- Rejoice my frens for the writefriend has spoken! This chapter will have some fluff to balance out the angst last chapter. Anyhow, let's get on with it shall we...
- -Charlie's POV-
- >It's been 6 days since the incident at the studio but so far, Al seems to be improving.
- >His dark eye circles became lighter, he still looks a bit emancipated but Charlie had watched him eat his lunch for those past few days.
- >He even went back to his energetic self which delighted Charlie.
- >Today, they were both in the woods next to the cabin sitting next to one another.
- >Communication has improved and Charlie learned by her parents how important it was.
- >Charlie was busy looking at the ducks at the pond while Al was carefully observing his surroundings.
- >Charlie changed her sitting position while she was next to Al, just to continue seeing the little ducklings following their mom.
- >She finds this cute while she feels something slip out from underneath her hand.
- -
- >Charlie saw how she held hands with Al. He looked at her with a questioning expression.
- >"What's wrong Al? Is it something I did?
- "Charlie, we were holding hands."
- >"So? What's wrong with holding hands with someone you care about?"
- "Charlie my dear, you're beautiful and all but we aren't exactly intimate like that..."
- >Charlie couldn't help but blush a little at that statement.
- >"Sorry! I just thought that it was normal to hold hands with someone you cared about in general."
- >"Besides, I think you're a really great friend." Charlie smiled softly.
- >If Charlie were more attentive at the moment, she would've seen a pained smile from the tall man.
- >Just when Charlie was going to go back to paying attention to the ducks, Al got closer to her and started snuggling her.
- >Charlie became startled by the unexpected surprise hug but she accepted it. Not like she was complaining, it was starting to get a little windy here.
- >She went back to trying to find the ducks but it looks like they left.
- >Suddenly, she felt Al squeezing her in an almost possessive manner.
- -
- >Charlie felt him playing with her hair for a little bit and giggled. He seems really cuddly today for some reason.
- "Charlie, I don't know how you do it. Do you have any idea about how dazzling you are?"
- >"O-oh, thanks Al. You're squishing me too hard, I need space."
- >Al became quiet for a moment until he complied.
- >He let Charlie go and went back to analyzing his surroundings.
- >Charlie felt comforted and started to ponder about the decent progress they made.
- >If she keeps this up, maybe she can try to get to the bottom of his trust issues. It seems like a fairly difficult task though.
- >However, enough of that. Charlie went back to focusing on the present as it's what's happening right now after all.
- >'The past is in the past and the future can't be predicted, right? What's really important at the moment is focusing on the present to strive for a better future. The past is there to learn from your mistakes and motivate you to improve!'
- >Charlie started picking at a flower she picked up in her hands and started plucking off the flowers like she saw a couple of humans did, for some reason.
- >The wind has stopped for a while with the sun shining it's warm rays to the Earth.
- >Charlie felt joy and continued to chase the butterflies that were flying around the grass.
- >They were Monarch butterflies, they mainly come out in the warmer seasons and tend to frequent the south.
- >Charlie was enjoying herself with the butterflies when she felt a pair of eyes on her.
- >She turned to the trees and heard a small sound of static.
- -
- >Based on what Charlie was sensing at the moment, she felt an unfamiliar figure that was closeby and it didn't appear to be a demon or a mortal.
- >She followed the sound as she investigated further into the woods.
- >The light was getting dimmer and dimmer and she continued to follow the sound.
- >The static sounded jumbled and a bit distorted.
- >Two figures were watching her from the trees and waiting for her to get closer.
- >The demoness was regretting her decision to investigate the cause of the static.
- >She heard wings flapping around her rapidly and placed two and two together.
- >Charlie became filled with fear and knew that she had to leave immediately.
- >Without warning, she ran at high speed and ran to Al.
- >He was confused by her distress and wondered what made her like this.
- >"Al, I can explain everything but I need to go now!"
- I think all of you can already guess what's going on here. Anyways, part 14 is done and I have to go back to work. Also, the art isn't mine but I made an edit of it. Later
