- Dear Doctor
- First, name, an apology for not having contacted you sooner. The niceties and necessities of destitution mean no phone nor, until recently, the price of a pen that works and the extortionate cost of a second class stamp.
- Moving on...
- Sadly public transport between Waltham Abbey and Chase Farm is not the best and for the initial appointment I actually asked for a deferment until I had an OAP bus pass! In some two years time! However, through the kindness of my Social Worker and the request of my Employment Officer I was able to cadge a lift from the former. The latter seem desperately eager to find something wrong with me!
- (In parenthesis I had suggested that Harlow, Princess Alexandria be the easier destination despite my abhorrence of said institution: being largely responsible for the death of both my parents.
- Long story...
- But the Fates dictated otherwise. Then and now!)
- Anyway this last Saturday appointment for a brain scan I judged to be a kindness too far! So I took the liberty of not using the phone that I don't have: to let that appointment lapse.
- As to a new appointment.
- Reading between the lines of your report βand many thanks for the copy btwβ it would seem that there seems nothing drastically wrong!
- Thus I would submit that I am hardly a priority case; no doubt there are more deserving patients out there and the NHS is eternally strapped for cash!
- That said, I would bow to your opinion but would humbly request some future date falling during the week and with a good three weeks notice so I can potentially cadge another lift off my my social worker. Some cheek eh!
- Failing that public transport. Which I must admit is a journey that I do not relish!
- Finally might I suggest to your Administrators an e-mail address for cancelling/ confirming an appointment might be a good; thus saving one the cost of buying a phone or a second class stamp!
- Hoping this find you well!
- Your obedient servant,
