Twitch.tv Moderator Guidelines -Preliminary-

Mod Guidelines. Intended for Jodenstone's Stream, however useful in most chats.

Remember; these are just guidelines! Decisions to timeout and ban are down to your own discretion. Most importantly, use common sense.
You're more than welcome to PM me (SplintP), on www.Twitch.tv with any other suggestions that may have been missed.

Being a mod is a responsibility. Don't abuse it, keep active and do your duty! It isn't just a status symbol. You are expected to keep order in the chat and not to give special treatment to subscribers or personal friends.

Timeout for 1 second for:

Posting irrelevant link; Such as a totally random youtube video or twitter etc. NON-MALICIOUS SITES
Posting ASCII art once
Talking about/promoting other streams
Posting copy pasta once (remove as quickly as possible!)
Repeating a message
Promoting own content (ie, twitter)
Emoticon spam (high frequency over short periods)
Asking for mod
Speaking in another language after warning ("English only please @USER")
Spoilers for films/books/TV shows
Long messages in all capitals
Discussing illegal topics
Sexual discussion

Timeout for 1-2 minutes for (10 minutes if repeated):

Repeating copy pasta (at least twice)
Requesting personal details
Using a bots commands too often/quickly (1-2 minutes) Timeout the user who is spamming, not the bot (unless all of chat is abusing)
Sharing anyone's private details (at least 5 minutes)
Minor attack on user
Attack on streamer
Refusing to stop talking in another language
Excessive caps in multiple messages
Continuing to talk about illegal topics after 1 second timeout.
Continuing to discuss sexual content after 1 second timeout.
Posting links to pornography, or any inappropriate content (mods discretion)

Permanent Ban:

Advertising link
ASCII art spam
Malicious Link
Repeated attacking of streamer/chat users
Repeated copy pasta (10 times)
Extreme Sexual Content
All bots that have not been permitted by streamer (Privbot, OoT_Runs)

Slow Mode:

Please only activate slow mode when chat is in a state where it is too difficult to moderate.
Use /slowoff to deactivate slow mode.
Never set slow mode to 120. This is the default setting.
Set slowmode between 3 and 10 seconds, depending on the speed of chat.
Use /slow 5 etc. to set slow mode.

I recommend that mods try to create a friendly and non-hostile environment, towards new people in chat and regulars. Try to keep dram out of chat. Obey the rules yourself, so don't do pyramids at ridiculous speeds with your mod abilities and don't post copy pasta however "funny" you think it is. If you think another mod is being abusive then you can tell them but don't argue with them in that chat.
