  1. Fallen King: Look Into The Past (15)
  2. .
  3. #
  4. .
  5. It was another normal night for the Kramers household just like any other nights before it. Mrs. Kramer would always bring her toddler, Little John, to his crib and lull him to sleep before finally leaving him. His brother, Michael, would sleep on the bed beside the crib, always looking at his little brother before sleep overtook him.
  6. .
  7. When Little John fell asleep, Mrs. Kramer would put him inside his crib and leave. She would enter the master's bedroom, just like any other night, and retire with her husband.
  8. .
  9. If Mr. Kramer was feeling naughty, the couple would stay up at night and do something what married people would do before being exhausted.
  10. .
  11. However, Mr. Kramer had already fallen asleep by the time she entered the room. She walked towards the bed stand and removed her jewelries before finally resting beside him. She let out a deep sigh and a moan as she touched the figure beneath the bed sheets.
  12. .
  13. "Honey, have you put Johnny to his crib?" Mr. Kramer asked as he called from below.
  14. .
  15. With a frown, she removed the bed sheet from the figure and saw a woman's face. Her skin was decaying and her eyes were bulged out. She let out blood lusted grin, revealing sharp rows of teeth. She was wearing nothing but a tattered nightgown.
  16. .
  17. As soon as she saw the Acheri, her mouth went wide. The Al suddenly materializes behind her and tied one of its braided hair around Mrs. Kramer's opened mouth. It then wrapped itself around Mrs. Kramer's body, binding her by the hands and foot.
  18. .
  19. The Al let out a high pitched chuckle as she levitated Mrs. Kramer in the air. The Acheri let out a silent laugh as well. Mr. Kramer heard the high pitched sound and, with curiousity, rushed towards the bed room.
  20. .
  21. Only to see Mrs. Kramer in a helpless situation.
  22. .
  23. "You know, your wife fantasizes about this moment but our appearances had took her by surprise!" The Acheri, whose voice was now aged, said as she nodded at the Al and constricted the poor woman until her muscles bulged and strained against her bonds.
  24. .
  25. Mr. Kramer hit the ground screaming and watched the love of his wife exploded before his eyes. Her eyes were thrown out of its sockets, her skull was mangled by a powerful pressure, and her bones protruded out of its muscles and skin.
  26. .
  27. The Acheri stood and approached Mr. Kramer but stopped when Michael stood by his doorway.
  28. .
  29. "Oh, children!" It yelled. "I love children!"
  30. .
  31. And the voices of the Kramer household echoed from the house at that very night.
  32. .
  33. In the distance, Shocker was running alone. It was 1966, 15th of July. He was holding his Blast Rifle, being chased by armed Humans while chasing down a fleeing one.
  34. .
  35. The bastards were hiding in a luxurious subdivision full of lively two-storey houses, white fences and manicured lawns.
  36. .
  37. Behind him, the Insurgents opened fire and managed to hit his backplate. Shocker whirled with a groan and fired back. The Insurgent was hit squarely in the chest. He let loose a couple more and hit another one.
  38. .
  39. He continued running down the street for the bastard when the last one opened fire and hit the neck seal located at the back of his armor.
  40. .
  41. His headgear deactivated in an instant, parting open and revealing his blonde hair and green glowing eyes. Out of annoyance, he lifted the man telepathically and clenched his fist. The head of the man exploded in red chunks of gore before falling to the ground, headless.
  42. .
  43. "Now, it's you and me!" Shocker said as he increased his pace. The man he was chasing let out a yelp as soon as he saw Shocker an inch closer.
  44. .
  45. The Protectorate turned his hip and aimed his fist before launching it across. The man let out a cry as the impact had thrown him across the road. He bounced before skidding to a halt. It felt like he got hit by a train.
  46. .
  47. The Protectorate loomed over him. His green eyes was glowing as he stared down. Shocker bent down to unzip his jacket and from one of its pockets, he retrieved a small manila folder.
  48. .
  49. Shocker raised his foot and crushed the face of the Insurgent, killing him. He opened the folder and extracted its contents. He unfolded it and read the Caesar's Code written on it.
  50. .
  51. He grinned as he turned to a direction and walked.
  52. .
  53. "This is Protectorate Shocker, Watchtower, do you copy?"
  54. .
  55. "Watchtower to Shocker, we copy, over."
  56. .
  57. "I have intercepted the message. A cell was deployed in one of the houses, operator. Proceeding to exterminate targets."
  58. .
  59. "Deus Vult, Shieldbrother." The operator replied.
  60. .
  61. "Who is like God." Shocker said as he continued walking.
  62. .
  63. The street was quiet and big. The only sound was the passing breeze and the tall trees between the big houses that swayed every second or so. The trip to his destination was short because it was just nearby. He stopped to assess the location.
  64. .
  65. Opposite the Kramers' house was the target house where a group of Insurgents have been hiding. Shocker drew his Ray Pistol from his right magnetic thigh and advanced towards the house.
  66. .
  67. It was two storey, with an aquamarine rooftop, white concrete walls, manicured lawn and brown fence. He could see red curtains covering the four windows of the houses: two on the second floor and two on the ground floor. A walkway stretched from the road towards the porch of the house, to its wooden door.
  68. .
  69. Shocker grinned. The tree inside the lawn swayed as he walked past by. He approached the wooden door and brought it down with a kick, not bothering to wake the neighbors up.
  70. .
  71. Shocker was inside the living room. The floor was carpeted in red. To the left side of the wall stood a leather couch. Beside the door was a television with a stool in front of it. He ignored it as he walked past, striding towards the kitchen. He detected an armed man hiding in wait between the walls, a corridor that would lead to the bathroom. Shocker opened fire, the Ray Pistol was modified to be quiet. The death of the man was punctuated with a quiet thud.
  72. .
  73. He stepped over him as he rounded the corner, towards the bathroom door beyond. He opened it, none. He moved back and found himself staring at the kitchen counter complete with hanging pans nailed to the wall, utensils, and plates. Beside the counter was a long table.
  74. .
  75. But that does not concern him. As he turned to the left, towards the back door that would leads to the open backyard.
  76. .
  77. There, he saw men in vests and balaclava, smoking cigarettes and chattering among themselves. He wasn't sure if they were deaf or if their conversation was that important to ignore the sound he made when he first intruded in the house. Nonetheless, he fired at the nearest one and then his aim jumped to the second one before he realizes what was happening.
  78. .
  79. He walked inside and approached the staircase to the right side of the living room. Straining his ears against the silence, he heard four remaining hearts beating.
  80. .
  81. To his luck, one of them was going downstairs for a night pee. Shocker fired at his face first, then at his bladder before continuing.
  82. .
  83. The hallway stretched before him but it wasn't very long. He crossed the corridor; two closed doors were adjacent to one another. He opened the one to his left and saw two men locked in a passionate embrace. The two turned to him and, before one of them could shout, Shocker fired a beam of light at his forehead. He then fired at the other one before he could reach for his Kalashnikov.
  84. .
  85. He whirled behind him and opened the remaining door. There, he saw another man standing over his bed, facing his opened briefcase. He turned around with a pistol in his hand.
  86. .
  87. "Hey, what did I say about knocking--?!" The man stopped mid sentence. He was staring directly at a pair of glowing green eyes.
  88. .
  89. Shocker opened fire. The man's head disappeared in a plume of crimson gore. He fell to the side, motionless. Shocker approached the opened briefcase. He saw documents and blueprints of a nuclear reactor. He shut it close and thumbed the locks to secure it. He hefted it and attached it to his magnetic back.
  90. .
  91. "Watchtower, I got the package."
  92. .
  93. "Good, rendezvous with your brothers at this coordinates." A string of numbers entered his mind. Shocker already knew where he was going.
  94. .
  95. He made his way out and got back the way he came when suddenly...
  96. .
  97. ...he saw the familiar faces of the Al and Acheri walking out of the door, blood covered.
  98. .
  99. The three remained frozen in place. The first two were shocked to see a familiar face as well but Shocker, as soon as he caught sight of them, felt fury.
  100. .
  101. He raised his Ray Pistol and opened fire at the Acheri first. The demonic ghost took walked back inside the house with a wounded left thigh. The Al was frozen in fear as the Protectorate chased it.
  102. .
  103. Shocker's aim stayed true as he scorched its body and severed two chunks of its mass. The Al shrieked in pain as it lashed out one of its sharp appendages and whipped at Shocker.
  104. .
  105. It scarred his face. Blood oozes out of the nick.
  106. .
  107. "You're going to die." Shocker said as he charged at the Al, which had also bolted towards the open door and hid.
  108. .
  109. Shocker aimed at the doorway and swung from left to right. He found no signs of the Acheri or the Al, just flipped furnitures, broken vases and strewn wallpapers.
  110. .
  111. He crossed the living room and towards the kitchen. Pans and utensils were everywhere. He aimed at the kitchen sink, hoping to find something there but he only saw the head of Little John.
  112. .
  113. Nothing more to be found.
  114. .
  115. Something moved behind him. The Al's severed appendage had hit something when it tried to squeeze itself inside the cupboard. Shocker approached it but as soon as he took a few paces forward, police sirens blared in the distance.
  116. .
  117. "Luck has saved you this time." He whispered out loud. "But cast this in the stone, I will find you and I will make sure you both have slow deaths." He checked the status of his headgear, which was already repaired. He pulled a fist before his face; the Battle Gear recognized the gesture and enveloped his whole head.
  118. .
  119. He pressed a few icons in his Tactical Bracer as the police vehicles drew to a close. He disappeared from view and walked out, to his destination.
