--Introduce yourself, how long have you been playing VenomPvP?--

Hello to all current staff and players. My name is Kyle, and my in game name is vKyle. Besides playing minecraft, some of my other interest include competing on my high schools wrestling and baseball teams. I also enjoy playing CS:GO, and Madden and Call of Duty on the xbox 360.
I have enjoyed playing on VenomPvP for over Seven weeks now. I am excited to be applying for staff for VenomPvP, and I hope as much consideration goes into the acceptance process as I put into my application. I am optimistic that in the near future, I will be able to contribute my skills and talents to VenomPvP.

--Do you have a working microphone?--

I have multiple working microphones. Communicating with staff and even other players is an essential function of being a staff member. I have no problems talking via teamspeak, skype, or other communication software.

--What is the current timezone in which you reside?--

I live on the Eastern side of the United States which observes Eastern Standard Time (EST).

--What are some of the servers rules?--

A fundamental part of being staff on a minecraft server is a complete understanding of the rules for that particular server. With this knowledge, all staff will have the ability to apply and enforce the rules. This allows the nature of the gameplay to be fair, safe, and ultimately enjoyable for all players who adhere to the rules.
Hacking is a very serious offence on VenomPvP and results in a temporary or permanent ban depending on the situation. The only approved mods allowed in Venom gameplay are optifine, minimaps/player and entity radar, armor/potion hud, and a better sprint mod. Other offenses which may result in a permanent ban include but are not limited to, intentional advertising, scamming real money, duplicating items, and charging back purchases of items bought at the store located on the VenomPvP website.
Other rules of lesser penalties, yet still serious offences include rules which are similar to many faction servers. Glitching is strictly prohibited and will result in a thirty day ban, and if a second offense occurs, that player will be permanently banned. Doxing or the threat of doxing has the penalty of a thirty day ban. (Note: Doxing essentially means the act of researching and publishing personal and identifiable information). Denial of service threats result in a seven day ban. Selling an alternative account is a five day ban. The possession of duplicated items will also result in a temporary ban. If a player attempts to ban evade, the ban sentence will double, and will result in a permanent ban if another attempt is made. Teleportation or PvP trapping is also prohibited, players guilty of this act will be banned for seven days. Asking for a ban will result of the player being banned for a day.
There are a few more rules in place to enhance Venom for all players. These rules will usually result in a warning or a temporary mute for a first offense, second offenses have a mute, longer mute, or a short player ban. Such rules include making racist comments or the use of slurs including homophobic slurs. Another prohibited act for Venom users is the encouragement of suicide. Other rules under this category include spamming a player, staff, or the server, abusing any of the plug-ins, and hackusations which is wrongfully accusing players of hacking.
Although I am confident that I have a through understanding of the rules, staff members are presented with challenges regarding rules on a daily bases. A lot of times, the staff are presented with situations that are unique and require the knowledge, maturity, and ability to handle the player who broke a rule or is negatively effecting the server. I acknowledge that enforcement of the rules a primary function of the VenomPvP's staff, and I believe that I will be an asset to this server if honored with the opportunity to become a staff member.

You are casually monitoring chat. As you do when you get on Venom. You notice that a player is getting angry in chat, and starts to rant about how the player who just killed him in PvP is hacking. He starts to use excessive profanity, and includes an encouragement if suicide in his rant. What do you do?

In this hypothetical situation, there are a few key factors to consider. Let's call the player who killed the other (also alleged hacker) Player A, and the player who died and is now angry Player B.
Assuming I was a staff member while monitoring the chat while this incident occurred, I would first follow the server's ban system of rules that where factually broken. Other relevant information to this case is the history of Player A and Player B and I would take into consideration before applying a mute or ban on either player. Player B use of profanity did not break any stated rule by the server. However, if it was truly excessive and I felt it was uncalled for and started to have a negative impact of other players I would give him a warning that his privilege of using chat is starting to be abused and they will be muted if they do not stop. As soon as Player B uses the encouragement of suicide, that is an instant 24 hour mute for a first offence and a seven day ban for a second offense which I would apply the appropriate punishment. If Player A was found not to be hacking, Player B would also be guilty of hackusations. However, after a 24 hour mute, or 7 day ban, I would most likely not apply any additional punishment, rather inform Player B that hackustations is against the rules and they will be punished if they were to continue to do it in the future.
As for Player A, if he was actually using a modified client to enhance their PvP such as a kill aura is a bannable offense. Even with Players's B failure to adhere to the rules, I would still investigate if Player A was hacking. Without getting into the logistics of determining if a player is hacking, If I found Player A was or still is hacking, I would permanently ban them, and they will have a chance to appeal the ban via he forums or buy an unban ticket via the server's online shop. Hacking is a very serious offense on Venom, and will never be taken lightly if a player is found hacking.

Have you donated to the server? If so how much?
I am currently a demigod rank. However this question on the application is a little troublesome for me. I fully hope your decision on if I am qualified for staff is based on my actions and this application, rather than the amount of money I have donated to the server. I might not have the ability donate money in compression to other players. Rather, I know that I can positively contribute to Venom if I am added to the staff team.

What makes you want to become a staff member on VenomPvP?

I am applying for staff for two main reasons. I have been a factions player on Minecraft for a few years now, and recently have grown to really enjoy VenomPvP. I could rave about the plugins or the way the economy is constructed, but what has really has impressed me is the staff. I am not trying to be an ass kisser with this question, I will explain further.

In comparison to other servers, VenomPvP stands out because of their staff. First, I do not remember the last time I signed on to Venom and I did not see a staff member online. This is the exact opposite of many other server, where I can not remember the last time I saw a staff member online. Another incomparable action of Venom's staff is their timeliness to reply to players, especially on the forums, and banning players who break the rules. Most importantly, is this staff's willingness to help players, and with this friendliness will only attract more players to play Venom in the future. I am confident with my abilities to preform these functions as the current staff is doing so well. For this reason, I felt the to write this application to hopefully be able to not only contribute to the staff team, but the server as a whole.
The second reason I am applying is to better myself. I truly try to better myself on a daily bases. A staff position will give me the opportunity to not only better the server, but it will help improve on my current goals. For example, leadership and teamwork are two traits that I constantly look for improvement. Largely do to my belief in that these traits can largely contribute to my future success. I am a good leader and have the ability to be an excellent team player, as I have been working on this for quite some time. An example of this is being apart of sports team and various competitions. Overall, I am applying for staff because I not only want to contribute my time and abilities to VenomPvP, but to also to make myself a better person.

What server (Python/Cobra) are you applying for?

I have played on Python during my time with VenomPvP. However, I am under the assumption that Python is where the majority of staff is on. If it is a possibility, I would be willing to monitor whichever server I am needed. Whether that is due to the number of players, or which staff are on a particular server. I am more than happy to serve where I am needed for which fits the server's current needs.

I would like to close my application with what I consider my strengths and weakness in the decision to whether I am a current fit to your staff team.
n with this information, situations present themselves that are not as cut and dry. I have the ability to think quick on my feet and make quick, yet rational decisions that I can stand behind. I already mentioned my leadership and ability to work in a team,. I am a fast learner, and will not make the same mistake twice. If I was presented with the opportunity to be a staff member, I will prove to be an asset to the team, and have great pride in doing all responsibilities assigned to me.
Even with all my strengths, it would be ill-advised to make me a staff member on VenomPvP if I was not aware with my weakness. I consider my participation on the server chat and and forums to be my biggest weakness. I am fully aware of this and am proactively trying to improve on this. It can be difficult to make tons of friends in game, do to the competitive nature of faction servers. However, I still try to always be friendly and helpful whenever the opportunity presents itself. As a staff member I would not only dedicate more time to VenomPvP, but have endless opportunity to help people in game and on the forms.
As a staff member I will be able to fully utilize my skills to make sure the server rules are followed, and all player's questions and concerns are answered. Most importantly, that VenomPvP is an enjoyable atmosphere for all current and future players. In the end, this will only promote growth for the server.
