Why is Kevin O'leary known as Mr. Wonderful on 'Shark Tank'?

Kevin O'leary is known as the man who will happily undercut other sharks and give rather aggressive deals to people who think that they will be featured on the show. He is also the first one who will tell you if he thinks that your ideals are ‘idiotic’, or even if he thinks that the decisions you have about your businesses are stupid. He is also famous for calling people on their stupidity regardless of what it is caused by, which is why a lot of us wonder why is he known as the ‘Mr. Wonderful’ on Shark Tank.
There are many explanations that will help you understand why is that a thing. You might think that he is called that because of the way he is sharp and because he was successful in launching a ton of business.  Kevin O'leary has also led a lot of companies in the software field, education and even storage, which just shows how amazing he is as he led three fields that do not have that much in common. This is including while not even mentioning the current media ventures that he is behind.
And while all of that should be enough to earn him that title, none of the things that were mentioned are actually the culprits behind his nickname, Mr. Wonderful. As it turns out, Kevin O'leary wasn’t called this until he appeared on Shark Tank, as he shared the origin of the nickname with us: “I think it was in season one, where somebody was trying to sell a publishing deal for music to us, and I was the one who proposed 51% equity position, since as you all know I like to control my business. This is when Barbara told me ‘Well aren’t you Mr. Wonderful?’ After which I just had to respond with ‘I am!’”.
What started out as a sarcastic comment turned out to be a whole new persona, as Kevin O'leary is known to sign his name as Mr. Wonderful when he makes reservations in hotel, as in many places they do not really know his real name. While many of you do not know the history of that, you have probably realized that the nickname ‘Mr. Wonderful’ has taken a life of its own. Many have said that this nickname is similar to Joker when he was asked how he got his scars!
There are many odd thinks that make it big in media, and this is one of them. As simple as it may sound, the nickname Mr. Wonderful has been mentioned everywhere, even on Twitter. This is probably because it is weird to see somebody who is known to be a harsh person being called Mr. Wonderful. Well, at least now we know the origin of his nickname, as that probably makes it easier for us to understand the reason behind such a weird occurrence, as Kevin O'leary is definitely not Mr. Wonderful!
