+Areum was found behind a dustbin in Busan by her adopted father, Lee Taewoon. She spent most of her childhood years in Busan where her father was a surgeon in his small hospital. Because she had not known about her actual birth, she trusted her father and older brothers a lot. They moved to Seoul when she was 10 when her father was offered a job in one of the most prestigious hospitals in Seoul to work as a head neurosurgeon. When she moved to Seoul was when she became friends with Park Jimin who was her next door neighbour and Kwon Haru who was her classmate. Areum found out about her actual birth when she was 16; her oldest bother told her. She was so distraught and betrayed that she didn't talk to them for almost a month but she needed their help to find out about her birth. After spending almost 2 months looking through files and cases revolving her, she found out that he mum died a few days after she was found ( she killed herself because she didn't have enough money to look after herself or Areum.
