 BACKGROUND ┆ born and raised in yokohama, japan, isanami's childhood was a nice one. her parents were very doting and caring, albeit a bit busy, yet somehow always managed to make time for her and her brother. despite this, before she was even a year old, there was an irrefutable bond between the two siblings. her brother, akihito, was her biggest role model, and she always looked up to him no matter what. when he joined the swimming team at his high school and led them to nationals as the captain, earning many gold medals in the process, she decided she wanted to be a swimmer too. ever since then, her brother taught her the proper techniques, and she trained as hard as she could, actually finding that she enjoyed swimming.

 PERSONALITY ┆ the most gentle person you will ever meet, its easy to see why isanami was made captain of the swim team. she has a sort of power over the team and honestly anyone in general, one that nobody would understand unless they actually knew her. she's the very definition of calm and collected, and never has to raise her voice to get their attention. there's an air about her that can be hard to understand -- it's something reminiscent of confidence, but much more subtle, to the point where it intimidates people in a way that confidence can't. however, isanami hates the notion of people being scared of her, and as a result always wears a soft and welcoming smile on her face. she's not necessarily outgoing, but she can make friends quicker than one could snap their fingers because of her friendly and motherly persona. generally speaking, its really hard to get her mad in any shape or form, but when she's on edge, which usually happens because of her excess amount of anxiety, she can blow (harder than lu's flute iM SORRY) a fuse really fast. most wouldn't be able to guess, but isanami is the type who when she gets angry, she gets REALLY angry -- like full on bitch. she's not pleasant at all when she's like that, but luckily most of her friends haven't experienced her at that state, and if they have, the anger has never been directed towards them. most times, she can be seen rolling her eyes and being "annoyed" with the team members little antics, but they all know just as well as she does that she loves them, weird frolics and all. additionally, she might seem like more than a beast when angered, but in actuality, she's scared of anything and everything. practically like the asahi of the team (from haikyuu u feel) it's almost amusing to see someone so tall practically crying at the thought of something as simple as bugs.

 FIRST MEETING ┆ after moving to seoul and finding out that her cousin, mirase, attended a school nearby, isanami went to visit, but when she got there, her cousin was still in class. she had heard about the impressive library the school had and decided that she might as well take advantage of her time there, and she went to check it out. while she was there, checking out the books, she had stumbled upon her favorite book series -- harry potter. naturally, she picked it up and proceeded to bury her nose in it despite having read it so many times she could probably recite it back to front. somehow (she wasn't sure tbh) jungkook, who had been passing by with one of his hyungs (probs namjoon that fucking dweeb), hadn't noticed her at all, despite her being exTREMELY tall, and complained to him about how much he hated reading. namjoon proceeded to say to him, "maybe after you read something, say harry potter, you won't anymore." and this idiot responded with a scoff, "harry potter? as if those stupid books could ever make anyone want to read. in fact, i think they'd do the opposite." and isanami isn't the type to get angry, she swears, but if you insult her favorite book in front of her, you know she isn't gonna sit by and let it happen. naturally, she lowered the book from her face and gave him an icy, chilling glare that made him want to shit his pants. two years later and their relationship isn't any better.

 - beg ; at first she's just rlly offended and decides to try and play it cool, being the "older and more mature" person, but there's something about him and his feigned innocence that reALLY pushes at isanami's buttons, and pretty quickly, actually, she ends up expLODING and yelling at him. the beginning of their relationship is a really big mess, to be honest, and all she does it roll her eyes, shout obscene words that nobody would imagine coming out of her mouth at him, and chasing him around with sharp objects (or if nothing else was at hand, her shoe.) the fact that he seemed perfect at eveRYTHING only served to fuel her supposed hatred. she's always angry around him, and as a result, scarier than one could imagine.
 - mid ; after getting to know him even more, she realizes he's even more of a little (or big if u feel me) shit which just makes her want to, well, murder him. however, she's seen sides of him that she never would have imagined he had -- like how he's really just a giant meme and never means to do any harm, and he's a fluffball. she still holds what she thinks is "hate" for him, only WAY less intense, and by now she's stopped the name calling. unfortunately, she still makes a habit of chasing him around and threatening him.
 - end ; the fact that she had feelings for him hit her like a trainwreck, and the first time she even thought of that, she choked thinking about it. but as she thought about it more and more, she realizes there was no way she didn't like him, and the fact that he was the only thing she could think about every waking moment annoyed the hell out of her -- how was she going to be able to compete when all that was on her mind was his magnificent chest and sinfully attractive arms and thighs? so, she decided that the best way to resolve the issue was to rip it off like a bandaid -- and rip it off, she did.

 - beg ; to be honest, it was probably isanami who ignited his fear of girls. from the moment he had fallen victim to her frozen gaze, he was petrified, and when his friends described her, he couldn't believe that they were talking about the same girl -- because there was no way someone that scary looking could be nice. it wasn't so much hate as fear on his part, and as she would chase him, he would run. at first he was truly afraid for his life, but as he started to observe her, he realizes she couldn't hurt a fly, he started to take advantage of her "anger."
 - mid ; by now, his favorite past time is "annoy isa" time. he purposely riles her up (and all he can think is damn, she looks hot when she's angry) and laughs as she chases him around, creating so many creative threats that he was surprised she chose the swimming club over the literature one. at this point, he's almost completely sure that he likes isanami, but he doesn't want to say anything because god knows if he confessed, she'd actually murder him. rather, he indulges in the "quality time" they spend together, and always gets happy when she teases him because it makes him feel as if they're more than rivals.
 - end ; he noticed almost instantly that isanami was acting weirdly, just as everyone else did. she was avoiding his team altogether, missing out on the most opportune times to insult him, and it just wasn't what they were used to. when faced with him or his friends, she would avoid eye contact and a rosy blush would make its way onto her face before one of her friends would steal her away, doing something to distract them -- but he wasn't so easily fooled. he was dying to know what was wrong, and he certainly wasn't prepared when she shoved him into a tool shed and proceeded to make out with him (not that he was complaining.)
