Chapter one part one
2
3
Con was pacing around and tapping her foot impatiently, sighing as she waited for the agents coming to pick her up to actually show. They had called her earlier that morning using a special device known as whispers -- a unique tool people like her were allowed to use, freely without a second thought. But normal mice, on the other hand, had to work for a long time in order to earn enough money for one.
4
Con was part of something called the admin's special team. All this meant was that she was part of a large group with special abilities that kept watch over their home, Transformice.
5
6
She paused and looked out her empty tribe house's window after catching a sight of movement. One of them was here -- just who it was, was the question. Con hoped it wasn't Derrin. She didn't like him because, somehow, he seemed to scare a lot of people, and he wasn't even that powerful. Is he? Pff no he couldn't be, not with herself around that is. Even with that stone hard fact, Con couldn't help but feel a little agitated at the thought of him coming into her tribe house looking all big and tough, telling her what her mission is as though he was the boss. He wasn't even a mod or a sent! Or anything! Why did people think he was so important? Stupid Derrin.
7
8
Someone knocked on the door and Con slowly walked over, pausing just long enough to mutter "please not Derrin" before opening it. She stood there for a few moments, staring blankly at a masked face with red markings and fangs sticking out the bottom. "Oh. Hey Warren," Con said, opening the door wider to let him in.
9
10
There was no need, because Warren was already inside the tribe house darting around and looking excitedly at everything in the room."So this is your place huh? It looks cool. Needs more cats. Ooh look at that!" He was moving so fast it was making Con get a little dizzy.
11
12
"Warren! You were sent to get me right?" She said a little louder than usual. She had to get his attention, and speaking loudly was one of the only ways. Warren stopped bouncing around and looked at her, then nodded and clapped his hands happily.
13
14
"They caught someone who might be involved in the latest cases! They need you to read his mind. Isn't that great?!" He laughed and Con caught a glimpse of his smile, which seemed to stretch from one ear to the other. -Warren gets too excited over the strangest things sometimes- She thought, then walked over and waved a hand in front of his face to snap his attention back to her.
15
16
"Okay then, shouldn't you take me there so I can search the prisoner?" Warren paused and looked at her with a slight tilt to his head that hinted he was confused. Then he clapped again and ran out the door calling over his shoulder
17
18
"Con, come on, I got a cool ride! And you got a cool evil person to mess with!"

Chapter one part two
23
24
Warren was sitting happily on a large, plush cloud (like the kind that the spiritual guide specialty shamans were often seen using on the lands that led to the cheese, or maps as the mice called them). It had a silvery blue rune attached to it that Warren turned whenever he wanted to go in a different direction. Best of all, it flew high in the air and he loved it. It felt like he had sprouted a pair of wings and was gliding along the air currents himself. A sudden gulping sound caught him up out of his thoughts.
25

26
He looked over his shoulder to see a shaky, green faced Con who held a paw over her mouth. He smiled at her, a smile she couldn't see because of the big mask covering his face. But he knew after experience that people eventually understood what he was doing, by how he tilted his head or how he laughed, and because Con was one of these people, she glared at him while saying in a quivering voice.
27

28
"Th-this is w-what you call a cool ride? IT'S TOO HIGH IN THE AIR WARREN." Warren laughed at her while she bent down and gripped the cloud tightly to make sure she wouldn't fall off.
29

30
"I thought you'd like it, because it's so fast!" He said cheerfully, oblivious to her moans and shaking figure. He just turned his attention back to steering. But he kept getting distracted, the pretty blue flowers in many of the field maps below were just too lovely to ignore, and how could he ignore a pretty mouse when she waved up at him? Poor air-sick Con had to keep his attention on driving, and each time she reminded him about why they were on the cloud in the first place he'd just laugh and swerve around to the right direction, making her close her eyes and grip the cloud tighter than ever.
31

32
Eventually, after a long and painful trip, they got to the base where the prisoner was being held.

Chapter one part three
37
38
Warren helped Con off the cloud, and then to the door. She was still shaking and looked fairly green in the face. Warren stood still, allowing Con take advantage of his support by letting her lean practically all her weight on him while she calmed herself down.
39
40
"Was the flight that bad?" said a worried voice. Warren looked up to see a young mouse with a fluffy hat and large gas mask walking over to them. He raised one paw in greeting and smiled at her.
41
42
"Hi Chell!" She smiled uncertainly at him before turning to look at Con.
43
44
"Are you alright?" Chell asked, and Con grimaced before letting go of Warren and standing up by herself.
45
46
"Just peachy. Come on let's go inside, I want to get this done and over with." She said and Warren darted ahead of her humming happily to himself while he sped through the building. Eventually he stopped at a heavily guarded iron door with a lot of locks, and waited. Warren bounced around impatiently while waiting for Con and Chell, annoying the appointed guards to the point of face-palming.
47
48
When the ladies reached the door Warren skidded to a stop and clapped his hands together happily. "Con you can go in now! Go go go! The evil person is waiting for a mind reading!" He smiled at her, tilting his head to the right and clapping his hands once more. Con rolled her eyes at him, and turned to Chell and the guards.
49
50
"I'm ready, let's do this." Warren tried his best to stay still, while the guards unlocked the door to let Con in. Two of them made as if to go in with her, (for extra protection) but she stopped them.
51
52
"Even if I can't read your minds doesn't mean your presence won't interfere. Please, stay out here. You're welcome to break in if there's an issue, but you probably don't have to worry about that either." The guards stepped back reluctantly, uncertain looks on their faces. Nevertheless, they opened the door and Con stepped in, closing it behind her. Warren, Chell, and the others stood by a computer and watched Con sit down in the unoccupied chair, before folding her hands and looking at the the mouse on the other side.
53
54
He was a skinny, brown mouse with matted fur and a cruel sneer on his face, with long yellow nails and teeth. Worse yet, were his sharp, beady little eyes. When he spoke, his voice had a rasping element to it.
55
56
"I see they sent another pretty agent to question me." Con stared back, and smiled.
57
58
"Unfortunately, yes. But this time there won't be any talking, just silence." The criminal looked intrigued but just smiled and said,
59
60
"Alright, but I don't think you'll do any better." Warren watched as Con shrugged and then stared at the mouse's face, her eyes paling considerably and her face going slack. A few quiet minutes passed, and nothing happened. Warren was looking all around the room, his attention darting all over the place.
61
62
Suddenly a scream came from the room holding the prisoner and Warren looked at the screen. Con was on the floor screaming and holding her head, and the prisoner was walking over to her. The guards were opening the door, but they were so slow. The criminal was only another two steps away from her.
63
64
The door was open, just enough, and in a flash Warren darted into the room. He seemed to fly over to where Con was, and he leaned forward, put his hands on the ground and used his built up force to swing his legs upward and kick the filthy mouse in the head.
65
66
Warren didn't stop to watch him collapse, but was already running out the door with Con in his arms.

Chapter two part one
72
73
Con was walking in an empty place, dark and bleak. Where was she? Everything felt fuzzy, and strange. What happened? She couldn't remember. Con stopped walking for a moment and tried to remember, but a sharp pain erupted in her skull when she did, causing her to take a sudden breath. She stood there for a few minutes, letting the pain fade away before she did anything else.
74
75
The pain had gone and so she walked on, deciding that for the moment it wasn't a good idea to try and figure out why her memory was no longer there. After a while, Con noticed that pictures had started to color the darkness. Blurry as they were, she was grateful to see that it wouldn't be as horrible as it was before. Suddenly she had the strangest feeling, as though she had something she needed to think about, felt like it was on the tip of her tongue. Whatever it was, it kept flickering in the back of her mind, reminding her that she had something to remember.
76
77
Suddenly some of the pictures came into focus, and she saw her tribe house, a mouse with a strange cat mask, memories that did not belong to herself. It was all coming back to her now, and the black surrounding her had faded, and became sort of fuzzy. Voices sounded in the background, and Con tried to catch what they were saying.
78
79
"I think she might have lost her memory agent Eyher, I looked and saw only emptiness. But there's a good chance she'll recover them soon, mind readers are very strong and amnesia never lasts long for them." A woman's voice said in a reassuring tone.
80
81
Mind reader? Right yes she was a mind reader, which reminded her... wasn't she supposed to search some prisoners mind? Oh wait.
82
83
"That's good, I was really worried. I thought the prisoner was going to kill her before we got to her in time, luckily agent Petricoft was nearby, he was able to pull her out of there quickly." Said a soft, quiet voice. This girl sounded relieved.
84
85
Petricoft? Oh she must mean Warren! Con tried to open her eyes, and managed to blink them open.
86
87
"Oh!" She saw a familiar mask looking at her "She's awake she's awake! Con how are you? Want some juice? I can get some orange juice, the stuff they have here is really good!" Warren clapped his hands and she smiled faintly at him, thankful to see a kind face replacing the last of the darkness.
88
89
"Sure," she croaked, realizing how sore her throat felt. "Wait, could I have tea instead? My throat is killing me." Warren bounced up and down nodding his head. Then, suddenly to her surprise, he bent down and hugged her.
90
91
"Anything for a buddy!"

Chapter two part two
96

97
Chell sighed, sitting quietly at a small table waiting for the agent she whispered to get there. She tapped her fingers lightly on the wooden surface, thinking back to earlier that day. To make sure she hadn't forgotten anything, she replayed the scene over in her mind.
98

99
She'd stood there looking curiously at Warren after he stood up from giving Con a hug. He'd run out after to get her tea. Chell sighed. She often worried about Warren, because she wasn't sure if he understood the situations of things sometimes, even though he had proven her wrong multiple times. He'd shown himself capable of a lot but Chell still had a hard time of believing that. She thought of him as well, a child.
100

101
Shaking her head, she turned to Con. "Would it be okay if we talked about what you managed to see while searching the prisoner?" Con looked at her and laughed, her voice choked and dry sounding.
102

103
"You're so quiet sometimes Chell, I could barely hear that you know. You said you wanted to ask about what I saw right? I heard correctly?" Chell blushed, embarrassed, she nodded her head and Con smiled.
104

105
"Alright, after my tea. What is taking Warren so long? I mean. This is long for Warren." Before Chell could reply he darted through the door and had handed Con her drink.
106

107
"I didn't know what tea you wanted, so I got you chai because chai tea is delicious! Oooh is that a cat painting?!" Chell stared at him, chuckling quietly to herself. He could be very amusing sometimes. She brought herself back to the current situation, and sat herself down beside Con's bed.
108

109
"Could you tell us what happened now if you're done with your tea? I don't want to rush you." Con laughed at her, her voice already sounded better than before. Tea can really do wonders on a sore throat. Con began, and Chell sat listening carefully to every word, repeating them in her mind to make sure she remembered.
110

111
"I was in a dark room, and I heard two voices talking. They seemed to be bargaining, you know like for an item at the store. But, one said 'Come on I have stuff to do, I need those cheats as soon as possible.' the other laughed 'No I'm afraid I'll need a better offer.' and then the well, thing happened. There wasn't anything else."
112

113
A hand gently shook Chell's shoulder and she jolted back to the present. She looked up at the dark furred face of her friend Miela. "Oh hey, took you long enough."
114

115
Miela laughed "Yes but at least I wasn't day-dreaming." Chell smiled at her.
116

117
"I wasn't day-dreaming, I was making sure I remembered everything. I have something to tell you."

Chapter two part three
124
125
A tall mysterious looking mouse sat on the back of a large creature while carefully eyeing the long dreary terrain. His strange mount stamped the ground impatiently, letting out a loud and irritated snort.
126
127
"I know, not very interesting. You'll have to suffer with it though, because I have stuff to do here, alright?" The creature snorted again and danced lightly on its hoofed feet. The mouse shook his head, chuckling before lightly tapping the creatures sides with the heels of his shoes. It let out a strange and startling bellow that sounded much like a bad singer trying to yodel. Starting forward, the beast shook its head irritably at its rider.
128
129
The mouse rolled his eyes and was going to reply when he felt a sudden shiver running through him. He grunted a short annoyed grunt before picking up a strange device and gently tapping its faintly glowing screen with his paw. A name showed up on the screen in glowing letters that read "Reline Hazer."
130
131
"Ah, wondered who would call." He said and pressed the name. A voice emitted from the strange device.
132
133
"Hello Derrin." The voice was suspicious and soft, as if the mouse on the other side of the machine was waiting for a confession from the mouse she called.
134
135
Derrin rolled his eyes before answering "Hello Reline, why are you whispering me?"
136
137
" Because," Derrin could almost see her eyes darting left and right. "I'm supposed to tell you about a mission. We got some info from Con earlier and a group of agents are being called to investigate, the mice on top told me to tell you that you need to come."
138
139
Derrin scratched absentmindedly at his furry cheek, indecencies running across his mind. The mice on top was what they said when the wanted him to come in and it was annoying, it wasn't as though those people scared him. No that wasn't it at all, it was because he respected them that they used those words to recruit him to a mission. Damned irritating dingbats.
140
141
Reline's voice sounded from the device again "Are you bringing that long legged and hard-footed creature with you again?"
142
143
He sighed before replying "It's a horse Reline, I've told you that before. Besides aren't you the first one to give him a welcome back strawberry?"
144
Silence lasted for about two minutes before any answer came.
145
146
"Just come to the meet-up... I gotta go cause important stuff and interesting stuff... Bye." She'd ended the whisper chat, and Derrin closed the device putting it back in its place. He sighed again, looking out over the barren landscape knowing that soon he would be around many of the others, and would have to deal with them.
147
148
Great, I bet they'll be pleased to see me. Too bad I won't be when I see them.

Chapter three part one
154
155
Miela sighed, staring quietly at the low gray building ahead. She looked upward hoping to catch a ray of sunshine glimmering through the gray overcast, only to be disappointed by large foreboding letters over the front gate that read "Banned Players Penitentiary." She shivered, already hating this place.
156
157
Her only friend (at least that's how she saw it) and fellow agent Chell Eyher noticed, and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It'll be over soon, we just need to pick up this hacker and scoot."
158
159
Miela smiled gratefully at her, thankful to have someone like Chell nearby. "T-thanks, I-I'll be alright, it's just ne-er-rves. Places like this give just me the cre-e-eeps." Her friend laughed and put her arm around Miela's shoulders.
160
161
"I'll be right here with ya, so nothing to worry about. Let's go in." She nodded and Chell withdrew her arm. They walked forward for about ten minutes before they stood at the entrance gate. Miela waited while Chell took out her account key and swiped it through a scanner near the gate, opening the doors. She sighed and followed Chell in, looking around cautiously. Two of the prison guards met them during the way, (their warden was busy with some files so he wasn't able to come himself) and discussed the prisoner with Chell.
162
163
"He may not have done a lot of actual hacking or cheat selling ladies but he does know almost everything about everybody else. He'll be of some use, especially if you plan on using him to track down this mysterious cheat selling mouse of yours." One of the guards said, his mustache twitching slightly at every word.
164
165
"Thank you, that's what we're hoping for." Chell replied and Miela nodded assent, being careful to keep her face calm and clear as the cheerful mouse led them down a shady hallway to the cell the hacker was waiting in. They stopped at the cell door letting the guard go in to gather the hacker up and bring him out there to them. Miela suddenly wondered what he looked like, and she didn't have to wait long to find out.
166
167
He had curling black horns and a strange blue skull shaped earring. A necklace that resembled an eyeball hung around his neck and paper 3D glasses hid the color of his eyes. He had a pipe sticking out of his mouth, and his lips were in a goofy carefree grin. Miela turned her gaze upward toward his hair. It was light gray, and so poofy that all she wanted to do after seeing it was poke it or pat it down.
168
169
He smiled at them "Hello, you must be here to pick me up yes? I've been waiting for awhile. I'm looking forward to solving this mystery with you and whomever else is in your agency."
170
171
"Er thanks, let's go now or we'll be late for the gathering." Chell said, and grabbed one of his arms. Miela sighed deep within herself and grabbed the other. The two of them led the hacker out of the prison.

Chapter three part two
178
179
Con tossed and turned in her sleep, the mice from the prisoners memory repeating the same words again and again, echoing painfully in her head. The first one didn't really bug her, but the second one did. "No I'm afraid I'll need a better offer." She couldn't stop herself from wondering what the original offer had been, even her sleeping mind wasn't excited about the plot holes in this vision.
180
181
Although these words were bothersome that wasn't what made them so hard to deal with. No, no in fact it was the bone chilling scream that sounded afterward, that bothered her so much. The worst part was, it sounded like someone she had known years ago.
182
183
Something was shaking her, and whispering "Con, Con, wake up, your face is too upset, Con why is your face upset, Con wake up." She blinked her eyes open, and lay there staring at Warren's mask for a moment of quiet shock . She sat up and pushed his arms off her, ignoring the faint throbbing in her temple.
184
185
"Warren what is it?" Con asked looking at him, her eyebrows coming together as she stared at him, flickers of annoyance flashing across her face. He just sat there as though he were condemned to silence and for a brief second Con thought she saw his face, solemn, handsome, and sad. She felt a light blush sneak up her neck and she shook her head ridding herself of the image.
186
187
Turning her attention back to Warren she motioned for him to tell her what was wrong. Con watched as he stood up, and stepped over by her leaning close. "You were moaning in your sleep, and you had a sad expression on your face. I didn't like it." Con could almost see furrowed eyebrows and a tiny frown forming on his mask (the face she'd seen earlier couldn't have been him, could it?).
188
189
She forced herself to smile as though nothing horrible had happened, even though the screaming still haunted her thoughts."Don't worry I'm fine. I just had a nightmare but I don't even remember it so I'm good." Warren leaned back sighing with relief, and in an instant he was back to his normal self, running around and talking so fast even she could barely understand him, but she knew he was talking about how kittens should be somewhere in this hospital. That was when she heard her whispers ting and she picked it up, choosing the read option before carefully looking over the words on the faintly glowing screen.
190
191
Hey Con, you're well enough now so get out of bed and tell Warren that you two need to show up at the meeting. Hurry it up, we can't wait forever.
192
193
P.S. I'm glad you didn't die, you did thank Warren right?
194
-Ace.
195
196
Con smiled, chuckling quietly while turned off her whisper. She got out of bed and walked over to Warren who was still yammering on about why cats would improve hospitals so much.
197
198
"Warren we were called to the meeting, I'm going to go get out of this hospital gown and you will go find something to take us that won't end up being the cause of my death. Thanks." Warren saluted her and ran out the door to their ride ready. Con thought to herself while slipping on a black t-shirt, that no matter what ride Warren got it was likely to be a difficult journey. She sighed, and having finished dressing she walked out of the room and then the hospital building it resided in.
199
200
What greeted her instantly made her go green in the face. Warren was sitting on the very same cloud that he had used to take her to the prisoner not long ago. He waved at her, swinging his arm from side to side completely oblivious of his idiotic choice in transportation choice. She walked over and thwacked his head.
201
202
"Owwww why'd you do that?" He asked her, rubbing the now sore spot.
203
204
She narrowed her eyes and motioned to the cloud. "Because you brought the cloud again, I do not want to ride that cloud again." Warren paused, as though he were considering her words. Then out of nowhere he laughed, and got off the cotton-ball of doom before suddenly picking her up bridal style and sitting her on the cloud. Con had a hard time keeping herself from blushing and from injuring him greatly by breaking his arms.
205
206
"I'm not flying as fast or as high this time silly" He said "It's only going to be about two feet off the ground, and only traveling at a nice, easy pace. You have nothing to worry about. I promise" Warren climbed back onto the cloud and started it, while Con just sat with raised eyebrows. Why is he taking so much time to accommodate me? She thought, the words seeming quiet and uncertain in her mind. She decided it was because he still thought she was sick and fragile when she obviously wasn't, but Con just let it slide. Besides it was nice when someone cared enough to make anything comfortable for her.
207
208
It was time they were going. Warren grabbed the rune at the front of the cloud and flicked it lightly, causing it to glow for a few moments before pulling them forward at a nice and easy pace, just like he promised.

Chapter three part three
214
215
Derrin grimaced as he neared the building where the meeting was going to take place. He already knew things were getting tense, and to add to that irritating knowledge, he suddenly sensed another presence that stood out strongly from the rest of the agents. He cringed. It was Reline Hazer. He didn't know why she was so visible compared to the others, but as he ran the thought over in his mind it was probably because she took a lot of interest in him, well more like an interest in Shadows Gleam. She'd always give his horse sugar cubes or strawberries when he came back to Transformice, and yet, she always acted so suspicious and wary of everything accept with newer agents.
216
217
This was only one of the many things that confused him when it came to her. He remembered that she started out really nice and friendly when she first met him, as though she expected them to be best buddies that very instant. Of course Derrin hadn't liked that either, but in some ways he preferred it to how she acted now. Which happened out of nowhere too, and after that she'd grow more distant and suspicious with each day that passed. Derrin found out a few weeks later that she did this with everyone, and he couldn't figure out why which bugged him like a fly buzzing at his ear. He liked knowing things, which was why he traveled and explored so much of the world outside Transformice, in order to know more.
218
219
Reline pretty much ruined all of that! How could he claim to know so much when he couldn't figure out the actions of a subordinate? It was ludicrous!
220
221
At least with Reline though, it was interesting. With everyone else it just irritated him, he did not want to talk, he did not care about someone leaving cat stickers all over the offices and prisons after visiting them, and he did not want to get a drink of coffee. Why he had to come here and suffer with these noisy mice was beyond him, but he had to come this time. And so, with that in mind his resolve renewed and he entered the building.
222
223
It was large and open, and faintly resembled a school gym. Derrin saw mice leaning against walls, chatting like nothing was wrong. How stupid could these agents be? They had been called to an important meeting, not a get together! He groaned inwardly and didn't bother to hide his displeasure when he glanced around the room. Newer recruits who saw him started, and stood staring at Shadows Gleam and his rider with a quiet awe. The older ones who had been around for a longer time looked up at him once and made sure to keep out of his way, and the ones who had been there even longer (or were just plain stupid/oblivious) walked straight up to him and said hello.
224
225
One of these was a mouse named Ace. Derrin didn't understand why he always bothered him, much like how he didn't understand why Reline insisted on bothering him despite her suspicious attitude. Ace usually didn't talk a lot, and at first Derrin thought he wouldn't have to worry about him, but he was wrong. When he'd first met him everyone assured him that Ace wouldn't be a bother. What a bunch of liars He thought bitterly, remembering the first thing the black haired mouse had done was smile and talk to him, at great length. This had surprised others as much as it had him, and Derrin noticed a few of the female agents staring at Ace almost longingly, which caused him to grimace in disgust. Of course the mouse they were actually staring at ignored the expression and continued to try and talk to Derrin. Why? He had no clue. Derrin knew he wasn't a pleasant person, in fact he thought of himself as a downright jerk and thoughtless dingbat, so why would anyone bother talking to him?
226
227
Derrin grunted, clenching his teeth together in frustration as Ace strode over to greet him. He decided that if he had to suffer this he might as well dismount and feed Shadows Gleam. He quickly got off the horse and led it toward a strange structure with a wooden door, a net full of hay on one wall, and a wooden box full of wheat and other grains on the other, not to mention the strange piles of clean hay on the wooden floor. Derrin led his steed into the stall and carefully unsaddled him and hung up his harness and other riding gear on iron hooks that stuck out beside the hay net. Ace had followed him and was leaning on the lower half of the split wood door, staring at Shadows Gleam.
228
229
"He's a strange thing." He said softly, watching with an almost curious look on his face. Derrin grunted, letting him know that he acknowledged his presence. Sighing, he stopped what he was doing and turned toward the blonde haired mouse. He obviously wanted or needed to say something, so Derrin just wanted him to hurry and say it.
230
231
"Well, what is it?" He crossed his arms and glowered at him.

Ace put on a puzzled and irritated frown "We're still missing some people. Con and Warren haven't showed up yet." Before Derrin could reply the doors to the building were thrown open and a brown blur sped through the opening shouting "WE'RE HERE! WE'RE HERE! HI GUYS! HELLO! YAY WE MADE IT, DID WE MISS THE MEETING? HI HELLO!"

Con stood in the doorway and watched Warren bolt around the large room, trying futilely to understand how he could have so much energy. Was driving so slow making him go crazy? she wondered as she entered the building, pulling the door shut behind her. A crash sounded, making Con wince before looking toward the source of the disturbance. Warren had knocked over some of the many oak-wood chairs, speeding away while other agents set them up again, glaring the whole time at his blurry form as it flew by.

Crossing her arms, she sent a frosty glare in his direction, taking in the chaos. "WARREN, SIT DOWN." Con shouted suddenly, stomping one foot on the ground she brought her arms to her sides and balled her hands into fists. Warren skidded to a stop and looked at her, his head tilted downward guiltily. Con watched, impatiently tapping her foot as he ran hastily to a chair and sat down, folding his hands together like a school boy who's trying his best not to get into trouble. Which, is pretty much the case. Con thought, and shook her head slightly.

Taking a deep breath she strode over, and sat down next to him. The other agent's stares lingered, mildly startled by Warren's quick reaction to the order. "What? Surprised?" Con said "You could've tried it. Can we just start now? I'm tired of waiting." She watched as they began shuffling around once more, before quietly relaxing into her seat. At least they're doing something with their time besides stare.. She thought, sighing again. Warren tilted his head at it but Con just shrugged it off, saying "Let's try and focus on the meeting."

Ten minutes later everyone who was not going to speak had taken their seats, and the meeting had begun. Con sat alert, looking intently at the wooden structure, worry gnawing at the back of her mind. What bad news will they have in store this time... She wondered, looking at the steely faces surrounding her. I guess they're thinking the same thing. Minutes passed, tense and quiet, when the sharp sound of metal soled shoes clicking across the cement floor could be heard making its way toward the stage. Glancing to her left, Con caught sight of Agent Eyher making her way to the circular stage platform.

Stepping onto the stage, Agent Eyher accepted the microphone offered by another Sentinel, exchanging some quick words before he ran off to do whatever he was told, and left her there to give some important information to a crowd of wound up mice. Con watched, her heart beating rapidly as Agent Eyher began speaking. Why isn't a mod up there? "I'm afraid what you will all be learning, those who don't know this already, will be unpleasant knews." Con gritted her teeth; Knew it. "Recently reports of missing agents have been growing in number. This past week alone we've lost five of our comrades to unknown enemies, with little to no knowledge of what happened to them. This isn't all that we've been getting, no the office has also received reports of newer and more dangerous hacks and cheats being sold in the Black Markets, their use is being noticed all across Transformice by locals and undercover agents patrolling those areas. One of our Sentinels, Agent Con, interviewed a cheat dealer who was specializing in a new kind of hack. She managed to get some important information before the dealer attacked her mind, causing her to collapse. She's alive and well thanks to the quick action of Agent Petricoft, and our well beloved medical team." A small round of relieved sighs went around before quieting under the raised hand of Agent Eyher.

"Thanks to the information gathered we have an idea of the atrocities that lay ahead, but we don't have nearly enough to combat it. This led to a very difficult debate. In the end we had to make a hard decision, but it was the only one that would give us anything to help prevent whatever future catastrophe that awaits us. The Admins themselves agreed that this was the best possible way to continue. We have data on many criminals but we don't know them all and we don't know the ultimate ringleaders. In order to fix this, we have to get help, from one of them."

An instant wave of gasps and outraged mutterings exploded in the room. A young mouse with gray fur and wavy blond hair partly covered by a dark gray police cap with a matching tie stood up, raising his hand. "Quiet! This is obviously the result of many meetings and ideas, do you honestly think they haven't thought this through? If the Admins say this is what they want us to do, we do it! No questions asked!"

Con stood up quickly, annoyed by all the by all the angry rambles "He's right, besides not like it's not the end of the world!" after her outburst she slowly sank back down into her chair, and waited for everyone to be quiet and the meeting to continue. The murmurs died down soon, and Agent Eyher took a deep breath before staring again into the crowd of agents. "We're going to bring him out here to introduce to you, he's not the biggest dealer out there but he has the incredible knowledge that we need. He can gather information in seemingly no time at all, this is why we want him as an aide." Turning around she motioned to a couple of sentinels at the back of the stage. They nodded, walking out of site to retrieve the prisoner, or "aide" as they called him.

While they disappeared to fulfill their order, she turned back to the crowd "When he's on stage there are to be no questions. He's only here so that you might learn to recognize his face, in case he betrays us at some point in the future, so you all know who he is. He'll come on for a couple of minutes then go back, after that we will discuss other matters."
