 17:20	DMoppler	It is... most likely nighttime at the S-Men academy, but at the other side of the planet near the massive fort of Babylon its the dawn of a new day. After the battle of the night before Reverb found herself taken in by an agent of the vatican, shielded from the patrols of the symbiotic creatures and the watchful eye of Hubris. [1/2]
 17:22	DMoppler	Reverb finds herself in the abandoned town not too far off from the enormous station, resting in a makeshift bed when the sun finally rises. The first thing she notices is the temperature. It was insanely hot the day before no matter where you went, but inside the shack it feels strangely air conditioned despite signs of any change.
 17:24		Reverb groans as she awakens, clutching futilely at the air in an attempt to sit up. "Fuck, where am I..." she said to herself, managing to open her eyes enough to make out some blurry surroundings.
 17:27	DMoppler	The room looks like it was put together as some kind of camp. There's even a small kettle sitting over what seems to be a small firepit in the center of the room while supplies lean against the walls. Beside her she sees medicinal equipment as well, indicating that she may have been tended to in her sleep. The feeling of bandages across her body confirm it.
 17:28	DMoppler	Her jacket and scarf are hung up on a rack, looking as if they've been repaired back into good condition after the scorching and tearing they received from Wrath.
 17:28	Reverb	"...Either I'm very lucky or I'm gonna be murdered very soon."
 17:30	DMoppler	The stinging she still feels seems to accentuate just how badly the hyperheated steam got to her, the vampiric regeneration apparently needing to be aided by conventional healing to keep her going. The light coming in from outside is slightly blinding at first glance from her condition, but soon enough she can see just fine.
 17:31	DMoppler	There seems to be... some kind of small wall of ice put up around the town. It doesn't seem to be melting either. The frozen husks of invading Babylonian beasts line the outsides of the camp as well.
 17:32	DMoppler	There's a light humming outside reminiscent of the boy from the night before.
 17:36		Reverb sighs, grunting and bringing both her feet onto the ground. "God damn, fucker bust me up more than I realized." she growled, eager to get moving once again. With a quick push off of the bed, she was standing once more, groaning and stretching to get the feeling back in her limbs.
 17:39	DMoppler	The local radio signals that aren't blocked by the constant white noise of the symbiotes finally come through, mostly military chatter detailing multiple widespread attacks around the region.

 17:44		Reverb takes a few tentative steps forward, adjusting to the white noise being replaced with actual words and conversation. She snatched her scarf on the way out, bunching it around her head like a keffiyeh.
 17:47	DMoppler	Outside the nice temperature that she felt inside the hut is replaced by the blazing heat of the desert sun. The altar boy is nowhere to be found at first glance, but following the sound of the humming turns out he was meditating on top of the hut itself. "Ah, buongiorno! Up already I see" Ronald greets merrily as he opens his eyes.
 17:51	Reverb	"Oh, you, the... Ronald, right?" Reverb asked, covering her eyes and muttering curses at the sun. She took a few steps out into the sand, turning and facing Ronald to get a better look at him.
 17:55	DMoppler	The boy was no older than she was, dressed in a formal ceremonial garb that looked painful to wear in such heat but didn't seem to affect him. "Right on the money, Kat" he replies, for a moment the faint outline of some large... thing reminiscent of the strange sight he invoked before appears behind him
 17:59	Reverb	"Huh, well then. I guess I owe you some thanks for saving me." Kat said with a sigh, looking around the desert. "Admittedly, a bit weird to take such a vested interest in someone but, I can't complain, since my internal organs are missing."
 18:02	DMoppler	"Well, from what I can tell you're out here to stop that" he gestures to the outline of the structure in the distance "...so you clearly aren't my enemy, and you were in need. I had to help". He steps down from atop the hut slowly as if he weighed as a feather.
 18:03	DMoppler	"I am curious what your specific intentions are, though, if you don't mind"

 18:06	Reverb	"That's easy enough to explain. My friend's been taken by the bastards in that dome. So, I'm here to take him back, and beat the shit outta anyone who might pose a problem." Kat said with a simple shrug, examining the frozen creatures surrounding her. "Though I suppose on some level I should count myself lucky I wasn't going against you, if this is...

 18:09	DMoppler	"Oh, I'm a pacifist" he chuckles as if its obvious. "I am merely here to investigate and observe. All of this is the work of my associate"

 18:11	DMoppler	"I act as his eyes and judgement here. Were it up to him you wouldn't have been so lucky to have found me when I found the... fangs" he tries to word it as nonthreateningly as possible, comes off as awkward
 18:11	DMoppler	"Your cause is just, so I do not regret making the decision I did. I sympathize with your plight"
 18:14	Reverb	"Fair enough. And, uh, don't worry, I don't drink people or anything. It's weird, I don't think about it too much." Kat shrugs, stretching some more. "So, mind if I get some more details on your buddy here?"
 18:17	DMoppler	"A messenger on earth, Kat" he sits down around the small kettle above the firepit, a fire lights up underneath it. "Truthfully I know very little, he doesn't speak. I am told my close ties to the mutant breed allowed him to manifest through the latent powers"
 18:17	DMoppler	"But I am doubtless that it is from above"
 18:19	DMoppler	"Quite the strange case of a guardian angel. As such my studies in ministry have been postponed to do work for our people"

 18:22	Reverb	"Hmm... interesting." Kat said with a look at the figure. "So, what's your job here? When you say observation, that's fairly vague." she asked, looking at Ronald with a slight frown, standing with her arms crossed.
 18:26	DMoppler	"My primary goal is to find out just what is going on here and report back to my commander. Assessing the situation and intervening if I see it fit..... Would you happen to know something about this? You said your friend was captured by them" he drops his formalities to sound quizzical
 18:31	Reverb	"Them, well. It's one... thing. Some kind of miserable parasite. Feeds on pride, and now there are others that feed on other emotions." Kat said, adjusting her headphones to listen in on conversations better. "I don't know much beyond that."
 18:33	DMoppler	"That's far more than I knew coming in. Thank you"
 18:33	Reverb	"...that pink bastard is mine, though. Do what you wish with the others."
 18:34	DMoppler	"I wouldn't advise blind revenge, but I do agree you have a right to deal with that one in particular" Ronald nods gently, looking up to her. "...What's your plan on dealing with him?"
 18:35	Reverb	"I need to work out something to deal with him. My last fight he managed to get the jump on me. This time this isn't happening."
 18:37	DMoppler	"I wasn't able to catch much, but I remember seeing it expel heat from itself out of that armored carapace of his. Perhaps its there to keep whatever is generating that heat contained" the boy says as he pours tea out from the kettle into a small cup, handing it to her
 18:40	Reverb	"I guess so. Guess I can plug the holes and let him boil... but that isn't satisfying. I just get so worked up thinking about it..." she growls, grabbing the cup and downing it in one go.
 18:44	DMoppler	Ronald looks worried with her anger, sipping his own tea gently. "You'll get your moment to get him, I'm certain. I'll... do everything in my power to make sure that your friend is recovered and unharmed by your side, if it soothes you. Now is the time to rest and plan"
 18:45	Reverb	"Well, we... happen to have a guy on the inside, which is convenient."
 18:45	DMoppler	"You do?" he blinks
 18:47	Reverb	"Yeah, he's a close friend of the one possessed. He's there on the inside, doing... fuck knows what he's doing, actually."
 18:48	DMoppler	"Hopefully making our job easier"

 18:50	DMoppler	"...How are you feeling, anyway? I noticed you're already spry as ever even after a battle that would have left most dead" the altar boy stands up, gently taking her arm to inspect one of the bandages. It lightly stings, but when he takes it off the wound itself has mostly healed itself.
 18:56	Reverb	"Well, there's some stinging, but I feel fine. Good as almost new." Kat said, wriggling her arms a little to show that they were working. "I'll probably need a bit more time to 100% heal up, but it's all good here."
 19:00	DMoppler	"Bene" he mutters happily. "Feel free to make yourself at home here. I uncovered a small cave spring on the other side of the town as you were sleeping if it interests you. If you'd like I did manage to scout out a few opportunities to weaken the monsters' control over the region, though I doubt their safety"
 19:01	DMoppler	"Rest is probably the best option from my point of view anywa- Oh! I must ask. That insider, do you have any way to contact him?"
 19:04	Reverb	"...Right, uh, I do believe so. I know she gave me something that does that..." Kat muttered, digging around her pockets. "I know for sure we do, gimme a second..."

 19:12	Reverb	"Right, got it. With this I can contact the insider, but for now I'm staying low. Letting them think I'm done for, I suppose."
 19:14	DMoppler	"That seems fair enough" The boy sits back down, a pillar of ice rises out of the ground beside him before the top fans out and creates an umbrella to block the sun from assaulting them so much. "Apologies for feeding my curiosity more, but just where are you and your friends from?"
 19:18	Reverb	"...America. You probably know of a school dedicated to mutants." Kat said bluntly, tapping at the ice with a curious glance.
 19:20	DMoppler	The ice is solid and frighteningly cold to the touch, once would expect to catch some kind of frostbite from it if it didn't seem like the cold dissipated a moment afterward. Could probably be shattered just as easy as normal ice but doesn't seem to melt. "The Belingur academy?"
 19:21	Reverb	"Yeah, that's the place. Me, the insider and the guy possessed with the bug all come from there."
 19:22	DMoppler	"I was actually going to be stationed as an investigator there before this situation propped up. If it is as you say then I doubt its a threat to the peace"
 19:22	DMoppler	"You seem to be a nice enough sort"
 19:25	Reverb	"Others in that school are nicer. Either way, I guess the school is okay. We haven't been attacked in a while, so that's good too."
 19:25	Reverb	"Until this whole thing, it's been peaceful."
 19:28	DMoppler	"I wouldn't underestimate yourself, despite your little temper. You have good in you. And this just means its more imperative to end this madness to bring back that peace"
 19:30	Reverb	"Eloquent way of putting it. So, what's your suggestion then, altar boy?"
 19:33	DMoppler	"They're attempting to secure military bases and towns in the surrounding area to make sure there's a large blockade to get through to reach the center. Its a simple gambit. Intercept squads on their way while they think you are dead, focus their attention on a manhunt instead of expanding their influence"
 19:34	DMoppler	"Get them frustrated and tunnel visioned. Then it will be easy to blindside them and get the jump, with the help of those from your academy I'd assume"
 19:35	Reverb	"So, good old-fashioned guerrilla attacks, right?"
 19:36	DMoppler	"Precisely. After each I'd suggest coming back here. They are already aware of my whereabouts and seem to believe I'm merely out to defend myself, not intervene."
 19:37	DMoppler	"Soon enough they'll be searching for you feverishly rather than focusing on their global and local fronts. If my information is right your 's-men' should have an easier time and be able to come in for a final attack" he sips his tea as he speaks. The boy seems to be good at tactics for a self proclaimed pacifist.
 19:40	Reverb	"Well then, someone's been reading up on their Sun Tzus and Napoleons." Kat commented, slipping off her scarf and adjusting it into a quick belt. "Alright, so, what'll I need to get started?"
 19:44	DMoppler	"I think you might be the best judge of that" he taps one of his ears innocently. True enough there's still the military comm chatter detailing the different battles going on in the near area. "It might be wise to get yourself ready before you head out, give you more time to reach your full health so you don't go in strained"
 19:45	Reverb	"Sounds easy enough. Got a map of the area handy?"
 19:45	DMoppler	Ronald fishes around in a bag then finally takes out a map as well as a sharpie then hands it to her.
 19:46	Reverb	"Right, then all I need are some supplies to keep me going, and that'll be it."
 19:48	DMoppler	"Of course" one of the bags seems to float out of the hut as if its carried by an invisible hand and given to her. Inside is a radio, a few bottles of water, a few bars of thankfully unmelted chocolate, a small revolver, a pair of binoculars, an umbrella, and a small medical kit.
 19:49	DMoppler	"If you need anything else I can see if I have it"
 19:50	Reverb	"This does the trick just fine, thanks."
 19:51	Reverb	"Now then, following the chatter... there are two bases north of here, I believe. A quick hit and run there should distract them."
 19:52	DMoppler	"Its in your hands now, Kat. I'll leave you to your planning. If you need to contact me I have a radio of my own, a bit fuzzy in the interference but it'll do the trick" Ronald steps up as he smiles.
 19:54	DMoppler	"I'll go investigate the spring some more. Might be the first proper wash since I got out in this wasteland" the altar boy chuckles as he turns, about to walk away. He then looks back to her with sincere eyes. "...Good luck out there. We'll get your friends back soon"
 19:56	Reverb	"...thanks, Ronald. I appreciate the help."
 19:57	DMoppler	He smiles and lets out a pleased sigh before making his way to the cave. True to her listening, there's two bases to the north that will likely be hit in the near future.

 19:59		Reverb sighs, adjusting the bag and tightening the shoulder strap, letting it cling to her body far better. "Alright, let's see... following the wind..." she trailed off, turning to the right and taking a step in that direction.
