Yuuko: (fumbling with the camera before mounting it on a tripod. Before adjusting the focus on the camera and Clearing her throat) this is Council envoy Yuuko Shirakawa, agent of the dragon, and historian for the archives in Dublin Ireland. As part of the Chronicles initiative, I am interviewing active agents from the 21st century so that future generations may better understand the context in which events are taking place. This session is being recorded on 03-19-2016 in Greenfield Ireland, at the Green residence.
Yuuko: Could you please state your full name, date of birth, affiliation and rank.
Arcadius: Alexander Arcadius Williams, April 12th, 1991. Templar Executor, former Hellguard Captain, and Venetian-certified agent.
Yukko: Can you tell us about your family?
Arcadius: The Williams bloodline goes back...ehhhh, 500-ish years? I thinking going into the origins of the family would be a just a little too much information, but, we were brought into the fold under Charles VII.
As for my immediate family, my father Joseph, has been a Templar all his life, and my mother is a liaison between both London and Venice.
Yuuko: Where did you grow up?
Arcadius: In the US, specifically Ohio, and I don’t think I’m contractually allowed to say any more than that in terms of the exact location. But I can say I grew up in my Dad’s manor.
Yuuko: How would you describe your childhood?
Arcadius: Pretty lonely, I guess. I didn’t go to a public school until 7th grade, so most of my memories are from home. My mother wasn’t around a ton, being Venetian, so I grew up around my Dad.
Yuuko: How were you first introduced to the secret world?
Arcadius: When you’re born as a latent psychic, you tend to have an intuitive sense as to what is “normal” and what is “not normal”. From a fairly young age, I could generally pick up on if something was off in the world around me. I might not be able to explain it, being so young, but I could say “Something just isn’t right here.” (He pauses for a deep breath).
However that changed when I was...what’s the word, ‘given’ Gaia’s blessing? When a latent psychic experiences certain extreme mental stimuli, that’s when our talents and other powers tend to manifest. Renata, my fiance, is so much better at explaining it and some of the forces behind it. Anyways, after that, my Dad sat me down, and began to explain what had happened to me, and what it meant for my future. I got...everything. Monsters, magic, the Societies, everything that he could give me.
Yuuko: Did you have any contact (either directly or indirectly) with your society before your powers awakened?
Arcadius: Mmmmm nope, as far as I remember, Dad didn’t even want me to be a Templar.
Yuuko: Can you tell us what a normal day looks like for you?
Arcadius: (mumbles) ...really hate the word ‘normal’. (clears his throat, and speaks clearly once more). I really don’t have normal days anymore. It’s whatever workload they want to give me, whether or not that’s paperwork or fieldwork. There’s some days I spend in the laboratories with R&D, and then they’ll have me run out to Transylvania to deal with a small band of vampires or demons. So my schedule is ‘versatile’.
Going home, I enjoy my time with Renata, play a couple of video games...yeah. That’s about it.
Yuuko: Has your work for your society ever brought you into contact with anyone who would be considered historically significant (world leaders, celebrities, scientist and engineers.)
Arcadius: (There’s a slight, genuine laugh from him) No, no no. I don’t think I’m awesome enough for that just yet.
Yuuko: Have you ever seen an event reported in the media and known that it was a lie and if so can you tell us what really happened?
Arcadius: First part: yes. Second part: no.
Yuuko: What was the last event you can remember that shook both the secret world and the mundane equally?
Arcadius: Probably the Tokyo Incident. It was kinda...yeah, traumatic for psychics around the world.
Yuuko: Have you ever participated in an event considered historically important to the mundane world and if so was it on behalf of your society
Arcadius: No. I’m usually kept out of mundane events.
