at one point. Eventually, Greg came to the world of Fable, Albion, in the final events of the original game, seeing the same mysterious man from Disney Castle who had helped them over the course of many worlds in the interim. At this time, he learned the truth when the man was unconscious. This "Captain Kaith," this semi-SPARTAN II, was Gregory from an aborted future, one where he had murdered Isaac and left Kynthia for a period of five years for her safety without ever telling her. After explaining what had truly happened to the younger angel's girlfriend, the Future Greg used his powers of a Cruxis angel to bring Greg to the world of Greece, the universe of God of War during the prologue events of the first game. There, they met Sora, Kairi, and Kynthia once more, a joyful reunion only somewhat dampened by the revelation of Kynthia's evil actions in the period of their separation, due to corruption on the part of Isaac giving her Rage temporary life. They also met a flirtatious young man named Samuel Dolor, another Interference who irritated Greg and the others considerably. More importantly than him, Kaith was reunited with the future of Kynthia, who had been traveling with Sora and Kairi looking for him. This reunion was....somewhat less joyful, with him barely escaping with his life after a long beating for his absence. |
63 | + | |
64 | In 2531, their fights led them to a different colony, Arcadia. There, she was wounded while trying to aid citizens in evacuating the capital, Pirth City, as the Covenant massacred the entire settlement as much as they could. Though she lost consciousness from blood loss, Tyler patched her wounds after they had evacuated themselves via the city outskirts. She awakened hours later in the Spirit's med bay, weak but nearly combat-ready, and learned that the resident scientist, Professor Ellen Anders, had been kidnapped by the Sangheili ("Elite") Arbiter of the Covenant, who "Kira" identified as Ripa 'Moramee, a massive Elite who had fought off both Greg and high-prestige Sergeant John Forge.
65 | - | Together, the sextet continued their travels. They returned to Radiant Garden, where Kaith and Demi reconciled privately and Greg was together with his girlfriend once more to speak privately when Kairi dragged Sora away. After some time, Greg and Kynthia found them kissing, and took a picture that they kept as blackmail from then on in, never letting go of it as revenge for Sora's picture when they were coming close and some of Kairi's comments about how they were a little too close too often. |
65 | + | |
66 | Due to her healing wounds, she was unable to stop her corporal as he used his ODST suit and a stolen Covenant "antigravity pack" jet pack to jump out of one of the freighter's airlocks into space, going from one ship to the other mid-flight before they warped to an entirely different planet in a slipspace vortex. Azumi never truly found out the whole story of that, but knew that Anders was shot, Greg lost his weapons aside from one pistol, and the Covenant had been alerted due to...something the corporal had done.
67 | - | Due to the arrival of many future characters, some villains couldn't be kept from coming along. When Phantom, the future of Ron Rivers, resurrected Isaac "Reaper" Zivaku and reassembled a villainous trio of himself, a corrupted Jessica "Elena" Mireu, a war of Interferences known as the War of Heaven and Hell took place. Many worlds fell to the grasp of "Omega," as the villains called themselves. While trying to defend Twilight Town from a corrupted Demi known as Diana, both Greg and Kyn were forced into a portal through time from a device known as the Chronos Pathway, the same type of device that had caused these futures to come in the first place. They came to a horrible future, on where the villains had won, eliminating the heroic resistance to their conquests. After a run-in with the children of Reaper and Diana, the two allied themselves with a newer resistance movement that did not trust them at all despite the advocacy of Kaith's old artificial intelligence program known as "Kira." Together, the group attacks the central tower that is the capital of this world run by Reaper, the world known as Valhalla, trying to shut down the world for a time with a very powerful Covenant explosive. All resistance members die in the assault or shortly after it, but Greg and Kyn were given knowledge on how to defeat Omega by Kaith of this time, a bodyguard of Diana's children as well as being her personal assassin. On the way, they met with various other temporally displaced people, including Isaac (who had been redeemed and a part of the heroic movement in the present, though still mistrusted by Greg) and others. The bomb destroyed the entire world due to the re-placement by Kaith of this time, and they returned to the present once more. Upon their return, the heroes used their new knowledge to end the war for good. Both Sora and Greg were killed over the course of the events before the ending of the battles, the latter causing Kynthia to go completely berserk and, along with a redeemed Demi, annihilate a vast majority of the insanely large amount of enemies in the opposing army. In the end of the war, thanks to the cunning use of a time manipulation ability, Reaper was erased from the time stream entirely, leaving only the good Isaac. With this erasure came the erasure of the entire war that he had organized, reviving those who had died in the process. As a celebration for their victory, Greg asked Kynthia out on a date, which she accepted, though not knowing fully what a "date" was. In accordance with Kaith's request to Alexander Karsath's future Ephiram upon knowing that Demi, who had become pregnant with either his own or Reaper's child, still was pregnant, the futures were sent home to their better future without at least some of these villains, Elena the only survivor, and redeemed by proxy through Reaper's demise. |
67 | + | |
68 | Not long after they landed and began securing the area, James came by with the crazed Private Jack Chambers and several stowaways from Arcadia. Amongst them was Kynthia Usagi herself, slightly older than her picture would make one assume. Others included Hawk Shadowflash, with his enormous sword; Kratos Aurion, with his own plasma-resistance blade; Jasmine, with her chakrams, red eyes, white hair, and butterfly antennae and wings; Audrey Jones, with her raven wings and sword; Louis Delgado, having a plethora of weapons and a...second K1-R4 for some reason. The group met up with Greg, Sergeant John Forge, Professor Anders, and a man named Alex Mercer, and returned to their base without the sergeant or strange man, who went off to fight more after they broke Chambers' leg for attacking the refugees in a crazed, racist rage.
69 | - | Over the course of the date, Greg became ill, developing two separate diseases from his Cruxis Crystal simultaneously, both Angel Toxicosis and Chronic Angelus Crystallus Inofficium, the latter also known as "Martel's Disease". Lukgar escaped his body at one point as he developed a Pact with the Sylvaranti Summon Spirit of Light known as Aska (with Kynthia taking his partner, Luna). In the case of Greg, his unspoken Summoner's Oath was to protect Kynthia, and never to betray her for any reason nor in any way. While Luna became a surrogate mother for Kynthia, Aska became a mentor of sorts for Greg, though not truly doing much to help initially. During this adventure, Greg also met his father once more, a resident of the Underworld of Olympus Coliseum alongside Kitsumi (who dispersed soon after). Eventually, Lukgar was revealed as having escaped, trying to turn Greg into a true, emotionless angel. He was sealed within Greg's Cruxis Crystal, which had been cured of the sicknesses through the use of a "Rune Crest" inhibitor, never to be able to escape again. However, as he revealed to Akyra, the counterpart of Audrey, he (or rather, it, as the gender was not truly static due to his ability to shapeshift into the form of any angel) just wanted to be allowed to die after at least eight thousand years of life in various hosts. |

70 | The group gave a tour of their base on this world, this "Shield World," but they all attacked Greg in their sleeping quarters when he was revealed to be their commander. Azumi almost shot them for the assault, but Greg ordered her to leave. The tone, cold and demanding, upset her enough to walk out of the room in a rage, telling him she was just concerned. She truly walked away from the door when he shouted at her one more time from beyond to get away. She came back an hour later, however, still concerned for his well-being after hearing from James about Louis' mysterious disappearance in a miniature slipspace rupture that made him cease to exist. She was horrified to see them all unconscious, unable to be awakened by her shakes, and so she came to Tyler, ordering that he help them come back to consciousness and staying right behind him until he would finish his work.
71 | - | His sickness gone, Greg and Kynthia returned to her homeworld of Nippon. However, due to a surprise Heartless attack, they crash landed on the world, separated. His sanity slipping very quickly, the angel went with several others through the events of Kynthia's life, meeting her deceased mother Konane and being forced to stand by and allow her to die in order to keep Kynthia's life in order, to keep her from changing in the present. Throughout this adventure, he became progressively more violent and prone to anger, lashing out at his friends (and other Interferences in the vicinity) who came along with him until they finally reunited with Yumigami's daughter. |

72 | Two hours of trying went by, each of the women moved to a bed and the men aside from Greg moved to the walls. He was leaning against Kynthia's bed. They all talked about how they were "back" from something, and Greg did something she never saw before. He laughed, showing geniune positive emotion for the first time she had ever seen. Enraged that he would laugh after worrying her sick, she punched him, storming out after asking that Audrey and Jasmine come to help with the Elephants.
73 | - | Eventually, his growing madness led to the greatest mistakes of his life. In his desire to "protect" Kynthia, Greg murdered a new Interference from the world of Fable II who called himself "Noah Saar" to keep her safe, then Samuel Dolor and finally his own brother for fear of losing her love to her dark side. Each of these deaths were with the victims' own weapons, making them akin to the acts of a serial killer. His beloved demigoddess was disgusted with his actions, and left him, not trusting him to be sane in his obsession over her. Driven into the depths of depression, the insanity only grew worse as he continued alone, heartbroken and lacking any true desires but a quest for suicidal redemption in her eyes. |

74 | With the Elephants, she asked Audrey and Jasmine to check the restraints holding the FTL drive, their only way home, to one of the Behemoth-class carriers. The plan was to bring it to that station Zulu and Anders had seen, the Apex, and use a shuttle there to bring the drive up to the sun above. The chain reaction would kill the driver, but also obliterate the planet, destroying a portion of this fleet and the Forerunner ships that Regret and the Arbiter hoped to deconstruct and replicate. She talked with Audrey and Jasmine, who told her about the Interference phenomenon. Though initially skeptical, all of their statements about Greg rang true. She told no others, only partly believing this talk of "game universes" herself. During that talk, she accidentally revealed her feelings for Greg, but ordered that the two of them never say a word about it.
75 | - | The breakup destroyed him. Rather than judge the deaths as murder, evil for that reason, he only believed what he did was wrong because she disapproved of it. Using the time-traveling Chronos Pathway, he moved from world to world, time to time, trying to reach a heroic death that she would hear about in order to seek redemption through his death in her eyes.. Among the games he visited were Prototype near its conclusion, Albion before the first Fable at the use of the Spire by the last Archon, the conclusion of BioShock (going off of the topic "Welcome to Rapture", not the new one, though the time travel is the only reason that secondary timeline exists), First Encounter Assault Recon, Dead Space Extraction, Silent Hill 4: The Room, and almost the Omega-4 relay in the universe of Mass Effect 2 on his own without the Reaper IFF module used in Mass Effect 2. Only the last one was stopped by Kira herself, as it was not heroic at all, and merely suicidal. Also during this time, Greg received a great many scars, including having his left ring finger cut off in the construction of a weapon specifically for Kynthia. He tried to put together a proposal to her, too far into the depths of his madness to see that she would not return to him, let alone stay with him in that way, in his current state. During this period, Aska rejected his summons, recognizing his broken Pact for what it was, and Lukgar Revak stopped speaking to him, taking away all of his angelic powers including the ability to fly. |
75 | + | |
76 | Before they left for the plan, Greg brought the group together for a speech. He told about how he was never cut out to be a corporal, never to be a soldier or even a hero. That he had done his share of deeds and paid the price again and again, lost his friends and allies, lost his love. That he hoped that he could one day make it up to them all, but that it would be best if they found someone else to lead, like Azumi. As a result, she simply gave him his guns after the other two just looked to her, telling him to shut his mouth and lead them to the end of this, to which he smiled and agreed.
77 | - | Eventually, after approximately four years, around seven years since he began Interfering at the age of fifteen, the angel came to the time of Halo Wars, approximately twenty years prior to his previous visit to the Haloverse in the time of Halo 2. Joining the elite Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, he rose in the ranks due to his "bravery," gathering a four-soldier team of troopers as a Corporal in time. The team, composed of a sniper/medic named Private Tyler Vesely, an engineer named Private James Anchors, and a right-hand-woman and secondary sharpshooter named Lance Corporal Azumi Ian, tried to get close to him, to learn about his history, but he lied about everything he said, never showing any true emotion except when in relation to the demigoddess he loved. When near the end of the game, he came across shocking sights. Kira, who had come from one year in his future, had brought back a group of Interferences, composed of many including Kynthia herself. In time, the group found out his identity as the elusive "Corporal Zulu," and shouted about his insane actions until Lukgar took charge. Dragging the group into Greg's mind, he sent them through a multitude of areas, thought to be residual memories of some sort, before finally revealing Greg's insanity and the true reason behind his actions for so long. |
77 | + | |
78 | The fight to the launch site, the Battle of the Apex, was very costly for the remaining UNSC forces, especially for Fireteam Kilo. Tyler Vesely was the first to die, his message to the rest of the team saying how he expected to be the first, as the "funny guy," and had not expected to survive his defense of their rear position with the one sniper he had, even though he had taken out many of them before running out of ammunition. James Anchors died as he dove to save Kynthia Usagi from a spray of Needler fire, the plasma melting his chest cavity. His last words told how he had always known Greg had never been to Luna, and that he asked Greg to take care of Kynthia and Azumi herself, since he would not be able to care for his own beau, Federica back on Mars. Her two closest friends, even if one was a jerk. Dead, dead like those from Jericho VII who may have died in the SPARTAN invasion when she wasn't watching it in wonder five years prior, even if she did not drop off contact with her friends and to an extent her family when leaving her homeworld.
79 | - | Due to his method of destroying his Abomination in Dirge, Greg was infected with his Jealousy, which gradually increased his envy for others as well as his anger. Due to his actions, he sorrow was also present, all of these negative emotions feeding the monstrosity and giving it strength that it had wanted back in Dirge. Greg had been giving it strength, and now it wanted to unlock the Abominations within those he brought with him, using more Greg-clones to help to do that when they came into a psychic representation of the courtyard outside of the Temple of the Spirit Monks from that world. However, due to his talk with Lukgar, the angel knew what to do this time. After some time, he finally stopped fighting. Jealousy had not truly attacked him fatally at all, just trying to egg him on, to make his hate overcome him to fully replace his fatigue so he could take control of his body, leaving the true owner here forever as the others were also awakened as their sins' selves. Rather than continue to fight, Greg simply stopped and walked away, allowing himself to finally be at peace and change rather than allowing himself to remain corrupted in this way. And so, he walked away with his friends and allies, leaving Jealousy behind, alone, afraid, and shouting into oblivion forevermore, in his body but away from his soul, tormented within him by the power of Lukgar Revak in his solitude. |
79 | + | |
80 | With the leader of the Covenant on this world, the Prophet of Regret, intent on capturing Greg in order to find out what he knows and the origins of his weapons, an extraordinarily large force attacked the top of the Apex once they had reached it and begun to set up the FTL drive. The immensely powerful Ripa 'Moramee came as well, Greg challenging him to a sword duel despite his strange capabilities. Only with the aid of both Kynthia Usagi and another Interference who knew Greg known as Alex Mercer saved the young man's life, killing the Arbiter. As this went on, including a portion during which Kynthia was aiding them instead, Azumi joined the other Interferences, Red Team, and the remaining Marines in fighting off the force coming for them. The Interferences used the truly awesome extent of their abilities in this endeavor, completely obliterating the opposition without much trouble at all.
81 | - | Upon awakening, Greg decided to finally take responsibility for his actions in the past, leading his Fireteam Kilo one last time against the forces of the Covenant one of the last levels of the game, with his powers restored by Lukgar as a reward for his victory over Jealousy. Due to a failed assassination attempt against the leader of this force, the High Prophet of Regret, the forces were many times as large as they should have been, with reinforcements from the Covenant as well as Heartless who used the new opening into the Haloverse made by the more recent Interferences, resulting in the deaths of two out of his three team members before the battle was done. Furthermore, Lukgar Revak sacrificed himself in the duel boss battle that took place concurrently, the Cruxis Crystal shattering. As he died, Revak told Greg that he needed to destroy his body to keep Jealousy from truly controlling him ever again. |
81 | + | |
82 | In his duel, Greg had been wounded, his hand bloody. He was breaking down crying at the edge of the Apex for the first time she had ever seen him do so when Azumi softly requested that Kynthia comfort him in his time of need, which she complied with. There was a brief moment of romance, one that depressed her even further, before he stood, going to John Forge, who was talking with the Red Team SPARTANs about how he would sacrifice himself for the plan. When the younger soldier knocked him unconscious, the three super soldiers opened fire on him, wounding him before Azumi stepped between the seven-foot-tall shooters and her commander. She stood there as protection with her arms out, telling them they would have to shoot her before they killed him, or they could let him live to save them all, bringing the unconscious Forge to safety.
83 | - | After learning of this, the elder son of Sain Zivaku knew that he needed to finish his work once and for all. Though it pained him, he lied to the woman he loved, saying he would come back to her before knowingly flying a space shuttle up to the sun of this world for the good of all, to kill Jealousy forever for the good of his friends and the worlds as a whole. In doing so, he obliterated the Shield World entirely. But in doing so, he finally reached peace, putting the blame for the horror and death he had caused in the proper perspective. |
83 | + | |
84 | All three of them complied, taking the sergeant away as Azumi helped Greg to his feet, hugging him as a confession of her love. Still, she was heartbroken, though understanding, when he quietly rejected her advances, saying he did not feel the same, but giving his position as a Corporal to her, his badge as one, saying she deserved a unit a lot more than he ever had. Then he walked into the ship, limping and leaving a trail of blood as he closed the door. And that was the end of it, as far as she knew. She loved him, he didn't love her, and he was going off to commit suicide to save them. Why did he always have to be the hero?
85 | - | As his friends learned weeks later, he was not only dead, having lied, but also had left a will, recorded on his way up to his demise. To Audrey Jones, he had left his small store of combat knives from his time in the United Nations Space Command. To Hawk Shadowflash, Isaac's Blood Sword, the last remnant of his existence outside of memory, a health-draining serrated sword to remind of the worst times, but also with memory of the better ones as well. To Kynthia Usagi, he left his apology for his lie, his explanation for everything he had done in his life, and hoped that she would find love and whatever else she could have her own way. Furthermore, he left to her everything he had. The Redemption, K1-R4, his weapons storage aside from the knives, and his potions. Everything he owned, he bestowed upon her with his best wishes. He also left a customized weapon of his own make. The "Kami," a scoped, handheld crossbow that could be sized down to be handheld, with a curved blade that came out of the side of the weapon. A weapon built from scratch specifically for her, and one that could only be used by her with his broken Cruxis crystal permanently fused to it, its ammunition her own Moon magic. And that, as far as he knew, was that. |
85 | + | |
86 | Many more temporal ripples, like the one that had taken Delgado, came into being not long after the shuttle launched, the remaining Interferences entering them as the Marines were leaving, only her as a witness to the event. Through a nerve-wracking escape, Azumi and the remaining Marines and SPARTANs managed to leave the detonating Shield World behind, though their lack of an FTL drive left them unable to return to a human settlement, lost and drifting. The young woman went into cryosleep sadly, crying herself into a drug-induced slumber. Again due to that battle, she was friendless and loveless. Her sacrifices, along with those of all others in this Pyrrhic campaign, would never be known due to their lack of appropriate hardware, and could easily be written off in one way or another by the propaganda wing of the human Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). Silently, she hoped that she would never awaken again, her life purposeless beneath her hardened shell.
87 | - | Not so, as it would happen. Through recent events involving the influence of Martel herself, Kynthia, and others, he has finally been revived, albeit without the majority of his skills. Perhaps this time, he can make things right and stay above the influence of his envy and rage. |
87 | + | |
88 | Unfortunately for her, one last temporal rupture within her pod would not allow this. She had learned the ways of the Interferences, but perhaps now it was her time to help in her own way. |
