There is a religion on the moon that believes that there is a solution to mortality and ignorance on the planet somewhere. Most who participate in this religion believe the "afterlife" to actually be a hell of sorts, a place that is further from divinity than the moon. They believe that spending time there will deteriate the quality of your soul, ultimately making it harder for you to find truth. Followers recognise a divine being who created the universe, but they don't attribute a name, desires, or laws to it, and they don't believe it to be any more important that anyone else, in fact, it could just be a human who found truth. This god isn't worshipped, but is highly regarded.

Another figure that is highly regarded is one of the followers of the religion, often seen as a leader. He rejected the afterlife so vehemently that instead of accepting his death, he bound his soul to an inanimate artifact. That was seventy-two years ago, and his soul has since been restored to a body. He claims that his time imprissoned only enlightened him further. As a response to this, some followers have gone to the extreme of binding their souls to stasis chambers, that not only keep a soul in place, but also are almost void of all energy and magic. There, they hope to obtain the truth.

The primary goal of followers is to discover the secrets to the creation of the universe. If they can do that, they believe that they can bridge this world with the divine and obtain truth and immortality.

Another religion is a group of people that believe that the human body is weak, and that any part that isn't necessary to survival should be replaced. People who belong to this religion will often get prosthetic limbs, and even add parts to their body that don't belong to humans. This group is invested very strongly in both science and magic, since both are seen as tools to sculpt the human body into something less parishable. Some people of this religion have bound their souls to golems, but the ultimate goal of a follower would be to replace every part of the human body except for the brain, with an artificial counterpart. This has never been done before, quite a few of the bodies organs have yet to be replicated, and the operations would be very dangerous.

This religion has conflicting interests with the government. They will often use the black market to obtain metals and weapondry that they shouldn't have access to. Academia sees their "contributions" to science as mostly wasteless hobbyism. Certain members of the religion are violent terrorists, who believe that the systems in place should be disregarded and that people should revert back to a survival of the fitist mentality. They feel like they must assert their power over weaker bodies.

This religion is most widely embraced in a medium sized city that is off in the middle of the countryside. Here most people learn basic mechanics before they hit puberty, and sometimes children even have artifacial parts grafted onto them, something that is an extreme taboo anywhere else in the world. In this city there is a large enthusiams for experimental attachments, and making prosthetics is just as much of an art as it is a science.

The Wraths are a cult who's members practice in secrecy. The Wraths are only interested in power and dominance, and will go to any lengths to get it. Some are soul collectors, who sacrifice other life in order to imprison their souls in amulets that they believe to give them power. Others go to great lengths to steal scrolls and pillage ancient ruins, to make sure that they can learn powerful sorcery and slow those who wish to oppose them. Yet others have made attempts to master chemistry and toxicology.
