1. [divbox=gray]General Questions[/divbox]
2. 1. What is a Vampire? What drives this creature and how is it different from regular humans?
3. When we think about the word Vampire many things could arise, from a ruthless monster with fangs that would devour whatever he'd see through the night to an undead witch right next to a cauldron. To be honest yeah it could all be true really, but the truth is Vampires are quite different from what the folklore says. So yeah, Vampire is an undead creature, its body is dead, its heart doesn't beat and they're cold and pale like the phase of the moon (for the most part). The folklore might say that these ruthless monsters are pretty much driven out of cruelty, torment and the lust for blood; which is partially true, yeah Vampires are indeed driven from the irresistible lust for sweet human blood. However, they could literally be saints and even God's will workers, such as priests or even bishops. It all depends on the Vampire and his personality (or Clan).
4.
5. 2. Define the terms Sect, Clan & Bloodline. What is their purpose and how does a Vampire associate with them?
6. Each Vampire has his own roots, his own origin, just like humans; In the Kindred society there are thirteen main blood lineages which are known as the Clans. Each of these clans has its own agenda, main political views, weaknesses, and set of powers (which are known as the Disciplines). However, what is common to all of them is that they all possess a part of Caine's blood. Now Bloodlines are pretty similar to the idea of the Clans, however, they're pretty much a smaller clan within a Clan. It means that all of the bloodlines has a parent clan. The bloodlines would mostly have similar weaknesses and set of disciplines to their parent clan, however, they would be slightly different.
7. Now after we've concluded the clans (in a nutshell), we can go straight forward for the main Sects of the kindred society.
8. So first of all we've got the Camarilla, which is the main Sect of the Kindred society. The Camarilla is enforcing a dictatorial regime around their territory which is ruled by an ancient Vampire (for the most part) which is called a Prince. The Prince is the upper hand and he's the one who's calling the shots around, from minor punishments to a call for a bloodhunt. The prince has his servants which are elder Vampires, those are potent and you can pretty much think of them as the "Street Bosses". Yes, the Camarilla has a heavy regime, however, it's all made in order to protect the kindred society and keep it in order.
9. On the other side of the spectrum you would find the Sabbat, those would reject the Traditions of the Camarilla and believe in the Gehenna, the time when the Antediluvians will rise from their slumbers and devour their descendants. The Sabbat believe that they would be used as the "Sword of Caine", which means they would help him to eliminate them the moment they would arise.
10. Between these two extremes, you will find the Anarchs, a Sect of Vampires who supports freedom and equality between the Kindred, why would another Vampire tell you what to do just because he's older than you? Why do you even need to ask for permission from an elder to embrace your own progeny? This sect is more popular among the younger Vampires for obvious reasons.
11. However, not all of the Kindreds would like to take part in neither of the sides, some would rather avoid politics and keep living their own lives, these are called the Independent ones.
12.
13. 3. Provide a brief overview of the local social sect hierarchy. How is your character's social status/ranking going to affect your roleplay and role in the local sect?
14. This question is quite tricky in the case of Camila, the "value" of the Kindred is mainly depending on their age among most of the sects. However, the Baalis are split into covens which has their own inner hierarchy. According to Camila's story, the majority of her coven was destroyed in the war between the Israeli army to the Islamic Jihad at the deserts of Sinai. So far only 3 members of the coven are known to be alive; Camila, her sire, and her childe.
15. Either way...
16. Camila earned a well respected social status among her coven during the centuries as she became one of the eldest among them.
17.
18. 4. Explain the Vampire power system. What are Disciplines and what defines how powerful a Vampire is? How do Age and Blood Potency (Generation) come into play?
19. The power of the Vampire would mainly depend on his age and the potency of his blood, the closer your vitae to the blood of Caine the more potent it is. The blood potency is exactly what Generations are, Caine is the first generation, he's the first Vampire after all and he is the most powerful Vampire on earth. The second generation would be Caine's childes, which are Zillah, Irad, and Enoch. Next coming the Antediluvians which are the founders of the thirteen clans, Methuselahs would be the next few generations and the list goes on to the very thin blooded Vampires.
20.
21. Disciplines would be the powers of the Kindred, each Clan has its own set of Disciplines which would fit its concept. Gangrels, for example, would have Protean and Animalism, which perfectly fits their nature, controlling the wild or even shaping into it. While the Ventrues (which are politicians for the most part) would have Presence and Dominate which are Disciplines of manipulation.
22. The Disciplines would also mesh perfectly into the concept of blood potency, the more potent your blood the further you're able to reach with your disciplines.
23. In game terms, 7th Generation and below would be able to access 6 or further dots in a discipline (which would unlock many other potent abilities).
24.
25. 5. How are Vampires created and how can they increase their blood potency?
26. Unlike humans, Vampires aren't born, they're made. The process of transition from a mortal into a vampire is called The Embrace. In order to perform the Embrace, a Vampire would have to drain a mortal (could also be an animal) from his blood then give him a little of his own blood, which posses the curse of Caine. However, the blood potency of the newly embraced childe wouldn't be as potent as his sire's (slightly weaker). Therefore, the thirteenth generation and above would be counted as Thin Blooded vampires, and some of them would even have human characteristics such as a beating heart, growing nails and so on.
27. However, there's a way to get closer to the blood of Caine, such act is called "Diablerie". The Diablerie is the process when a vampire would drain another vampire (which has more potent blood of his own) from his blood to the point of making him meet his final death (Also known as ashing). The Diablerie counts as a vicious act and is strictly forbidden among the Camarilla, it falls really under the Sixth Tradition which says that only the Elders of the Camarilla may call for a bloodhunt (AKA killing a vampire). However, this act is acceptable among other sects, such as the Sabbat and mainly the Assamite Clan. *cough* Shayara
28.
29. 6. What is the veil? What are the Traditions and the importance of secrecy?
30. The veil is mostly referred as the Masquerade in the society of the Vampires. The Masquerade was founded and enforced by the Camarilla among the other Six Traditions. The Masquerade is the first Tradition for obvious reasons and so it says: "Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood. Doing such shall renounce thy claims of Blood.", in other words it says that the Vampires may not reveal their nature to the Sleepers, doing such will get destroyed (final death). The importance of this rule is incredible because of countless reasons, have you ever thought what would happen in real life if there were vampires and they'd reveal themselves? There would be many who'd say they're ruthless monsters and they should all be killed, there would be chaos. Also many scientists may try to operate them to see how they function and find logical explanation to all of this. Governments might forbid them or even send militaries to hunt them, and that's just the start really...
31. The second Tradition would talk about havens (properties), when you're at another kindred's property you should respect them and do as they ask.
32. The third Tradition would talk about the Embrace, Kindreds can't just go and embrace whoever they want because it just fits them, that would be hasty and dangerous because not everyone can hold the responsibility of being a vampire in today's world.
33. The fourth Tradition would be related to the Embrace as well; after you embrace a new Vampire you would be responsible for all of his acts until you see he's ready enough to release him to his own.
34. The fifth Tradition would say that when you come to a foreign territory that is ruled under the Camarilla you should act respectfully and make an appropriate representation to the ones who rule it. Without their permission to stay you must leave the domain.
35. The sixth and the last Tradition would forbid the act of killing another Vampire (final death), only the Elders are allowed to decide who'd live and who'd die, as a rookie you can't really call the shots around.

49.
50. October 30, 1613, Deserts of Cairo.
51. It has been another freezing dark night at the deserts of Cairo, it all starts in a small wooden shack in the middle of the nowhere. A few candles on fire were placed on the table along with a small bread-cake. Carmel and her mother were sitting in front and gazing at the window, waiting for her father to come back home so they can celebrate her 10th birthday. It has been about 15 minutes until they saw a lantern in the horizon, three folks on camels were making their way to the shack. Not a while later the trio knocked on the door as an old-man was shouting through "Miss Haddad!". Yocheved made her way to the door, opening it to welcome the guests, assuming they were invited by her husband to celebrate Carmel's birthday. The trio froze at the entrance of the shack with a terrible look in their eyes, "Yocheved, I hate to be the harbinger of troubles... But... we can't find Malik". Yocheved's face turned pale in a matter of seconds, she said in panic "You gotta be kidding me, WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T FIND HIM?!", "I'm so sorry, it has been around 15 hours since we lost him in the cave, we split up in there but he was never back... the rest of the crew are still searching for him." he replied while trying to hold his emotions back. "You're going to take us there right now!" Yocheved yelled as tears started lubricating her eyes. "I'm afraid that would be too dangerous, Yocheved." he replied while tapping on her shoulder. She slapped the old man's hand and shouted at his face "Take us there, RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!", the old man looked down for a moment, sighing... "You were never too easy, alright.. get on the Camels." Yocheved turned back at Carmel who was already crying as she was hearing the conversation in the background, "Daddy would be okay, I promise." she whispered and lifted her onto the back of the Camel.
52.
53. They arrived at the entrance of the cave after about a half an hour of a freezing ride on the back of the Camels. The group got off their back and lit their lanterns on, making their way towards the rest of the group which is searching for Malik inside. The old man started explaining Yocheved about their plans and the religious relics they were looking for. According to his words, Malik went into another dangerous part of the cave alone after claiming he saw something shining through. However, his lantern went off out of a sudden while making his way in there and he simply disappeared in the darkness, he didn't even shout for someone to guide him out... What worries them the most is that when they decided to explore that path themselves they found out it was a dead-end, however, Malik's necklace was found on the ground. Something just didn't make sense.
54. Yocheved asked one of the group members at the entrance of the cave to keep an eye on Carmel while she joined the rest of the crew in searches after her husband. It has been about 4 hours until Yocheved gave up and got out of the cave with nothing but tears in her eyes and terrible feelings of loss. The only clue they had was the necklace.. but the disappearance of Malik remained a mystery.

57. CHAPTER II:
58.
59. 13 years later: June 7, 1626, Sinai, Entrance of an unknown cave.
60. "Baby hold it, we are not going in..." Judas said with a worried look on his face, "What's the matter Judas?" Carmel replied and tapped his shoulder. Judas pointed at some engravings on the entrance of the cave and said "This cave... look at the engravings, it seems like the cave uncle Isaac told me about not a few years ago.", "Oh come on, what is that supposed to mean?" Carmel asked scornfully and laughed at him. Judas sighed for a moment and replied "Isaac visited a cave that looked exactly like this about a decade ago, he said that three of his crew members yelled in pain and disappeared into the darkness in a matter of seconds, similar to what happened to your father." Carmel's face turned pale for a moment, she squeezed the necklace of her father and said "Good, in that case something must be in there.", she lit her lantern, unsheathed her sword and made her way into the cave. "Carmel, no..." Judas said but eventually followed her inside. The two followed the paths that had symbols engraved on them in hope it would lead them to some kind of ancient hidden relics. The oxygen started to dilute as they got deeper, not to mention that something felt a bit strange, the whole place echoed resonance of decay which gave the two a bad gut feeling. "I told you something's fucked up around here." Judas said, "You're.. you're right.. something is indeed fucked up here... but that means we're cl..." she replied but cut herself out of a sudden after the place filled with a smell of... a corpse? Judas panicked and said "What the fuck? baby let's get outta here... I don't want us to die especially not before of the wedding!". Malik's voice came out of the darkness saying: "Hmm.. and you think you can steal Carmel's father's treasures so easily by simply marrying her, huh Judas?", "DAD?!" Carmel shouted, but the voice ignored her and kept focusing on Judas. "Whaa..aat? who are you?! how do you know my name?" he yelled. The voice laughed a little and Judas started burning to ashes in black flames. Carmel's started to cry and screamed "What is going on?!?", her father slowly made his way out of the shadows, approached her and whispered; "Hush, hushh.. he was a scum... On the other hand, I was checking on you for a while and I must say that you make me proud of being your father." he tapped Carmel's shoulder, fainted her on the ground. 30 minutes later she found herself waking up on top of a pile of dead heartless bodies, Instructions were written in blood on the wall "Consume the heart or your heart will consume you". She was terrified to her core but didn't have the power to scream as she was dried out, close to her death. Carmel didn't have many options but to take the chance and listen to the nonsense instructions or die there and become another body in the pit. The place stunk like the abyss itself, human meat was smeared all over her body and the stench went worse as she dug through. At some point her body couldn't take it anymore but with the last shred of willpower she managed to get to the bottom and devoured the heart like a wild animal. It wasn't too long until extreme lust for blood rushed through her veins and she devoured the remains of the blood from the corpses. Her mind blown from the transformation, lust for blood? sudden sharp fangs? she actually felt extreme pleasure from feeding on the dead corpses... Malik stood outside of the pit, slowly clapping his hands. Carmel turned her gaze up and screamed "DAD?! WHAT AM I?... WHAT ARE YOU?" he laughed a little and helped her out of the pit.
61. Carmel didn't stop asking questions, it has been a while but Malik introduced her to the rest of the coven and answered everything she needed to know, from the reason of his disappearance to the first tribe and the history of Moloch and Nergal.
62.
63.
64. CHAPTER III:
65.
66. It has been a few good centuries of progressive researches after knowledge of the Sleeping Children and their true names. Modern times has come and brought many consequences with it; technology is taking over and everything is easily tracked down. Even people are identified by numbers these days. Not to mention that not many people fit into the bloodline at such times... stuff gets worse and just as the Baali believe... the Doomsday is getting closer.
67.
68. March 13, 1999, Sinai, Taba.
69. It was another cold night at the deserts of Sinai as the tanks of the Israeli army were on their way to attack the Islamic Jihad. "What are they doi.." Aaron said as Carmel (also known as Camila these days) and Malik shushed him down to avoid unnecessary attention. The trio were peeking through the dunes while trying to figure what is going on, they weren't really moderns who tracked the news after all. The tanks slowly made their way towards the basement of the coven, launching a row of missiles and heavy artillery at the place after claiming it was a basement of the Jihad. The whole place turned into a black hole, the remainings of coven simply ashed to death as the explosions destructed the area. The three could barely hold themselves after realizing that all of their hard work from the past century was blown to ashes because of a single moment. Their beloved coven members are gone... and worse, THEIR PRECIOUS RELICS!?! They simply didn't know what to do, fighting the army would be a death-mission and wouldn't bring it back after all... The trio started arguing, trying to find a solution. A few moments later Camila remembered that she heard one of the newly re-embraced members talking about his origins at Red County, saying the supernatural activity around the area is sky rocking and he even said something about an Underground city? It couldn't sound more interesting as it reminded her of the city of Chorazin from the days of Shaitan. She suggested the idea of moving there and exploring the place. Actually, It didn't sound like a bad idea at all, not to mention they didn't have anywhere else to go?
70. And so begins the adventures of the Blackrose coven at Red County.
71.
72. [divbox=gray]Game Questions[/divbox]
73.
74. 1. Can you use all of your Disciplines in a public space? If so, what kind of powers are you allowed to use in public?
75. The first Tradition (The Masquerade) would forbid revealing your nature to the mortals, the reasons are elaborated above. Some Disciplines (vampire powers) would be Masquerade breaking, which means they're obviously super-natural looking. You may use your Presence powers to convince an officer to lower the fee of your ticket, but you may not pull out Feral Claws in public and slay somebody's guts. The difference is clear, whatever could be undetectable is okay while the obvious shit is strictly forbidden.
76. Going against this rule is pretty much the worst sin a Vampire could do, therefore the Camarilla is harsh about it and the penalty for breaching the Masquerade would be meeting your final death.
77.
78. 2. You accidentally broke the veil and someone is anonymously threatening to expose you within 24 hours. How do you deal with this scenario?
79. You got many options, however, you will have to operate quickly. The best and the most common option would be altering the memory of the mortal, deleting the part of knowing anything about you. If you don't have that well... you can always kidnap them and keep them at your basement until you find someone who could do the dirty job for you.
80. Blood bonding the mortal and ghoulifying them is another option, but that's quite stupid?
81. You can also admit your mistake to the Camarilla and ask them for help to "clean your bed", but that would cost you in a heavy penalty.
82. If you really ran out of options, oh well... you can always simply kill them?
83.
84. 3. You see a Vampire entering berserk frenzy and running towards a nearby crowd of humans. Seeing as the veil is at risk, how do you act?
85. Considering Camila is a Baali she would not get involved in the scenario as she would rather avoid revealing her nature, even to other Kindred. Yes, there might be a huge massacre across the street, but that's none of her concern. She has lost enough at the war back at Sinai, she doesn't need another grief after the pioneers of the Camarilla would find more about her.
86.
87. 4. You're a new Vampire and only recently moved to Red County. What are the first steps you'd take?
88. Most of the Kindred are welcomed into the hands of the Camarilla, therefore it'd be recommended to find your way to the local authority, make a proper representation and ask for the permission to stay in the domain. However, the Camarilla despises the act of Infernalism and the Baali wars wouldn't really add to Camila's reputation. Therefore, she would rather stick to the remaining of her coven and try to reveal the mysteries that lay beneath the surface of Red County while keeping the hell away from Shayara :pepecross:
